Where is everyone.???
Emmerdale on Tele, I loved it in the 70s when it was about the farm. Now we have Affairs, Lesbians and all the trash that the writers can think of. I don't think it's the time in the evening to see all this kissing of women, and sex affairs going on. There are younger impressionable Children watching, and they shouldn't see it. It's not part of growing up.NOW I'm the misserable old Sod Jane. See how it rubs off.
Mice can't be very nice running around your loft Ann.We had them in the Store room in the shop years ago. I had more mouse traps down, than you could imagine. I sometimes locked the cat it there at night. That helped to keep them down. You wonder how the little beggers get in, but they only need a tiny hole. :-| :-|
We have been lucky over this side of the County, fair sort of day, with sunshine this afternoon. The heating came on about 5.30pm but has since turned it's self off.
Our local Garden Centre had a parrot that talked, and Lewis as a child always got Ros to take him to see it, and would chatter away at it for ages.:
Ros has been given another £40.00 to buy more wool, I ordered that this morning, should be here tomorrow or Friday. It seems that the people who have bought one are getting enquires from the friends. So madam will be turning them out to order. and of course more profit for the Scouts Hut fitting out. I think next Saturday 25th, is the official opening of the Hut, and they have invited all thre village to come to see it. There will be another sale on the same afternoon.

OH gone ringing and I have had the fridge out. What a blimmin mess. I had a cup of blueberries right at the back and had forgotton they were there. They fell over and spilled into the bottom where the water goes and had bunged up the water hole. I had to clean it all out and scrub everything. that will teach me to have it out more often!!! :-( it is now spotless for a while.
Took my electric one with me shopping and I usually have a ciggy on the way there and on the way back. Well I puffed on it just as I reached Bideford bridge and the blimmin battery had run out. I got one puff out of it for the way home but did'nt really mis it so it must be working.

Fiona, my mum would pull my plaits very tight as she did them and that would hurt your scalp too. I would have to loosen them, but when she wasn't looking!! :-D
Got another loo seat to try from B*Q today. OH spotted some polystyrene outside tap frost covers and we got one of those too. Very simple design like a flowerpot with elastic to hook over the tap and you tighten the elastic which is thread through a hole by sliding a clip up it and it presses the flowerpot cup shape to the wall. I think it was £5.
I went for a walk on the parkland by the ice house later on with my camera. I was hoping to get pics of some birds but I never saw a single one!! WHERE are they all?? The collie who brings you his ball to throw was there. His owner disappeared up one of the walkways behind the trees and the dog played quite happily bringing me his ball for ages till he was called then off he shot like a good boy. He's a lovely dog, brings the ball right to your feet then jumps back and crouches to wait for you to throw it, just like that one with the stick in the email Frank sent.
I do the same as you Frank and search around for the best prices. It is a bit of trouble, but well worth it as you say for what you can save. I think you better put some shelves up for all these scarves, Ros can knit them faster than you can get the wool!! :-D :-D
Jane, we get rid of them all each year, but new ones come in each winter from off the field at the back, so it is ongoing. I think now we really will see if we can close the gap under the garage door as that is where they get in to climb into the loft. One neighbour put poison bait in their loft, but I don't fancy more and more decomposing mice up there.
Good and not so good news in the paper tonight. The good news is that Leicester city council, believed to be one of the first in the country to do it, are to start prosecuting people who spit in the street!! About time something was done about this disgusting unhygienic habit.
Not so good, it is proposed the Mayor is to have a £44,000 pay rise, nearly double what it is now and that his deputy and 6 assistant Mayors will get whopping rises too, one of them to more than double his current wage! How on earth can they justify this while cutting back on services?

Mel,it's been two years since Ralph's first cancer operation. He was a heavy smoker before the operation. He stopped smoking at once when he was diagnosed with cancer. But,he used one of those artificial nicorette cigarettes a lot ever since. Some parts of the habit he can't break.
I quit not long after my Mother died .It wasn't easy, there were two or three lapses, but Ive been off them since 1996. Clothing sizes up as is appetite, but hopefully lungs are heathier.

Yes, I spoke with the lady today, She is very pleased with the orders, and yes, still getting the discount, and is even giving us 2 weeks to pay after she has sent the order. Now thats trusting :-) :-)
Pat glad to see you back, even though you are feeling a bit under par. Get a good bit of English food into you and you will be as right as rein.

Frank I saw something today Ros could make to sell for the scouts that would'nt take much wool. It was a cosy to go round your mug and had a hole the handle went through with a small button over the handle to hold it in place. Can only be straight knitting but these ones were in a small cable. Made them look nice.

Morning everyone,
Thanks Mel I did get that message and then saw Frank's too. I have to get used to checking them on this site now. The girls are doing a great job by the sounds of it.
Horrid day here with rain and back to 18 degrees. It was 37 on Monday - can't work it out at the moment. Supposed to get to 27 tomorrow and sunny.
Well we have just had the US President here and I think Madam Prime Minister has a major crush on him. She was swooning, lol barely able to maintain her composure. It was so funny to watch ;-) He is now in Darwin and then flies out later tonight. We must be on the news in the States for a change!!!!
Pat glad you had a good time in Paris, but sorry your tummy is upset. Hope you feel better today.
Jane did you give Chester a kiss and cuddle and tell him you were sorry?
Glad my father's budgie never got out into the wild flocks. Would be terrible to hear all those little voices saying "p**s off" from the trees :-D Ann I'm with Mandy, would not be able to cope or sleep with mice in the house. You are braver than me; I hate mice and cockroaches, yuk.
Liz how is everything going at the new property? Guess you must be pretty busy and is Merlin doing ok?
Frank too true it is hard to buy for someone that has everything and you've got the jewellry side of things covered. Nice pair of gloves for your winter, any DVD's Ros might like? A new coat or boots? What does Ros collect? A nice figurine or some Royal Albert china. Just a few suggestions as I don't know her taste. A new handbag or purse?
Off to have some dinner now. I hope you are all well today and the sun is shining. Might be back later to check out the MOOD.

Morning Kim and All,
Well the sun is shining here today and the washing is already out on the line. Lets hope it dries today. It did'nt yesterday. Thats a thought I better put yesterdays out too. I bunged it in the dryer and did'nt turn it on. don't want it all smelly like if you leave it in the machine and forget about it!!!
Oh has let the girls out this morning and I have'nt been round there yet. I had washed an egg yesterday that was laid on the flaw so I did actually have 9 yesterday. I wonder who laid the one in the house? it could havebeen one of the older ones as I have had one in the house a couple of times recently.
Wonder how many scarves Ros will knit today??
Hope pat feels better today. Kim how are you today please?
Frank what about a nice new pair of dibber and trowel for Ros in stainless steel. I bought mum a set once and she was thrilled with them. Something to use in the garden is always nice I think. She was a lady who had everything and so hard to buy for.

Hi Mel, not too bad thanks. I've been trying to help a fellow on here with some ancestors so using the brain a bit. I'm ready to pull my hair out and he's got none - it's a tricky one. Keeps me occupied :-S I would love to have some chickens and gather eggs, but our yard is too small and someone's cat would get in on the act. We also have a family of foxes in our bush, so they would sniffing around too.

Morning from a dry and sunny Northampton.
Didn't have the best of nights again last night, was awake before 5.00am and was up and about about 6.00am. Will have a nap later no doubt.
Ros watched Kirstie last night, and liked the "Needle Felting" so I have bought her a starter pack as a little extra for Christmas. Something else for her to do. Those little Robins looked great.
Thanks for the sugestions for Ros's presents. She had new stainless steel trowel fork and dibber last yeat. There is no way I could buy Bags Etc. I am coloured blind and wouldn't know if I was buying RED/GREEN/BROWN. and shades of many colours. :-( :-( :-( :-(.
Ann, Conrad is such a softy, he had mice in the garage. Wouldn't put traps down. They worked their way up the garage wall, into the bedroom floors, chewed through the electricity wires, and died. He had to have the house rewired and decomtaminated from the rotting mice. SO WATCH OUT !!! He now puts down HUMAIN TRAPS, and puts them in the field opposite.
Hope our Jane is feeling a bit better today <3 <3 <3 <3

Morning All Gray and cloudy today, OH working from home as his car had to go in for service this morning. it's easier to travel back home by bike and then ride out again to collect the car.
I have been doing a bit of work on my tree this morning, looking at 1911 scottish census. found a few more children that i didn't know were born and a few deaths I needed, don't do a lot these days on my tree from home. as most of what I need are later dates that are not available on line, need to go to the records office.
