Ready for church this morning, but woke up with a thick head looks like I could be in for a cold,(it could be my sinus playing up) not surprised really my immunity (sp) probably is low after being i'll.

Morning Fiona and All,
Bright sunshine this morning but such a windy night. The telly ariel was creaking and growning last night when I went to bed I had to bury myself under the quilt to block the noise out. I knew when he took those trees down this was going to happen! We have'nt had a high wind for such a long while.
OH off ringing for church.
What is everone up to today?? Don't think I will do much. I also forgot to do the cake again :-( Might do oh some little buns today though and perhaps some mince pies.

Afternoon all,
Here I am, just out of the shower with a towel round my. Don't get excited JANE.
While Ros was out yesterday, Carolyn our friend , who is off to Teneriffe next week, invited us down for lunch today. So I had nothing to do this morning, just sat reading the paper and enjoying the "Nothing to do period" We have to be down for about 2.30pm. So will be drinking a few bottles of RED. John loves his, and has a cellar full. He use to have cases sent from Italy,Spain, Portugal,
We have just had the figures for yesterday. Reaised £182.50 The grand total raised so far is £2,505.55. After all costs for materials wools etc. it comes to £1998.64. There's another sale on Friday at Deanshanger school, Milton Keynes. But Ros can't make it as she is at the Dentists.
I see in the paper this morning the Heston Bs cakes and mince pies are selleing so fast that they are outstripping supplies, and his Orange Christmas puddings are making "200.00 on Ebay. Should have bought a couple of dozen.
Our Young neighbours had the baby christened this morning. The close is packed with cars of friends and family. Ros had just given them a card and present.
Might see you later, If I can find the Computer.!!!

Afternoon All I am late today :-S.Nipped out to do a bit of Xmas shopping first thing, and actually got a pair of Jeans and a shirt for James .He is so difficult to buy for :-| Then when I got home I had to go to my neighbours and collect Meg (the Border Collie).I have her for the day and will take her home this evening .She is so good ,just loves being out in the garden mooching around near Chris.Chester is behaving like a twerp(bit jealous me thinks). He is in and out like a yoyo making stupid noises. They do get on fine together which is good, but I have had to pick up Chesters food just in case Meg eats it and ends p with a dicky tum.I daren't send her home with the trots :-S :-S
I had a long email just now from Rachel in Dubai.Things are really not good .I could give that OH of hers a damn good shaking and talking to .She want's to come back to UK for a week or so before Xmas, but he won't let her have Ethans passport!!!!!.Sheesh, what is the matter with him.I can't see this marriage lasting. Oh well that is my little grumble for the day. I think we had a fair bit of wind and rain in the night.I noticed quite a few small branches down on the way to town. And all the leaves out the front have gone everywhere again :-S :-S :-S.I had swept a load into piles ready to clear ,but didn't clear.Silly me. :-|

Afternoon everyone,
What a windy old night we had , i woke a couple of times and heard it blowing , it's still windy now .
Ann, thanks for sending the picture of the plaque ,i did spot it but i couldn't enlarge it to see what was on it , i don't think it would have been very nice to be shut in there in the dark ,still i suppose it gave them time to think about what they had done .
Frank, it will be nice for you to have a meal cooked for you for a change ,enjoy :-) I've got one of Heston's Christmas puds , one of the little ones with the Clementine in , how much are they going for ?? LOL
Poor old hubby's still on his knees trying to get this blooming cushion flooring up !! what a job , he keeps getting up saying ohhhh my knees!! i think he will suffer for a few days
DIL's parents have bought one of those 3D televisions , and they are selling their old 32"flat screen for £50 ,so were having it , we'll move our Television from the sitting room into the conservatory as we only have a small flat screen in there ,we're picking it up later this afternoon ,then son will connect it up for us .
Time for a cuppa. BBL

Mandy ,Chris says his knees have never recovered from spending all that time on the summerhouse roof when he re did it :-S.He is mowing the lawn !!!!!.I thought he had done the last cut . James will be on his way back from Canterbury soon.Told him to be careful of that low sun which can dazzle.
Frank ,those Paper chains!.I thought they always had a bit of glue on the ends to lick.Which they do now.But yes I do remember have the pot of gloopy gunge with 2 brushes in.One for me and one for Janice.I do remember arguements with her as to the right colour of chain to link up next .Of course she was nearly 5 years younger than me so had no idea about mixing the colours.Oh Happy Days :-D

Hi been reading the threads sorry about the sewing lady Frank and Kim the little boy. Got your message and sent my details Kim will send you a card and look forward to contacting you. It was lucky I managed to get on the message page today. I am sorry you have not been well. Will you be spending Christmas on a beach Kim my nephew did last year. I think that would be lovely but would miss the Christmas here I think. Hope you do not go in hospital I would miss your threads and worry about you.
I loved the Christmas when small mostly the smell of the fire lit in the front room we only used the frontroom at Christmas or mum used to let us in when we had company. We roasted chestnuts in the fire but mine were burnt and mums were just right. Mine would disapear in the fire and I would wait for the fire to die out to get them and eat them .
Yes it was windy here last night and I had just spent a hour or so getting up leaves that lay like a carpet on the grass.
Oh these husbands what a shame for Rachel things like that mean a lot when your away Jane.
Fancy Sinita going out the jungle and amagine going out with Brad Pit for two years. cor she got fed up of him being over in America and she was here that would upset me. Saw Brad last night in a film looking beautiful about a Irish guy who lives with the guy who was in The Raiders of the last ark cannot think of his name. Anyway he shoots Brad because he is a policeman and Brads a bomber for the IRA
David so sorry Helen does not like living at the new bungalow hope she is more settled for you now. Our Jess just jogged my memory and said Harrison Ford is the guy I meant.
Shirl thank you for your messages. I know I sometimes wonder how I go on its not fun getting old. People do go and sharing grief is not cheap today my ho says oh not another funeral Sheila no wonder I am broke. i just spent thirty pound on my nephews flowers which I hope arrive at the crematorium tomorrow.
Maureen would love to live in London again. Shopping is shopping there most of our shops have closed the nice ones. They will be here for Christmas the kids and family and maybe I can visit Rhode Island

Hi Everyone,
Well I couldn't get off to sleep last night ........the wind was rattling the doors and kept thinking about those 9 little babies that died and imagining how awful it would be for their 5 brothers and sisters too! I must remember to tell MIL next time I see her.
Mel it sounds like you have lost your 'windbreak' with the tree gone!!
Frank, it will be nice for you to have lunch cooked for you today. Go steady on the wine, don't want you stumbling into any shrubs on your way back!!
Meg sounds like she's no trouble Jane.........if there's no food down I bet Chester will think she's wolfed the lot down!! lol
I had 'plans' to get things done today, but when I stood up after dressing my back twinged and after lunch today I could hardly straighten it at first. It eases after a bit to walk about, but I just daren't sit for long or it stiffens up again so it looks like I will be up and down all the rest of today! :-S Nothing seems to work properly for long does it. :-(
I am KNOWN for getting my words mixed up, which usually sets OH off in tucks of laughter, which makes me laugh as well. Today I mentioned Hoca Pontas, which set him off and he said, 'is that a friend of Thom Tum and Nopiccio'. :-D :-D lol
Better start doing a few cards next, then I might finish my necklace I think.

Jane, do you think perhaps Rachel's OH is worried she might not go back with Ethan once she is here? It sounds like a very tense situation to me and that Christmas will be quite a strain for them.
That's handy getting another bigger telly Mandy. Remember years ago we just had one very small one that had pride of place, nowadays we have several.
Are you putting your pud on Eb*y??? lol

I see there is a flood alert for the Norfolk coast !!
The surge is expected to hit north Norfolk at high tide about 19.50 and move down the coast over the following five hours.

Hi Bill, nice to have someone adding some memories here. My gran used a lot of that......didn't it smell strong!! I used to like that clear brown Pears soap. I was born in Staffordshire at Brereton, in my gran's house and then we moved to Etchinghill near Rugeley.
Frank, us ladies are all pleasant until we LIVE with a man we were pleasant to!! lol, lol. :-D :-D :-D Glad you had a nice time, sounds like you will sleep well tonight.
Mandy, I hope it won't cause any damage along the coast. There's been quite a bit of erosion in places in Norfolk already hasn't there. The wind has dropped here now.
Just ordered some beads off Eb*y, taken tablets for my back and am off to bed now. Don't think I dare toss and turn!! Night, night xx
