Forgot to say..........we have about an inch of snow here!! :-D :-D

Sorry you have picked up another cold Fiona. I thought I had a sore throat coming the other day, but thankfully it went away again. Sounds like you are a bit feverish with it so stay in the warm!! :-D :-D

Lots here now.Still just smallish flakes but they are certainly piling up.I can't believe how much has settled in a very short space of time.I just went to get some logs in and my foot prints are already disappearing.
Just about to dish up the casserole and mash.Great dinner for a snowy night. The only thing missing are the dumplings/dough boys. :-S

I am coming on to say goodevening and goodnight,

OH made me an omelette and toast for tea I wasn't really hungry, but I feel pretty rotten so am going off to bed
Oh has gone out to do the food shopping on his own ,AGAIN :-| , he is only picking up a few things I did do a list for him so I don't feel to bad not going.

He has compleated quite a few jobs today, redid the door step which is now smaller and only one step instead of two.
and with a bit of rearranging flagstones and losing a bit garden which was at the side of the drive way he will get his car in the drive which leads to the garage.
Also connected door bell, started rewireing the lights for inside and bought a coach lamp for outside,

Sorry to read Jane that Janice is not well today, It's going to take a lot of rest for her to get back to feeling she can cope, but at least you have seen her and that will make YOU feel happier.
Got your pic of the broken milk bottle, glad you didn't get cut, been along time since we had milk in a bottle, we don't have a door delivery just buy our milk at the supermarket,

Well I am going to bed my nose is dripping again, hope OH remembers to get tissues for me,

back tomorrow
night night

Oh poor Fiona, What you need is a good rub down with Camphorated oil. My mum swore by it, whenever a cold was starting. she would rub it in your back, on your feet and under your nose.

William, Those things bought back a few memories. Also remember Gordon Moores toothpaste, Black polish in a tin for the Black lead stove. Oxo at a farthing each. Flour/sugar/butter in loose form. butter cut and patted into shape from a big block. Loose tea. Who remembers the "MAYPOLE" Shops, I think they may have been the early Sainsbury's. We had one down Leytonstone high street. They did the best Maderia cake that I ever tasted. Can't say I remember much about toys (we never had any) but did collect stamps and ciggie cards. Would play for hours with cards. Skatey futhers where you played against another boy, and the one who got the furthest won all the cards. I had thousands of them. Marbles were also a good time passer. We would always be late for school (Playing marbles on the way there.) also on the way home. Outdoors games in the street also passed the evening and weekend away. Football. Cricket (over the garden FOUR and out Over the ROOF SIX and out.) Hockey, my sister in law was posh and played hockey as a girl and gave me her hockey stick. It was right handed, and I was left handed, but I could still hit a mean ball !!! all the other kids had a cut down broom handle with a piece of wood nailed to the bottom. which kept falling off.

My sister worked in the munitions factory during the War, and would bring home cone shaped tops, which we used as spinning tops. But the best type were the big wooden type with a stud in the pointed end. We would get coloured chalk and draw lines round the top, so as you whipped it, the top showd all the different colours.

Snowing quite heavy here at the moment. I expect I will need my snow shovel in the morning. I forgot to get it out of the shed, down the bottom of the garden. :-0 :-0 :-0

Sorry that Janice is not showing signs of improvement Jane, hope she soon starts to show she getting better.

I bet you guessed that B programe is on T.V. "TAKE ME OUT" I would and shoot the silly sod. !!!

I had Girl too. It had the profile of a girl's head and she had perfect wavy hair I seem to remember. Is little Mocha still flaked out Pat? Hope the new pills do the trick.

Mandy OH is up and down from his seat and twitching the curtains to see the snow!! lol About 2 inches of it now, my little car is well covered. I wonder how much will be there by morning.

I will say goodnight now, off to watch the last bit of Birdsong I recorded. Hope you sleep better tonight Frank. I hardly ever sleep well now and if I have to be up early I seem to be awake nearly all night!! Night, night ....xxx

Morning All
Well I think we have about 4 or 5 inches of snow.It is so quiet outside and very still. The snow is melting off the trees and windowsills now,so I don't know how long it will remain on the ground.Chris has taken Chester around the back field.I'm not sure if he has taken the camera with him.

I'm not going anywhere today except down the garden to feed the birds and do the bird bath.
Roast Pork today.I'm hungry just thinking about it lol.So I will go and get it in the oven now.

Hello everyone,

I have been watching the news reports about all the snow falling, so thick in some places. I love it, but only because I don't have to live it.

Jane thanks for the photos. My son said it looked like a winter wonderland, just so pretty. Have not had milk in bottles since I was a little girl. Isn't it wonderful they still use glass in some places. What a mess for you to clean up so early in the day. It will be good when Janice can visit, not for a while by the sounds of things, but good that you were able to see her for a short time.

Pat your Mocha sounds very flat. I hope he's doing better today. What did the breeder have to say about the kennel cough?

Frank I hope you had some sleep last night. The doctor put me on new sleepers and I was awake after half an hour :-S These anniversaries are always painful, even after so many years. There's always that place in our hearts for our loved ones who are gone. And the pets too!!!

The helicopters have been hovering for a few hours now, a young lad has gone missing in the surf at The Entrance Beach. Terrible rips in this area and quite a few have died there. Happens so often on our local beaches.

Fiona how is your cold today? Miserable to have a runny nose.

I'm off to drink my cuppa and watch some tv. Stay safe and warm.

Did some more of my tree today, finally found more relatives and more scandal!!!! My mother never told me anything about all this.

Exciting some times these snow falls.
We seldom get any now that's why.
This time last winter however we had deep snow and long icicles hanging.A lot of gutters were pulled off with the weight.

E's got to trots again.I think it's the Sugar Puffs she's been eating.
After weeks of dieting eating a cereal with sugar on must cause a reaction?
Keep calm and pass it on.
