In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses,row on row.
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow.
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe,
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders field.

Morning All,

Hope Fiona and Chester feel better after having their clips and stitches out.

That sounded a good dinner for you last night Fiona :-D

Jane thank goodnes at last the fire is out. You will be getting your washing on the line again on good days. Just think how nice it is going to smell when you iron it.

I always think today is such a sad day all round the world. Have you all realised that today will be 11am 11. 11. 2011 ? A truely memorable date.

Jane Report 11 Nov 2011 11:18

Morning Mel
Just had the 2 minutes silence.I always well up,especially when I see the old servicemen in tears.

Stitches out ,and he was a very good boy as some of them were quite tight. He stood on the table and didn't move an inch .

Another misty murky morning. The washing is still wet from yesterday and won't dry today either,so that will have to come in and go on the clothes horse :-S

I better get on with things now before nip out.
Hopefully Fiona's staples will be out shortly.

Fiona Report 11 Nov 2011 13:27

Afternoon All
Well Chester did better than me Jane if he stood still, I certainly did move and flinch , but all the staples are out and the nurse said everything is healing very well, she has put on more dressings just for protection and I can take them off when I have my next shower, but have to leave the dressing on thats over my tummy button for 2or3 more days it was healing but still very tender because of where it is,
I can remove that one by next Tuesday.
hopefully it will be a lot more comfortable trying to move around now.

Good to hear all went well with Fiona and Chester. You'll soon be back to normal Fiona, if you can remember what normal is :-D

Shirl. I didn't get that e.mail on onions.

Have a great weekend in Paris Pat, bet you're looking forward to seeing your son and family and have a great day in London with your daughter Jane, I'm meeting up with one of mine soon for Christmas shopping, going earlier this year, last year Oxford Street was so packed you could hardly move.

Having a relaxing day, doing this and that, mostly sewing, lots of clothes to take in or up although after our Greek meal tomorrow perhaps I should leave the taking in........

Hope you decided on the tiara Ann, if you did you must send us a photo of you modelling it .....lol

Frank Report 11 Nov 2011 15:46

I'll try again.

After watching the 11am 2 minute silence, I went in the garden to do some leaf clearing, fill a green bin, after packing them all down. They don't come again for another week so will have to use the neighbours if we need to.

Glad the fire is now out, I read about it in our Cron and Echo Jane, Do they know how it all started in the first place.??

We have a new Lady Vicar now, and the service on Sunday will include a march by by the Scouts. and the service in church. I normally sit glued to the TV to watch the Parade. But might, just might, go to the Church.

Mel, when I loose my postings I try everything to get it back, but it just goes, with no explanation or anything !!
I have never knitted in my life, and I don't expect to start now. !!"
Glad Fiona has got rid of her staples, and Chester his stitches, Now for the recovery for you both.
Ros is out, up at the house where the sale is tomorrow, getting things ready for 11 am start. No shopping tomorrow, she went this morning.

Pat, You behave yourself in Paris, ;-) ;-) ;-)

If anyone needs the Onion info. I think I have still got it, I can send it on. Let me know.

I have now showered and shaved, going to read the paper and get dinner ready. Liver and Onions, mashed and peas. Nice and quick and haven't had it for a time.

Feeling nostalgic
Fancied a cigarette a couple of times today. Also fancied a pint.
Sometimes fancy all sorts of things I haven't had for a while ;-)

Jane

Jane Report 11 Nov 2011 17:23

David ,maybe you should get some of those 'Action Trousers ' that Ann was talking about the other day ;-) ;-)

Frank they know how the first fire started but haven't revealed it publicly yet.Not sure if they know the reason for the second.I think it might all be very sus :-S :-S
I have a real pain in my neck today(Chris would say I am a pain in the neck) :-| :-|I hope it has gone by the morning when I go to London.

Maureen I haven't had a Greek meal for ages.Problem around here is we don't have a Greek Restaurant .In fact Kettering itself is really bad ,There are far too many Fast Food places.Burton Latimer(Frank knows)has a lot of Italian and Indian restaurants.
I am leaving Hannah to choose somewhere for us to have lunch tomorrow. There are so many places to chose from where she lives.

Frank,Ros has done an amazing job with those lovely scarves. They look great.
I think I had better go and sort out who is eating what tonight.BBL
