Can't Pat
Received 2 picture attatched to an e-mail some weeks ago.
Was certain it was you.
One was beside a church window.
Thought I'd put pictures in a folder suitably named.
Can't find it.
Have emptied my inbox a couple of time since then.
Should checked my received box

Frank ,you know I NEVER moan :-D.We asked the man at the garage if he would check the wipers as the back one won't go at all and washers on the front aren't squirting. He reckoned the motor on the back one has gone and said it's £300 for a new one :-0 :-0 :-0.I think we will leave that one for now !

David do you mean the photo of the reflection of light from the windows in Palma Cathedral?I think that was Pat when she was on holiday .

Lucky Lewis.I could quite fancy a bacon sarnie, but think I will have some cheese and crackers.I seem to have bought several boxes of those biscuits for cheese and they are all in the Xmas box so will nick some from there.

Five hours ironing today and just a few tomorrow and that will be it for a couple of weeks, having next week off.

I have read some Jodi Picoult books Pat, but have read so many books unless I hear a bit of the story I wouldn't remember it by just the title.

Finley didn't like Santa much either Fiona, wouldn't go anywhere near him, I bet next year he will be up there at the front of the queue giving him a great long list of what he wants, it'll be Harry next year I expect who won't go near him.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Dec 2011 16:51

What a shame your Daughter didn't manage to get a pic of Sofia with Santa Fiona.Never mind ,there will be next year :-D.I bet Sofia will be worn out now after the party .I always think the little ones get over awed and over tired at this time of year as there is so much going on.

Maureen I bet you will be pleased to put your big Iron thingy away for a while :-D.People will have to do their own for a little while lol.Of course there is mine ;-).

I expect Robby will turn up again Mel.He may have had a better offer somewhere else today lol.Ot maybe he is full up from the ones you put out earlier.
Any news from those people today???

I have just put a load of presents under the tree. They were getting in my way :-STrouble is I still need to have a bit of a space clear for me to get to pull the curtains..........I'm not complaining FRANK ;-).Well I might be a bit
:-S

Maureen

Maureen Report 20 Dec 2011 16:54

Maureen Report 20 Dec 2011 17:19

No, doesn't ring any bells Pat. The book I've just finished is For One More Day by Mitch Albom who also wrote The Five People You Meet In Heaven.

Have you got a Kindle people I know that have one think they are fantastic but I think I would miss a book.

David

David Report 20 Dec 2011 17:42

Don't pay £300 for a new motor.
Probably all that's needed are replacement armature brushes.
Cost about a fiver xx

David

David Report 20 Dec 2011 17:49

Thanks Pat,they're appreciated.

Dentist midday tomorrow.

Had a tooth pulled a week ago.Two days later a tooth on the other side cracked.

See me having soup and rice for my Christmas dinner.

If I don't come back on I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Dec 2011 17:50

Don't worry David ,we will not be paying that for a new Motor .He will have to make do without a back windscreen wiper :-D I think there may be a hole in the exhaust too :-S :-S

Maureen ,Chris has a Kindle and loves it.He has bought Hannah and James one each for Xmas. Not sure how I would like one.I do like having a 'proper ' book.

Frank

Frank Report 20 Dec 2011 18:07

Maureen, It's the best thing Ros has bought me. We got a SONY E reader on reccommendation of a friend. He has plenty of £££££ and has tried all makes. Went back to Sony. It's so nice and light, and you turn the pages with one of two buttons. The best part for me that most books come with THREE SIZES on PRINT. Which with my eyes is great.

I bought mine on Ebay 2nd hand. with a leather screen cover.(which I never use) Comes with charging lead etc. GO ON. you know you want one !!!

Now ROBBY has been, he will be back, I am sure. We had a blackbird, that would peck the conservatory door for food, but haven't seen him for some time. Certainly not as many birds around the garden this year.

Not my afternoon for a doze, just going off, when the letter box went, someone delivering a xmas card. was nearly off again, when Ros rang.So gave it up as a poor job, Should sleep better tonight without it, provided I don't drop of this evening.

Have decided to do a starter for Thursday. Melon or advacado with prawns and smoked salmon. If anyone dosen't like salmon or prawns they can have MELON with a dusting of ginger or Brixworth pate and Melba Toast.
.Also to do beef, slow cooked in the oven with ROAST or MASH, Red cabbage with onions and beetroot. Brussels, and Roast parsnips and carrots in honey.

No sweet, unless Ros decides to make something.

Cheese selections with biscuits.
If that's not to their liking, they can have a CHEESE SANDWICH and lump it :-) :-) :-)

Jane

Jane Report 20 Dec 2011 18:42

Frank ,that sounds a lovely meal.I am having trouble deciding what to do as a starter for Christmas day.It will have to be something easy, and also something I don't need to cook.I find Brixworth Pate quite garlicky and strong, and I always think the smell of it comes out of my pores and breath for days :-S :-S
I never see it on sale here either which surprises me as it is a local thing.

David I'm sure you will pop in before Christmas .But just in case you Don't
I wish you and Ellen a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.(I sang that for you .....shame you couldn't hear it ;-) ;-) ;-))

Tracey Report 20 Dec 2011 20:14

FRANK SOUNDS GREAT CAN I COME --LIKE RED CABBAGE ONION--DO YOU JUST BOIL THE BEETROOTS--I'VE ONLY HAD THEM PICKLED OR SWEET AND SOUR--- THATS ALL THE FOOD I LOVE .--WITH THE MELON OR CANTALOUPE HAVE YOU EVER PUT A DASH OF PEPPER ON IT -BRINGS OUT THE FLAVOUR

DAVE & ELLEN I WISH YOU A MERRY XMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
AND ALL THE BEST IN 2012 :-) :-) :-)

Annx Report 20 Dec 2011 20:46

Frank, they'll be spoiled for choice!! It would be the melon or pate for me in just in case you lay an extra plate! :-D

I went to Sains*ury's this morning and thankfully it was pretty quiet so I just need to get the perishables on Thursday now.......unless I remember something else!! lol

OH seems a lot better today, which is good as he has to be up at 6.00am tomorrow to take his mum to a hospital appointment. This one is to do with a slight prolapse she has. The bladder pain is still being investigated at Coventry and she is waiting for test results on that, but they say the prolapse is too slight to be affecting things. She was convinced Coventry were wrong and that it is the prolapse and once her mind is set......!!! They have ruled out anything nasty which is good. From what she says and looking on the internet (I know we shouldn't!) it sounds like Interstitial Cystitus to me, but we should soon get a diagnosis. She is convinced there will be a cure, but I suspect it may be something that will have to be managed rather than cured and she doesn't always do what the doctor says!!!

I was quite shocked by a programme I watched last night that I'd recorded. It was showing in America some of the people who were hardworking and had lost their jobs and then their homes. It said the government was not responsible for providing homes for the homeless in some areas, so people were living in tents and their cars!! It said in Orlando that between 300-600 people are sleeping in their cars in parking lots at night!!!! It showed one mother and her 5 children in a car. Some had been living in 5 bedroom homes before.

It's good the buiders are making headway Fiona, each bit done is nearer the finish of it. I'm glad your snow has nearly gone, it is so difficult to walk when it is icy like that. I bet your whole body ached with holding yourself tense. I keep looking at those clip on things for your shoes when it is icy and wondering whether to get some. I remember mum getting me to put a pair of dad's old socks over my shoes to stop me slipping when I was little.

I hope you can manage your Christmas Dinner David. I should think the dentist would sort that for you quickly. I hope you and Ellen have a lovely Christmas too and a Happy New Year 2012.

:-) :-) :-) :-)
