SHIRL, THAT'S OLD AGE. LOL LOL

Evening clouds now comming over. but still very mild, till Thursday/Friday, then it's going cold. Back to normal for time of year.

Poor old Jane got the cold. Blame James.

I still have this sore throat on the left hand side if that makes sense, gets difficult to swallow, Will have to get something for it, if it persists.

Will pop down the pub tonight. L'Pool V Man City again, that was the game last week also. It will be the first time out for me in over a week, and my first beer in that time.

Fiona , It's a good job you have a thick head from the cold and not a bottle of Mothers ruin LOL LOL

Frank ,make sure to don't flash that wallet of yours in front of any suspicious people ;-) ;-) ;-)
Yes I have the blasted cold.Hopefully it won't stop me going out to lunch tomorrow.
(Ann will PM you)

James has one of these games where you can play tabletennis ,frisbee etc on the tv.I have been having a go with the Table Tennis.I won 3 games :-D :-D.Have never played these things on the tv before.I didn't half work up a sweat lol,and had to go and change my top.I thoroughly enjoyed it but I'm now pooped and my nose is running more :-S

I'm not sure but I think a couple of young teenagers were killed in a crash near me yesterday.Frank it was on the Warkton/Grafton Underwood Rd.Have you heard anything about it?

David I 'm sure it's a great way of clearing the nose out but I h ate to see people doing it in the street :-S.Footballers do it all the time don't they.

Shirl,I'm pleased your son is doing alright.Fingers crossed he has the right Meds now.It must be a year since he was in a very bad way all those miles away from you.

I am sat here with a tissue stuffed up one nostril lol.Don't want to contaminate my keyboard :-|

Ii had a lovely photo from my friend Annie today of her with a beautiful tigar called Simba he had been hit by a stun gun in a jugular vein and he could not move the poor animal he was saved by some natives who applied a village potion a facinating story she sent .Will send a photo he really is something special.

I had a phone call from Donnie .Sheila he said my car is broken down its pouring out smoke from the exhaust and I do not know what to do. I said well what am i surposed to do he said well can you come and take a look I am stuck two roads from you on our way to visit Cassy Beryls sister.
i thought what a cheek but turned out and went. My gosh smoke everywhere the traffic was stopped and the air was terrible. There was Donnie and Beryl with smoke pouring out of the exhaust. I got out the car and said turn off the engine you dope Donnie. He turned it off and was not in the AA or anything. So I phoned Micky a friend from the garage at the back of us. He said it was a broken head gasket . Silly Donnie went into some kind of a trance like fit. Beryl said you bought this load of rubbish now look at the mess we are in.

Micky said gosh Sheila where did you get these two from.
Anyway my friends said Micky could take the car and fix it and Donnie waited for the toe truck and I gave Beryl a lift to Cassies she arrived at the door looking like the wicked witch of the West. I was subjected to a cup of coffee she said it was Indian and it was like mud. I refused the piece of strange looking cake she said it was pure honey and carrot most strange.
heard of carrot cake.

I am so sorry so many people have colds. Glad you thought my mention of slapping the electrician was funny Jane I have felt guilty all day today but Ryan thought it funny. Jess just said Oh mum .Not many people comment on here about what I write can amagine what they think most of them. Even though I comment what they say and take interest what they do. I seem to have three accounts with Genes and got charged a large amount of money on my card do not know how that came about and have had to get my daughter to stop it being done again.

I do think the Covonia s stopped me getting colds I take a spoon full of chesty each morning and the catarrh one at night and not had a sniffle lately although did get some signs earlier on in the month the weather is so lovely and mild here.

Whats happened to the lovely Kim I am sending her a card she is so brave and love her messages and things miss her when she is not on.
They seem to have had a lot of kidnappings in TUNISIA a small boy was kidnapped Jane he was playing in the street and a car drove up and a man opened the door and pulled him in the car. a son to a muslim is so special and the poor man was so overcome with grieve he shot himself.

April passed her exam but those words she uses have been around for ages and her french is limited my record had helped her and the book with it but she seems to say the same old words.

I had to give a name to a hen today. My friend does a charity thing for the Childrens Hospice and they made some stuffed chickens and hens and rabbits and are selling them . I have a little friend Grace a little girl who phones me shes got colon cancer shes lost all her hair and wears a little red spotted scarve .I called it henny pennie Mels hen died and it was a cute name. Grace was thrilled with that name went off the phone happy.

Beryls still going on about people who try to hurt you because you have offended them in the past she said some people never forget and hold grudges.I think its true I said something to my brother about if he was hard up for money why did he not sell one of his vintage cars and he does not speak to me now.

Well I am going away for a few days. My ho and I haved rented a cottage for as week at Bewdley its lovely and right by the river which does flood when they have lots of rain so I may end up floating away somewhere .We are taking the doggies with us and I am forgetting everything for a week and going to walk whatever the weather and enjoy my dogs who are getting a bit older and get fitter. Have a nice week to my friends on here and look after yourselves get rid of those colds and Amanda do take care of that back and yourself. love from SHEILA.

Evening All

Sheila, hope you have a lovely few days away, and have a good rest.

Jane did you play games on a Wii. , the family use my Wii more than I do. I need to do my basic exercises till I am more supple then hope to go back to the Wii & do the yoga and step arobics.

OH due home about 8.30 so I plan to have a bath & relax before he gets in.
I managed to get Sofia in a good mood tonight so there was no tears when her dad arrived to take her home, she has fun here and always acts up when it's time to go home. but we decided we would look for the moon and the stars in the sky when we went out to the car and she was so busy looking that she forgot to make a fuss, good as I hate to see her so disstressed.

Sheila ,have a wonderful week away with your OH and doggies.I reckon you both need a good break away.Chill,Chill Chill :-D :-D :-D
Mandy no it's not a Wii.It's play station 3 (I think). It was the most physical activity I have done in a long while ;-)
David ,yep I have seen that done here :-S :-S.Spitting is another big bug bear of mine too, especially when I see young boys do it.
Right, must get off and do dinner .

Evening All,

Hope you have a nice break Sheila. It will do you good. Sounds like an expensive repair on that car for Donnie!

Sorry your back is still playing up Mandy. I bet you are getting fed up with it now. It amazes me how much you use your back to do everything. Shirl, when my back hurts it is a right performance getting socks on and off. I usually have to stand on my own toe to trap the sock to the floor then carefully wiggle the foot out!! Putting them on, I usually end up with one leg on the floor and the other stretched along the edge of the bed.

I saw Edwin Drood, but it wasn't like Dickens usual stuff was it. I found the start confusing and it was rather gloomy.......see what the second bit tonight is like.

We went to see the Iron Lady yesterday and thought it very good. Meryl Streep was absolutely brilliant and had captured the voice, posture, mannerisms, everything!!!

Hope the runny noses soon clear up. Thank goodness I am no longer walking around with my sleeves stuffed with loo roll!! Seems to be so much of it about everywhere you go. Those sport games are quite addictive I find. We love the tennis and table tennis.......OH's Mii character looks just like him!! lol Fiona, I have just sent off for a step extender for the wii to raise it up a bit for the step exercises. I'd better get into the swing of doing them again before I use it though.

I got 2 very large gold baubles at half price for the xmas tree today. I already have a red and gold one the same size. My theory is that If I get big baubles for around the bottom, the tree won't need so many on and be quicker to do!!! :-) :-)

My geraniums in the greenhouse have all flowered again after me cutting all the flowers off!! It is a good job really as I hadn't marked what colours they were. :-D

Smells.........I loved the smell of trains at the railway station when the snorting and puffing steam trains pulled in. The noise and size of them and the way the platform vibrated was scary when you were little though.

I have started my antibiotics now for my tooth..Forgot I had the perscription in my handbag ready to call into the chemist on the way to work..So didnt leave earlier..by luck he did it straight away for me..

We bought 12 new fish at the weekend..Had the water tested everything was correct there..But since then we have lost 3 due to the water??? and 2 from the males attacking the females. We rang them up (The shop)and took a water sample back tonight near your sons Frank ...Harlington and they gave us a refund on 2 of them..Said the water was slightly off again..We did what we had to do when transfering them into the tank...We were wondering if the 2 young lads there read the readings correctly...In the end we had to buy some chemical to put in the water,

We had this happen with new fish we bought for our outdoor pond in the summer too.

Frank I will most proberly stay on at work until the end of the summer term now..I will see..
Jane ...Just read the bit about Chris bringing you a cup of tea in bed naked

Late hallo from me,
Ros had a call from Martine tonight to say her sister had droped dead. under 60 years of age and as fit as the butchers dog. To say the least she is devistated. Ros has offered her support if she needs it.

You can never tewll what life has to offer. Enjoy it while you can.

My right ear is as dead as a dodo. can't hear a thing. Ros put some olive oil in earlier, and it's completly shut down. The nurse said it was blocked and to massage the oil in for another week. Don't know if I will last that long.

I hope your ear soon recovers and keep adding the drops.

Take care of yourselves.

Morning Denise.

Frank , so sorry about the sad news, its very sad when someone passes away but when it's not expected it's worse.

Hate having blocked ears and not been able to hear, especially when it's in the middle of the night and its jet black, you can hear all the noises in the ear that are usually masked out through day time noises. Hope you manage to get it cleared soon.

My head is really heavy this morning and my nose like a running tap, I feel rotten, but luckly OH is working from home so he is going to give me a lift into town so I can visit the dentist, other wise I would feel pretty exausted if I had to walk,

Well here I am boys and girls.

Not nice here today dull ad cloudy but no wind and quite warm.

Sheila I do hope you have anice rest with hubby and the doggies. The place sounds lovely. Hope you will be eating out all the time so you don't have to cook. Makes a lot of difference that to a womens holiday. Poor old donnie can't do anything right can he??

LIZ I forgot to say I watch Island parish usually and loved the ones where the chap kept chickens and entered them in a show. The one about the fellow who had to learn to cook for himself too. I have'nt watched it reciently though but have seen it on Replay so I might just catch up.

Doc said I have'nt a prolapse and everything is just fine. If I am worried further to just go back and she will have another look!!!!!

Frank Cowslip Road was on a crossway. It was near the Sally Army place I think. The shop was where my dad was born 45 Victoria Rd but I can't be certain now. The shop was right on the corner and was a po as well. The door was in the middle of two big windows and one of them used to go up to let fresh air in. Remember those?? I have a picture somewhere of my dad and his brother John outside the shop on there bykes and in their scouts uniforms. Up from the shop towards the lower high st was a big row of garages, lock ups. That is where uncle Les kept a lot of his lathes and us kids often went down there and cleaned them up for him. Lots of rubbing with wire wool and sandpaper to get rust off. Child labour or what?? He did pay us though. Money for a trip to the pics up at the Majestic or the Flea Pit, whose real name escapes me at the mo. That one was on the top High St. My uncles Myle had the electrical shop next to the church along there and then there was the udertakers which I used when nan died. Was it The Odean?? I know there was an Odean at Gants Hill where we used to go to Saturday morning pics.

Denise mum was born in 1924 so would have been 12 when your rellie was born there.

Mum and I often went to Chigwell shopping on a Saturday afternoon when dad was watching a football match with grandad and first hubby. We had a friend who had the lovely mens wear chop along the parade there also childrens clothes and many a garment was bought there for my son. Lovely viela shirts with matching ties and a beautiful little navy and white romer suit for his first Christmas. I still have one of the suits bought there. Beige pants and a white jumper with beige trim and the pants had little braces with embrodery on them.

Frank Report 12 Jan 2012 11:33

Morning all,

Mel, have sent you a Ecard. If you have Denise's Email, can you let me have it please.

I think I may be getting Cowslip Road mixed up with "CHILDS CORNER" which was on the cross roads between Sth Woodford stn. and Chigwell Road. If you went up the hill you came to the Water works Roundabout. If you went down the road you came to the "TED's CAFE Roundabout, and the Roundabout Pub. You could turn left there and go to Woodford Bridge.

I know the shops you are talking about Opposite Chigwell Station. My Mum had a cleaning Job just round the corner from those shops.

Had a terrible night last night. Ros put Olive oil in my ear and it rummbled around in my ear and gave me a nasty ear ache. I also had a nice slice (THREE) of new bread and Double Gloucester Cheese with Chives and Garlic and onion in. To say the least I had terrible reflux right through the night. Only had a couple of cups of tea this morning. Give my tummy a rest.
