Folks, just wanted to share some good news with you all as you are what seems like 'my OTHER family'. Our family tree has just increased REALLY. Grandson Matthew & his wife Sarah proudly became new parents to their baby born 5am this morning weighing 5lb 8oz. Premature by 3 weeks but all doing well. This will be SO loved as they have been trying for three years with the help of IVF because of all sorts of troubles and heartaches along the way. The new little girl in our life is called Grace Elizabeth (Elizabeth was my mother name, so I'm chuffed) This is our 3rd great-grandchild, so special when I think that I hardly knew any of grandparents, let alone GGP's!
Long live longevity.

Congratulations William, wonderful news, and what beautiful names, Elizabeth never goes out of fashion. It's great we are all living longer to enjoy grandchildren and g.grandchildren, I never knew my maternal grandparents at all and paternal grandparents died when I was quite young so never got to hear their stories of the 'good old days'

I nearly forgot I had a hair appointment this afternoon :-S.I would have been gutted if I had missed that.Had a good old natter and catch up on Gossip with Nigel.I was very close to putting my big foot in it .I thought one of the young girls there was expecting.She is a tiny size 6/8,but I was sure she had a little Baby Bump.Good job I asked Nigel !!!!!!.He said no,and I wasn't the first person to think that.He reckons she had too many chocs at Xmas lol.

Congratulations on your 3rd Gt grandchild William, what a pretty name too. More precious for all the waiting for her as well.

You set me thinking with what you said about living longer and seeing great grandchildren born. I did a quick check of my tree and the Gt grandparents I have traced up to now. To have seen me born their ages would have been 85, 87, 95, 95, 98, 108 and 109!!! :-(

Oh William congrats for the new gt granchild. As the other s have said what lovely names. I bet she grows up to be a tomboy!!! I like the name Grace very much.

Have been haveing a go at our shower today. The leccy went off as I was giving some stuff a rinse off. I could'nt find where the shower button was or the hanging thingy so let it hang down in the shower. Fought my way through the bungalow to the kitchen where the eletric box is in the corner cupboard. Luckily I had my two solar lights on the kitchen work surface under the light. Grabbed one of those to see what was on the floor in front of the cupboard and then turned it back on. It went straight off again!!!! :-| :-| :-| Turned it on once again and went back to the bathroom. Yes you've guesed it ...........the shower was pointing straight out of the doors which I had left open. Soaked the mat outside the shower and the floor. So now I had a flood to contend with and the smell of the stuff I had put up the walls was awful and I had the window open. Had to leave everything for a while and go and recuperate outside in the fresh air. Slung the mat in the bath in disgust and mopped the floor and came out and closed the bl**dy door!! :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

Yes Ann,
We always start of wearing party hats, BUT I have the same problem as Sofia mine ends up round my kneck, last year in a cracker I got a hair clip and even tried fastening the hat with that, But it didn't last long . so I gave up at the end of the meal :-(

Oh Mel you did have a time of it with the shower, no wonder you went out side to cool down :-|

LOL Mel it will still be there tomorrow for you.Isn't cleaning those shower cubicles just the pits :-S :-S :-S.I still need to do a bit more work on mine.We have hard water here so it takes a lot of scrubbing.All that Limescale :-S :-S :-S

James is off to London tomorrow to spend the day with Hannah :-DI think it is great that they can now enjoy each others company.Not squabbling like they did when they were young. :-S
Janice and I were at each others throats as children.She was a pain in the backside .But now we are just Best Friends :-D
I spoke to her earlier and she hasn't had a brilliant day. :-(.Still a lot of pain and not a lot of flextion in that knee.Still having to take the Morphine based pain killer.

I can hear rain on the windows,it sounds quite heavy :-S.I have a pair of heavy curtains on the washing line.I think they will have to stay there now :-|

Mel, what a todo with the shower lol so not only did you clean the shower the floor got a good going over too lol some of those cleaning products have a really strong smell !!!

Had another lazy day ,didn't even have to cook today as we went to sons for a meal ,back much better ,so tomorrow i must get a few jobs done .

Seems colder out there tonight ,talk of a few wintry showers tomorrow ,but then it is January !!!

Jane have you tried putting white vingar on plenty kitchen roll and sticking it bad areas of limescale. Much cheaper than the proper cleaners. I used to have to soak where a tap dripped when I lived in Essex. We don't get so much limescale down here in Devon. Kettle always clean as a whistle.

I wonder where that expression came from????

Must warm up oh's pasta now as it is dinner time and I am having a salad. I have lost the 4lbs I put on over Christmas so I am pleased about that.

Thanks for all your nice comments. I will go to bed tonight dreaming of the first time Grace puts her tiny little finger around mine and I wonder at the miracle of such a tiny perfect little being. And the smell of a new baby, mmmm, I'm getting all broody again. Should meet her next week when Mummy & baby go home. That first meeting is so very special. I'll keep you all updated. I remember the first time I met all our grandchildren and ggrand children, they are all safely locked in my memory treasure box and will be treasured forever.

We had to put another fish out of its misery today..2 gone..We have had them a few weeks now so we are getting used to them..2 months we have had the tank now...
Fiona you have had snow..We had heavy hailstones at lunch time..

Mel..I sometimes forget to put the shower back to normal and get soaked as well..I have a habit of forgeting to close the shampoo bottles so they drip every where.

I hope Janice has a better today tomorrow Jane...My freind
is walking into work with me tomorrow to hand her notice in..She has been off sick for 5 months...That will only leave one permanent person when I leave..I had aletter in the post from work today excepting my resingnation..I wasent in yesterday so they posted it to me...

Hi all its taken me ages to get back on here today.

I havent received the picture of the puppy yet Pat.

Thanks for the christmas pictures maureen you all looked very happy and the little ones look gorgeous.

I had my first ride this pm after my fall and I did it very gently just walked and only did half the lesson. So far seems OK.

Weather here today has been really horrible ever so cold as well.

I hope you are all getting over your colds.
