I hope you get a better seat tomorrow Mandy. It's horrible when you can't see the little ones you need to see. My Sister is going to see Finn in his nativity in Tewkesbury Abbey.Saying that it could be Finn in the choir (can't remember what she said now) :-S.My head seems all over the place at the moment.I just can't stop worrying about Rachel ,Darren and Ethan in Dubai.Things are still pretty bad by the sound of it.I know I can't do anything but it just plays on the mind.
Mel,I do hope they turn up tomorrow for you ,but the weather looks pretty Cr** for you . Think I had better get the veg on now.OH keeps saying "is dinner ready" :-| Pork medallions with mushrooms and bits of pancetta.Mini roast potatoes (like cubes),sprouts and green beans. That wind is howling now :-S.No wet wintry stuff here Frank..I think I will get that Wreath in again......don't want to lose it.

Ros has just got her voucher too.
Each week at Tesc#s she buys a £1.00 stamp. puts it on a card, and gives it to Conrad and Jan when we go there for Christmas. This year she has given it to Harvey as we are down there. I'm sure we won't eat and drink £50.00 but it will help out with the total cost.
Very windy here now, and no more white stuff. thank goodness. put the heating up a notch as it feels cold
Good news then Mel, If you are registered, they can finish the job anytime, but the sooner the better. Hope you EGG has gone down now, not sure what is good to bring out the bruise.
Hope the headache is easing off now Jane. and you have feed and watered Chris. I did a steak pie, with creamy mash, carrots and swede, with a nice onion gravey. Very nice it was too.
Must have a sort out in the freezer, Ros bought a turkey crown, and a big piece of beef, lamb, mince, chicken breasts, and shoulder of pork joint today. Why, I don't know. We have enough meat to feed the street already. I have a lot of old stuff in the bottom of the freezer, that can be cooked for the Cat or thrown away. together with loads of frozen veg. (HOW LONG DOES IT LAST) ????
Glad you are O.K. Shirl. typical of the little monsters, to come and eat you out of house and home. They must love what you feed them.
Holby on tele, so will look around Ebay again
Take care.

Talking about paint.I'm thinking of painting the front step and two back steps to make it look "neat" I recall when I was a young un some people did that. My Mother used to get on her knees and scrub the front door step the donkey stone it.First impressions.
The tooth came out easily this morning after two local injections. No fee as it was less than two months since I was at the dentist.
My neighbour opposite me died last Thursday. Aged 80

Evening All Just managed to get on Computer , Daughter no 2 has been down loading lots of Free Christmas carol sheet music , she plays the piano and wants to learn some new carols for christmas.
Daughter and her boyfriend have bought Sofia a little pink Keyboard for Christmas, it has coloured butterflies on the keys so she can teach Sofia how to play when she is older using the different colours , at the moment Sofia can just bang away and have fun with the different sounds, there's a little microphone so she can sing, it's going to be a noisy christmas day in our house LOL :-D

Morning All,
Had a few hail showers this morning but the sun is out at the moment. We have heard from the fitters to say they are stuck in traffic but should be here about 10am.
We wait in antisipation...........
Been rushing round clearing up and am going to put a big pot of soup on so I can keep them thawed out so they work better.

Morning All
Lucky fiiters Mel. SOUP!, that should keep them on the job , they will be trying to find lots of jobs to do in your house if they get soup , I am afraid work men only get Tea & biscuites at my house, if there's any bics left in the tin lol
Well!!! strange story here, yesterday daughter no 2( as you know lives with boyfriend in my dads old house,) came down for dinner and said "mum I got a christmas card in the post this morning, "nice from a friend " I said, No she said it was not for me and she handed me the card, it was addressed to my mother who has been dead for 12 years, a bit of a surprise, We don't know who the person is who wrote the card, and I wonder if they ment to send it to my dad not knowing he had passed away as well :-0 :-( So there is nothing we can do. I just feel a bit bad for this person, and wish I could get in contact to say thanks but mum and dad are sadly no longer with us , Maybe it would be better for them not to know anyway , not very nice news to get so near christmas and it might be an old person and I would not want to upset them,
Going shopping then meeting friends for coffee (tea for me) Hope everyone has a good day

HOORAY MEL, Glad things are happening.
We have a keyboard up in the loft that belonged to Conrad. Been there 14 years and at Gayton before that. Keep saying I will get it out and sell it. Bit late this year for Christmas present. !!!
Fiona, How strange, after all these years, for a card to arrive for your Mum. As you say better to let sleeping dogs lie. It might come as a shock, to an old person. How old would Mum and Dad be now.????
Liz, You can keep the SNOW down your way, THANKS. But having said that. It normally feels a bit warmer after the snow. The wind is very cold here again today.
Spoke to Conrad on SKYPE and he says Rutland/Leicester is bright and sunny. and he's only 50 miles away. " Have got to get a receipe of "this morning" for Ros. So will see you later.

Back from coffee, ready for some lunch
FRANK, Mum died 1999 and was 75 years old , she would have been 87 now. and dad died last Christmas and he was 82, so he would be 83 now, time flies dosen't it. I am going to put a small In Loving Memory (words) in the local paper for them next week, always do that for the first year after they passed,
Really windy and cold and still raining at times.
Hope the men are doing ok Mel.

Afternoon All,
Conrad is right Frank, sunny here but there is a cold wind blowing now.
The phone has been driving us mad the last 2 days!! We keep getting those 'you have computer problems' calls. We just tell them we don't have one or leave the phone off the hook now. We have also had several where you pick the receiver up and hear 'goodbye'!! lol It is annoying though to keep dashing to the phone for this nonsense!! :-(
Liz, I think Laura has got a bit of a cheek even asking you. It didn't take her long to cast a beady eye over poor Merlin's paddock. Would she expect you to pay it's feed, look after it and pay the vet's bills too? I hope you used the 'NO' word. She is old enough to be responsible for these things herself and it sounds as if the old horse is ok where he is at the moment.
Mel, I bet you were glad to see the men at last and that they have got cracking. I thought it had to be up and running by the 12th to get the higher tarriff though. I suppose it will move quite quickly now.
Fiona, how odd getting a card after all this time. It is a pity they didn't put their address on the back. I was watching the programme on gipsy weddings last night. Apparently their tradition is to visit family graves on their wedding day. I must say I rather liked their well tended graves. There were photos on the gravestones and a description of the person too. I think it is a shame we don't include more detail about the person.
Glad your tooth was no problem to extract David. It will be nicley healed by Xmas. I remember on the way to school seeing women on their knees scrubbing the front step and they would always wash down the bit of pavement in front of their house too.
When I was little I remember mum saying to put my gloves on to keep my 'dondons' warm. Anyone else heard that expression? OH said his first MIL used to call hands your 'dannies' which is similar.
Better be off now.......things to do and places to go.......BBL

Just realised how frustrated you must get Frank, I just typed out a whole long message and lost it all.
Fiona your Sofia and our Finley could start a band I've bought him a guitar and microphone for Christmas.
I wish we had a Morr**sons near, from their adverts they do seem quite a lot cheaper.
I've just bought new house phones, I have to say Ama**son are really good with delivery, bought them Saturday and they arrived yesterday, free post, just have to wait for son to sort them out now, they have an answer machine build in too which will be handy with all those cold calls, I usually do the same as you Ann, leave the phone on the side and they talk to themselves for ages before they realise no ones listening.
Thank you for your card Pat, keep meaning to say, Anne sends her best wishes to everyone, she hasn't renewed her subscription yet and that's why she hasn't been on for a while. I have all the cards from my GR friends on a special little table. I must get on and get mine sorted if I leave it much longer it'll be too late.
Had my first taste of Christmas pudding on Sunday, it was so nice I ate loads, smothered in cream... yum.
Love reading your posts Sheila, don't think we will ever tire of hearing about Donnie and Beryl. Long may they stay together ....lol

Ann I have never heard of either of those expressions.I know we would say keep your Mitts warm.
Fiona,I was wondering about this card that came for your Mum.I know when my Mum had her Dementia I would have to write her Xmas cards for her as she got in such a muddle.I would have to go through her address book from A-Z.Most names I knew but some I just had to take a chance and send a card not knowing if they were still alive .Maybe this was the case with your card.
How are things going Mel?I hope they are cracking on.
SNOW,Liz!.Nothing here except a very bitter wind.It does look like we could possibly have some sleet/snow on Friday.
I am just having a break from hoovering .Need to do the stairs next.I'm afraid the ironing will have to wait until tomorrow now :-S
Have we heard from Kim since her investigation???
