Where is everybody ????
I'm having a "bite a nail in half episodes" I have come out of the way, or I feel I will blow.
Ros has been on her feet all day, Ironing these curtains, ans shortening them. Not good for her back and legs, so getting a bit "TOUCHY" she has now hoovered up all the mess she has made, and is now sitting down . So I hope it won't turn into anything.
Doing Liver and Onions, with mash and peas, As I have half o loaf in the bread bin, I will make a Bread and Butter pudding. With pleanty of fruit and double cream. Naughty but nice.
Very calm outside this afternoon, and very cloudy, so I don't think we will be getting a frost.
Sorry about my mistakes this morning Should have been Caroline and Defrost. but I bet you knew that.

Looks like a chinese laundry in here, too cold to open the back door so the steam from all the ironing has just got worse.
Hope Janice is recovering well now Jane, should be all over. Surely the hospital would provide the raised toilet seat and cushion and whatever else is necessary. That's what my daughter does, being an OT, and she has to make sure everything is in place before the patient goes home.
Meant to say, thank you for the photos, did you manage to get in and out of that canoe Ann without capsizing. Great photo Chris took, was that the sunrise.
I shall be hitting the shops soon looking for my wedding outfit. Saw a really nice one on line it was a silvery grey, not that particular about colour Mandy, looking more at the style, think I will go for a tailored and fitted dress with jacket. There was another one I saw in Deb***ams a while ago but it was £150 for the dress and £150 for the jacket. I wonder if anyone would notice if I wore the same one to son's wedding.
I think you will enjoy War Horse Ann, although it has been hyped up so much that my expections were high, I did enjoy it, perhaps not as much as I thought I would, another film I want to see is Iron Lady. Will watch Call the Midwife tonight, I recorded it.

It still is really really cold here too Maureen.he ice from the Bird Bath that I turfed out onto the lawn is still solid. Haven't heard from my BIL yet.I think he is going straight from work to the hospital.Janice wouldn't let him take the day off as he is a proper worrier and it was better he was occupied at work. It is Nuffi*ld Hosp so I don't know if they provide things for home use.But Janice is OT Assistant so has borrowed equipment from the stores :-D
Tomorrow I will have a guest.....Meg my neighbour's Collie. No doubt Chester will be playing the jealous one lol.
Sweet and Sour Chicken and Rice tonight.Easy ,with a couple of jars of Uncle Be** sauce.I have tarted it up a bit with asparagus tips and baby corn.

I hope your feeling calmer by now Frank , no blowing your top as Jane says deep breaths ,count to ten !!
Had my hair cut this afternoon , only a little off but why do you feel so chilly round the neck after you've had it done ?
Hubby's been to have his blood pressure checked ,still a bit high so he has to have it checked again in a fortnight . He said it was freezing out there he had to scrape the car screen .
Poor Chester he likes his mum all to his self ,Toby's jealous if the children are talking to me ,he tries to push in front of them some times, and he's always in front if the biscuit tins comes out !!

All been quite busy I see.
Jane please let us all know how Janice got on when you have heard from BIL.
Lamb shanks tonight. I have a minted one and oh has one in red wine with rosmary. I prefer the minted ones and they only had one!! Have some nice kale to go with them and carrots.
I really must go and clear the tunnel out! I am a naughty girl because in this cold weather I have'nt wanted to go up there but I should be planting soon.
I bought a bag of Jamie Oliver baby salad leaves in Mo**isons and it had a beetroot dressing with it. It was very very nice, sallad and dressing.

Ellen had to visit the doctor's nurse today. She's monitoring a diet for her. Since before Christmas Ellen has lost 6 pounds and her skin looks beautiful. She is aiming to lose one pound body weight every other week. She has the deternination to do it. As my food intake pretty much matches hers I might lose some weight too.The thing is I tend to eat bigger poertions.
I'm not so much concernened about my body weight, more my colesterol level.

Just spoke my BIL he was just leaving the hospital. The Op went fine, but she is being very sick at the moment(that'll be the anaesthetic) and has a Morphine zapper that she can use herself for pain .She didn't go down as early as we expected .I think it was at 10.30 .Lets hope she can get a good night sleep in and will be feeling less yucky in the morning.I said I would try and give her a call in the afternoon. Thanks for asking everyone.
I am going off now for a bath and then an early night.I feel worn out this evening.Probably the tail end of this coldI have a bit of a gubbiny cough :-S

David, Please keep an eye on the colesterol. I ignored my BP and colesterol, even though the Doctors had perscibed tablets, took them when I thought about them, which wasn't that often.Ended up with this stroke, so please be carefull, That goes for all of you. !!!!
Knocked my finger again tonight, bleed for ages. Stuck a big blob of vasaline on it, as Mel said. Covered it with tissue. Now stopped, so have put loads of plasters round it, hope it dosen't bleed again tonight.
I am seeing the Nurse tomorrow about my ears, so will ask her to dress it for me.
Much warmer here tonight, I am down to U.pants and still hot, boiler is only ticking over at 18 degrees.
A lot calmer this evening, the trouble is when I get HOT. my blood feels like it is boiling, and my head starts to ache. Going into the conservatory later to cool down.
Your weather is very chaneable Shirl, tomorrow might be SUNSHINE :-0 :-0 :-0
Holby is on Tele, so going on Ebay.

Evening All
David as you know I am trying to put on weight since my op , but when I reach my goal of 7 stone, I will have to take extra care with my weight, I am now back on my Ben*col yogurts but still don't like eating the Op*ivita cereal , gone right off the taste, I will have to be more determined as I will have to watch my colesterol level also. Good news for Ellen and well done to her for losing the weight.
Well the joiners have gone and done there first misteak, , we wanted brown gutters on the porch to match the ones on the house and they put on white, so they will have to take them off tomorrow and redo them, they just didn't look at the plans it's written clear in black & white BROWN GUTTERS :-|
Thanks for the sunrise photo Jane it looks lovely, Hope your sister feels better tomorrow,
Time for a shower then off to bed with my book. Night night <3

Jane we saw that sunrise too on the way to Northampton and said how beautiful it was.
I like the sound of those salad leaves with beetroot dressing Mel......have put them on my shopping list for Sunday when we go to Mor*isons. What a good idea for your OH to make bowls from the old Beech tree and using the shavings for the chickkies too. Years ago I used to take our wood chips and shavings to work for a chap who showed Guinea pigs. They are quite expensive in the shops I think.
Well, I am pretty sure the BIG BIRD I saw this morning was a Peregrine Falcon!! I have only ever seen one in the wild once in my life and that was in Wales on the coast about 4 years ago. I had an inkling I had read about a bird of prey being seen at Leicester City football ground last year, so had a 'google' and yes there was one hanging around during matches and that was a Peregrine too, so I think it may be the same bird. The football ground is only about 5 miles from here, so just a stretch of the wings for a bird like that. The article said it's eyesight would be so good it would be able to see the whole of Leicester from the top of the stands!! Will send a pic (not brilliant).
Maureen, I agree with you about the hype and expectation. I really enjoyed War Horse and the horses were beauties, but none of us there needed any tissues. I think you will enjoy Iron Lady......brilliant! Your wedding outfit idea sounds smart and comfortable to wear, but it would be a shame to only wear it once. A colour like silver could look quite different with different accessories.
Fiona, it must be quite exciting seeing your new porch take shape and a bit of extra cupboard space is always welcome.
Frank, I always make a huge mess when I shorten curtains....pins and cotton bits all over the place. It will be nice having some new ones though. Glad you have calmed down a bit now and that that finger isn't too sore. Did you have to tape some polythene on it in the shower or did you have to hold a rude gesture with it out of the shower spray?? :-0
I hope Janice soon gets over the sickness and feels better tomorrow as you say Jane. I think you may have been a bit tense today thinking about her and that will have made you tired as well. Hope you get a good night and feel more like in the morning.
David, it is good to try and be a bit healthier and you are very good being supportive to Ellen by eating the same meals only a bit more on your plate. It will help her not be tempted. I managed to put my favourite bar of chocolate back on the shop shelf today!! lol

I have the Bene*ol yoghurt drinks Fiona and I quite like Op*iva with the red berries in. If you want a change and like it, Porridge is good for lowering Cholesterol too and I like the ones you pop in the microwave for 2 minutes.....no faff and no messy pan! Fancy the men not checking the drawing for the gutter colour!
Mandy, my neck always feels cold after a trim too! I had 2 fleeces on in the cinema today and a thin scarf and didn't take any off it was so cold in there!!

Morning Everyone. I had a lovely good sleep last night .Just woke once about 3am and turned over and was off again. What a miserable day today.Where has all that beautiful sunshine gone :-S :-S
I must go and get Meg in a minute.I wanted to get my Beef Casserole on in the Slow Cooker beforehand. It's bad enough having Chester standing right behind me as I cut the beef without having a second dog there too lol
Sorry Kim is not so good today.Hope tomorrow is a better one for you Kim <3
I think that pic of Ann's bird is some kind of Bird of Prey. The head is small and I think you can just make out the beak.
Your poor fish Pat.You aren't having much luck there.I wonder what is causing them to die.
I hope Janice has had a good night.I can't wait to speak to her later.

Morning All,
Nice to hear |Janice is over the worst now. Horrid being sick afterwards but I am told it happens to lots of people. Here's hopeing for a speedy recovery and she will be more mobile. How many dogs has she at the moment Jane?
Much milder here too today but as Denise said it is wet with it. Have turned the heating off as we don't really need it on. Oh always turns it on in the morning for me, or for himself as he gets up sooooo early, about 6 or half past. Think it is ingrained on his memory from working days and nights.
Ann I thought our bird of prey was a Perigrin falcon that we had in the garden. I think you can tell better when they fly by the shape of their tails. Why not send the pic to Springwatch and see what they say. They may have heard about this bird in your area and klike to have a report on it.
Fiona, I don't know, these builders, do they ever look at the plans after they start the work??
Pat sorry to hear about the fish still dying.... seems as though they may have been bruised when you bought them. I know when I sold fish many years ago I was always carefull not to bash them with the net trying to catch the ones people wanted.
