Afternoon all This is the first time on the pooter today. It was so slow this morning I gave up :-S Sorry to see 'little old man ' and another of your Chickens have gone to the big Chicken Run in the sky Mel :-( :-(
Frank. That was quite a number of you for the meal.I can imagine it would have been quite difficult to arrange the seating .It's not a huge place either.I'm pleased it all went well.
That Wine bar and Cellars is just behind Embankment Tube Station.Villiers St.It has a very small front entrance and looks quite shabby.I can imagine people taking a look and just carrying on ,not realising what the inside is like.If you google it gives you the history of the building.Just Google Gordons Wine Bar
Fiona any more news on your MIL?It must be a worry for your OH.I hope your daughters interview has gone well.
Just having a lovely cuppa now as I have finished the ironing. There is not one bit left :-D :-D
Pat ,I'm not surprised Mocha is shattered after his fun day out :-D

Well I am just in from the garden, set more potatos in the bags, and put another row in the patch. Potted all my runner beans, and started to prepare the area where the peas are going. I then managed to cut the back lawn. I've got aches now where I didn't know you could get aches. !!!!!!!
Had just had a quick cup of tea, and prepared dinner. Mine will be warmed up from Yesterday, just couldn't eat it, for whatever reason. I bet I will only pick at it tonight. Just not feeling hungry lately. , I have promised myself a couple of pints tonight, and watch a bit of football. Its cheap beer on Mondays £2.50 a pint instead of £2.90 Not that I call £2.50 CHEAP. When I first started drinking it was 8d a pint.
Going for a shower now, so see you later.
Where's WILLIAM
Jane have PMd you

Hi Pat Glad the photo's got through, it is a really small extension. but big enough for a utillity space,
Thanks for sending them Frank.
JANE, MIL phoned this lunch time and said that the Dr had been round and still say's it's servere arthritis in the spine and the joints are pretty worn away, also they could be touching a nerve somewhere, there's nothing they can really do to cure it, the plan is to get her medication sorted out, but she is scared that she won't be able to manage at home with this pain.
Daughter no 2 had a good interview, was only in 20mins, seems that there was 400 applicants for the job, and daughter was lucky to be 1 of the 30 who they were interviewing. she won't know if she is lucky till the end of the week.

Fiona it's no joke applying for jobs these days .Hannah has been applying again this year to do her Clinical Training. Not looking hopeful. One of the hospitals she applied to had had over 1,000 applicants. :-S :-S :-S.And James is having no luck either. :-S Hopefully your MIL's pain relief will work. She can always look at getting help in.I'm sure she can get help and advice on that. That will be one way of enabling her stay in her own home.

When I went into Bideford there was a mist coming up the river and when I came out it was completely foggy and cold with it. I had left in brilliant sunshine and put on cooler clothes but I was really cold when I came out. When I got to Stibb Cross just a few miles from home the sun was out and it was clear. Got home and it is still clear although the sun has just gone now.

Mel I remember that mist coming up the river when I used to stay at my Aunty Betty's in that house just above the river East of Water. You know where I mean.
Chris is very late tonight ,he is still not home :-S.I better prepare myself for possibly a grumpy old man :-S :-S.Dinner is just about ready ,but I can keep it hot until he is ready to eat.He always needs a good hour to unwind a bit.
Janice enjoyed her day at Crufts yesterday, even though she had to be in a wheelchair. She said when it was played on TV there was a short glimpse of her and her OH :-D.I missed it :-S...She had a bit of a mishap a couple of days ago.Tried to do some hoovering and had a stumble.Poked the hoover pipe through the TV screen!!!!!.She is getting exasperated now ,that she can't still do the things she needs to do. :-S

Evening All,
I put a repeat prescription request in last week at the docs and was told I needed a review with the nurse before they let me have it so off I went this morning. There was nowhere left to park at the surgery, so I had to go to the pay and display.........lucky I had some change for the machine. I rushed to my appt but I needn't have worried as I was still waiting half an hour later. Then the nurse told me that no-one seemed to have done my prescription ready, so that meant I will have to go back again for it in a couple of days. My BP was borderline (no surprise there after all the faff!) so she said book an appt for a month's time. I queued to do that and was told they couldn't do it that far ahead and would I ring in 2 weeks time!! It all took over an hour.....sometimes I wonder if things do progress.....
Speaking of jobs, when I was at the Records Office on Saturday, I was chatting to one of the ladies who did the talks and she and 2 others are part of the council cuts from the end of this month. She is the lady who was on TV in the Kibworth programme about the Viking history last year. One of the others who is going is the Chief Archivist!! All that experience and knowledge will be gone!!

Ann, would the chemist / pharmacist you regularly use not advance you some of your BP medication?
Some chemists give you more time than your GP and know a bit more about the conditition and the various meds available.

David, luckily I am not on any BP medication (yet!), I just take Thyroxine for thyroid, but she checked my BP and it was borderline so wants to check it again in a month's time to see if it is still the same. I am hoping it was a bit higher than usual with all the rushing and faffing about. I still have enough Thyroxine tablets to last till I get my prescription........otherwise I will have to try the chemist for an advance as you say!!

I once bought a test your own BP kit a few years back. Was checking it every hour, bad habit. A Doctor would only check it as necassary.
The DIY BP kit was disposed of.

Morning all, " Still in dressing gown. Had" my mate" on toast this morning, with two cups of tea.
Ros has just gone out with Carolyn for the day. Don't know what they find to do :-D :-D :-D As if I gidn't know.
Having a day off today, I'm having a job to stand an d sit at the moment. My back is killing me. I drempt I saw the Doctor twice in my dreams, and ask him for something to ease the pain :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0
Fiona, Ros's has so much trouble with her back, they can't operate anymore (she's had FOUR ops) They now are percepting MORPHINE PATCHES) which have to be changed every three days, those together with her medication makes it bearable for her to get about, and get on with her life. Worth asking about them !!!
Misserable morning here also, very damp and a chill in the air.
Started a new book in bed last night, so will get my head into that for the day. PEACE.

Morning All
Frank, thanks for that advice on the Morphine Patches thats sounds good idea, we really don't know whats going to happen with MIL, we have to take a back seat really as not living close to her , all the help and decisions are mostly made by OH brother Paul and his wife Lesley, we just keep in contact by text & phone.
Have just spent 1/2 hour looking for a folder where I write all my 1911 Scottish census info in, and I can't find it :-| :-| I am unable to print off 1911 census images off Scotlands people, so I write it all down on paper and put it in a seperate folder, Grrrrrr :-| :-|My memory is becoming hard work, I will have to start over again, luckly it's all on Scotlands people and I don't have to pay to see it again. you bet I will start again and I'll find that flippen folder lol

Afternoon everyone,
Dull here and cold ,i have put the heating on .
Hubby's home today ,he's pulled a muscle in the top of his leg , i've been rubbing cream in , i told him he's a pain in the bum!!! :-D
At the week end i opened a packet of Butter Beans ,when i tipped them in the pan out fell an old piece of.....well i think it's mud or a hard piece of stone about three quarters of an inch across, there was all this gritty dust in the packet too. I rang the company yesterday to complain, had to leave a message ,i was expecting them to ring back ,but i haven't heard a thing yet !!!
Time for a cuppa. BBL

Hi Everyone,
I think that is what is putting me off making a start in the garden Frank........the aches and pains after!!!!!! :-S Just you take it easy today like you say.......the garden will still be there tomorrow :-D
It is a shame that lady will be going Jane......nothing you ask her is too much trouble, but I've seen it happen so many times where I worked. Once you get up the salary scale from many years working you become a bigger cost to be saved!!! :-| Doesn't help the morale of those left though.
I'm glad Janice got out in her wheelchair to have a good day at Crufts. The change will have done her good.
Well, I have bought a jewellery hanger for the inside of my wardrobe door as I now have a few necklaces!!!!!!!!! lol :-D It will keep everything tidy and untangled. I didn't even know you could get them until the other day.
Maureen, how was that film.......scary?????? The Woman in Black......I think OH fancies seeing it.
