Frank ,you always seem to be cleaning that oven of yours!.You must have the cleanest one in the country lol

Fiona I often see little ones with glasses .I suppose it is something they just get used to like wearing shoes.A lot of toddlers don't like shoes do they and always kick them off.I'm sure once Sofia gets accustomed she will be fine.
They used to put a great plaster over the good eye when a child had a squint didn't they.I think Chris said he had one.I wonder if they still do that now.

I don't think that book of yours Frank is my cup of tea.

Mandy you were brave changing the bed on your own with that back. All that shaking and stretching :-S

I spilled a whole big bag of bird food earlier :-| :-| it went everywhere, even filled shoes and wellies lolI swept it all up with a load of dust and muck.I'm sure the birds won't notice :-D :-D.I just realised how light it is now at this time of the afternoon.

Hope everyone is keeping warm. It's going to get really cold this week :-S :-S.I bet Kim is pleased she doesn't have our cold weather.

Just going to put the Black Bin out before I forget.

Hi all, bloomin' cold today. I don't mind the bright frosty days but this gloomy penetrating cold doesn't do a thing for me. We did a bit of quick shopping this morning and it was back for two hot Bovril's.

Our new arrival, Baby Grace has been kept in the hospital as she has jaundice. We are still hoping she'll be home for Thursday so we can meet her when we are in that direction. My other GD has posted a video of little Maggie pushing her gismo along, looks like she's plugged into the National Grid, bless her. She is just like her Mum, hardly any hair and not much sign of it being in a hurry either. Now her Mum has a nice shiny head of hair so we hope that one day Maggie will end up the same - eventually!.

Frank, so sorry you are feeling down but understandable. Think you need someone else to send you some of those email jokes you keep the rest of us entertained with. As us Cockney's say, keep yer pecker up, sunshine.

BBL folks, gotta go do some other chores.

Whoops, signed off and remembered I have some little quotes for you under the guise of ; LOOK OUT FOR STUPID ADVICE.-

(Think you know this one) Peanut butter warning - 'this product may contain nuts'
On a telephone directory: please don't use this when driving.
On a motorboat engine: never use matches to check the fuel level
On a washing appliance: don't clean your children in here
On an insecticide: this substance may be harmful to insects
On a mattress: don't attempt to swallow
On a mobile phone: don't dry this in a microwave

We get neighbouring cats who insist on using our garden as their toilet. I tried everything shy of harmful then said to OH, I think I'll just put up a sign saying NO CATS ALLOWED. Well, one can live in hopes, they reckon cats are inteligent!

Now I've finished ironing for today I realise how cold it is, please please please don't snow, I hate having to drive when it's snowing.

I've not heard of Tami Hoag Jane, is she another one like Karin Slaughter etc. it's a good title. I must make a list of books I might like on my Kindle, but can't see the point at the moment when I've still got a bookcase full to read. I do like nearly all the recommendations from the Judy and Richard book club. Don't think the one Frank is reading would be my cup of tea either. Are you feeling a bit happier today Frank. Doesn't matter how long a loved ones been gone you will always miss them. My mum is always popping in my head, some silly little thing will remind me and it makes me sad for a little while.

I bet the air was a bit blue at yours Jane when you spilt the bird food, you will probably keep finding some for ages.

I've seen a few children with glasses, they look cute, doesn't Mandy's Jake wear glasses. I guess you will just have to make her feel she is really special wearing them Fiona, or make up some story about them being magic or something.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Jan 2012 16:57

or buy yourself one of those super duper water pistols. Cats don't like water,, well most cats but I had a friend whose cat would often swim round her pond!!

Maureen

Maureen Report 31 Jan 2012 17:12

A water pistol's a good idea Mel, I used to try putting the hose on neighbours cats but by the time I'd got the tap on the cat had always run off.

Cat's always seem to come and poop in your garden when you aren't looking :-S.In our old house some old Tom would come in through the cat flap and spray .It always happened in the night and I would go down in the morning and nearly be knocked out by the smell.I must have got through gallons of disinfectant.Ended up having to lock the flap at night to keep Tom out.He then would spray on the outside of the cat flap.Dirty Boy :-P

Maureen I hadn't even taken my coat off from shopping when I spilled all the bird seed.I keep it in a plastic bag in a tub and I lifted it out to put some fatballs in and it just flipped upside down.Yes I certainly had a few choice words :-D :-D

Just going to watch Coach Trip.I love it.

I'm sure little Grace will be fine by Thursday William.A bit of time under one of those lamps should do the trick for her Jaundice.(I'm assuming they still use the lamps). She will soon be able to Grip your finger with hers .I bet you can't wait :-D.

Steak for us tonight. It has been a long time since we had that.Mel I'm sure your Steak and Kidney will be delicious......I can't stand kidney :-S
What is everyone else having?I think back in the days it would have been cottage pie tonight (if it had been roast beef on the sunday)

Frank ,would you like to do my oven ?? :-D you put me to shame , i really must get mine done , well perhaps i'll just do the shelves then hubby will do the bottom for me , i always use the bottom oven as that's a fan oven ,it would be easier to use the top oven really but things seem to take longer to cook in there.

Yes Jake wears glasses , i think he was about three and a half when he started wearing them , he had a lazy eye and had to wear a patch for a few hours each day to start with , then he had his glasses ,he's been very good wearing them , and he has had all sorts , Mr Men, Scooby and Garfield .
When he had a new pair Chelsea asked if she could have some too ....she saw some Barbie ones and thought she could have some .

William , dad use to like Bovril ,i think he liked Oxo to drink too, not for me though yuk !!!
Mel, you naughty girl ...you won't eat your stew if you keep eating crumpets lol

Talking about missing mums and dads. I just went to the desk in the lounge to get a couple of envelopes and the bottom draw had fallen out a time ago when I was busy and I could'nt get it back in because it was so heavy with telephone books and other books and papers and maps. I just had everything out to get it back in and when I went through things I found two hardback note books with my dads handwriting in. They were right at the bottom of the draw and were all the coming in and going outs of household expensense for the year. It brought a tear to my eye when I saw dad's writing as he died in 1979 and mum had kept them all this time. One record shows 250 gallons petrol at 80p. I can remember dad saying before the year was out petrol would be a £1 a gallon. What would he think now if he could see the price??

I bought a new fleece hat today for myself it is grey and creamy in stripes and was marked down from £7 to £2.80. Some fleece I can't touch but this is ok, some sticks to my fingers if it has man made fabric in it. I also bought for £2.99 The Vinegar book marked down from £9.99 to £2.99. I have looked at this book for years now and never bought it but now I have!! Cheaper than a monthly magazine!! :-D

MillymollyAmanda

Mel, thanks for that tip, I've never heard of Rue plants. Your not pulling my leg are you, like being sent for a bucket of bubbles - or a Brumigen screwdriver? Or a bubble for the spirit level?

You know when I was a lad (here we go again!) I was awful forgetful. One day my Mum asked me to pop up the High Road to get a cottage loaf. I came back with the bread alright, but she wanted to know where my bike was. I'd left it up outside the shop! Another time she sent me to the cobblers to collect her shoes she'd left to be mended. I didn't have the ticket and the man asked me to describe them and I hadn't a clue. He asked me if they were suede, and trying to act clever I said "No, I think they're tweed'. I couldn't work out why the whole shop fell about laughing.

Catch you all later - B F N
