I've done it again. Got in a right old strap, trying to pack the last present for Ros, Selotape has travelled up and down the lounge this morning lol lol. How does one handle that stuff with a doddgy hand BLOO#Y impossible Good job I am alone. Don't know if the neighbours heard me !!!!

I think Lewis packs up tomorrow, He will be at scouts tomorrow night, Football Sunday morning, then up to us in the afternoon, I suppose I will be cooking roast dinner for him and his Mum and Dad

Have sold another Item on Ebay, but not sure if I have charges enough postage, to late now, will have to stand the loss, if I haven't.

Cold old blow again this morning, I'm not cleaning the cooker after all, worn myself up into a frenzy, and I don't want to start thowing the cooker parts around the kitchen.

Going to sit and relax with my book for an hour.

Pass on my best wishes to Catie too please Frank, didn't she live in Wimbledon and play in an orchestra.

Christmas shopping all done, cards all sent, can relax now and wait for the big day, it will be like having two Christmas days this year, one on the day and two days later when everyone will be together.

Glad your panels are now up Mel, it is a worry when things drag on.

Hope you are feeling better Kim, at least that was some good news from the hospital.

F Report 15 Dec 2011 16:04

Hi Everyone,

I've just been to visit Catie and she's asked me to leave a little message to thank you all for your best wishes, and to fill you in on all the details :-)

Annelie is beautiful. The nurses at the hospital called her 'Little Miss Rosebud' and I can see why. She's very blond (like Catie) and has such delicate little features. Catie says Annelie is named after her grandmother who is Swedish. Such a pretty name and it really suits her. She weighed 7lbs at birth and was delivered 3 weeks early as Catie wasn't at all well in the latter part of the pregnancy. However, they are both doing really well, which is such good news.

Baby Mark is now walking and talking. He's a smashing little boy and a real credit to Catie who has been his main carer since the loss of Nicky. The twins have coped well with the loss of their mum and are doing well at school. Catie's BIL has made tremendous strides since his breakdown and has now returned to work and is coping well with the children. He's been through such a terrible time, but Catie and Andrew have been with him every step of the way.

Catie wishes everyone a very 'Happy Xmas' :)

Happy Xmas from me too :)

Thanks Lorraine :-D
This is wonderful news.I did send Catie an email to congratulate her on the birth of Annelie and it was nice to hear from her.
I bet the baby is just beautiful.
I'm so pleased that Mark and the girls are doing fine and that her BIL has made such a brilliant recovery and can now enjoy his little family although it must be so difficult knowing they will not have Nicky there to see them grow up.
What a dreadful time it was,but what an amazing family. <3
Christmas greetings from me to them and you,and a very Happy 2012 xxx

Evening All

Porch gone and wow it's cold, only need to go out of back door when doing the washing.

Went to the local hospital and saw the Dr about my low white blood cells , he says the blood tests came back and it showed I had a very slow thyroid, at the moment everything is ok, but they expect that in a year or two it may turn into an under active thyroid so I will have to take medication, and I am to watch my weight as well as it is known that with a underactive thyriod you can put a lot of weight on. even though I want to put weight on i need to keep an eye on it in the future.

daughter's boyfriend making the dinner tonight, chicken & bacon mayo, and peas's with bake potato.

Still need to Ice our christmas cake , will do it on Saturday,

Hi well had a lovely day with Beryl shopping and Donnies got a car an S register Renault. Donnie does have a driving licence but had his licence taken away for a year some time ago . I wont be a passenger in his car and I hope he does not injure my friend or worse. We were looking at baby clothes today for Cassies younger daughter shes just had a little girl
called Melly Jane . I bought her a few all in ones boring but always useful.

Beryl and I then went to paint a fairy day at the childrens hospice .We all had to paint a fairy for charity and they will be on the wall in the corridor.
I managed a fairy Queen and called it MEL sorry Mel but your my fairy queen. April thought that was wonderful she said Mel is our fairy queen she seems to have adopted you. I showed her the picture on the site.
Do be careful Mel falling over . I cringe now when someone falls after my episode . I hope you are ok.

Fiona how nice you putting something in the paper for your mum .
Amanda only I could be sorry for your floods and it was the washing machine lol. Well hope that ok anyway.

Today the man who was burnt came in our shop minus fingers on his left hand which were burnt so badly he had to have them removed. They have caught someone for the crime. He is coming up to his trial fairly soon next week I think. It seemed the man went into the garage where the two men who drank were sleeping opened up the gas cylinder and it exploded the man who lost his fingers got out but the man who died was trapped so his mate went in to try and get him out but the fire was too intense and of course he died. My ho was talking to him but the council found him a nice flat and he seems to be doing well.

Beryls fairy was lopped sided and the organizer said Beryl the fairy looks a bit dipsy and Beryl said no shes drunk its Christmas. I nearly died and
the lady Mrs Gregg said well everyone helps for the charity. We all paid to paint the fairy.

I watched Michael Crawford in Some Mothers Do Have Em and Frank went for a flying lesson and the Instructor said to him do you know anything about flying Frank said yes of course I know all about Douglas Bader and then there was that Frier Tuck. That made me giggle.

I think it must be nice to have horses and snow but a problem to keep them warm . My sister in laws got two and she spends a fortune in hay and stuff in Winter. I would love a horse like Liz.

Oh Kim how are you glad your tests were ok and I see you enjoyed my story with your husband of Sheep and his poo on my seat .I did have a lot of trouble getting him on the seat. I had to lift him up and push him by his bum and coax him to sit down he kept going baa baa all the way to the vets and getting him out the car was terrible he had turned round and
his head was facing me and I grabbed hold of him and he just jumped over my head out the car and ran off. Out and down the high street he went
and only stopped at the greengrocers to munch on a cabbage. The greengrocer had a sense of humour thank goodness and getting the dam animal into the vets was dreadful . I tied a rope on him and pulled him in and then they made me go round the back . Coming back was not too bad because the vet sent a man to take him to the car and he put him in. The car was very smelly and my seat had a hole in it .Mat collasped with laughter . My days on the farm were not good I was hopeless and
the worse time was at night when on my own was scared stiif feeding the animals.

Fiona will the new porch be up before Xmas or will you have to wait until after ?
I can't see you having to worry about putting on too much weight yet a while ;-) ;-)Hopefully you can manage for a long time before you need any medication for your thyroid.

Frank.I know you haven't cleaned your oven today ,but you always seem to be doing it.If you are that keen on the job I'll pay you to come and do mine :-D :-D :-D
You would have been disgusted to see the state of the inner glass door of my main oven.I tried cleaning it a few weeks ago without success so today I have used that Ovenpri** where you wear gloves and pour lethal stuff into a big bag and soak for hours...........clean as a whistle now :-D :-D.Well almost ,just missed a few little bits around the edges.I will now be able to see my food cooking

Jane Report 15 Dec 2011 18:56

Sheila .That's good that the man is doing well and has a flat. How sad though that that awful thing happened and that 2 people died.
I bet that was fun painting your Fairies at the Childrens Hospice with Beryl :-D
That is a lovely thing to do.
As for Donnie and his ancient car.Good thing you refuse to be a passenger.I hope Beryl stays safe.
Nothing wrong with buying all in ones for the new baby. They need plenty and can't have enough.Great name Melly Jane ;-)

I have refused to light the fire today.Have 2 unhappy men and a dog lol
I am fed up clearing the flipping thing out every morning .I said if everyone just remembered to shut doors we wouldn't need it.It's like talking to a brick wall lol.

Now ,are we going to have snow tomorrow morning??? Looks possible, just a little.I am meeting a friend over at Waitr*** in Rushden for a coffee at 11am so hope it will be ok and at 9am I have an appointment to get a few stragglers on my chinny chin chin sorted
Very easy and not healthy dinner tonight .Southern Fried Chicken and Chips .Just need to decide what veg to have as Chris has to have his veg!

Oh Bless ,I have just seen a lovely old Gent on the News celebrating his 108th Birthday. He was talking about his memory of when he was 4 making a truck and making a mess and being told off by his parents.

Annx Report 15 Dec 2011 19:44

Yes Shirl is right, you do put weight on! I was told I was borderline in 1995 Fiona and had annual blood tests after that. Within 2 years I was on medication. The main things I found were that I used to get exhausted quickly, had a poor memory and found it hard to concentrate. Not easy when you work full time and have to learn things all the time!! I just take a daily tiny tablet for the rest of my life now. The good thing is, at least in England, that ALL your prescriptions for EVERYTHING are free once you need medication.

Ohh Mel, nearly another slip up then! You'll be spending Xmas in bandages at this rate!! I stepped out of the conservatory last week and nearly went headfirst!! I'd been using the back door since the patio was done, but it was cold so I thought I'd go the shorter way to the garage. I'd forgotten we don't have a step there now. :-0 The schools around here break up tomorrow.

I had washed the bed valance and was going to iron it as OH doesn't use the 'huffer' on the iron that gives you more steam and he couldn't get the creases all out. I got the ironing board up but it was listing to one side and wobbly. Looked underneath and one of the tubular legs has broken (OH hadn't noticed it before). I decided to push on and got the valance in position and pressed the steam button......BIG MISTAKE! Out came a splurge of black watery gunge all over the clean valance!!! I should have realised with OH not using it and tested it on an old towel or something............the valance is back in the washing machine now. lol

The christmas tree is up and my little lighted twig thing, but there must be another box in the loft as the top stuff for the tree and bauble hangers are missing and of course OH is out at a meeting now so it will have to wait till tomorrow. I don't seem to have made much progress today. :-S

While we were in a shop this morning, OH suddenly appeared in a a grey herringbone tweed flat cap!!!! He was trying it on as he knows I'm not keen and knew it would make me chuckle........reminds me too much of my grandad's!!! lol Anyway, I don't know how it happened but I agreed to buy it for him! lol I've told him I may have to walk the other side of the road when I'm with him though. He had one years ago before I met him, but was wearing Fedoras by the time I knew him. I won't tell him, but it does quite suit him......he just needs the muffler, waiscoat and pocket watch to look like grandad now!!!!! :-D I must see if I can get a pic of him in it to send.

Jane

Jane Report 15 Dec 2011 22:10

Can't wait to see that pic Ann ;-)Will he wearing Britches too lol

I am off to bed now .I feel very weary today not quite my normal self.Even Chris said he doesn't feel quite right .I hope we haven't got a bug that has infiltrated the household :-S
Maybe a good night 's sleep will do the trick.
Night Night everyone x

Well, just watched Findmypast programe on Yesterday, was interesting all about the Tay Bridge Disaster,

JANE , the porch will not be built till after Christmas, their next job is to lay new drainage pipes, then foundations etc.
Then after Christmas they will start building the porch of course this all depends on the weather and anything else that might slow them down or stop them all together.

I'm off to bed now with my book ,last night alone OH working in London tomorrow then will be home later on in the evening

so goodnight Everyone.

Annx Report 15 Dec 2011 22:30

Now THAT I would like to see Jane!!!! :-D :-D Hope a good night's sleep does the trick for you both.

Fiona, I bet it is cold when you open the back door at the moment. Sounds like a bit of muddy digging work next. The good thing though is that they are working OUTSIDE the house, so no mess paddled inside.

Sheila I'm glad they have found that poor man a home.

I'm off to bed too, early errands tomorrow to collect a parcel and do some food shopping with OH. He is off to a match at Halifax on Saturday, so he can help carry stuff tomorrow!!

Throw the sellotape away Frank or get one of those things you can fix on your wrist and pull small strips off.

Nightie, night xx
