Afternoon all,

What a lovely day,we have sunshine !!!,its so bright i've had to close the blinds a bit .

Oh dear Frank , so you have the bug now !! hope you soon feel better , so many colds and tummy bugs about ,we need a good frost to kill some of the germs off.
I like to take Potters Pholcodine Pastilles they are good for tickly coughs ,the ones in the green coloured box my friend put me onto them and i find they are really good .

Our decorations have got as far as the front bedroom ,i think hubby's putting them away in the loft tomorrow .

I feel quite lazy today ,but i'd better get on with my jobs .

In glorious mud!

Hubby's just home ,when he dropped son off at his house DIL told him that Katie has got..... Chickenpox !!!

Son was a bit worried about DIL as she is pregnant ,but she had Chickenpox when she was younger , she went into bo*ts and they gave her some sort of cream for Katie, she has spots all over her chest !!

DIL explained that she was pregnant and they said she should be ok.

Katie has had several nights just lately where she won't settle and has been waking up all hours ,now we know why :-S

Looks more like rain now !!

Afternoon all,

I have heard from Liz, everything O.K. with the second scan. now waiting for Ian's test.

Have been in dressing gown all day, and wrapped in a fleece. Tried reading for a while but couldn't consentrate(sp) So watched Tele all day apart from popping on the computer. Ros has been getting me drinks all day long, and is doing me a jacket Potato, baked beans, cheese, and a bit of salad. for dinner/tea tonight. Don't feel like eating a big meal.

Poor little Katie, Chicken Pox aren't very nice for children, keep wanting to scratch them.!!!

Been dreaming today. Looking at SUMMER HOLIDAYS. Passports expired last November. So if we could afford one, the first expence will be new passports. (how much are they now??) But there again a trip to the Lake District, would be nice in May/June, a place I have never spent time at.

Been a nice day here, no wind or rain. but got very cloudy about 3.00pm
Not sure if we are due more rain tonight.

Might be back later, if i'm not in bed early.

Oh Dear more sickness. :-(.Frank I hope you have just been taking it easy today and doing absolutely nothing and that your aches and pains are easing now.
Poor little Katie.Chicken pox is so miserable. The spots come out in crops I think (or is that measles).I hope there is plenty of calamine lotion in the medicine cabinet.I think we had baths with Bicarb in to help as well.
Hopefully your DIL is past the number of weeks in her pregnancy to worry.Hannah and James both had it very badly when Hannah was about 4 and James maybe 18 months or so.I have a photo of James in the bath covered from head to toe in spots. He does look a very sorry sight :-S

So some of our decorations still haven't made it into the loft yet :-D.Mine have got as far as the top of the stairs.James said he will put them up in a minute. He said that this morning too :-S :-S

Meatballs and spaghetti for us tonight.Easy! Peasy!.All ready to just pop in the oven.

Gas chap came this afternoon to fit some silly basket thing on the outside flue.I haven't really worked out WHY.It looks like an old fashioned chip fat drainer sieve lol.
No rain here today but a bit nippy.

I think passports are now over £100 Frank :-0 :-0.
I see you are repeating yourself lol.I'll put it down to you not feeling 100%
great news for Liz isn't it.That will be a huge weight of her mind now.I'm sure Ian's test will be fine too.

My sister is due for her Knee Replacement on the 17th.But she went for her pre op assessment and her BP is sky high. :-S.They will need to get that down before they even consider operating.I am guessing she will be put on Meds now.I think she has an appointment this evening with her GP.

I think we are all feeling a bit flat now after Christmas and New Year .I say flat ....I feel blooming fat :-S :-S.Even fatter than i was before all the festivities.I must do something about it.
Easter coming next ;-). ;-)
Just about ready to dish up now (but I really want to see Eastenders).I might see if Chris is willing to hang on for another 30 minutes.I will probably get a dirty look.

Evening All,

I'm glad the news was good Liz. It must be a weight off your mind. Now there is Ian's test and then you will be back to sorting out for your new home! :-D

Poor little Katie with itchy spots on her chest. When my brother had chicken pox, he wouldn't get out of bed and come downstairs at first........didn't want us all to see his spots, he was quite upset about it!!!!

You have ALL my sympathy Frank!! I know just how you feel.......like rubbish, and not fancying your food!! It is a long time since I took to my bed with something like that, but I couldn't even be bothered with reading my xmas books. Keep warm and get lots of rest. If you get the cough, I found a drop of diluted lime juice helped, kept some at my bedside at night. I hope you soon feel better. :-) :-) <3

Our Xmas decs and tree are all boxed up and in the conservatory waiting to go in the loft. OH has this bright idea we should bring down MORE boxes from the loft to have a sort through and put everything back afterwards. There is a lot of stuff up there we don't need .....eg. stands to tvs we don't have anymore and polythene boxes of 'slim' clothes. OH has double breasted suits up there he can no longer get into and wouldn't wear now. I just feel he is being a bit ambitious...........maybe a box at a time and see how we go!

We took the slippers back to Hinckley this morning and OH had to drop me off in the carpark so I could walk to the shop as the carpark was full. Five minutes later he rang to say he'd found some street parking and would walk to meet me in the shop. The shop had a sign for refunds between 2 checkout tills, but there was no-one at one of the tills so I joined the BIG queue at the other. While I was waiting I saw OH through the shop window go striding by down the hill through the market stalls. I thought, why is he going by, must have forgotten where the shop is. Just as I got to the till, he rang to ask where I was. I had to be very brief......'opposite W H S*ith'.......I'm at the till. Then the lady at the till told me I would have to queue at the empty one for a refund. 'But there's no-one there' I said. 'Someone will come if you stand there,' she said. Not best pleased I moved across saying 'how are your customers supposed to know that?'.........no answer. A lady was despatched to deal with me after a few minutes. I explained the problem and gave her the receipt and she shook her head and said, 'I can't help you'. Fed up by now, and ready to quote the Shops Act, I said a bit sharply 'Why not!'. She took the wind out of my sails with two words.......WRONG SHOP!!!!!! lol. I said a lot of 'sorries' and then realised why OH had gone striding by........he was at the right shop!! lol Needless to say, he thought it was very funny and kept having a chuckle about it!! lol

Hi folks,

No wind today, WOW. 6 degrees in the sun seemed so much warmer.

We went out shopping today and a sign in a cafe made me think of all the silly signs there are about. I thought some of you might like to add some of your own. The sign today said "ALL DAY BREAKFAST - SERVED TILL 11AM" . There's also the 'EARS PIERCED WHILE YOU WAIT", or "LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE FOR AN M O T". Another one that always amuses me in shops is on an exit door where it says "THIS DOOR IS ALARMED" - i always think, THIS CUSTOMER IS TERRIFIED (OF THE PRICES). There used to be one on the tops of sealed jars
saying "PIERCE WITH A PIN AND PUSH OFF"

I'm sure you can all add to this and I look forward to reading them. Catch you all later.

Yes, I slunk out quickly, Jane. OH met me between the 2 shops, sniggering.......he knows me and had worked out what had happened!!! lol

He's never forgotten the time he was dropping his car off for service and I followed on five minutes later to go and pick him up. He was waiting outside the garage for me.........I was sitting in my car outside the garage he USED to go to. lol It was before mobile phones too!!! Eventually the penny dropped and I realised and scooted off to the right one. He was not happy standing out in the cold.

Hi Shirl, where is your new pic taken? Is that a drinkie winkie I can see.......and shopping?
