Hi Everyone,
Mel , sounds like you had a great time at the garden Centre,
your going to be very busy in the garden , hope the weather keeps fine.

Rained a lot here today, but we have been busy laying the vinyl floor in the back porch, amazing I usually have to trail OH all over the place before I see anything I like but today I spotted just what I wanted in the first 15 mins in the first shop we went into
Its like a blue/ turq/ light gray mosaic pattern and will match the little mosaic tiles that I want as a splash back above the sink. I am really pleased.

Well I better get back and help OH clean up.

Now now Jane Sunday will soon be here you leave that Egg alone LOL
Oh just realised we had tuna rolls at lunch time !! so we have had fish today !!

Fiona, the Vinyl sounds a nice colour, it will be easy to just mop over and keep clean, just the splash back to do, will it all be finished then ?

Had a little rain here ,just enough to wet the ground .

Evening All,

David, an elderly widow higher up the close here died a few years ago. A few days after there were cars parked all up the road by her bungalow. Me and my neighbour were gardening on the front and as we both looked up the road he said 'where were they all when she was alive?' It was so true.

Mel, I bet you were chuffed to have a 'spree' spending on plants!! If you are like me you will be plonking the pots in different positions and swapping them around before you decide what will go where! lol

Fiona, that does sound the perfect colours for your back porch. Is having that looking so good making you want to start on the kitchen yet?

We ate while we were out today and had a mooch around Hinckley and were surprised the charity shops were open today! I never seem to know where is open when these days. OH got himself a few books........don't know where he's going to put them ......and I got a necklace with some nice silver spacer beads I have in mind for a necklace with felt beads I want to make. We called to see MIL and FIL then and got a cuppa there as it was their time for one. Don't get asked if they are not due one themselves.......they have very strict routines!! lol

Kim, I don't think I would be very good in Australia........wouldn't dare leave doors or windows open if there were snakes about....or poisonous spiders come to that! Do you get many poisonous one where you live? Saying that has reminded me of one of OH's jokes he used to tell........you've probably heard it:

Mummy snake was slithering along with her baby snake at her side and the baby snake asked, 'what are we mummy?' Mummy snake said 'we are snakes and there are two kinds, poisonous snakes that kill their prey by a bite and constrictors, which we are, that kill their prey by squeezing them. 'Oh,' said baby snake. 'Why do you ask?' said mummy snake and baby snake answered, 'I just bit my tongue'. It still makes me chuckle. :-)

Hi Folks,
Started with frost on the cars here this morning but to my surprise, I went out in my dressing gown at 9am to retrieve the weelie bins and it wasn't COLD! But by the time the sun disappeared, the wind got up - when we got home from shopping at lunchtime it had turned really chilly.

Ann, we like the Hinckley charity shops but haven't been over for a while. The charity shops in Bedworth, all bar one, were also open today. Didn't buy anything today though. We had parked by the Civic Hall and walked through to Aldi* where it was like the Benny Hill show. All the cars were driving in, there were no parking spaces, so the queue continued for them all to go out again! Crazy. I was surprised to see the market open when the library and council office were closed?

Other than that we have just had a chat with our neighbour on her new sofa set up. And I had an old pal come visit me. I'll forgive you all for yawning.

Meanwhile, carry on carrying on . . . .

PS, Love the snake joke Ann

Well I got all in but four potted and I still have the three 6 packs of Calendulas Dianthuis and canterbry bells.

Back aches but cooked a nice easy dinner, Lamb shanks spinach and new pots all cooked in the microwave! Nice bottle of Banrock Station Cabinet Merlot which I am still drinking to give me strenght for tomorrows gardening wether permitting. It has been a beautiful da here today with sunshine all day but a bit of a cold wind when the sun went down which has now gone.

Shirl if you were trying to do my Easter Bunny you have to copy and paste it.

Morning All,

Been up a while but been doing other things. Just going to have some brekky.

Oh is talking about digging another pond to hold our fish when he makes the other one deeper. Been in the garden trying to picture it next to the big one. This one will be not as deep and have space around the edges for plants as the koi pond dos'nt really have that many plants in as they eat them.

Not so sunny today but not really cold.

Must go up the shop and get hte paper and some more red as we drank it all yesterday!!

MEgirl Report 7 Apr 2012 10:46

Shirl, they don't breed bunnies like they used to, LOL. 10/10 for trying.

What a sh*t of a day it's been. Weather so windy and then cooled right down. Very little sleep last night, so I'm doing my zombie impersonations.

Son and daughter out tonight, so a quiet one. No eggs for me tomorrow, I'm being very good, but will have a gluten-free hot cross bun. A friend is coming to visit in the afternoon, so I am looking forward to that. They often see me in my current condition and pj's. Had a lovely chat and plenty of laughs on the phone with my friend from Sydney, so another positive. I do miss seeing her as we go way back.

Annx if you lived here you would get used to the spiders. You just have to take precautions. I would hate to live in South America with all those massive bird eating spiders and all the large creepy crawlies. I think I'd be in a padded cell!!!!! Regardless of doors and windows, they still manage to get in. Loved your snake tale too. ;-) Really like your flower pic too, so pretty.

Frank hope you have a nice day at Hastings tomorrow. Still no card!!!!!

Mel is the back any better today and hope you are on the improve too William.

Fiona I like the sound of your vinyl pattern too, it will go really well with your colour scheme for the porch.

Had our fish for dinner yesterday, like a good Catholic girl. Never had meat on Good Friday yet. Tradition in the family and mother would have been watching.

Will try to be back later to see how everyone is. 7.44 pm EST

Not cold here but it seems to be getting very cloudy.I am still in my nightie and am thinking about having a Hot Cross Bun and a coffee before going up for a shower. Then I must go and get some petrol and Loo Rolls.I just saw we are down to two.I never let them get that low :-S

Evening kim

Morning Mel

Didn't get back on yesterday as daughter no 2 and boyfreind came for dinner last night and as they are both busy on Easter sunday, they have given OH his birthday present last night , the parcel was too big for daughter to carry on her own,

A Barbeque !!! we had been chatting about getting a new one, Charcoal not gas , so OH was delighted, so hope fully we will get some sunshine this summer to use it.

OH birthday is Easter Monday but he is off to Barcelona in the afternoon so we are celebrating it tomorrow with the rest of the family.

Just have had my shower while OH is finely out on his bike , first since Nov, then it's a pile of ironing to do.

MANDY. We are getting through the jobs in the porch slowly,

OH had to do some plastering yesterday, very dusty job then

we still have to connect the radiator up.

walls need the last coat of paint (had 2 , 1 to go)

little tiles for splashback.

skirting boards to paint,

We will get there!!!!!!! :-) :-)

ANNX OH YES!!!!! :-D :-D the cupboards in the porch put my kitchen cupboards to shame, but I think the kitchen will have to wait a while.
OH would give my a hard time if I mentioned doing the kitchen now, he wants a green house next ;-) ;-) we thought a neighbour of ours was getting rid of there's but that idea has not happened :-S :-S

Morning all from the SICK ONE.

Have had the "squits" since yesterday evening. In and out to my White friend all night and this morning. Ros bought me a cup of tea in bed and within ten minutes it had gone down the loo, then same with the second.
Will stay close to the little room today. No lunchtime drink and football.

Kim, We are going to our sons tomorrow, and down to Hastings on Thursday till Sunday.

It looks like they will put my brother to rest on the 19th April. My niece rang me this morning. When all this is over they want to come and visit us for a day.

I have just thought, that Conrad might be able to take us down to the memorial service, and then we could come home. Don't want a confrontation with the other brother. !!!!

Off to lie on the sofa for the day. Hope you are all well and get all your jobs done in the gardens.

Years and years ago All offices in London closed for Easter from Thursday till Tuesday.and most shops were closed. How times have changed !!!!

Back is ok today thank you Kim but I seem to have hurt my right arm at the top. Like I have pulled it out of it's socket. Might be me chopping through a root yesterday to get a hole for one plant in a bigger pot.

It turned a bit sunny but has now clouded over again.

Hope your oh has a nice birthday on Monday Fiona and did he like his bar-b-q.

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 7 Apr 2012 13:00

Oh Mel I hope not, that would be terribly painful. Maybe you should go back inside and leave the gardening for a day or so.

Happy birthday to your OH for Monday Fiona and happy celebrations tomorrow. What a super present!!!!

To the SICK ONE hope it stops very soon, especially before tomorrow. Yeah got my wires crossed, knew you were going there at some stage. All the best if you get to your brother's memorial service. I think it would put your mind at ease somewhat. Is it a long time since you have seen your niece? Something good to come out of something sad. Will be good for you to catch up with her. Rest up.

Have just had a confrontation on fb with a woman I don't even know. Felt like I was being attacked by wasps, what a psycho!!! Boy you can be civilised and agree to disagree. Hope I never come across her again.

Hope the sick feel better soon and aches and pains recede. An abundance of chocolate eggs for those who have been good and don't make yourselves sick.

Hippity Hop and out of here. 9.58 pm EST

Frank ,you are becoming very good friends with that white pal of yours. :-S.Maybe you have a bit of irritable bowel .Just chill today and hopefully you will be all clear for tomorrow.
I think it really nice that your Niece would like to come and visit.I'm sure too that Conrad would take you to your Brother's Memorial.

Mel you take it easy with your Shoulder. It sounds like you wrenched it alright :-S

Kim ,I hope you gave as good as you got to that person on FB.There are some very nasty people out there who just love a scrap :-S :-S :-S

Fiona ,fingers crossed for good weather then this summer so your OH can get some good use from the BBQ.
:-D :-D.

It is all grey outside now with a very light drizzle hanging in the air.So no washing on the line today.

I'm still watching my egg ;-) ;-)

MEgirl Report 7 Apr 2012 15:33

Morning Jane, It was a discussion on environmental issues and then she got personal. I stayed civil, but didn't agree with all she had to say. She deleted all her comments, but I left mine as they weren't offensive. They posts these things to get opinions or ideas and the implode haha. It did upset me as I don't like that sort of thing or fighting verbally (couldn't physically) with someone.

You keep eyeing off that egg and stay strong. ;-) Hope the damn thing doesn't hatch during the night. :-D :-D

Off to the tv, so late I know - that's me!!!!! 12.33 am EST
