Fiona, glad you didn't mind my suggesting it. I wouldn't mind 3 or 4 days away any where times.
If I'm driving in a strange town or neighbourhood and lose my bearings I identify the road I'm on in relation to where I thought I was and generally find my way back.
First you have to admit your'e lost, takes a bit of doing. I usually go the the same places so often the car knows the way back

My you have been busy chatting away. Still no stamps Pat. I know the cost of 1st class is 46p (9/2d old money) total disgrace.
I don't know if I am different to most men. I will always ask for directions, even though I don't always understand them. I have in the passed had people say "FOLLOW ME" and take me to where I want to go. Likewise I have done the same. including "OUR ENRY COOPER" who was lost and trying to get to Wickstead Park. I had to pass it on the way home !!! He thought I was doing him a favour ;-) ;-) ;-)
When on holiday abroard, I am always up at the crack of dawn, wandering around the area of the hotel. and finding places to eat or drink. When I have taken Ros, Conrad, and Jan to these places they say "How did you know that was there" Once when in Spain. I got up at 4 am walked 3 miles along the sea front to a fish market, so I could see what fish they landed and sold. I love the early mornings when on holiday. No one else is around, apart from the street cleaners, shop owners who are washing down the pavements, and getting their tables out for the days business.
We always had a "REAL" tree. till we had the Post Office. We went to the Non food Cash and Carry. and bought a tree that came apart on the trunk, and all the branches slotted in to it. All numbered to the shape of the tree. It cost a fortune then, but has been great value over the years. Will try to get a photo of it when Ros puts it all up and decorated.
Ros is watching her "HOLBY" I have never been able to enjoy it, so I come out of the way for an hour.
I had my letter about the Blue Badge cost increase in the paper tonight. I hope others complain to the council like I did. If you tried putting your services up by 400% there would be trouble, but the council seem to get away with it.
Mel, You will have to start having your corn delivered by the truck load. :-D :-D :-D :-D
I've gone on long enough tonight. see you in the morning.

Haven't been around as OH has had lots of minutes to write up and emails to do so he's been hogging the computer (MY computer!) lol. Anyone miss me......no, that's ok then........can't have you worrying!!
Well, I was different and had no confidence when I was young. I don't think it helped, living out in the sticks and not being allowed out much. When I went to work I HAD to do so many things I was scared of, even answering the phone at first. Then travelling to training courses in Blackpool, Newcastle, Bristol, London. Staying in hotels was terrifying at first. My parents never went away with us to hotels or boarding houses so it was all new to me. Confidence builds though, so I eventually got used to doing things I never dreamt I would be able to do. Nothing much fazes me now but one thing I still avoid if I can is public speaking in any form! Mouth goes dry, legs go like jelly and memory goes blank!!
I wouldn't want to go abroad either Fiona. Like Maureen I would be scared of getting lost!! After all I can lose the car in a carpark!! lol I used to go with OH sometimes in this country, often just a daytrip for me and I would have the car once I dropped him off. It was interesting to look around other places, but with his meetings sometimes it ended up being a long day. One thing I am less confident about now is finding my way around in strange places in the car. So many one way systems, traffic so dense, so fast, signs so poor. I still make myself do it though as you remember some of it when you go back. :-D
It is always me that asks for directions when we get lost, but OH doesn't often get lost with driving all over the place! He won't read any instructions for things though unless he gets STUCK!
Prim*rk seems to be the same everywhere.......you have to queue for ages in the city one. Some of the clothes are very good value though.
I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for the MRI scan for the research. Not looking forward to the noise it makes or keeping still on that hard surface for 20 minutes. :-S OH has decided to come with me this time, so the time should pass quickly. Then in the afternoon we are off to the cinema, a film with Brad Pitt, but I can't remember what it is called.:-S
I thought you would have found those stamps Frank. I wonder where they are? So annoying they just disappeared.

Off to bed now .Just a few pages left to read of my latest book.I had better find the next one ready for when I wake up in the morning.I cannot live without a book on the go

That's nice Jane! I'm just attention seeking aren't I! lol No, OH doesn't have his own computer yet. At work, although he had his own computer there, they didn't have internet access and his PA did a lot of the minute writing. Since he has been retired he has really got more interested (especially in the internet with football things and looking at the grounds he is going to!) and now he is also doing more typing up of the school stuff. He blows hot and then cold with this at the moment so I am waiting to see what happens before we get a laptop. I'm not sure it would be worth it if he wasn't clerking for the few times he would be using it. He is a nightmare if this one doesn't behave and you know who has to come and sort it if I can.......I don't really want two to sort out!! lol
Hope the helicopter doesn't keep you awake, The one they use around here is kept at the Police HQ down the road and it makes a right racket at times.
I love the idea of the blow up zimmer! :-D Night, night xx

Morning Al,
Ann I missed you and wondered why you had'nt posted in the afternoon or evening as usual.
Skies patches of blue and some sunshine. Think I may chance some washing today. I also have to clean the chickens out.
I only raise the banties the other big girls I rescue from slaughter. These new 10 I have aquired were layers for Waitr*ss and my friend (a farmers wife) has 100 when the other farmer clears the old layers out for the new point of lay pullets. She keeps them in a big barn and gives him the eggs so he dos'nt loose his gate sales. Then when the pullets are laying well she gives them away to friends.
Fiona it is good that each day bring you a little comfort and a more varied diet. I am glad you are now starting to feel a lot better but don't over do things while hubby is away.

Mel I hope you get the washing dry :-D.I'm not sure whether to put mine out or not.It is a nice morning but I don't think anything will dry here. I think the gritter was out last night .We actually had quite a frost this morning.
The back door key snapped off in the lock earlier. It took Chris ages to wiggle it out with some pliers. So one job for me in a minute is to go and get a new one cut......BBL

Who's a clumsey girl then Jane ???
Morning all,
Bright sunny morning here, good frost last night, Bought lots more leaves off the trees. Will have to go and collect them up soon.
Jane it must have been in the late 60s when Henry came to a boxing match at Wicksteads.
You little devil Fiona, going out for coffee, I bet you have missed that ;-) ;-) ;-) Happy birthday to your daughter.
Mel, Do you pluck your own birds and freeze them.?? or just kill them when you need too.?? Dad taught me how to pluck chickens when I was a kid, also how to gut and skin a rabbit. Haven't done it for many years, Don't think I would want to now.
Did you all get the JOKES this morning apart from Mel. I like the Isle of white one lol lol.
Heard from an old friend last night. I got him a job about 15 years ago, and he has just been nmade redundant. He is 69 though, so not a big deal. He is now like me, spending his days like he wants to. He has started selling bits on Ebay and loves it. Having trouble finding things to seel. His wife had better watch out :-D :-D :-D :-D
Ros, has finished the ironing, I'm not allowed to touch that !!! She in now making a meat, potato, and onion, suet roll. That can simmer away for a few hours later.
Jane while I remember, The Venison casserole was OK for me, but Ros hated it. TO STRONG. She left most of it, and I had instructions, NOT to make it again. I'M NEVER RIGHT :-( :-( :-( :-(
Had a giddy spell this morning, while making the bed, i went giddy and fell on the BED. good job I wasn't outside.
