Morning!

Happy Birthday little Katie.I can't believe she is 2 already <3 <3 <3

Goodness what hail we had about 3am :-0 :-0.Frightened the life out of me.There was no warning ,it just suddenly was battering the bedroom window.
At least there was no frost or ice his morning just a cold wind which seems to be picking up now.
I am part way through giving the lounge a good going over(gosh the paint work is grubby :-S)Just stopping for a quick coffee and recharge my battery.

Hoped those eyes of yours Frank aren't too costly. It doesn't seem that long ago you had those special Prism thingies .I can't remember whether they helped you or not.
Right back to work :-|

Not much help but this is all I came up with

St Martins Canterbury 597

The oldest church in Britain is probably St. Peter's-on-the-Wall at Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex which dates from the 7th Century.

The oldest log church in the world is St. Andrew's Church at Greensted, near Ongar, Essex although that only really applies now to the walls of the nave, which date from the 11th Century.

The oldest cathedral in Britain is Durham Cathedral, started in 1093, which is also the oldest Norman building.

St Peter's Chapel, Bradwell-on-Sea, was built to mark the spot where St Cedd landed in 654, on his mission from Lindisfarne to lighten the Dark Ages of the heathen East Angles.

In need of my hot Chocolate to warm me up

Happy Birthday to dear little Katie, 2 years old already, how the time flies.

Thank you to Mel, Mandy Fiona and Sheila for your cards, that is a really pretty one Sheila, I thought you may have made it at first. I'm always on the look out for ones that I might be able to paint, so you may get yours back next year Mandy ...lol, thanks also for the address I was after.

Am off out tomorrow to see if I can finish off the Christmas shopping, have done really well this year.

I bet little Chelsea is excited about being in the play Mandy. What will she be?

We had wind and rain in the night too. I have a window open and the wind was rattling the door and woke me. I had to wedge it with a slipper.

I drove into the city this morning to do a bit of shopping. I hardly go now, but I wanted some haberdashery type things and the market used to be good for those. So scruffy and with 2 glitzy signed pawnbrokers at the edge of the market and new pound shops too. I went to the indoor part of the market and most of the stalls were empty and unoccupied with shutters down. Your could see goods behind the shutters on those that are occupied so they weren't just closed today. It used to be a smart city in the 50s and 60s with lots of interesting shops and several big department stores.......not any more! Like lots of places I suppose.

Thanks for your card Mel, very nice...........how is your poor elbow today?

We went for a carvery at lunchtime at the nice country pub where we went with Rocky, the pony. Luckily we went early but it was full of Xmas lunches and we had a job to find a table. No OAP prices today either!! lol :-( :-( Still it was very nice and will save me cooking.

Jane, my next task is cleaning too. I can see plenty of dust everywhere!!!!! :-0 :-0 The windows need doing inside too so I'd better at least make a start!! Then the kitchen cupboards and fridge freezer need a sort out to make room for the xmas extras.

Mandy, am sending you a PM. I have remembered it is Kirsty night and have recorded it.

Well had my eyes tested, and what a PRICE. over £300.00 with my prism,
and varyfocal lens with tints. Not yet I said. It appears I have cataracts in my left eye and that puts up the cost for the extra work to do on the lens, thats what they say. !!!! I am at present looking at on line optican's to see what they come up with. Or else I'll get a white stick :-D :-D :-D

Next door neighbours rand to say that they were having cavaty insulation done this afternoon. So we stayed out, and had a late carvary, and a nose around. Didn't get home till after 4pm. BUT I don't think they have been. No sign of anyone and no noise.

Happy birthday Katie, better late than never.

Mel hope you will get things sorted tomorrow.

Thanks, for the church info everyone. have passed in on to Jan

I will want that address too Mandy.

Oh what a cold wind today, and very strong, nearly took the car door off when Ros opened hers. !!!

We have had to down load forms and fill them in, scan them and send them back. Emails flying everywhere. Rods and clips arrived ar 12.30pm and no connectors to tie it all in to the roof!!

Had to fill out 7 forms for the tariff with proof of who we are and all sorts.

We had one card today with a very sad note in.A daughter of our ex Practice Manager sadly died in September .Helen was only 37 and was married with 2 young children. She had a very aggressive Brain Tumour and had only been ill for a few weeks.I remember her well and she was a lovely girl.

It's so typical of these "TRADES MEN" Not your hubby Mandy. They say they will start one day, and dob't turn up for three. How many others are being kept on a piece of string ???

Jan rang just after we got home to ask Ros to go shopping with her this evening, So home alone. Ready to watch Football, won't have to go out tonight. !!!

Hi Patricia,
That's right I live in Bonnie Scotland , We did have some snow but it's gone now but I think there is still more to come.
I am having a new back porch put on Pat, But due to the snow in other parts of Scotland I don't think we will be having any work done this week, it seems the builders can't get through.

Sorry I don't have an address or surname for Anne either.

Had a nice little party ,didn't get much in the way of photo's the little monkey kept turning her head every time i tried to take one !! she would look at the camera ,then say NO!!

Oh Mel, what a time your having , will it all be done by Friday ?

No Frank not like my hubby, he hates having several jobs on the go ,he likes to finish one before starting another !!

Just watching Kirstie , she has just made a lovely hanging garland with little fabric hearts and bells .

Thank you David....what a lovely message. As Jane has said.....we love you too. <3 <3

Mandy, she sounds typical for her age!! lol You will have to get quicker with the camera. I bet she was a cute little sheep too.

Oh Mel, it gets exasperating doesn't it!! We always end up doing the running around for some of these chaps. I hope they get started soon in case there are any more hiccups.

Frank, I must be due an eye check soon. New glasses cost far too much don't they. It isn't as if you can replace the lenses these days as they change the styles.
