I'm now the proud possessor of a Kindle Book (birthday present), to say that it is brilliant would be an understatement, I'm absolutely thrilled with it! couldn't be more pleased! Hope everyone has a good day.

Just a quickie for now.I seem to have been tearing around like a Blue Ars** Fly this morning.
Thanks for Chris's Birthday Wishes. That's from him and me.He has just opened his pressies. We had a bottle of bubbly and some nibbles, and Chestr shredded up all the wrapping paper lol.Presents were an Old Fashioned style telephone to go on his desk in the study, some books,Dvd,top, walking socks,a potted Stilton,Bottle of Whisky and a bottle of Grappa and a big ornamental Dahlia made from black 'metal' to go in one of the borders maybe against a trellis.I can't really describe it so will have to take a pic of it.

Pat I do hope Mocha will be ok.It is so distressing hearing that cough. The Kennels will have do do a deep clean.I remember Chester had it ,and he had got it from a place where he had been boarding. They closed down for a few days to totally disinfect or what ever was needed to be done.

They are all starving here and dinner is late as usual.Like I say I can't make things cook quicker .It will be ready when it is ready
:-D :-D

Afternoon everyone

Happy Birthday Chris , Have a great day,

Cloudy here but dry , Church this morning very quiet.

OH has my cold been sneezing all night, so I sent him away to the back bedroom this time, as it's usually me that has to leave our bed.
He is at the moment having to get on with fixing wires for the outside light & doorbell cables on the back porch, before hopefully the men will be arriving tomorrow to build the outer brick wall,

Went on line today and bought a new tumble dryer, one with a condenser in (first time round allways had a vented one) but it seems these tumble dryers are the machines for the future , so OH says it will save him having to knock a hole through the bricks for the vent , also if we use our old one in the new porch when it packs in it's unlikely we will get a vented one in the future, and we will be left with a messy hole in the porch. it should arrive next saturday, good OH will be home then.

Chris has done well with all his presents , my friend has one of those old phones is so heavy to pick up , i don't remember mum and dad having one like that all i can remember is the Trim phone i think it was two tone green !!

Fiona, i have a condenser tumble dryer ,you just have to remember to empty the container ,mine holds quite a bit and is heavy to lift up from the bottom .
I must admit i don't use mine that much , mine is down in the shed .
Bet you carn't wait to see the porch all finished.

All fed and watered here just off for a quick shower before the skating comes on .

Hi Folks,

Hope Chris had a lovely birthday today and liked all his presents and that his cold was a bit better. Seems that the men are going down with the lurgy now!!

I hope little Mocha is no worse today. I bet any of your visitors will want to take him home Pat, he is so cute.

David, my washing machine does the lot too!!:-D You can't dry much at once but at least you only need one machine.

Fiona, sounds like your porch will soon be done and before long will be smartly kitted out and ready to use.

Off to bed now, up early tomorrow.........zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Morning All
It's a grey morning here.I think the frost is thawing quickly but the bird bath is solid ice still.
I see we were talking washing machines last night.
I have a normal machine and a condenser dryer. It's brilliant as there are no tubes going out holes in the wall or windows. As Mandy said ,you just have to remember to empty the water chamber.I have had mine for quite a while now .It is a large capacity one.Briliant!.I wonder how long it will last .

I used to love the smell of Mums laundry when she had the old twin tub.She used Omo,and it was a great smell. All those bubbles and steam. Then trying to heave washing out and over into the spinner, and making it as even as possible and topping it with a rubber thing with holes in.

Hows that little pup this morning Pat?I do hope he is ok

Morning Jane and All,

Well most of last nights snow has gone and it is raining very finely today. Still a bit white up on the grass outside the bungalow and strangely enough oh's car parked at the south wall up the roadway still has snow on the roof whereas my car and his old one outside the kitchen window, facing north and always cold have both had the snow fall off on to the ground!! Weird :-S

Now is he going to let me go shopping today or not?????????

Morning Jane & Mel

Bright & very frosty morning here,

No builders as yet OH says they can't work if it is below 5 degrees as the cement won't set. so I hope they show tomorrow.

Just a quiet day here, oh working from home till 3pm then travelling to Edinburgh for his flight to Madrid , away all week till Friday. I hope he is back on Friday as thats our 32nd Wedding Anniversary.

Need to go and pick up OH perscription from chemist now,

Morning All

No snow here..but very cold.

Jane ...my mum used omo too,,It was years before she had a washing machine...I remember her boiling the whites up in a gas boiler ? and then using the mangle.

It looks like a lot of us have been married twice too.

Denise I still havent received the one from Fiona so something is playing up..I get all Franks jokes ones lol

Off to work soon only another 2 weeks to work..Mocha is off to the vets at 5..but has to stay in the car..Has any taken out the pet plan insurance..It seems very expensive..

David

David Report 30 Jan 2012 13:27

Pat,a PDSA vet will treat your new pup free.

Mother used to have a mountain of washing she used to take to the public wash house (before launderettes) or she wash it in the scullery in the poss tub using a posser and from there to the mangle and from the mangle to the line in the lane.

The only fault with the drying cycle I have is it cant be timed and would go on for ever.Would always recommend Hotpoint.

I'm glad you didn't mention who went from DOI Denise as I haven't seen it yet, switched over half way through to watch Call the Midwife and Birdsong.

Am feeling very pleased with myself, I've just come back from the dentist, seen the hygenist, have put it off for months but now it's all done and over with for another year.

Hope little Mocha is okay Pat. Alfie has just finished his course of anti biotics have now got to take him back to the vets for a blood test .......More Expense ......

It's really cold here, but no snow, don't want to speak too soon.
