Morning Flowers,

How are we all.???

Mel, It seems strange on genes at times. I get things pop up i've never seen before :-0 :-0 :-0 Don't know what they are up to.

Still no STAMPS. Ros won't let me near her handbag, or I would turn the whole lot out and go through it. You need a fork lift truck to lift it though. and I don't think the floor will be big enough to cope with it all LOL LOL.

Carolyn is back from Hastings, so they are going shopping, HOME ALONE AGAIN. Will sit and have a read of my book.

One of the cat's lumps is beginning to fill again. so don't think it is anything to worry about. He's eating well, and seems quite happy.

My old school pal is 73 today, must send him an Email.

Felt a right idiot last night. Went into the pub to find I hadn't got any money :-| :-| :-| So had to have my BEER on the SLATE. Never done that before. So now I will have to go back tomorrow and pay for it :-D :-D :-D That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.(IT'S THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET OUT) LOL

It will be another couple of weeks before I get all the Christmas decorations, tree and lights in. Then it will be arguements , what goes where, and me being told to LEAVE THINGS ALONE you don't know what you are doing/ you will break that !!! HAPPY TIMES

Frank do you do the tree and decs when Lewis comes to stay??

Frank

Frank Report 22 Nov 2011 14:16

Mel, not sure when Lewis is due for his week with us. If he's here, like me will get in the way. LOL LOL "Don't touch you will break it " But with all of his "THINGS TO DO" Cinema, swimming etc. he won't have time for decorations.

Have found a receipe for a Venison casserole, which I have prepared for tonight. Ready to go in the oven about 4pm Mashed Potato's brussels, runner beans and parsnips. Smelt good getting it ready. Hope it taste allright tonight.

Dull, misserable day here again, rain last night with fog. No better today.

Going for a cuppa and a read, see you later.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2011 14:31

Frank I have a lovely recipe for a Venison Casserole. But it has a lot of red wine in it.Not sure if Ros would like it.Let me know if you want it.
I was sent to Asda* earlier by Chris. He saw in the Daily Telegr*** that some Red wine was a great buy at a really good price too.Just £3.56 a bottle !!!
So I had to get 6,then James asked me to get him one ,then I rang Fitz to see if he wanted some .So another 6.I was very lucky and got the only 13 bottles of it on the shelf :-D :-D

Fiona's hubby gets about a bit on a regular basis.
Why you give yourself a treat Fiona and go with him on the next one?

Maureen

Maureen Report 22 Nov 2011 15:36

Very dull and grey here today, need the lights on and it's only 3.30.

Had quite a successful day yesterday. Met up with daughter in town for Christmas shopping and actually got a few presents before we went off for lunch ......... it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ....... as the song goes. Finley has a penguin and when you press it's hand this song starts up, I only had to hear it once and it was in my brain for the rest of the day.

Was a good idea going Christmas shopping early this year, not half as crowded as last year apart from Prime**rk, that always seems to be heaving. I must be about half way done now, the rest I can probably do on line. Thought I might buy an artificial tree this year, the real ones have become very expensive.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2011 15:53

Maureen .I am expecting the usual 'discussion' about trees.Real versus Artificial. It has to be real :-D :-D.I don't know what the prices are like this year.
I keep meaning to go over to Corby to the Prim** there, but just the thought of it is putting me off.5 got some great things for Hannah there last year,so I will have to force myself.Maybe I can get there for when the shops just open one morning and beat the hoards
:-S

Maureen

Maureen Report 22 Nov 2011 16:10

We didn't get anything in Prime*** in the end but they have a great selection of clothes and other stuff in the London store. It's a popular shop, always very busy.

Is it you who prefers the real trees Jane, we have always had real in the past but the artificial ones are really life like these days, and it would be easier just to pack up and put in the loft.

Fiona

Fiona Report 22 Nov 2011 17:01

Hi David
Lots of people say why don't I go with OH when he travels,
The only problem I have with that is lack of confindance, does that sound daft ?
I am not happy about shopping on my own, when I am not familiar with my surroundings, OH would be at work or attending meetings all day and I would be on my own, no other wives go with there husbands, it's not like we are on holiday, I don't fancy staying in the hotel all day either, so really I would much prefer to stay at home.
OH says where he sometimes stays in crummy business hotels not the places he'd like to take me to.
Anyway maybe next year hopefully I will be fit and well and we will have no family ties at holiday time,

Just finished writing out my Christmas cards for going to America, now to start the ones for Italy.

also need to sort out whats for dinner tonight.

Maureen

Maureen Report 22 Nov 2011 17:08

I know exactly what you mean Fiona. I wouldn't have the confidence to go wandering off on my own in a foreign country. I know I would get lost and then panic if I couldn't find my hotel again.

I'm getting more into christmas now, so better get moving on christmas cards.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2011 17:20

We all like the real trees Maureen. It's Chris who keeps going on about an artificial one :-S :-S.Bah Humbug :-P
Hannah says she has to take a deep breath before going into the Prim*** in Oxford St as it is so big and busy.A right scrum sometimes lol

Fiona it is such a pity you lack the confidence to be able to go with OH to Barcelona. It is a great city and not too big.Could daughter No2 not go with you one day .I think you would have a lovely time together while your OH is working during the day.

Someone here is attention seeking !!.He's driving me nuts. It's not James or Chris :-)

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2011 17:36

I do think confidence gets less the older I get.Which does make me cross sometimes. When I think how I left home at just 18 and went to Greece and knew nobody (except for the family I worked for).I used to get the bus into Athens on my days off and spent the time pottering and seeing things on my own.It was much better when my friend came out to work for another family.
Nothing back then seemed to worry me.I think it was the best thing I did really as it made me have confidence.
The thought of doing that now makes me shiver lol.I certainly wouldn't be confident to find my way around London. That is why Hannah met me at St Pancras. But I do have a tongue and am never scared of asking for help from people.
Why do men (most men) always refuse to ask the way when they get lost?
They would rather drive round in circles for miles than stop the car and ask for help.I remember my Dad being like that.

Fiona

Fiona Report 22 Nov 2011 17:42

I know Jane, my lack of confidence can be really hard work at times, daughter no 2 would not come with me, anyway it would cost me a fortune, she would be dragging me into every clothes shop there was. she is just to busy with the boyfriend and trying to get a full time job these days,

We have a real tree at christmas , OH and the family go out to choose one usually about 2 weeks before Christmas and he puts it into the garage till the weekend before and we all spend the afternoon usually a sunday when there down for dinner putting on all the baubles, lights etc. OH likes to put on a christmas CD while he's trimming up.
I have a small artifical one which I put up in the front porch. with lights and little crackers on it.

Dinner in the oven reheating , Daughter no2 & boyfriend will be down soon they can decide if they want potatoes or chips.

.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2011 17:45

Shirl .that is Anthony Cotton.I actually think I like him.Thought he would be a drip .I don't watch it all the time so am never up to date with what is going on.I fell asleep last night before it finished :-S

LOL Shirl I think we would have a dam* good party don't you.Maybe we could have a CYBER one here just before Xmas.I'll provide the white wine and crackers.

Fiona

Fiona Report 22 Nov 2011 17:52

JANE,
I think all men must be like that , maybe they think their weak if they need help LOL
my OH refuses to ask for help to, we have learnt over the years not to offer him help, he says if he needs it he will ask.
