Morning All,
Hope all are feeling ok this bright and frosty morning. My little reflecting ponds were frozen over this morning so I am glad I have my little baby fish inside. They are growing well.
We had frozen rain here once. The trees looked amazing like glass but when it started to thaw it fell in great clouds of pieces about three inches long and smashed on the road beneath. Thats a word you don't hear a lot now!!!!! Beneath.............I wonder where that came from??
Oh has gone off to Folly Gate to help a friend sort out his drains. I think I told you he has been flooded out twice. Water goes right through the housse. They have'nt lived there long!!
Oh came from Kent.

Forgot to comment on Ann's Canoe. Looks great Ann and it was certainly a long one.
when we had our sailing boat dad use d to bring it back from the caravan in the winter and give it many coat of yacht varnish. He would have it on the back lawn upside down on a big dust sheet or sheets. The colour of the canoe brought back the memories. I wonder if the old boat is still around somewhere????? :-)

Morning everyone,
Frosty again, and although the sun out it's still very white out there.
It is bright out there for driving ,i hate it when the roads are wet and you get the sun on the road .
Ann, i think we have a Hobbyc*aft in Norwich but i've never been, i could spend ages looking in there and probably loads of money too :-) :-) The canoe looks good ,don't think i'd dare to get in one of those ,i'd sink it for sure !!lol
Denise, i like doing cross stitch ,i've never made cards, but that's some thing else i'd like to have a go at as well as the jewelry making that Ann's doing , it finding the time to do it though :-) How do we see the blog? Have a nice lunch.
Backs feeling a lot better thanks Kim, have done a few jobs today ,but the ironing is mounting up !!! Your poor neighbour ,thats a good age to have an op like that !! hope it all goes well and she back home soon. My hubby has had both of his hips replaced , the first one he had done when he was only 50 and touch wood both have been fine so far .
Jane, hope all goes well for your sister tomorrow ,my BIL has to go this week to see the surgeon about his knee ,he's now getting a lot of pain ,we all think its gone out ,he's hoping it can be done again .
Glad to hear your cold is drying up Fiona, hope the giving of the blood doesn't leave you too black and blue .
Poor old Chester , is it the cold weather playing his joints up ? i know it does mine !! It's nice to get out in the cold air when you have a cold ,does clear the head i always think .
Right i'd better do another job now i've had a bit of a sit down. BBL

Morning all.
Last night I was looking at my e-Mails when the page froze. I just had to shut down, till this morning. When I turned it on the printer went MAD and spewed out 20 pages of paper. Had a silly turn no doubt. :-D :-D
Glad you are feeling a little better folks. When I came out of the shower this morning, my nose was running (caught it in the kitchen )LOL LOL I gave it a good blow and my right ear popped, I wordered what all the noise was, it was the Tele.!!! Touch wood it will stay clear till Wednesday, when I see the nurse.
Fiona, The nurse always says to me which arm, I say up to you. the veins are so big, she couldn't miss. !!!
Hope all goes well with your sister's op. Jane, How long will she be laid up. Will you do your nursey bit, and have up to you, till she's better ????
Denise, Maureen paints and makes her own cards too, so you can swoop ideas I have never been artistic, always wanted to play the piano. or come to that any instruement. To old to start now.!!!
I haven't seen any of these photo's. What is it "OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND" ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Must tell you, last night Ros was buttering the bread for supper, Salmon and Cue sandwich. I said don't forget the corners. Which bought back a thing my Mum always said. Back when it was only Lino floors. "Look after the corners, and the middle will look after it's self" How true that saying was and still is. !!!
I bought a sewing machine on Ebay last night, for Ros's friend Martine. They have gone to Daventry (Southam) to pick it up this morning. She's very excited as she has never owned one before. !!! It's fourteen years old, and has only made one pair of curtains, and has been in the loft since. I told Ros to check it out and make sure it's working o.k. It's a Singe# so should still be servicable.
Also bought 160 "PETUNIA BOLERO" plug plants for under £10.00 with free p & p.. That will keep my busy when they turn up, potting on for the greenhouse. Then Ros can plant them out when the times right.
As the house is empty I am going for a read. See you later.

I like that about the corners Frank.
My mum would always make sure that the bread was covered all over in butter. She said when nan did it it was just a scraping in the middle.
Oh never has butter on his bread. Must be from the fire service I suuppose as they often had a call at a dinner time and would stuff whatever they could into bread and take it with them.

Hi all
Just before I go out someone tell me what does LOL mean that you seem to put at the end of your messages the only thing I can think of is 'Lots of Love'? Also what does BBL mean?
Frank is Maureen your wife?
Millie, I had a go at cross stitch once but couldnt do it, I know that sounds silly but my stitches were all over the place and I lost patience with it.
About to go out now.
Bye for now

Denise, I know i'm a bit of "JACK THE LAD" but more than one wife. NEVER. one's enouth for me.
My wife is Ros, Maureen is from Northolt in Middlesex. but knows all the birthday's etc. Font of knowledge. !!!! You will get to know all about the menbers and their Husbands/wifes/children/grand children.
Take me for starters. I was born in Woodford Bridge, Essex. the yougest of 10 children. The oldest brother would now be 94, had he lived there was another who would be 92, and a sister who would be 90. There were two children who died, then. Bill my elder brother born on the same day as me now 80. then there are twins boy and girl 78. Then Yours truly with a twin sister I am now 73. My twin died a few years ago with Cancer.
My Dad was Born and bread in Bethnal Green, and my mother in Coopersale, Epping Essex, but moved to Canning Town East London.
I had two children with my first wife. They are now 48 and 46. (WHO I NEVER SEE including my 3 grandchildren)
I married Ros in 1978, She had two Boys Harvey 46 and Conrad.43. Havey has a son LEWIS our little joy, now 13. They live in Toddington Beds. Conrad (not married) lives with his Partner Jan. in Edith Weston, Rutland.
You will find I ramble on a bit about my childhood life during the war. Some stories might be interesting , and some boring. but thats me.!!!!
Please feel free to talk about your family and your life. We all do at various times and you will get to know who belongs to who. !!!!
I think somewhere Maureen has a list of abbreaviations that a lot of people use on the site. I had to ask when I came on here what things meant. So join the CLAN.

Afternoon All
Blood test went fine, not too sore just a bit stiff,
All quiet here at the moment, Don't workmen stop and chatter a lot , Boss man came , nattered on for 30 mins, then the roof tile man came to measure up to see how many tiles we would need, still here chattering to one of the joiners, I came inside to cold to stand around .
Pat I have 2 tapestries on my wall that I did when I was first married and went to sea with OH who was in the merchant navy at the time, We plan to redecorate the dining room this year sometime and I will have to take them down as they will not go with the new colour scheme, I will have to think of somewhere else to put them. OH won't let me hide them away in a cupboard , he says he remembers how much work went into them and say's I should be proud to show them off. :-D

Computer is back at last and I've been trying to read as much of the posts as I can. I must learn not to keep clicking on the computer when it takes too long to do something, think that's what bug**ed it up.
Hello to Denise, I'm the one 'who knows everything' ...... and I know I'm definitely not married to Frank ........ lol Although he'd be quite a catch for his culinary skills alone. Hope you stay with us, you'll soon get to know who's who. Another abbreviation which you've probably worked out now is OH = other half.
When I had the full quota of bonds I used to get at least £25 every month, one month I won on three different ones, two £25's and one £50. I guess it's just human nature, the excitement of winning then the disappointment that there aren't a few more noughts on there.
One of my mums favourite sayings was "take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves"
Hope all goes well with your sister Jane.

Hi from an injured little cowboy,
Have down a beef casserolle for tonight, and thought I would cover the top ith thin sliced Potatos. I got the Mandolin out and all going along fine, then my index finger slipped and I have taken the top of my finger. I have done everything to stop the bleeding. At last I have had success, now have two pieces of kitchen towel, wrapped round my fingure held on by my "BLACK TAPE" Will have to sit with my finger up, so not to start it off again.!!! Because of my blood thiners, it might take some time.

OMG Frank, poor Ros, bet she doesn't like going out, she never knows what she's coming home to. My dad was on the blood thinners too, we kept him well away from knives.
Had a lovely weekend with daughter who's getting married in June, spent all day Saturday eating and drinking and talking wedding, even looked at outfits for the bride's mother. Son has just told me he is getting married May 2013, so another wedding to look forward to next year, or, more expense as Frank would say.
It's really cold here, had the heating on all day, not as cold as where you are Shirl. think I'd have to hibernate if I lived there.

All fed and watered here ,we tried Hest*ns christmas pud tonight ,the small one with the clementine in , i really carn't see what all the fuss is about with them ,the pudding was nice but the clementine was slightly bitter .

Evening All I have kept switched off for most of the day to make sure I got some jobs done.Things have been neglected for the past few days.
Thank you all for your Good Wishes for Janice's Op tomorrow.I just had a quick chat with her and she is just about to have a last cup of tea.Nothing after 6pm as she is first on the list in the morning. She is lucky in the job she does as she has been able to 'borrow' some equipment which will make life a bit easier for when she gets home.A raised toilet seat, bath seat and a perching stool that she can sit on at the worktops in the kitchen.
Frank I have offered to go down and do my' Nursie' bit at hers if she needs me.I will be going to visit her though.
Fiona I'm glad your Blood test went OK and you didn't end up like a pin cushion.
Pat any news on your poorly fish?
Where is this blog? Or I should say What blog?
I always remember Mum hating Dad buttering bread or toast,as he ALWAYS missed out the corners :-S If it was a sandwich she would peel back the top slice to inspect lol
I need to go and get some potatoes on so will BBL
