Hi Everyone, hope you all had a really good Christmas. Hard for me to get back into my normal routine after feasting every day for the past 4 days.
So what did Santa bring everyone, or have you already mentioned it, I haven't been able to read all the posts.
Hope your cold and chest infection is clearing up Ann, I've picked up a cold, it's not too bad at the moment but will probably get worse by this evening.
It was a joy to watch Finley opening his presents, his little face was a picture, have taken some photos, must sort them out, and Harry was as good as gold, sat playing with his toys for ages.
I got a Kindle, which was a big surprise as it wasn't something I had asked for or particularly wanted, but I don't want to sound ungrateful, I'm sure I will get so used to it I won't know how I ever got on without one. the trouble is I have a book case full of books still waiting to be read. Also some Chanel, which I did want, and a lovely personal calender my daughter does every year, the theme this year were photos of my mum and dad.
Loved the photos of all the Christmas trees and Chester certainly looked very interested in what was in the oven Jane, hope he got his share of the turkey.

Mandy this is what I received from Anne.
Hi Everyone Have just been reading today's posts and it looks as though everyone is very busy with visitors. Our family arrive tomorrow and we have been doing some preparation today. Thought I would make a Beef and Ale casserole for tomorrow evening but casserole dish managed to explode whilst I was browning the meat, the ring caught fire when the oil hit it and all my kitchen cleaning of this morning was ruined as smoke everywhere. The ironic part being the fact that I could not call hubby to help as he was ringing insurance company to renew house insurance( you could not make this up) Anyway all's well now other than the loss of my best Casserole Dish. Hope everyone has a splendid New Year and will be back soon Love Anne

Hi Everyone,
Your poor daughter Kim.....that sounds very frightening. I hope she is ok and as Mel said, she is in the best place. I have never had an eye ulcer, but it sounds really painful.
That must have been a bit of a shock Liz. I hope you don't have to wait long for the further tests and results as I know I would be worried until then.
I did get more sleep last night and removed the 2 extra pillows and have stayed up pottering about today. I rang the chemist this morning as I thought d my tablets were 1 a day, but the box said 2 and this chemist has got things wrong before. They checked for me and it is 2 a day, double the usual dose the leaflet says for lung infection!! My chest was so noisy early this morning when I was half asleep I thought it was a cat miaowing outside!!! lol I even got up to look out of the window! Fingers crossed I am starting to improve and will be okay now and just need to take it easy for a few days.
Pat and Maureen, I hope your colds aren't too bad and soon clear up. Happy birthday to your grandaughter Pat....put your earplugs in!!! Maureen, most people seem to love their Kindle when they get used to it......be less to carry on holiday!! I can just picture little Finley's eyes like saucers when he opened his pressies.
Mandy, the binmen themselves are pests around here. Our main bin doesn't have much in by the time all the recycling stuff is sorted. We put everything in the main bin in old carrier bags to keep the bin clean. What do the binmen do...........empty other people's into ours, muckying it all up and making it smell!! Of course some of it misses and lands on our drive too. I don't know why they pick ours!!! :-S It is marvellous how they can pick up big wheelie bins to do that, yet they can be too heavy if we overfill them!!
Frank, how disgusting they have been stealing the brass plaques!! It really is time that punishments were more fitting. No respect for people, property or the dead anymore. I wonder if people in the future will call these the good old days?

Shirl, I was thinking how awful it was for you this time last year. Things can change so unexpectedly can't they, and the first year it must be particularly hard for anyone who has lost a loved one.
Mandy how strange about the scan and them making a slip up like that!
Frank, we would often have cold meat on Mondays, left from the Sunday roast, with chips, peas and sauce!! OH likes his cold meat and pickles on Xmas Eve! That is too good a bargain to miss on your glasses!!
Well, I better start doing the New Year resolutions list.......it will take me quite a while I think.........and that is just to do OH's!!!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D
Looking forward to Great Expectations again tonight!!

Ann, glad your feeling a little better ,take it easy and rest ,sounds bad if your wheezing like that !!
We've had cold ham with veg and cheese sauce today ,still trying to use up the ham !!!

Evening All Oh Golly Gosh I am so tired. It's hit me like a brick :-S.At least now it is just James and Jess here,so I can relax a bit now.
I haven't gone through all the posts this afternoon I'm afraid as I have been dozing, and booking a week away in Sept.My massive ironing pile that I had all ready to start is still sitting here.
Liz I was told that it often happens that people get recalled for mammograms.Sometimes the Xrays aren't that clear and need to be redone.I hope that is all that needs doing for you.
Kim,how is your Daughter tonight? That sounded quite scary for you to see her suddenly become ill like that.
Shirl. It must have been a strange Christmas for you this year without O G,but as someone said it was good that you had your family with you. Hi Maureen ,and Fiona ,nice to see you both back. Frank that is dreadful those thieves stealing plaques from graves. How low can someone get :-S :-S :-S
Ann,I did smile when I read you went to look out the window for a cat ,and it was your chest :-D :-D Hopefully you will make huge improvements now that you have your anti Bs.
Well now I must think about something very easy for dinner.I reckon it will be cold gammon, oven chips, and an egg or two.I just cannot muster up any enthusiasm to do anything else lol

Tooth was pinned rather than pulled yesterday. She indicated the tooth was strong with no decay. Suspect she intends putting a crown on it.
Often wish I'd taken grater care of them when I was younger

Don't we all David, I'm down to six, one of which is very loose. I will extract that myself as and when.
Jane, It would appear you have beed overdoing things a bit, get a good nights rest. Hope you have more energy tomorrow.
You can never be sure of these casserole dishes, I once took one out of the oven placed it on the chopping board, and it just fell apart. I now always use the Strong Metal type. No trouble with them !!!
Have just SKYPED Conrad. They are back from Devon. Took Ella (Jan's G'Daughter to her other daughters till Saturday. Kerry will love that. she dosen't have any children of her own, and loves the little one to bits.
Maureen you will love your Kindle when you get use to it. Mine slid of the bed last night and landed on the mat. It lost the book I was rerading. The trouble is, once you start a book, you don't see the title again. There is a bit that you can click on to continue reading. But that comes up with "NO BOOK" I have searched for it this afternoon, but with over 1000 books, it's not easy. The trouble is I was on page 104 of 395. and it was a good book. Hopefully I will find it sometime
Have a good evening, what's left of it, See you in the morning. GOD BLESS

Hello everyone,
Just popping in quickly. Thanks to everyone for thinking about my daughter. They sent her home in the wee hours of this morning and she walked in and was sick everywhere :-S She's very listless and weak today. They sent off a poo sample as it had turned red. It will take a few days for results, so will have to book a doctor's appt. for next week. Hoping she's more herself in a few days. Had a temp. too, so it is a pretty nasty bug.
Slightly warmer today, but windy. Got some washing done.
Liz all the best with the tests when you have them.
Ann are you feeling any better today??
Off to the couch for a while. Not sure what delights are on tv tonight ;-)
Best wishes everyone. 9.18 pm DST
