Hi What a glorious afternoon it's been really nice and warm, 19 here, been outside since 3pm with Sofia while her mum went shopping we played tea parties and watered the plants, and playdough, I will need to sweep up now as there is playdough all over the path where I sit. MIL home now ,got a text saying she was happy to be back.
I need a cold drink now Love the pic of the dog Sheila <3

Touch wood ,no problems with the pooter here today.Still plenty of error messages but I manage to get in ok.
It is pouring here now and feeling colder :-S Kim there has been some flooding in certain places around here but thankfully not close to me. My Niece down in Tewkesbury is just praying that the water doesn't reach the level where it gets in the house. The basement is full :-S :-S.I don't think they could cope again if they flood like 5 years ago.I haven't had an update today but will ring Janice in a bit.
Chris has had his tooth fixed .His numb face lasted ages :-S,and my eye still looks gross but is not painful now.I think one of the heads might have popped in the night which has relieved the pressure.Thank goodness for antibiotic cream :-D
Hannah will be home tomorrow late afternoon. She is going straight to the hairdressers when she gets off the train. It is so much cheaper for her to have her hair coloured here .I think it is about £15/20 more in London. James has gone to Kent so it is just us 2 oldies here tonight.
Just watching a Squirrel feasting .I haven't seen the Earless Wonder for a couple of days. Now what to have for Dinner?????

Busy old day today, we've both tidied up the garden, well what passes for garden, it has got very overgrown and a bit waterlogged! still at least it looks neater! getting cold here but finally the rain seems to have eased up. After that Sainsburys 'growl!' but at least it's done! I do hope that your eye is feeling better today Jane and that everyone else is OK, also that your niece was spared any flooding, I think that would be SO awful, almost overdose time!!! I'm just about to cut OH's hair, LONG overdue, he's SO tiresome over having it done, until he begins to look that that whitehaired chap on Timeteam!!

I like Phil too Jane. I think it is sad that the white haired prof Mick is leaving time team. I don't like the new girl on there either. What we need to see is more of the finds they get and less of the faces of the presenters.
Layed more black poly on the tunnel floor and on one of the beds I am going to plant lettce in. I have so much chickweed come up in there it is untrue :-| :-| :-|
I planted some lettuce plants and oh fixed up the new pump in the big water tank so I took advantage of that and gave evrything a good water and then started to soak the beds not in use at the mo. I am going to try the red kohl rabi this year. I grew the white ones last year and it is so nice sliced thinly in a salad the ones that got too big went into the chicken run and they enjoyed them too. I think it would be nice in a colslaw too. It is so nice and cruchy and satifying to the teeth.
Liz you sound as though you two have been busy bees today. It is nice to look back at garden work and see something for your trouble.

That's the one Jane!!! not quite that bad, but heading that way! anyhow he is all shaven and shorn, and is (rather crossly) having a shower!, he always says that I cut it too short! THAT is because he makes SUCH a fuss, so if I chop it off I don't have to do it again for ages, particularly as it's now getting so thin! he! he!! We've recorded all the 'Roman' programme so I'm really looking forward to watching it - read on 'Mail on line' the other day some really horrid comments about the presenters appearance (can't remember her name) Isn't that nasty? why does her appearance matter? if she were a man no-one would comment (ie Phil and Mick!!) but a woman is ALWAYS up for those sort of comments, makes me really cross!!!

Liz I think the name of the lady is Mary Beard .I think she is brilliant and don't give two hoots about her appearance.(not that I could see anything wrong) She is passionate about what she does and that is the main thing.Good on her for giving us some insight into a really interesting time in History.......I have to say those Romans were a right randy lot lolol ;-) ;-).I bet they had a lot of fun :-D

Update on my Niece's situation with the floods. They have now turned on the pump (in the basement) which has a pipe to pump the water out into a drain at the front of the house. It will be fine as long as the water at the front doesn't come up as far as the drain. Then there will be nowhere for the water to go. They think it will be OK with everything crossed.
Pat thanks for GR's message.Maybe they should shell out a few more free Credits for people who have had trouble with the site.I still have 25 credits from the last time there were big problems.
Frank enjoy your Footie tonight. Are you going to the Club?Pub?
I am just sat here looking around the lounge and it looks like a blooming TIP :-S :-S :-S.I seem to collect mess.Well not Mess really ,but I spread things around. It does Chris's head in .He is a Tidy Freak :-| :-| I must have a good clear up in the morning :-D ;-) ;-) :-P

That's HOT compared with here Fiona! Freezing with rain lashing down again all afternoon.
OH was glad to get home. It seems MIL hadn't listened to the doc's instructions about FIL's medication and hadn't given him a powder he should have had as well so no wonder it hadn't worked. FIL was dressed and sitting in a chair when OH arrived and when the doc asked him about the pain he said it hadn't been too bad. (MIL had said on the phone earlier that he was in agony.......what are you to think???) Anyway, it seems like the doc thinks it needs 'dynamite ' but has arranged an xray next week as well. OH offered to take something upstairs to the spare room to save his mum's legs and what did she say......'I'll come with you and show you where to put it!!!!!' Can't win can you. :-S
The answer is following hunches and googling Shirl. :-D
Boy, I can't stop yawning today and have a slight headache so an early night for me I think.

Getting The Error page again this morning when I try to get to the last page.
Anyway good morning all and evening Kim,
Grey skies and dull but dry at the mo.
Slept right through last night and did'nt have to get up once!!!!!
Shirl it seems as though your eye could b e a bit better as you did'nt post in capitals yesterday.
We have this strange noise at night outside somehwere and I think it must be a bird of some sort. Oh heard it last night and turned off the pond pumps and called me. I told him I had heard it for a couple of nights now. It is like a trilling and then it may stop for just a min and then start up again. At first I thought it may be frogs but it seems to move around a bit too fast for that. It sounds like a HUGE cricket.

Morning Sheila Morning Mel
Dull to day, and much cooler back to normal again. just been out to sweep the path but the playdough is very dry so will have to get OH to hose down the path during the weekend.
it's been an easy morning doing house work . then I have got Sofia again this afternoon while her mum goes to work, poor little soul has runny eyes and nose, beginning to wonder if she has hay fever , same thing happened in March when we had that lovely warm week and she was out in the garden for most of the time. Daughter no 1 and family will be off on their holidays to visit the in laws on the 15th May in Italy , I will be lost without having to look after Sofia they are away for 2 weeks, here's hoping the weather will be fine. and I can sit out in the garden, At least I have a lunch date with friends ( the usual Coffee lot on wednesdays) booked for one day , that's something to look forward too.
OH went to work at the new office this morning , he says as long as he has somewhere to put all his papers etc he'll be quite happy, probably won't be there much as it is, the job hasn't changed much, still will be traveling, just the people and the base is different.
