Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Apr 2012 10:04

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Hope you enjoyed your burgers without the spiders.

Started nice and sunny but we have just had a huge hail shower.

Was just going to post last night when oh unplugged me!!! :-| :-| :-( :-(

I did catchup with the posts though.

Sheila it sounds as though you really enjoyed Oliver and had a laugh at the same time. I too hope the leg is getting better. What a lark with your tube of cream it did make me laugh as I sat here reading your post.

Did we hear from Ann yesterday?? Hope she is ok.

Nice to see William back in full swing and a lovely new pic to boot.

Jane that squirrel certainly looks pregnant to me from your second photo too.

Frank your garden is certainly a picture, such colour for this time of year.

I think this weather is in for a bit as my finger has cracked open again on my left hand. Went up the tunnel yesterday afternoon and put loads of handcream on first as when I wear my gloves they tend to dry my hands out as they are a sort of thick suede. I did'nt even put them on as I was just doing some digging and watering the tom plants. It was ok when I was up there but in the evening it cracked :-( :-( :-(

Oh finished the cenmenting yesterday and just got it covered in time as it started to rain. He has been to get his favorite screws this morning early and I asked him if he thought to get a sack of corn for the girls,...he did'nt......Bah humbug!! :-| :-| :-|

Got the chicken out for tonight yesterday so it is nicely defrrosted as I am going to stuff it again with the Roule soft garlic cheese and wrap it in bacon for tonight. Might do my small roasties with rosmary and sea salt with broccoli too and carrots.

Morning (sorry evening) Kim.I can't wait until we have the kind of weather for BBQs.There is something good about being able to eat outside.I have some Cousins and their OH's coming to visit us on the 12th May and Janice and Larry will be coming too,so I'm really really hoping for nice weather that day.

Pat I hope you have a great weekend.Have a safe journey.

Chris is out with Chester just over the back field and I am still in my dressing gown .I must go and get showered and hair washed. Some of our Tomato Plants haven't come up so I'll pop to the garden center to get some more.

It is nice and bright this morning but now not as blue as it was earlier.

Morning Everyone.

Slept better last night , OH and I decided that we would have a few nights sleeping in seperate beds, so he is in the back bedroom. he can sleep anywhere head touches the pillow and he's out for the count, it's so good to wake up and feel in tune with the world instead of in zombie land,

plan to go and look for some liitle wall tiles for behind the sink in the porch today while i'm feeling good, otherwise I can't concentrate

Daughter no 1 starting to feel sick and has stomache ache all the time now, slightly different symptoms from the last pregnancy, when she was expecting Sofia she had the nausa but no stomache pains, , NHS nurse said that was normal in early pregnancy.

Time to put the kettle on, hope everyone has a nice day. dull but dry here so far.

MORNING OR EVENING ALL,

You spoke to soon Jane, the clouds are building from the West.

Had a message from an old neighbour last night via Francis Firth. who lived in the same road as me. She went to my brothers funeral.

He Had a brillent send off. GLASS HERSE AND FOUR BLACK HORSES. Typical "EAST END" FUNERAL. She commented on the number of people there, The horses were soaked in all the rain, which made their coats shine even more. They had to puill the herse to the crematorium at Fairlop (Mel will know where that is) about 4/5 miles. from the church. She has offered to send me the service of rememberance. I will ask my SIL if she has a spare, before I take hers.

Shelia, I have sent you seven Photo's this morning, I hope you like them. !!!

That poor little squirrel,, He looks well fed and clean, so he must be able to look after his self. !!!! You only need A blind one and a dumb one and you will have the set, of the three wise squirrels instead of monkeys (SORRY)

Kim, be careful you don't get a spider in your burger. or salad :-0 :-0 :-0

I'm down the pub at lunchtime Arsenal V Chelsea. Should be a good game.
Then a sleep this afternoon !!!!

Hope Pat has a nice weekend, What are you lot up to ??? Not anything I wouldn't do, are you ???

Burgers were lovely and spider free. Would you believe I was standing out there teasing one?? He was looking at me and I was waving my fingers at him. Think I've made a new friend - would not like to put it to the test. ;-)

Good you had a better sleep Fiona. Being overtired and zombiefied is really awful. I have to take my tablets for my adrenal insufficiency in the morning, but once they wear off I'm as flat as a tack.

Sounds like your brother had a fitting send off Frank. Glad the vicar mentioned your prayer too. Would give you closure if you can get a copy of the order of service.

Jane you would think by May that the weather would be kinder for eating outside. Mind you after the weather we have had, I am no meteorologist, lol.

Ros is on her normal Saturday shopping with Martine, She will get homew about 1.30 pm while I am still at the pub. If it's raining to badly I will ring her to pick me up. You women have your uses <3 <3 <3 <3

It's now peeing with rain!!!

Jane Report 21 Apr 2012 13:59

Kim sometimes in May we can have scorching weather,so fingers crossed for this one.
I went to the garden centre and got the tomato plants and a celery one,and had a look at the Olive trees.Got home and said to Chris I had seen a lovely one with a nice twisted trunk.£60.He said to go back and buy it :-D.So I did and got a nice pot for it too.I got a bit of a shock when was asked for £115.
The tree wasn't £60 it was £90 :-S :-S :-S.....oooops :-| :-|.Good job I didn't pick up one that was £199 lolol

No rain here Frank. The sun is still shining but a slightly chilly breeze.I won't risk hanging the washing out as I reckon there will be some rain at some point.
Hope you enjoy the Footie and your pint or two.

I had a photo sent to me yesterday from my dear friend Margaret who used to be the Cook at the big house where I was a Nanny. It was her 75th birthday and Lady B asked her down to the Castle. She had a lovely surprise when she got there as all the Children (who I had been Nanny to ) were there with all their children. They all had a group photo and Margaret sent me a copy.It was nice to see what they all look like now.I haven't seen them since the mid 70's

Jane what a lovely gesture and a nice keepsake.

£90 for an olive tree??????? Better look after this one well Jane.................

Did Chris treat you??

Had quite a few hial showers this morning and had lunch and now going up the tunnel again in a minuet. Oh is laying the blocks round the garage extention. I had to do lunch around the cement mixes so he could wash the mixer out before he left it.Need to get a photo or two.

Afternoon everyone,

We've had a mix of sunshine and showers today , i think its been a little warmer today too.

Not much happening here , hubby has painted some mould paint on the walls in corners of the windows in the conservatory and filled a few holes round some pipes, and i did the clearing up !!

Jane you will have to look after the olive tree at that price !!

I was saying to hubby this morning there was not one wedding at the church over Easter !!
I can remember years ago when there would be four or five on a Saturday afternoon,i suppose now that a lot of places do the whole package people don't have the church weddings.

No Ann for a couple of days , hope her backs ok.
And no Maureen for a while either !!

Greetings everyone,

It has been a funny day weather-wise. Sunny this morning, but very dark and heavy cloud cover this afternoon. Washing still not dry, not much heat coming from the sun even though it is still 24 degrees.

Daughter has been sick today and due to go back to school tomorrow after these holidays. Any connection do you think? ;-)

Jane good luck with the new olive tree. I had to re-read Mel's thread, thought she said did Chris beat you, lol sorry. My eyes are terrible. How lovely for you to receive that photo from your friend, something to always treasure.

Wonder where our Ann is and missing her. Hope she is ok and Maureen too.

Fiona hope your daughter is more rested today before her long shift.

Well the news is coming on soon, so I will be off to watch that. Have a good day whatever you are doing. 5.50 pm EST

Evening Kim, morning everyone ,

Black clouds here too Kim, i think we should have more heavy showers today .
I'am sure your daughter will be fine once she gets back to school , i remember feeling like that the first day back !!
How many weeks has she been away from school ? was that holiday like our summer holiday where they have six weeks then go up a year in a new class?

Hubby's giving the conservatory ceiling a wash coat ,then we're off to sons for coffee while it dries then we need to go to Homeb*se for some more white emulsion , the frost has got to the tub hubby had in the shed !!

Roast Pork for tonight , it's all ready for the oven and i've done the veg !!! i won't last the day at this rate !!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Apr 2012 09:58

Morning Mandy and all and Evening Kim,

Roast pork for us today too Mandy. I have a small stuffed loin one of our favorites. I actually remembered to get it out the freezer yesterday! :-D :-D :-D

Sun and showers here this morning so nothing new there. Oh getting ready to go and ring.

Mandy you said about there being a lot of weddings at the church around Eastertime. Did'nt they have to get married before the end of the tax year a while ago to get a tax rebate or some such thing and the the government axed that? :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Had a message from GR this morning about your favorite sweets. Had a quick look and left a comment about the Spearmint toffee's. Seems GR are pinching our things we write on here about our memories. There were raspberry ruffles on there too and I have a bag of those in the draw of my desk at this very moment.

Jane Report 22 Apr 2012 10:56

Morning/Evening all
Another sunny morning.I have no idea why we have had hardly any rain at all.It was so black at one point yesterday and stormy looking but all we had was a shower.
I have the Marathon on at the moment. It looks great weather for them all.Hannah and John are going to be somewhere along the route to cheer the runners.Oh an email has just flashed up and they are in their first spot .She sent a pic on her phone ,no sign of runners though.

I have another LEAK!!!!!.I discovered the bottom of the cupboard under the kitchen sink awash again :-S :-S.I reckon a washer or something has gone ,or even a split plastic pipe.Oh dear. This will mean finding a plumber :-S :-S

I won't let Chris near it as anything he attempts with plumbing always ends a disaster :-|

It is Leg of Lamb for us today ,plus a turkey breast joint.(James hates Lamb)
I don't mind doing the Turkey as well as that will be nice cold maybe for lunch tomorrow.

Oh Kim those going back to school jitters :-S :-S :-S.I hope she gets there.

Must fly now .I'll pop back a little later.

Morning.

I am in a right two and eight. I bought a load of veg seeds earlier in the year. I want to plant my peas, but can I find them, NO WAY. I have searched everywhere. I don't know if you are like me, but when I know I have got something, I keep searching, and getting more frustrated after every search :-| :-| :-| :-|
Ros has offered to go and buy more, but I won't give up.!!!!

Roast beef for us today, when I get round to it.

You and your leaks Jane, What do you do to keep getting them ????

Yes Mel, The tax laws were April and October. Hence I got married the FIRST time in October. That was best time for the tax relief.

Going for another search. see you later.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Apr 2012 13:03

Frank .Remember when you lost your Christmas Stamps????? they turned up ...just like your seeds will :-D :-D Don't get yourself worked up into such a stew that you make yourself all wobbly.I bet Ros is keeping out of the way ;-) ;-)

Lol we are already having a difference of opinion as to where this leak is coming from. :-|.I'm just going to keep quiet about it now otherwise it will end in a row .I said the plumber will find the problem. Not sure if the one we had for the garage covers taps /dishwashers.Will have to look on the policy.

The sun is still shining but the wind seems to have picked up

Maureen

Maureen Report 22 Apr 2012 13:13

Hi All, just popped in quickly to say hello, son will be here any minute to pick me up. It's daughter's milestone birthday today, 30, so we are all meeting in town for a Greek meal.

Have been very busy working out how to decorate the village hall for daughter's wedding reception. It has two unsightly mirrors, the mirrors are okay it's the wood surround that's not and she wanted me to 'tart' them up, so I took a trip to Southall, best place for cheap material and am now working out measurements and what to do, will probably dress it as if it's a window, and then there are a couple of big cupboards she wants covering.

I have been catching up will all your posts though. Loved to hear all about your outing Sheila, sounds like you had a great time. I love musicals but London prices means I don't go very often. How do you manage to get these 'hunky' men ....lol

Hope everyone is feeling better and you've had a good day today Kim. There were a few things I was going to mention but have forgotten now, put it down to age, it'll probably come back to me.

Oh yes, Fiona, I wonder if your daughter is expecting a boy this time, it's just you mentioned stomach pains and my daughter had those with her pregnancy.

Oops must go can see son's car just pulled up. Have a great day everyone .......I'm starving ........
