Hi Folks,
Last night I thought I'd be a bit better, but I was sweating and then shivering for hours. OH had to get me a hot water bottle (he is in the other bedroom trying to catch up on sleep!!!) I did get a bit more sleep though but this morning my ribs hurt with all the coughing. OH said I looked awful and I felt it, so got an appt at the docs. She agreed that I have a chest infection, gave me some antibiotics I've not had before and said to definitely come back by Friday if the cough is not improving by then. The surgery had several others in there trying to stifle their coughs too......tis the season for it. Hope you are okay David and that you are without that troublesome tooth now.
Jane, I don't know how you cope with all your visitors and feeding them. You have more stamina than me!! lol Funny you said about your neighbours fridge. We noticed a Br*tish Gas vehicle next door frequently a few weeks before Christmas. We thought the widow who lives there must be having a new boiler and trouble with it or something. Anyway, it was there Christmas Day and as fast as I thought to offer to help I realised our oven was FULL with the turkey!! Then we thought about it and realised it may be a boyfriend????
Kim, we always get the Scrabble out at Christmas!!! OH gets fed up if I take too long, but it is something I can beat him at. I watched Countdown for years and I think that was good training for Scrabble.
Mel, I would let your OH cook the next meal, so you can do the 'ungrateful' bit!! Men don't realise what a chore it can be just thinking up and preparing meals. Mine knows I would be only too willing for him to have the job!!! :-D :-D lol
Mandy, I bet it was nice to have a walk by the sea and blow the cobwebs away. Scans are amazing aren't they. I bet in years to come they will be photograph quality too.
I have just checked our bin rota and the recycling won't be collected till the 10th January!!!! Might have to do a run to the tip ourselves with all the papers before then. Some days we end up with 4 papers!!

Hello everyone,
Another dull and windy day here. Can't fathom this weather, but I'm glad it's not hot.
We have had a few burglaries around here and a neighbour told me that a house was burgled in the next suburb last night whilst two women slept. How scary and thank goodness they weren't hurt. We get a lot of home invasions and they usually bash people silly or even kill. Shocking crimes these days :-| Pat keep everything locked. They are very keen if they are breaking into occupied houses. Hope you stay free of that cold too.
Liz, the news here said Phillip might go pleasant shooting. I thought that was wishful thinking (probably on the part of the media). Hope he recovers quickly.
Ann hope the infection is improving now you have your antibiotics. Can't stand having a hacking cough - leaves you wrung out. We usually play Scrabble during the holidays and especially if my son happens to be home. He is around a lot at the moment, hasn't been well and needed the doctor last week.
Love Simon and Garfunkel - really loved "So Long Frank Lloyd-Wright", just a little different to the others and of course all the favourites too. I don't sing aloud any more, my OH says I sound like a cat in the back alley. How rude!!!!
I woke this morning with an ulcer on the inside of my bottom eyelid. Has anyone had one of these before?? I never have and it is scratchy and very sore. I was going to get my eyes checked as I had to cancel the last appointment, but I might have to leave that until this clears up.
Mandy will be interesting to see if it is the wrong scan.
Shirl you will get my email when you wake. I have covered what you have posted. Keep warm bloss.
Jane any news on how they are doing in Dubai. It's heavy going to be sure. How long will Rachael's brother be staying with you?? You have probably answered this in your post, but I can't go back to look or I will lose everything.
Bins out tonight, they are full as. Recycling bin tomorrow too, not that we had much in the way of bottles, lol. I didn't drink this year ;-)
Home-made pizza for tea tonight. Smells great from where I'm sitting.
Love to everyone I have not mentioned. Take care. 7.15 pm DST

Morning All,
Wet windy and waining here.
Another usual day then........
Ann I do hope the antibiotics kick in quickly for you as that sounds like a nasty thing you have there. Thoughts for a speedy recovery now you have some pills.
Kim I have had an ulcer in my eye a couple of times. well I thinjk thats what it was. It made my eye water a lot and sting ad felt like I had a nasty piece of grit in it all the time. It only lsted about two days I think. Bl**dy annoying though. When I looked in the mirror it was like a tiny bubble just inside the eyelid. Used optrex on it.
Any news on that scan Mandy??
Must shoot up the local shop and get some milk as we seem to have run out.
BBL.

I think Kim, we could have been a bit at crossed purposes. Perhaps in Australia 'hunting' covers all country sports, whereas if you say you are going hunting here it is recognised as just riding to hounds (NOT for P.P!!) culling Foxes etc - Shooting and Fishing, are referred to as just that and not as hunting!!!!! Don't ask why, 'cos I don't know , but that is it !! Anyway, thank you for your good wishes for P.P. He certainly is a very stalwart chap, and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he were joining in a little light shooting!! Windy old day here, just right for a good walk - well, maybe later!!! Have been given a whole load of exercises for my back from the Physio. She was a lovely lady and really helpful, so must work at getting more mobile and less stiff.

Morning everyone,
Oh Shirl snow !!! you are welcome to it ,its quite mild here again ,nice and sunny now after a little rain first thing .
Kim, just the thought of that ulcer in your eyelid makes my eyes water ,i've had a stye on my eye lid ,they are irritating .
Pat have a nice day at your sons, and Happy Birthday to your grand daughter ,hope your cold soon clears up .
Our bin went out last night ready for collection some time today ,we had an extra bag that we couldn't get in so we put that out this morning just in case the cats pulled it about !! When hubby went to put it out some one had put about six full bags near our bin !!! why they couldn't put them near there own bin i don't know !!!
No Mel , i rang son last night to see what he thought about it and he said he was sure it was the right scan !! so i suppose they are leaving it at that !! i think i would be ringing the hospital !! but its up to them . Its the next one that they will be able to tell the sex of the baby and will be much clearer .
Hope you have a better night Ann and that the antibiotics are beginning to help a little , get back to the doctor if your no better , don't get bad like i was last year !!!
Might have a walk to the shops in a while .

Doesn't rain, but........... daughter gone to hospital with either food poisoning or a terrible gastro bug. She was fine this afternoon and then wham. Her eyes were rolling back in her head and she was screaming. It's very frightening to watch, even when they are 17. She's got a bed already, so that would be a record. This is the same hospital I went to a few months back. Let's hope a good doctor is on tonight :-S
Mel will just try to keep it moist with the gel drops I use. Maybe all this wind has dried them out. It's not humid at all, very strange weather for this time of year, although Christmas Day was pretty warm.
Mandy, don't give me grandchildren yet, lol. Hope Pat copes with her cold and the trip. I remember having a stye as a kid, they are not nice either.
Jane glad to hear that they MIGHT be sorting things. Hope so for that lovely baby's sake.
Hi to Ann if she gets on today. Hope that cough improves.
Might go and watch a movie to fill in some long hours. Might even be back later. :-S

Afternoon all,
My, you have been busy since I last posted..
Snow for the New year then Shirl. I remembered it was a year for the passing of O.G. Hope you coped allright, It was nice that the children wrere around for you.
Annx, I have the same trouble, trying to think what to get for dinner each day. But with being away at Christmas means I haven't got any cold turkey and ham for one of my favourite meals. Cold MEATS. CHIPS, and PICKLES. Ros dosen't care for it so usually has Salad. I have a Turkey crown in the freezer with a nice ham, so we can enjoy that after nrew year.
I have just wiped a 15 line post about our local crimes. I dare not post it or I would be locked up.!!! The little Bastar#s have targeted the local cemetary and stolen over 50 plaques from the gardens, all brass of course.Give them to me for a hour. !!!!
I was right yesterday, Matalan was her final destination, and came home with quite a few "BARGAINS" :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 "MORE EXPENCE" I'm sure she diodn't need them, but you women, won't let a bargain pass by, will you ???
I must get to the optictions after the new year. To get my glass's marked up . LARA. Julia's daughter can get me the full monty type lens's put into my existing frames for just over £100.00. And can get it done through her firm in about 5 days. Julia tells me the optictions will mark the lens's where the centre of my eye is, and Lara's firm can work from that. I will havre to ring Lara and get full instructions, are go to her business address and have them sorted there. But what a difference in price.
Trust all you sickies are feeling a bit better and will soon be back to normal.
Mel, I have just got Pastry and Sausage meat out of freezer. will make some sausage rolls later.

Still wet windy and waining.
We had fishing sandwiches for lunch. Well thats what oh calls them as he always took egg and tomato sarnies fishing.
What a terrible thing about Anne's casserole dish. I wonder what kind it was????
I never bother to brown my meat anyway as I don't see any difference really and it only makes more work. I remember seeing a Jamie Oliver program where he did two casseroles of beef one he browned and one he did'nt and he said he could'nt tell the difference and the same with mince.
I wonder if anyone still takes hard boiled eggs on picnics anymore??? In their shells I mean?

That will be a good saving if you can get your glasses done for that price Frank. More money for Ros to spend at the sales :-D :-D :-D :-D
Son and DIL are back from the hospital, the scan was the right photo, but the name was wrong ,anyway they scanned her again ,refunded the money for the old photo's and didn't charge them for the new ones .
Really windy here and the rain is now coming down.
