Morning All,
No snow here and it rained all day yesterday.
I was looking at a will yesterday trying to find out what it said for someone. It took three of us all day to get it as right as we could.
Not so cold here today but brightish with some sun sometimes.
Oh out ringing but will be back soon so I had better get the brekky under way.
William I had and still have my Pedigree doll. Mum used Amami wave lotuion and the perm stuff. She did hairdressing when I was young from home, all self taught.
We also had Gibbs Dentifrece? Dad alsways had a stick of shaving soap and I always had a plastic shaving set for Christmas. I also had the dreaded Liberty Bodice, why it had that name I do not know as you certainly were not liberated whilst wearing one. Tight as hell. I never had the ones with the rubber buttons though, just the ones with the silk ribbons sown down them and vest shaped. Girls at school had ones with the buttons. I had the tin plate humming tops with all the colours and patterns on them so when they spun you got stripes of colour. The other thing I used to get was a jack in the box. I never like them very much or the wibbly wobbly clown that you coud'nt lay down because he just pooped back up again. I hated those.
I loved it when dad brought home a BIG cardboard box and would play with it for hours on end. Either making it into a house and colouring the outside with wax crayons or coloured pencils. Cut holes for the window and door.
Evening in Paris was my nan's and mum's perfume. They used to give me the lovely little blue bottles when they had finished the scent. One year I was given a round bottle with a glass stopper that had little stars on it. I loved this bottle and would take it to school in my shouder bag with a few small flowers like daisys or buttercups. At break time a few of us would fill our bottles with water and pop the flowers in them. Once I filled the bottle too full and popped the stopper in and it never came out again. Dad tried to get it out but it never did come out. I was very sad................
I think the other perfume my nan had was Faux Nana (sp) and it had a ladies face on the label.

I hope Ellen's Tum settles soon David.Like you say it could just be the extra sugary food .Now Sugar Puffs.I'm trying to think which one of my 2 liked them.I think it was Hannah.
Kim any news on the poor missing boy?It must be awful each time someone loses their life in those Rip Tides.
Those little perfume bottles had those little rubber stoppers like miniature dummies.A devil to get out sometimes and then they could go flying when they were flipped out lol.
Mandy ,lovely pics of Toby.Does he go around the edge of the garden to begin with when there is snow.Chester does.He tiptoes over to the hedge and goes along the bit where the snow hasn't quite got to.Then he gallops back right through the deep stuff :-D.He really loves it.
So no snow for you Mel ,just rain :-S..It doesn't feel that cold out there now.I was out just now and didn't bother with a coat.James had cleared the drive and he said there were 3 other neighbours doing the same thing. One in his dressingown lol.
The Pork is cooked and the Roast Potatoes and parsnips are browning and crisping up nicely.Yum Yum. :-D
Pat I hope those new antibiotics will do the trick for Mocha. What will you do if you find out that you are allergic to him???I hope you aren't.
I better go and check the oven now.

Lucky for us the snow didn't come till late afternoon yesterday so we all managed to get over to son's for Finley's 2nd birthday. He looked a bit bewildered by it all especially when we lit the candles and sang happy birthday. Woke up to about 4 or 5 inches of snow this morning so not going anywhere today, it doesn't show signs of melting either, so I may have a week off the ironing next week as most of my customers live down little side turnings.
I was watching Alfie this morning, he pushed open the cat flap and just stood for a few seconds and decided it was too cold and never went out. He obviously needed to because he tried again but still didn't go out, I'm just hoping I don't find a little puddle in the house somewhere :-0. Kim the blood test was to check his liver as he is on phenobarbital for his fits, but he hasn't had any fits for ages and I've cut right down on his dosage.
I remember collecting glass beads as a child, anything sparkly that had probably come off a broken necklace or bracelet, and would take them to school in an old tin and at playtimes us girls would gather in a group and see who wanted to swap what, we also used to play jacks, and I think there was a comic called Bunty or that might have been my daughters, don't have a very good memory.
Frank, would you consider getting an 'older' cat from a rescue place, kittens are very cute but you have all the expense of injections and getting them 'done' a cat would definitely be good company.
I didn't know you could still get milk in glass bottles, haven't seen a milkman around here for years. Thanks for the photos, Looks like the snow is pretty nationwide.

I was thinking about school days. There came a time when we went from the junior school to the seniors. In my case it was a different school.Felt very strange for many weeks. First time in my life had a school teacher supervising football, games. After which we had to strip out of our football kit and shower. Now I'm not a stranger to cold running water but I'd never shared a bath with 30 strangers before. Some wouldnt go in,some wouldn't come out.

I had Bunty from the first issue. We had a lady bird pin thing with the first one.Later when I was older I had Mirabelle and of course the Beano, Dandy and the Topper. Had a annual every year and mum threw them all out as usual..................was never aloud to keep things so perhaps thats why I am such a hoarder now.
Think Jane had it too.
Sun has been out here today from about lunch time when oh came in. Not bad out there but still a cold wiond sometimes.

We have fog here as well..I wonder if they will close the school tomorrow..Doesnt have to be much ..The reason is the villages and side roads will be to dangerous .. so hence they shut

I wondered if the schools would be open tomorrow ,doesn't take much for them to close , i suppose its because the teachers have to travel to get to the schools now , were as years ago the teachers seemed to live close by , now some of the teachers live out on the coast !! Pat , Toby is a x ,half Beagle ,half German Shepard ,he's got the beagle markings and he's about the size of a German Shepard . He's now following me around like a shadow as he knows he soon has his meal .
Very light outside tonight , but i suppose its the snow thats making it that way .
I liked playing with my Kaleidoscope, turning it and seeing all the pretty shapes ,i remember turning it and getting it stuck several times and have to really shake it to free the beads again, i also had one of those little projectors ,i couldn't wait for it to get dark so i could see the pictures projected on my bedroom ceiling .
Must put the pie in the oven.

Could be some of the teachers live out and are unable to get to school too Pat. I remember collecting shells whenever we were at a beach, and those different coloured sands in a tube you could buy in the Isle of Wight. We always had caravan holidays and counted ourselves very lucky to be able to go away to the 'seaside' for a week in the summer. Don't think it was much of a break for mum though, she still had to cook and wash up and tidy up.

I'm here at last.
Ros bought home the new printer yesterday, it's a four in one, Fax, Printer, scanner and something else. There are two CD robs whatever they are with it. I spent all yesterday afternoon and evening trying to install it. NO LUCK. So after a restless night again, I tried this morning, and well into the afternoon. We have only just finished dinner !!!! and I have given it up as a bad job. It will have to wait till either Conrad or Harvey come. IOr I can get the neighbour in. Disn't like to bother him today. It's his day off.
Snow about 4 inches. Still laying on the garden and paths. I put out fresh water and bread and seeds for the birds. Ros has just put out the left over pudding and roast potatos. If they are hungry they will eat them.
Still got daylight here, and I don't think it is as cold. I am sitting here bare chested and in jogging bottoms, verry warm indeed. :-D :-D :-D (HOT STUFF I HEAR YOU SAY) LOL LOL
The little boys were out in force this morning, snow balling each other. I went out a threw a few, but dived in doors before they could return fire !!!! I will never grow up. Little Masos (next door) stood in the snow while Tom and Jack ( two doors down) piled snow all around him. Trying to make him into a snowman. Got up to his chest when him Mum came out and stopped them.
Don't suppose anyone has been out and about, I haven't even taken a photo of the garden. and I won't now.
Might pop back later.

Afternoon All,
We had a peek out the window just before we went to bed and saw a fox trotting down the close. No time to get the camera as he was 'on the move', cocking his leg up here and there to mark his territory.
No more snow came overnight so we went to see MIL and to do some shopping. It is only about 15 miles and the roads were fairly clear once we got out of the close, even though it was a few inches thick on the pavements. The air had been 'BLUE' earlier, when OH got my trainers with the big treads out of my car boot. It was covered in snow and the heavy boot lid fell back down on his head when he reached in to get the trainers!!! Not often I hear *@/&%## words from him!! :-0 :-0 lol. He has a red mark now......lucky he had his hat on.
When we went out with FIL last Thursday, MIL was unsteady on her feet, needing help. She also has osteoporosis from years of steroids, so we couldn't believe our ears today when she said she had been out in the snow in her usual slippy soled shoes to go to fetch the newspaper with FIL! He is perfectly able to fetch it on his own, but she does everything and won't seem to let him do anything. She'd also taken a birthday card to someone across the road and said she'd had great difficulty turning around to come back as there was nothing to hold on to. As OH said on the way home, 'what about there being nothing to hold on to crossing the road near the blind bend'. If she fell she'd be likely to break a hip......so silly and unecessary. :-S
Pat, I do hope you aren't allergic to little Mocha, it would be such a shame!! :-( I suppose he is a bit like us with a cough worse in the morning till he has cleared his pipes a bit, poor little mite. Looks like you may not have many more days to work!!
Thanks for the pics (none of Chester though?). Toby looks like he is 'keeping on the move' Mandy!! lol I love his golden patches.
I've heard of sugar having that effect David, so maybe you are right. I don't like any sweet cereals or any sugar in tea or coffee.......wish I could say I don't like chocolate!!!
Shirl, what are you doing blowing your snow over here!! :-0

Frank, have you used the software correctly? The last copier, printer, fax, duplicator I bought was almost self installing fron the programmes on the software CD All I had to do was plug the leads in.
Ann,Ellen has been avoiding sugar as part of her diet. Then last week she bought Sugar Puffs.Nothing wrong with the cereal, but a bad reaction to all that sudden sugar intake I think.
No more snow here, but it's icy.

Chester looks like he still loves to play in the snow Jane. :-D Your snowflakes were much bigger than ours! lol
Mandy, I thought Toby was about Jack Russell size........I will have to imagine a bigger dog now!
The system does seem to adapt to a new regime like that David, then object if we go back to our old ways!
We had the Dandy, Beano and Topper too Mel.....I think it was because dad liked them!! lol The Topper had Sir Laughalot and Big Uggy the caveman I think as well as the usuals.
Meant to ask Liz, did you find a kitchen for your new place?
Off to bed now.......busy week ahead.....hope you all sleep tight.....xx
