Afternoon everyone,
Never had a chance to post yesterday as the family came for the day .
Frank, get your self seen by the doctor , coughing stuff up doesn't sound good !! remember me last year , i had a chest infection and then it turned to pneumonia !! and you don't want that !!
Not a bad day here ,quite mild i have turned the heating off, got to save a little where we can .
Got some wool yesterday to knit the baby's shawl, its a very pale lilac , the wool cost just under £30 !! son said it would have been cheaper to have bought a shawl ,but i don't think you'd get one like this for that price .
Toby's crazing to go out now.

Yes, I did tell Frank in no uncertain terms. Thanks Pat. :-D
Afternoon everyone. I have been watching a few shows that were taped.
Warm day, but clouded over this afternoon. Got lots of washing done, but not dry yet. Cat is still off colour although eating a few biscuits now and then. Maybe she'll come good tomorrow when Joel comes home from his trip.
Chasing Chester will keep you fit Jane. How is Janice doing? Looks like my elderly neighbour will be coming home next Tuesday. I hope she will cope ok, with a bit of help from family and friends. Her cat will be pleased to see her.
Off to bed soon, so it's good night from me. 12.34 am DST

Hi Everyone,
OH told me it had gone colder this morning so on went my fleece before I went to do some errands.....WRONG.....I was boiling hot!! lol He has gone to collect his father from hospital after the surgery on his nose this afternoon. I think it could be a bit of a trying time with them........they rang early this morning and got him out of bed with further instructions where to go in the hospital......he'd already told them what he would do yesterday!!!!! Wasn't impressed with that!
My pretty clump of snowdrops that were in the front garden have all gone!! I have a prime suspect as last year I asked OH to pull up the grape hyacinths that were nearby as they were getting rampant. I bet he didn't notice the foliage is different!! :-0 I also had a nice clump in the back garden, but they are now in 3 places after the electrician dug all the trenches for the cables. lol I will have to dig them up again to put them where I want them. Some have sprouted on what is a heap of spare soil at the moment.
I'm glad little Mocha seems to have turned a corner Pat and that the new antibiotics are doing the trick. I bet you would enjoy that little job. I would like getting to see all the 'beads' on necklaces that came in. lol :-D
FRANK.........HOPE YOU HAVE SEEN A DOCTOR!! These things take longer to clear up if you leave them. Mandy is so right.......you don't want pneumonia!!
I went up to Loughborough yesterday, quite a nice little town, a bit like Market Harborough Jane, with nice individual shops. It was market day and I was looking for long metal zips for my next recycling class. No joy with that as there were just short ones and the rest all nylon, but I got some nice buttons and some tiny beads I wanted. I nearly didn't get there at all, as about half a mile from where I usually park the police had closed the road due to an accident. I only really know the main roads through and there are 1 way streets as well, so I was lucky to find my way around the back streets.
That's a pretty colour for a shawl Mandy........expensive as you say, but a bought one wouldn't look as good as one you have hand knitted. Hope we can see a pic when you've done it.
Well, OH sorted my stuff out of his wardrobes, so I'd better go and have a rummage through to see what can go and what has to go back there before he fills the space up!! lol :-D :-D

Must be that time of year, for clear outs and clean ups, I'm still spring cleaning then I think my loft needs a good sort through. got old TV's up there that will never work again, luckily for me I'll only have to put it out on the step and as if by magic it will disappear, Polish fairies me thinks .....
We are going to have to gang up on you Frank and nag you till you get the doctor in, that's what you've paid your taxes for.
You saying about your grandad being run over by a bus Jane, mine was killed in a hit and run, I should imagine not very common in the 1930's. I will have to go through some newspapers see if there wasn't something written about it. Apparently they never did catch the driver.
I know I go on about vet's bills, but here's the latest. I went to pick up the medication they want Alfie to try, £10.28 for a small bottle, the vet said you can also get it from a pharmacy, whilst in Te**co I asked how much it was £3.00 for a very large bottle.

Well i'll go to the foot of our stairs !!! fancy charging over £10 for a small bottle !! i wonder what they buy it for !!
I keep opening my cupboards and closing them up again, i already have a pile of bits and pieces in the back bedroom ready for a car boot , i don't know if we will ever get round to doing one though. Yesterday on Bargain hunt there was a tea trolly in bright orange plastic , we had one like that from the seventies in the loft ,we threw it out last year ....the one on bargain hunt i think went for £40 pounds !!! they said they can go for up to £80 !!! :-S i bet we're keeping the rubbish and throwing away the good stuff :-S :-S :-S

Have sent you a PM Denise.
Maureen, it is a right rip off isn't it. At least they told you you could get it at the pharmacy.
Mandy, we have stuff in the garage ready for the boot sale that never happened last year!! If only we'd known what to keep years ago. Like you say, I'm sure we throw the wrong stuff away. I've got a real desire to de- clutter this year so I have a better grip on what we do have and also where it is!!! lol :-D :-D I bet I run out of steam before it's all done though.

Snap, a load of stuff in the loft was destined for a boot sale last year, told son if he doesn't sort it and do one this summer, I will, and I'll keep the money. Might pay for my outfit for the wedding at least. It's amazing what some of what we think of as junk is worth, but as my brother always says it's only worth what someone else will pay for it. Knowing my luck I'll probably come home with more rubbish than I went with ..... :-(
Upstairs is all done now, downstairs will take a lot longer, the kitchen will take ages. Spent a lovely day yesterday with daughter and Harry, he's one of those babies like the poem about the little girl with a curl right in the middle of her foreheaad and when she was good she was very very good but when she was bad she was horrid. Boy can Harry cry.

I get Chesters Piriton Tabs at Tes**.I think it is the only Antihistamine (that humans have that can be given to dogs.Much Cheaper than the Vet.It was the Vet who told me to get them there.
Mandy I bet you felt sick when you saw that table on B Hunt :-S.It's always difficult knowing what to get rid of .You think it is tat and then discover you could have made a few pounds.
Ann what a shame about your Snowdrops not being where you expected them to be :-S.Next year they will be just as you want :-D She had her first Hydrotherapy session on Wednesday and enjoyed that.Thinks it will be beneficial. She had her 4 week check with the consultant yesterday and he seems quite pleased with how she is doing.Possibly there could be more flextion in her knee but he is happy to wait until her next appointment in another 4 weeks and see then if anything needs to be done.He recommended she hires this electric machine (that she used in hospital) it fits around the leg and when switched on automatically will move the joint. She is desperate to go to Crufts next month but will have to use a wheel chair. She rang, and as long as she has proof that she has had knee surgery will be allowed to park close in the disabled bays(without a Blue Badge or whatever it's called). So she is chuffed to bits now.
Now where is out Franky Boy?.He might be to scared to pop in ,as he may think we will keep bullying him.I hope he is ok.
Kim ,Janice does seem to have improved a lot since she stopped taking some of the pain killers.Says she feels human again :-D ;-)

They say the weather is going to deteriorate over the weekend maybe snow again - I do hope not.

I think its the thought of having to get up early to do the boot sale that puts me off a bit , why do they always start so early that you have to get up at the crack of dawn and on a Sunday too,i'am sure more people would do them and go to buy from them if they were later in the day .
I do hope we here how Frank is today .
Glad to hear Janice is feeling better ,pain killers help the pain but they do make you feel grotty, hubby use to go to have a dip in the Hydrotherapy pool, before he had his hip done ,there is a couple near us that have a Hydrotherapy pool at their house ,the lady is disabled and she uses it and they let any one use it ,all they ask is for a little donation for the up keep,i think it goes to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Turning colder over the week end the weather man says .

Shirl I have a letter of recomendation headed - James Couttie & Sons Ltd. Biscuit & Chocolate Manufacturers. Morgan Works, Dundee 4th March 1932
I think that could have been in Morgan Street, which I believe is somewhere conected to Arbroath road.
The letter says that while my grandfather was in their employment since June 1930 he was steady, obliging and attentive to all his duties, and they have pleasure in recommending him to anyone requiring his services, That make me feel very proud of him, it must have been hard to leave his wife and 4 children to go to find work.

Morning all.
Just popped in quickly. Sorry about the leaky pipe Jane. Hope you dont get too much mess and that they can sort it quickly for you.
Mandy - I do boot fares and table top fares and I agree with you they start so early - but I enjoy doing them, not so much this time of year but when the weather improves.
BFN :-)
