That's me done now.Mopped the en suite too while I was at it.My fingers don't half puff up when I have been hauling the hoover about.
I wonder if Kim has has been kept in.Maybe they saw something on the scan that could be dealt with while she was already there. That would be brilliant for her.If you see anything on her FB Pat do let us know please.
Chester has finally gone to his bed.He had been a right nuisance today.Under my feet all the time.Oooh I came out with a few Swear Words I can tell you.I should have had a swear box and saved myself some money :-D.I have a feeling we might have had a swear box for a while when I was younger.

I bet Frank would save a fortune ;-) ;-) ;-)

Your are right Ann, I was talking to a friend earlier on and like you she felt the word NO should be well to the fore!! Lets hope that it doesn't become an issue!!!! Weather a complete mish mash, teeming with rain at the moment, high winds forcast. We always referred to 'keeping your mitts warm' Jane! like you I haven't heard of the other expression. In the winter when I was very small (2/4) I used to wear leggings with tiny buttons up the sides, a pixiehood, mittens and a coat, again with lots of buttons!! along with boots, again loads of buttons!!! Fancy having to do all those buttons on a small child. Did anyone wear a Liberty Bodice? I did, till I was quite big, and ALWAYS a woollen vest!! we had cold winters and very little heating back then!!! Have talked to the chap at planning today, and provided we keep withing the proviso's of the Caravan Act, we won't have any problems with the Chalet!! So good news for a change!!

Jane Report 14 Dec 2011 17:49

Oh Liz Laura doesn't like the word NO does she :-S.But you just have to say what you feel is the right thing for you(again) lol
Good that you shouldn't have any hassle with the Chalet.
I missed out on Liberty Bodices, but those blasted woolly vests, weren't they scratchy :-S :-SA little satin ribbon around the neck I seem to recall, and they were like a dull yellowy colour.

We have the panel s from the greenhouse now in our back porch.Chris said he will put them back in when the wind has died down.Even though they are plastic I wouldn't have liked to have been hit by one :-S

Dinner is smelling good.It is a long bit of lamb (don't know what part of lamb) and it is wrapped around Mint and Thyme stuffing, with streaky bacon wrapped around the lamb.I hope it tastes as good as it smells.

Evening all,

Just typed a whole post and lost the lot !!!

It's been really cold here today ,now looks like we won't be getting the high winds that was predicted thank goodness , lucky that the green house panels didn't do any damage Jane and that they are still in one piece so that they'll fit back in ok.

Mel, glad to hear the men have turned up at long last , bet they have been glad of the tea and soup today , hubby said he has been cold all day he's been out in the cold laying a patio !!!

Today i've iced a Christmas cake ,only two more to go !!!

I always say to the little ones keep your Dannies warm , never heard of Dondons.

Fiona, that's very strange about the christmas card , do you think your dad has always had a card from these people addressed to your mum every year , maybe it's just that you've never seen it .

This Ganglion i have on my wrist has got a little bigger , it was funny it seemed to just appear over night !!
I said to hubby look at this on my wrist ....he said that's a gargoyle!!! i said i think you mean a Ganglion :-D :-D :-D :-D
He comes out with some things i can tell you LOL

Toby's nose has been in over drive today as i made another Beef Cobbler for tea , he thinks i'am cooking it for him !!!!

Right i think i had better wrap a few more presents tonight .

Fiona

Fiona Report 14 Dec 2011 19:15

Hi Everyone.
Mandy I would have known if Mum & dad had the card from the same person every year. mum would show me the christmas cards she had got.

After mum died we had to get all dads post redirected to our house as he would hide bills and important letters or just throw them in the bin.
we even blocked up his letter box and put a post box on the wall outside and I was the only one who had the key, it usually was full of junk mail.

TRACEY , the card was signed but I have never heard of this lady the name was MAY, and signed "with love, " No seriously I just haven't got a clue but there's not much we can do about anyway, the post mark was so faint I don't even know which part of the country it came from , all I know it must have been in the UK somewhere. there was no post code either.

Tracey

Tracey Report 14 Dec 2011 19:41

Annx Report 14 Dec 2011 20:13

Yes I had to wear the dreaded Liberty Bodice........and there wasn't much liberty in it either! More like a straightjacket. I think I had to wear them after I had pneumonia at age 4/5. I do remember protesting a lot when my arms were forced in the little armholes.

Mandy you guessed right about my 2 pressies I'm ordering being jewellery related!! I need my own hammer next to do the 'whacking' with. Do you put the same design on your xmas cakes or are they all different? I remember doing a nice Delia one years ago. It had a big Poinsetta flower on the top made out of red and green marzipan.

Jane, that was lucky the panels didn't break. I hope Chris can fix them so it doesn't happen again.

We tend to save up our Sains*ury's points for the Xmas shopping or for cinema tickets. You get money off coupons too and a money off your bill voucher if you could have got things cheaper at the other big supermarkets. They are all trying to outdo each other with similar schemes to get customers aren't they! We have 2 Morr*sons as one is near MIL when we visit, but I don't often spend £40 in one go. We tend to use Sains*urys or A*da as they are less than a mile away.

I can just picture Sofia and Finley having a toddler jam session,!! lol Pass the earplugs please! I used to threaten to buy my little brother a drum when he was little, but mum said my life wouldn't be worth living if I did!! lol

I went out with my camera this afternoon while OH was doing an ICV visit. I got a pic of a huge bird, either an owl or hawk, but all the twigs completely hid it's head. There were dozens of Pheasants in the lanes near Stanford Hall, mostly on the road of course.:-S I bet a lot will 'disappear' over the Christmas period. One little village was beautiful with a street of very large thatched cottages buit in the old style, but not old. They were built of that mustard coloured stone. Nowhere to stop or I would have got a pic.

Annx Report 14 Dec 2011 20:17

Sounds like Pat IS the Christmas Spirit Mandy! :-D :-D I think she started with the 'wobbly line' dancing the other night! Pat, Vodka and orange was a favourite tipple of mine.....have one for me!! lol

Evening all,

Bit of news for you, if you haven't already heard.

Catiel had a baby girl on 11th Dec. ANNELIE weighed in at 7 lbs, Both doing well, She sen ds her regards to all who remember her.

Ann, Those phone calls drive us mad. The computer one I love to wind up. I get him taking for ages, and then tell him to P### off. As for the "goodbye" one what can you do. I told Conrad about it, and him being what he is said.
That is timed so that they can pass it on to other companies for Tele sales who know that you are in at that time of day Devious little BAS####S.

We always were told to keep your "dannies" warm. The mits one is a shortened version of MITTENS. Clever aren't I.

Both my sisters wore those Libberty bodices. with the rubber buttons, that went soft in the boil wash.

Maureen, It's nice to know that someone else gets frustrated, when after typing a message, you loose the BLO### lot.

Jane, I have just put three quid in the swear box !!! at this rate i'll have enough for a holiday.

We went over to Ros's Mum and Dad's grave today, Bloo#y cold, enough to freeze brass bal#s of an iron Monkey. :-D :-D :-D. She took flowers (artificial) and a wreath. for Mum and dad, and more for her grandma's and uncles graves. She stopped on the way back so I could go into BOO#S for something I wanted to get her for Christmas. She said "what did you buy" I said "A BLOW UP DOLL" Ask a silly question.

We are suppose to meet Jan at the Emporium for lunch tomorrow, but I am passing on it, let the girls have lunch and a good natter.

Royal Variety on tele. Not that bothered. Good old Ebay. !!!

See you later.

Frank

Frank Report 14 Dec 2011 20:33

Ann, forgot to mention. I was looking around Ebay last night. Looked on Jewellery making, and if you click on "lowest price and P & P" you will come up with loads of beads and clips, wire, spacers etc. all from CHINA at a start price of 1p for a pound you could get everything you are likely to want. They also sell pliers, and things you might need.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 14 Dec 2011 20:35

Ann, i don't like the sound of this having your own hammer to do some whacking with :-D :-D :-D your OH must be getting quite worried !!

The cakes i usually try and do some thing different on each one , this one is frosted icing just spiked up a bit and the i put a little Angel on top , had to get it done to take to my friend on Friday , the others will be done at the week end .

Frank Report 14 Dec 2011 20:35

All errected. They did the last ones when it was nearly dark. They drank coffee all day and had their soup just before they left at about 5.30pm. Electricianwas coming on Friday to connect us up but as they got all the panels up today he is coming tomorrow afternoon.

I must admit it is a big weight off my mind now they are all up there.

Going back to hands names. I always called they danners. Mum and dad said that to me when I was young and I said it to my son.

Funny when you say something to your own child and suddenly remember your mum said it to you!! It just rubs off.........

Oh out ringing.

Just going to watch Jamie with bells on.

Victorian farm is back on the telly BBC2 7pm. if anyone is interested.
