Oh Kim, I missed your post. What a worry for you, now your son at hospital!! Thank goodness for his friend and his friend's mum or he might be still lying somewhere. As you say, wiping yourself out is not the way to deal with life's ups and downs and it is so unfair to you. It must be hard to believe he has done this.

Happy New Year to everyone, just taking some time out before I start cooking, I've got plenty of time as they won't be arriving till 8.00 and it's only the four of us.

I did enjoy reading your Maisie story Sheila, lovely to have such memories. I agree it's high time you had a bit of you time, you do so much for everyone else, take a step back and spoil yourself.

I've got one of those colds that you think has gone away and then it's back, sore throat's gone but my head is all muzzy, and that's before the wine :-D

Well we've been all afternoon sorting out the tables for tomorrow ,had to put two tables together in the end to seat everyone,we kept turning the tables one way then we tried them round the other way ,hubby wanted to do it in the morning but i wanted to get it done and it was a good job we did ,taking all that time !!!
I have cooked the beef today ,and sliced it all up ready to just heat through ,cooked another piece of Gammon for tea and done all the veg ,put that in the spare fridge in the shed ,made a trifle and lots of other bits,now need to sort out what we are having tonight for tea .

I remember going to a fancy dress party one new years eve ,our friends had a restaurant in the town and just after midnight there we were dancing the conga round the town ,my friend kissed a policeman and he danced along with us !!! i think i was dressed as a witch and hubby went as Billy Bunter ,he didn't need any padding out !! LOL

Maureen have a lovely meal tonight with your friends .

OMG Kim, I've just read your post and it takes me right back, my son was about 16 when he did exactly the same thing J Danie** a whole bottle one of my daughers and I were at the hospital till the early hours, when we went back the next day the charge nurse had read him the riot act and I felt so sorry for him, must admit I'd had a few 'adventures' myself as a teenager. He's only had a couple of blips not bad when you think of the trouble they could get into and has really settled down now with his partner and little boy. I don't suppose you will be able to relax tonight.

That sounds like a party to remember Mandy. This is the first time I've done anything for New Year usually go to bed before midnight.

I keep nibbling on the crisps and nuts I've put out, won't be any left at this rate and I'll be too full up for dinner. I'm being very good and won't pour a glass of wine until they arrive, or there won't be much of that left either :-D

I do hope this will teach poor Joel a lesson for the future. I am thinking of you all and wishing that your little boy will be ok.

OH, Daughter & boyfriend playing golf on the Wii, poor MIL having to sit there and watch she has not much choice, I have just put the dishwasher on and now I want to put some clean washing away before I sit and down & relax,

Don't think we will be up to see the bells tonight but will probably know when it's midnight, as there is always lots of fireworks set off.

Ooh Mandy! Don't mention Chocolate.I don't think I could get one past my lips tonight.I feel a bit ikky now after a rather spicy Pizza.There are 2 boxes of Chocs looking at me lol.

I feel as though I am just about ready for my bed never mind sitting up to see the New Year in.James and Jess are just getting ready for the off ,and when Chris gets back from dropping them at the party he is going to come back and enjoy some biscuits and Stilton and a glass or 2 of Port.

I have a lovely sweet smelling Chester now :-D :-D.What a difference lol
I wonder is our Frank still in the dark in the Conservatory ;-) ;-)
