Frank Report 15 Jan 2012 12:41

Afternoon from a lazy boy,

Ros bought me tea in bed this morning, when I got up 9.30 am I did the veg for dinner and cleaned out the cat's dirt box.

I have cooked him a saucepan full of Chicken livers in gravy. They are cooling down now, He keeps comming around my feet knowing there's something for him.

Ros has gone over to see Martine for an hour to give her a bit of woman's company. (They can have a cry together)

Clear blue sky's here, but looks cold. I haven't been out yet.

I must go and get showered and dressed. Or I will be in my dressing gown all day.
I looked at the other thread too, and posted a small note. I like to be amongst my "FRIENDS" where I can have a joke, and let of steam when I feel like it !!!!

MEgirl

MEgirl Report 15 Jan 2012 13:36

Denise I live on the Central Coast about 90 minutes north of Sydney, but I used to work and live in Sydney years ago and also spent 14 years in Victoria. Where abouts are your family?? I think I'm about 10 hours ahead and Shirl is usually going to bed during my afternoon. It is confusing. I normally get on here when I see someone has posted, otherwise I am just talking to myself.

Pat you must have been pooped after that visit. Hope the goldfish cope with the cold weather. I remember the days of locks on all the cupboards and then visiting friends and having to run after them all day long. At least I got plenty of exercise back then!!!

What is ERNIE - some sort of government bonds or securities??

Jane sorry your cold is not improving, Keith has one too and he's just rubbed the Vic*s on his feet, put on the socks and gone to bed.

Off to watch a little tv, stay safe and warm everyone. Night, night. 12.36 AM DST Yes I know, I should be in bed :-P

Jane, we live on the far side of Bedworth (Exhall) just off the 'old main road' to Coventry. So it's Nuneaton, Bedworth then on to Longford, Foleshill and Coventry proper. The 'corporation' bus route to Bedworth from Coventry is still 'No 20' and has been since the days of trams. In fact the junction up by the cemetary, where the trams used to turn round, is still called top o the trams.

William

William Report 15 Jan 2012 15:36

Mel, sometimes I don't know where I am myself! We pay our council tax to Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, our voting district is Exhall, the bus stop is The Cedars and our postal address (to my annoyance) is Coventry. Why I say annoyance is because we georgraphily live in Warwickshire, whereas Coventry is under this new trumped up county 'West Midlands' - that could even make my car insurance higher.
What a crazy world we live in!!!

William Report 15 Jan 2012 15:42

Ann, luckily for me, by the time I moved to this area Clear Hooters had long closed down, so I can't tell you if your FiL's testing was audible or not!
There was also another motor related factory in the area called Coventry Hood and Sidescreens. The very titles tell you that these places must have existed from the early days of motoring.
My wife used to work at Bayton Road one time as a machinist making the hoods for push chairs. The firm was Mireki's and they made the Shuresta push chair.
