I know Jane , naughty having Chinese again , but nice !!

Pat , things can look different with the shop lighting , in the super market they have a pale red light over the tomatoes to make them look better , and they think we don't notice !!!

Yes, it is a shame about Daff. She seems to have been very well liked by all who knew her. I often wonder where Hoff and Mac are these days too.

Yes, as Mandy said, has the postman found the stamps yet! They must be in the house somewhere........not stuck them on the envelopes ready then? It is a shame if you don't find them. Sucked them up in the hoover?? Is Puss wearing them??

Oh I bet it was nice to go to the garden centre Fiona. They are all dressed up and sparkly for Christmas now. Were you a bit wary of folk bumping into you .....a trolley can be useful protection.

Mandy, mint sauce! Those poor little sheep covering their ears. lol Nice not having to cook again......it can become addictive you know!! :-D

This accelerometer thing I am wearing keeps 'moving' and the band keeps rolling. It is getting on my nerves and itching now......thank goodness there is only one more day of it, can post it back to the hospital then. :-D

Hi Ann
Yes it was good to get out, unfortunatly our garden centre trolly's are huge big flat things mainly used for pushing bags of garden soil and plants about, I can't even steer a trolly when it's empty lol, OH is good at carrying all the bags and sometimes shopping baskets around. but as you say I do have to be careful not to bump into anyone.

Ann I am wishing away the days till next Friday when I go to see the surgeon at the hospital for my final check up, and after I get home, off comes these horrible surgical socks and into the bin with them, itchy ,sweaty and ooo so tight. :-D

Evening again, I had my Indian, and cleared away.Done all the Veg for tomorrow.

Parsnips and Roast pots. with Yorkshire pudding.and Chesse sauce. Just the gravy to do, when it's all cooked. So tomorrow morning I can bury myself into today's and tomorrows papers.

Didn't read all the posts so hope you have all behaved, if not HOPE YOU ENJOYED BEING NAUGHTY.!!!

Hello everyone,

Been a hot one today, just turned the airconditioning off and it looks like a storm is on the way (or not). We could do with the rain. Joel has been swimming in the pool today and Rod's son Brett had a swim yesterday. Not the same without the old boy coming in and giving a mouthful of cheek. He always loved a swim, especially if Keith brought him out a beer.

Frank have you found the stamps yet? Not tucked in among the wool are they?

Home alone last night. Family went out to a house warming party for our young friends. Great to see them in their first home, he is such a sensible young man and has saved all his money over the years.

Sheila sorry to hear that your nephew passed away and that you had such an awful fall. I hope you recover very soon, it sounded nasty.

The rain has just arrived and daughter needs the computer for her assignment due tomorrow :-S That means "get off mum".

Have a good day everyone :-)

Morning All,

Misty dull and dreary this morning. Typical...........

Mandy yes you can have solar panels put on your house for free but you are signing away your roof and only getting your leccy paid for. I think you also have to sign that they own the roof!! We will get 43p per unit we collect plus £480 off our leccy bill so we will only pay 3 quarter of our leccy.

Kim hope you are feeling a bit better today. Sheila too hope everything is healing nicely now after your nasty fall..

Fiona don't you have any hipster jeans or trousers???

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Nov 2011 09:38

Frank sk the Borrowers for your stamps back three times they may turn up.

Ros did'nt tuck them between the cards did she??? What else did she get that day? I know sometimes I put things down in strange places without realising I have done it and when I look for them again, do you think I can find them?? No biut they usually turn up in the most unlikely places.

Maybe the fairies took them along with your photos................

I might make a start on my cards today.I haven't bought any stamps yet ;-) ;-)

Hello Jane and Mel,

Have been a bit down today, deceased brother would have been 65 and daughter and boyfriend have been fighting here (verbally, that is). The mood has been very heavy. I was glad when his mother came and picked him up :-(

Jane the pool has been very good for entertaining children over the years and parties. Last time I had a swim was 2003 when I sank to the bottom, lol. I can't even have a bath been these days it's too exhausting. We had solar heating on the roof and the pool would be like a sauna around 30 degrees, but it began leaking and rusting the spouting, so had to be disconnected. We just have the pool cover now and that retains the heat.

Mel how are your chickens today? Any more eggs?

Our solar panel scheme out here has been a dismal failure. I think it is going to be wound up soon. People getting 66c per the dollar in rebate, but that was dropped back to 43c as the new government couldn't afford it. Was going to send the state broke. We have been left in a terrible mess after the last Labor Gov. Also lots of cowboy installers got in on the act, with dodgy electrical work and roof fires. Doesn't help legitimate companies and gives everyone a bad name. Anything from $4,000 to $20,000 to have them installed.

Off to watch tv. Goodnight all. 10.12 pm DST

Fiona Report 20 Nov 2011 11:42

morning All
Chilly and gray, has been raining overnight.

Got up breakfast, showered and dressed by 10.30 am this morning, feeling ok. OH out working in the garden. if it stays dry this afternoon plan to go up to the cemetery, I have not been to see dad's inscription since it was put on the grave stone, though the fella who did the work did take a photo of it for me.

Mel , most of the jeans and trousers/ leggings I wear are just below the waist or on the waist
you don't get a lot of choice when your a size 8 and I always have to wear a belt with most of the trousers to.
Not been really comfortable with trousers on my hips in the past always felt I wanted to pull them up.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Nov 2011 13:04

Fiona ,I am not the right shape for trousers on the hips lol.My hips blend in with the rest of me :-S.Even when I was young and slim and wore hipsters I never found them comfortable.

We still have very thick fog.Every now and again the sun try's to break through but it's not having any luck.Chris is in the garden cutting and clearing stuff, and I can see a pair of steps out there too :-S :-S.I will have to keep a beady eye on him I think.
I just picked a bunch of Rosemary and Thyme to go in with the roasted veg.It smells lovely but has given me the sneezes.I'm doing Pork Fillet to go with .James will have his first as he may be going out later ,and Chris wants to keep going in the garden until it gets too dark.So it is a 2 sitting dinner.
I hope they don't expect a pudding as there isn't one :-D :-D

MillymollyAmanda Report 20 Nov 2011 13:23

Afternoon everyone,

Really foggy here this morning ,just when you think its clearing down it comes again.
The family have been for breakfast this morning ,they were just coming for coffee , son said would i do bacon rolls , so i thought i might as well go the whole hog so they had the works !!! lol nice to see empty plates .

Our Chinese we had last night was awful, cold and very fatty tasting ,won't be going there again,i think it has changed hands ,but they won't be getting our custom again that's for sure.

Well Frank has the stamps turned up? were they in books or on a sheet from the post office , i suppose they still sell them by the sheet do they ?

I bet the herbs smelt good Jane ,you carn't bet fresh herbs for taste , do you pick and dry any out for over the winter? ,my friend picks hers and drys them out in her boiler house .

Where's the day gone !! hubby's now asking for a cuppa BBL

Jane

Jane Report 20 Nov 2011 13:48

Mandy I have never thought of drying the herbs ,but I do freeze them sometimes. My favourite herb (Oregano) seems to have died :-(.That is the second one I have lost.
I can't remember the last time I cooked a big breakfast. We are not really breakfast people.I do love a full English though if I am staying in a hotel and someone else is cooking it for me ;-).In fact I love any meal that someone else cooks.
I am gutted. The Pork Fillet is not enough for the 3 of us :-S :-S :-S.So I have just bunged a Chicken in the oven.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 20 Nov 2011 14:43

We usually have a cooked breakfast on a Sunday then we don't always have a lunch ,we go through until tea time ,its not very often that i do a roast on a Sunday now , mostly just easy things tonight its Jacket Potato with Tuna for hubby and Cheese and Coleslaw for me with salad.

I love Oregano on a salad with Feta Cheese , reminds me of the Greek islands ,going up into the mountains ,Oregano is all you can smell.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Nov 2011 14:52

I think I love the smell of Oregano too because it reminds me of the time I lived in Greece as a Nanny, way back in the early 70's.When I was in London last weekend with Hannah I bought a bottle of Olive Oil with Oregano at Borough Market.

The fog is getting worse and worse now.Chris is still down the garden .....but I can't see him lol.
I wouldn't like to be driving in this :-S...
