I'm guilty too Jane and Maureen!! Christmas and visitors cause a flurry of cleaning!! lol. I thought buying a small place would mean I could whip round it in no time, but I forgot to allow for me slowing down. :-S I know what you mean Jane about getting in the corners of the floors......its the same with the hoover however close you get........always just a tiny strip left at the edges that needs a nozzle!!

There's been much activity over the road with a hire van this morning at the bungalow where the chap whose daughter got married last week lives. She didn't live with her parents, but in the past had a house with another boyfriend she split with. I think mum and dad had been storing her stuff and now are outing all her belongings and getting their space back!!

Ann I remember just after Chris and i got married and moved to Nailsea (Bristol). The first time Mum and Dad came to visit us ,they brought all my belongings that had been stored in their loft.I can still remember their words
"It's time for us to clear out and for you to have all your things".That was when I got Big Ted,my Dolls Tea Set,my little Wicker chair (made by the blind),and my doll called Christina back again.Plus all sorts of things.
I bet your neighbours are really happy to have had a good clear out lolol

I looked that up Jane, but it doesn't make any sense just says Bill'man - one who is armed with a bill or ax. So we are none the wiser.

Just finished, it looks so nice when the whole house is clean and tidy, it's taken me all day.

The last time I saw my cousin was when my mum was in hospital nearly two years ago, he flew over just to see her and flew back the next day. He's coming with one of his boys, he has four boys and two girls. They've gone to a football match today, he's a staunch West Ham supporter. I hope my brother told him to bring warm and waterproof clothes.

Have you still got those precious toys from your childhood Jane.

I'm going to clear my loft, I keep saying it, most of the stuff up there isn't mine, there's a lot of art work from when one of my girls was at Uni, my son's hockey kit, don't think I'll be opening that bag .... phew ...... All their old school reports, I might get down when they are all here and completely embarrass them.

Shirl ,just go to General Chat and then see the Thread Title. What things do you remember from Childhood.Just look to the right and there is a column Viewed and another column replies, and that shows the number.

Maureen I have all those things.Big Ted is sat in the wicker chair in the front porch :-D.The Tea Set is still in it's original box with straw.I think the set actually belonged to my Aunty Betty when she was young and she passed it on to me.My doll Christina is hideous. She has eyes that open and shut .Rosebud mouth open showing teeth .Again I think that belonged to Aunty Betty .She is kept in a shoe box and will probably never see the light of day again :-S.I will always keep Big Ted and my little chair :-D....My Botty doesn't fit in the chair any more :-S :-S.My old cat Solo used to sleep on it.
I think I will take a pic of Big Ted sat on the chair.

Yes Jane, I think a Billman would be the one who used a Bill hook of which there were several types. It was a medieval weapon. Look on here......!!

QUACK QUACK QUACK

It hasen't stopped raining since we left home on Friday. We left home with headlights on and never turned them off till we got here.

Apart from going and getting the Indian last night I haven't been out/

Conrad, Jan, and Ros went to the Garden Centre yesterday, and I had the afternoon reading. Couldn't be bothered with walking around in the cold and rain.

Last night the wind got up, and with the rain lashing against the windows, it felt like you were in a beach hut on the coast. !!!!

I see you haven't missed me :-( :-( :-( :-(

Mandy, do we call you Lady Muck now. ????

I can only think a BILLMAN was one who carried the hook shaped chopper, that we use today for cutting down hedgerows. I bet in close quarters, they did a lot of damage to the oponents!!!!!

Conrads back lawn has been taken over by "LEATHER JACKERS" There is no grass left, just the odd bit of moss. The lawn treatment people are going to treat it, and reseed, could take a long time to recover.

We are having dinner at about 2.00pm and won't leave it too late to set of for home. At least in the daylight, we will see where all the standing water is lying. There has been a few nasty accidents, due to the weather.

Keep safe all, see you when I get home.

Jane

Jane Report 29 Apr 2012 13:08

Oh Frank I missed you :-D.It's dreadful here now.Do take care coming back.I noticed a red warning sign lit up on the A14.I was too far away to see what it said ,but guessing it might be warning of surface water and spray.

Pat thanks for your message from Kim.Poor Kim another attack of that awful pain again.Thinking of you Kim <3 <3
Pat was it something you ate (or drank)? ;-)Hope that tummy soon settles.

Mandy ,all your info sounds so fascinating.I want to know more lolol

Have just put the heating on ,there is some awful draft coming from somewhere.Don't know where :-S.Probably through the crap** windows we have or down through the loft hatch :-S :-S :-S :-S.
Must go and have a look in the oven and give the pot a stir.
