Hello All
Have had one of those days .In and out like a YoYo.
I was trying to ring my hairdressers earlier today and it was permanently engaged.I thought there must be a fault their end so decided to drive into town and just call in.It turned out that Nigel(my hairdresser)'s son had been using the phone but hadn't disconnected lol.No-one had realised that the phone hadn't been ringing.Good job I went in :-D.Also on a plus side I was able to get my colour done rather than wait until thursday when I'm booked in for a cut.
So at long last all my grey has gone :-D :-D :-D

I have wrapped Hannah's birthday pressies this afternoon so they are ready to take with us on Saturday.I am hopeless at wrapping and doing ribbons.I think Chester wold do a better job :-S

Frank .I loved your 'LINE'.Good for you.I think you have made the right decision :-D
My Mum and her Sister were often at loggerheads ,and I hated to see it.I feel lucky that Janice and I get on so well even though it was 'cat and dog' when we were young.I could have quite happily strangled her on many occasion.

Do you make your own Pastry for your pie?I can't remember the last time I made my own :-S.But I won't beat myself up about it as some of the top Chefs say the bought stuff is just as good for some things.

I must just go and get the bins out before it gets dark.BBL.Recycling.

Evening Everyone.

Side is still a bit sore especially if I twist or bend down to quick,

I was a bit aprehensive about coping with Sofia on my own today, she is such a live wire, but unfortunatly (or fortunatly for me) she was not quite herself , I think she is coming down with a cold as she just lay and cuddled on the couch all afternoon not wanting to eat or drink, and looked a bit flushed, her mum came back and they then went home, and daughter has just text to say Sofia has eaten some fish pie and had some Jelly so she must be feeling a bit better.

It's growing dark now and pouring with rain. daughter no 2 and boyfriend have decided to stay at home for there dinner. so I am looking forward to having mine , then going to watch an episode of WDYTYA USA. that daughter no 1 brought me it's on DVD then I will go and have a bath,
OH in Germany tonight he'll back on Thursday, so I have the place to myself.

Jane it's the recycling bin for us tomorrow.

Fiona ,maybe you are still a bit weak (muscle wise) from your Gall Bladder op and that is why you may have pulled something.A nice bath and and evening on my own I think i would quite fancy that.Trouble with our bath ,it is one of those 'P' shaped ones and it takes forever to fill :-S.I used to have a bath every night ,but now find it quicker and easier to have a shower in the mornings.It's not the same as a good old soak though.

I can now tell you all some news which is not brilliant( I have permission).
For the last couple of months now i have known that my lovely friend Fitz has Kidney Cancer.He had the results of his CT scan yesterday and it doesn't appear to have spread which is great.He is now waiting for an appointment to have surgery to remove the kidney.I just hope once it has been taken out he will have a full recovery and be back to his normal happy funny wonderful self.
I have told him I will don my Nurses Uniform when he is back home after surgery.But draw the line at giving him a Bed Bath lolol.

Jane, so sorry to hear about Fritz, it's just not fair how many lovely people end up getting some form of this terrible cancer,
I hope they manage to catch it in time,

I have e-mailed some photo's of my porch to some of you , sorry to anyone who does not receive them, please let me know if you don't get them

Jane, so sorry to hear about your friend Fitz, fingers crossed that they have caught it in time and that he gets his op soon and makes a speedy recovery.

Fiona, thanks for the photo's , the porch is really looking good , it's nice when its all new and fresh ,the little plants and flowers give a lovely splash of colour on the window sills.

I've had the family here again today ,DIL came first thing with Katie, she had just got to the school when katie thought she would fill her nappy !!!

So DIL came here to change her and then we went shopping together ,she then picked Chelsea up from school and they stayed for lunch and went home about three this afternoon !! i thought i would get some jobs done today too!! oh well they'll get done tomorrow now .

Poor Fitz.He is trying to keep upbeat but I can see the strain telling.He just want's the damn thing out ASAP.

Dinner tonight....Warmed up left over Normandy Pork (I did too much).New Potatoes ,sprouts and carrots.Chris never likes warmed up left overs.But I say it's that or nothing lol Like it or Lump it.I think he will like it :-D

Hi all,

After the morning frost, it was a lovely sunny day here, so we had a drive as far as Ashby de la Zouch. It's been awhile since we were there, last Spring to be exact. We had a nice potter around the shops and then a cream tea before heading back off home.

I see in the TV mags that from next week they are running a two week series about Firth and his photos. It's on BBC 2 at 6.30pm each weekday evening. That should be interesting for us all. I'll have to set it up to record.


We had a good laugh this morning. Last week I told my wife Carmel that her lottery ticket had showed up 3 matching numbers according to the TV draw. It was a nice little touch to add to her 80th birthday celebrations. This morning she said to me that she'd cash it in when she put the lottery on. I was upstairs when she looked at the ticket. She called up, "There's 4 numbers on here" - I replied "I must have missed one". Then she said there was also the bonus number, then she said we had a full house. By now I'd ordered the new car and house mentally, and wondered how I could have slipped up. We also do a line for her brother and his wife - now's when the penny dropped. She then called up "Harry & Deirdre have got winning numbers too". It was at that point that I had to remind her she wasn't reading the results, just our chosen numbers on the ticket. Well, we fell about laughing even if our dreams were ditched. It just goes to show, laughter is more valuable than money.

I probably won't be on tomorrow, busy day for me. First Wednesday of each month I go to help run our local Carers Group and then in the evening I go to my model car club. I wish they weren't on the same day, but it seems Wednesdays are always popular for any meetings. Middle of the week? Your guess is as good as mine.

Anyway, things to do, catch up with you all soon. Meantime all take care and look after each other.

Dust !!! Dust !!! you can write your name in my dust , you'd think i hadn't dusted for weeks ,i use a damp cloth to dust it picks the dust up better ,but i blame Toby he races about stirring it up !! :-D :-D
And he's starting to moult !! he rubs up against my trouser leg and you should see the white hairs on my trousers.

Poor Fitz ,he must have been so worried waiting for the result of his scan ,i bet you have been too, its hard to see a good friend go through some thing like that and not worry .

Thanks mandy for looking the census up for me..I will add bits to my tree now...Have they altered the sizing of the pages on here or is it my Pc..I will catch you all after Holby.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT FITZ- HE'S SUCH A BIG STRAPPING HEALTHY LOOKING MAN, WHAT I SAW OF HIM-HOPE IT CAUGHT IN TIME.

Shirl Fitz is a big strapping chap as you say ,but has wilted a bit through stress just recently.He WILL be back to his full effusive self soon .

I'm just watching a programme on Edith Piaf....I always get goose bumps when I hear her sing.I know my Mum and Dad loved her."The Sparrow" I think she was nicknamed .

No I didn't make my pastry, wish I had, it was as hard as nails, and looked horrible. We just ate the filling.

Glad they are on the ball with Fitz, it will soon be over for him.

Watched the last of Prisoners Wifes tonight. The way they left it, it looks like another series will follow.
