Morning All and Evening Kim,

Sunny at the moment and quite a nice morning.

Oh has ordered me a tub of mealworms for my robins. They weigh a kg. I hope I use them all!!!!

Arm is a bit easier today. I did'nt do any hard digging or pulling in the tunnel yesterday but just put in the tom plants. Hope it was'nt too cold for them last night or I shall have to go and buy some more.

Oh is just deciding whether to buy a cement mixer or not. He says it is going to rain for the rest of the week.

Morning Regina,

I usually buy my meat in Morr*son's and only the fresh stuff never frozen, as all the fresh in there is from English farms.

I have seen the programs on tv about how the animals are killed and kept etc. I am a great follower of Hugh Fernleywhatsit. Love his programs.

Also as I said before am a supporter of the Poultry trust which rescues the battery hens. My girls all live in the field behind our bungalow and are very free range happy hens. The bantams have the run of the whole of the walled garden which is 1.25 acres and they even go outside the wall now!! Never satified with what they have!!

Afternoon everyone,

What a cold day ,was very frosty first thing too.

I see the wanderer has returned !! looking forward to hearing all about it later Frank.

Good job you noticed the leaking pipe again Jane , you don't want all the mess to clear up again :-S :-S

Pat the hail might have come from me i do like to share things :-D :-D

Mel, i hope the arm is easier today i expect it was the digging ,and having a rest from it yesterday has help the arm .
Hubby has a couple of cement mixers , he had one stolen a few years ago ,never did see it again .
Its an expense if hubby only wants one to use for for the new pond ,would it be cheaper to hire one ?

Ann, hows the back today ? this cold weather won't help it !!

Better get some jobs done ,i need to have a bit of a sweep round the back door , think i might just need my jacket on !!

Hi everyone

Hi Kim glad you are feeling better thank you for the comments about the racing it is a very cruel way to get money the poor horses dying or being injured and I agree with Ann the trauma on the planes. I remember Zara Phillips Ann dropped out of the olympics because her horse hated the plane and did not want to risk him being shot. I see it effects horses everywhere not just here Kim..

What we eats got nothing to do with those horses being killed and I hope you really enjoyed your lunch Jane. The lady who made that comment apologised to you too easily for my liking having so condemed the eating
of animals how many of you eat horsemeat. I used to eat a lot of meat
but after seing the poor sheep being killed in Tunisa for Ramadam vowed never to eat it again. Seing them pulled along on a string then watched them eating them along the side of the road next day. I thought one had escaped only to find it was to be eaten later on. Then there was the little boy taking his goat to be killed but I still thought the horses killed in that race was sad. . There was that horse running away after dumping his rider and then he fell and jumped more fences before breaking his leg and being put down and they showed the tent round him while the other horses bypassed that jump. All I did was put two pound on it to win
which Beryl increased when she put the bet on by 10pound and would you believe had 50pound on Sea bass which came third. I tried not to bet at all but Beryl would not let it rest.I still eat beef not sheep and chicken of course i hated to think I bet and the horse I bet on was killed for our pleasure.

Beryl phoned and said come out to lunch Thursday on my winnings I said no thank you. I was in a happy frame of mind when I gave her the two pound and sat and watched that race for the first time ever its peoples choice but never again. I was upset all day and my friend two doors away said she cried also. My son had a bet on the little black horse that died also he is like James Jane tries to get me to bet on the Grand National
and the Queen loves her racing. I think in the Grand National there are so many riders they just fall through lack of space the start was disaster pulling that rope across three times. Beryl was sat jigging up and down like a horse rider herself . I do not know how much she won but its spent already according to her on the phone today.
KIM your card is still on my computor table and I love it thank you so sorry
Les opened it. I thought about sealing it up and waiting for the 24th but changed my mind. Mel so many people got birthdays on the 24th I am sure you will send one of your lovely cards to all of them.

I did laugh about the hamster being buried because he was thought dead poor little hamster how nice to find he was not though.Ann

Shirl do hope your heads ok I cannot understand how you cannot get my e mails but can message you and did read your messages on Genes

Thank you for the advice on getting on here see you had some problems Kim. I did. I was figgling around last night late and reading peoples threads I could not sleep my leg is still very sore. it was late and could not turn the page up and did type a few letters to bring it up to read the threads do apologise.

Mel so many birthdays on the 24th APRIL only mentioned mine due to fact thats the day Jessica hopes to arrive here. I do hope she will go back she is very home sick.
Jane so glad Fritz is better and your sister. hows your doggie mine seems to be getting very stiff legs now he is ten can anyone advise what to give him .The vets not very interested. I have tried some tablets containing certain oils and vitamins but he still is so stiff.

Did not know you were adopted Jane Annie my friend in Stratford was adopted and very happy. Sometimes it does not pay to delve into the past
Annie tried to find her parents and found out her dad was in jail for theft
for several years and she got upset over it. She had been told he was dead. She did meet him but he was so horrible she decided to forget it and never saw him again.
April rang me again to tell me Sherman entered a berger eating competition .Jess said it was awful they produced hundreds of hamb urgers and about twenty kiddies all stuffed themselves with these burgers
and some were sick afterwards. April got three bergers to eat and fell out
with Jess because she put them in the bin. April ended up with four crisps and an apple. April is so American she was telling me she loves american Tomateoes tomatoes but thats her version there meatballs are just devine and everythings swell. Bad things is oh man its terrible.
I just love to listen to her now it just makes me laugh. Jess said she shouts Sherman move your ass. Hubby thinks he will not like her at all when he sees her but we both miss her so much. i can remember when she used to tell me to say yes not ya which I do a lot.

Thats cute sowing seeds in cotton wool balls might try that

Ann so many doctors seem to be making cock ups with things not all Im sure some are wonderful. We at our doctors have a screen now to tap instead of going to the reception and it tells you if your doctor is running on time and you have your appointment. My ho went down tapped the screen and his details and it said no appointment see reception.
He went to the reception and they had not booked him in. my ho was told you will have to re book by phone next day. ho phoned at 8.30 could not get through until 10am and was told he was too late to book. He swore and made a big fuss and did get the appointment when he saw the doctor she would not listen and said he could have been struck off for swearing at the receptionist. Im afraid he swore at the doctor. I managed to get him to write and apologise for swearing but to stress it was not his fault and stick to it. There are so many people now at our surgery. The doctor still insisted my ho should be struck off her list but would overlook it this time.

Mandy I love a chinese whats your favourite i love Chow Mein I used to love sweet and sour chicken in batter but had to give it up because of my
sugar level. I like duck in plum or orange sauce also. yum yum

Glad Franks been away nothing like a change of scene to make you feel better. We had a rag and bone man shouting in some language today not english it was funny really. Also a man came in and said give us a packet of crisps love and a beer . i gave them to him and he said i said give I do not want to pay for them. The cheek of him. ho put him out the door.

Sorry its long but when do I get a minute to come on here not often got to go and do invoices now for the tax man. We often get letters saying your tax is wrong and because my figure work is dreadful.

I knackered before I start.

We had a delayed start to the weekend. Accident on M1 jcn 13/14. We went out towards Cambridge. picked up the A 14. then down to M 11 M 25 on to A 21. Ran into rain, I thought HERE WE GO. for the weekend. But oh no. We ran ourt of the rain, into sunshine and it didn't leave us until we werre driving up the M 1 on our way home.

Their appartment is huge. Three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and an extra toilet. The lounge and kitchen are on the front overlooing the sea. Two very large sliding Patio type doors open onto balcony's. The sea view was just great.
There was only the road and promenade between the 1st floor apartment. I spent most afternoons sitting on MY SEAT. overlooking the sea. I walked a fair few miles up and down the promenade also.

Thursday evening it was a curry, just down the road about 200 yards. 4 course meal for £13.95. A lot cheaper than going off the menu. Friday morning we went to Hastings old town, lots to see, with antique shops and nick nack shops. Lunch was in a seafood restaurant. and ate in in the evening..
Friday we went to Ryde. Again loads of antique shops, and plenty to look at. I was given the job of finding a Country pub on our way back. which of course I did. They did excellent bar meals and it gave me a chance to try the local brew!!!! I am the only one who drank. In the evening again we found an excellent restaurant for sea foods.

Sat we spent the morning in old Hastings, and lunch was booked for 1.30. in Maggies fish and chip bar. If you don't book you don't get in. It is in one of the converted NET DRYING HUTS. Fish and chips consists of TWO hugh pieces of COD Chips like I have never tasted before a big bowl of mushy peas, bread and butter. In the evening we found a wonderfull restaurant and had A KILO of Mussels, crab claws, longastines, welks, all in a wine and onion and cream sauce. TWO baskets of bread for soaking up the juices. Boy were we stuffed when we came out of there at 9.pm.

Sun morning was spent reading the papers and having coffee. A lasagne for lunch, with salad, I had a bottle of Red to myself.

John our friend had an owners meeting at 1.pm. and we were packed and on the road by 3.30 arriving home about 6.15pm

I felt that we had had a two weeks break, it was so enjoyable. Our friends are off to Teneriffe tomorrow morning at 8 am. till the 11th May..

This morning and afternoon has been spent in the garden. Trimmed and mowed both lawns, watered and feed the greenhouse. Wired around the old "Blue Tree" and planted clematis and everylasting sweep peas.
I came in an 3.45 and gor dinner prepared. Roast lamb Jane. with various veg.

Haven't had time to read the posts, will try and do a bit later. Hope you are all well and it's good to see you missed me !!!! lol lol

I can't go to my brothers memorial service on Thursday, as Conrad is in France from this morning till Friday. New properties for him to look at, and try to sell. Hope he gets on allright..

Evening Everyone,
Nice to see you back on line Sheila,

Glad Frank & Ros had a lovely holiday.

Been shopping most of the afternoon with daughter no 1 and Sofia, also Sofia had an appointment at the hair dressers, :-) she was great this time, she was great last time I was there, but not when she is with her mum alone :- she plays up and won't sit in the chair lol ;-)

I have been tidying out my wardrobe, and have filled a small bag for the charity shop mainly unused handbags & scarfs
I am a sucker for a new scarf, but end up with too many and just don't wear them.

Afternoon ...nearly evening all
LOL Sheila.I can just see April in a Burger eating competition.I bet she was most upset to end up with just some crisps and an apple. She sounds like she has settled well.

Shirl how is that pain in your head? Have you had it checked out yet? Please don't leave it if it carries on.

The leak this morning was not disastrous(thank goodness). The young lad thought that last time when the big waste pipe split at the joint the pressure somehow loosened the waste pipe leaving our loo as it goes into the uBend bit and there was water coming from around that join :-S and just seeping through. He did say not to board up the pipes again yet in the garage so just to be able to keep an eye on things for a couple of weeks, and for Chris to try and add a couple more brackets to secure the pipe more.He won't be happy as it will mean taking down the boarding that he just put up lol
Chester got himself in a right old frenzy when the lad was here and ended up with a tummy ache and having a few trots around the garden :-S :-S :-S
He is so stupid. The lad didn't believe me when I said Chester is nearly 14.He thought he was a young pup :-0

I took Fitz to Tes** today to get some bits and bobs ....and wine ;-).I had to make sure he didn't lift the wine carriers with the bottles in.He keeps dong silly things without thinking that he still isn't supposed to be lifting .He is his own worst enemy :-S.On Wednesday we are going to see 'Hugo' at the cinema.I have no idea what it is except it's partly animated .

Kim good luck with those blood tests tomorrow.
Sheila .your Oh was lucky not to get chucked off the books at the surgery.
I think at Chris's there is a Zero Tolerance code.(I must ask him)

Well I have defrosted a Roast Beef in Gravy(One I prepared earlier :-D),so it is Roast potatoes too (second day running) ....unheard of in this house. But I'm sure Chris and James will be very happy. :-D :-D

Hi Everyone,

Frankie boy had a good time then! :-D Sounds like a great place to have stayed with those views and all that good food nearby. I bet the change of scene for a few days has perked you both up a treat.

We went to the cinema in the end as my back was sore but a bit better, but on condition we only went up 4 steps!! lol We always have aisle seats if we can get them. It was a long film, but I told OH I would go walkabout for a while to ease my back if needs be. As it turned out I was ok and just a bit stiff by the end. I thought the effects were very good and better in the 3D version, but like Sheila didn't think it was brilliant I'm not much for sugary romances and of course you know how it ends!

Mandy, I wonder what has brought your hubby out in the rash? Maybe it is a reaction to something he has touched and rested his elbow on.

Jane, at least you don't have a mess to clean up this time or any pong! Hopefully with more brackets it will stay put and not leak again.

Fiona, I have too many scarves too and several handbags that have only been used once or twice :-S Usually, I tend to stick to my favourites so ought to get rid of some like you are doing. :-)
