Morning All
Annx , Thankfully I don't get any reflux now or nausa while eating. so during one of my sitting down spells.I wrote down a LONG list of all the foods I have not been eating over the last 6 months or so. I intend to put a list up in the kitchen over the next few weeks and tick of each time I introduce another food untill my appetite and diet are back to normal, This is what I have not eaten for quite a while.
Eggs. cheese (just low fat spread and cottage) Ice cream/ all frozen deserts Biscuites/cakes (just low fat) any confectionary Beef Pork Ham Yorkshire pudding Pasta or rice (just low fat tinned rice) Bottled sauces Coffee Tomatoes all alchol all oil in cooking and on food Roast potatoes chips onions Bread rolls (too heavy to digest) yoguarts (just weight watches)
I have had a lot of vegtables and non citris friut so have had a healthy diet just plain boring, looking forward to livening up my food again.
snack time BBL

Morning all,
Fiona that does sound a boring diet, but if you try each one and find you are ok. then you will find what you can and can't eat. So by Christmas you will be able to eat what you like. Ros finds she can't eat bread to often, seems to block her up. !!!
Since Harvey had all this trouble with his stomach, he has tried not to eat his weekend curry. and he is not getting any discomfort. So it could be the spices that upset him.
I didn't realise you were all so young. I must bore you to death when I speak about the war years and rationing SORRY.
Ros is at the hairdressers at 1.30 till about 4.30/5.00om Having wash/set and coloured. Quite a long job.
Trying to think what to do with the cold Roast pork today. Might well end up in a casserole, with Carrot, Onion, tomato, and mushrooms. Mashed Pots and cabbage.

Afternoon Mandy
Oh where do I start I am longing to taste
CHOCOLATE!!!! A real Cracker with some Cheese, I don't like really strong cheese, but a bit of lancashire crumbly cheese would be nice. A latte cup of coffee. all milky and sweet. a peice of roast beef and yorkshire pudding with yummy gravy. a egg & tomato mayonise sandwhich, an oven chip buttie :-D :-D lol a peice of gamon with pineapple and salad , saiad cream on the side, maybe a few chips, a white wine spritza (pub lunch) a chinese meal. an Italian cream pasta dish made by my son-in-law a chocolate eclair ozzing with cream.
I could go on for ever :-D But I will not rush into all this yummy food, might not even get to taste all this food this year.

mmmm that's making my mouth water Fiona, and I haven't even been denied tasty food. I think the Italian cream pasta sounds the best closely followed by a Chinese meal.
I didn't see that thing about onions Mel. If it carries that much bacteria I should be seriously ill by now, I always have a bit of onion in my salad, and put the rest in a seal proof container in the fridge, usually lasts about a week :-S :-S
I have read the book Ann, The Help it was brilliant, and daughter has seen the film she said it was just as good as the book so I think you will enjoy it tomorrow.
When is Anne off to Madiera.

Fiona ,just reading your list of things to look forward to..........you will be in for a real treat and a burst of taste buds :-D :-D :-D
Ann the film was BRILLIANT you must try and get to see it.I won't tell you about it ,but both Fitz and me and a lot of the audience had a few tears :-(
Have given my blood and done a quick trip to Tes**.I thought my car looked filthy and when I looked it is covered in a thin coating of really horrible black stuff..........Ash fall from the you know what :-S :-S :-S :-S This is what is in the air so we must be breathing it in :-0 :-0
While I was at the pictures.James spotted a Stoat right up near the house with a mouse or shrew in it's mouth. It ran of somewhere with it and then came back again got another poor creature and then went to the summerhouse, where I know there are shrews underneath..He got a couple of pics although not terribly clear.I will send on.I think it is quite unusual to see a Stoat quite so near to a home.Quite exciting really.

Hi All
Mel, I do eat bacon sarnies but only 1 slice as I don't like salty food, when OH cooks gamon steaks he soaks mine in water for a while, before I was unwell I had big problems when I went out for meals as a lot of chefs seem to highly season (sp) there food and even the soup is too salty for me , I usually stick to Melon or a prawn cocktail for a starter. and when visiting Italian resturants I like to start with brusheta (sp)
I have lost my spell check on here.
Jane I have already had that burst of taste buds experience , it was the following day after my op and it was just a baked potatato with Flora, roast chicken and lettuce (rocket) and I thought the hospital kitchen had put something on the lettuce as it was so strong and the chicken was so sweet, it was wonderful to taste the indervidual food after everything just tasting the same.
Just got into the bath this afternoon when the doorbell rang , OH answered it and it was one of my Wednesday coffee pals with a card, Flowers and plant, great card with 3 Dolly Bird friends sitting round a table drinking coffee, looked nothing like us oldies, but it was nice to dream :-D :-D

Hi Everyone,
Dull and raining here now, can't put off getting some washing done any longer or we will run out of socks!!
Thanks for that Jane, I will have to see if it comes to Warwick Arts over the winter. I think it is pretty incredible to have a stoat in your garden, even more amazing to get a pic of it as they move so fast. It doesn't bode well for the summerhouse shrews though does it.
Thank you Maureen, I'm looking forward to it even more now! OH is into spy films/political dramas at the moment and wants to see the Ides of March next, so it will be nice for me to see something not 'spy' if you see what I mean. What is your next task on the house then?
Mel, I just looked those cigarettes up.....don't they look just like the real thing! I hope they help you both to cut down and that you have some spare batteries too......you don't want to get a flat battery and no 'spare'.
Fiona, what a good idea to do a list of foods to look forward to. I know exactly what you mean about 'too much salt'. I like a bacon sarnie occasionally and a bit of gammon, well soaked before it is cooked, but I have never added salt in any cooking since I got married in 1969, not even the 'pinch' in recipes nor had any on F&C. I find some chefs spoil things for me with too much salt. You can add but you can't take away can you and nothing is worse than the flavour being masked with salt taste. Gravy is the worst and I usually have just a drizzle on carveries.
Mandy, I can just imagine that 'new carpet' smell mmm! Does it look warm and cosy now?
I couldn't believe the shapes and sizes of the loo seats this morning, none quite like ours either (weird shape too like yours Jane). Silly me had only measured it one way, didn't realise they varied front to back as well. Anyway we decided to take one near enough the right width and bring it back if it wouldn't fit. (it doesn't!) I said to OH I'd sooner pay more and get a sturdy one rather than anything flimsy. I said I didn't want to hear it shouting 'help' from the bathroom. He said, 'well, if it saw you first it would be shouting "one at a time please"!!! :-0 :-0 It is hard to be offended when you can't help but laugh!! lol

Evening all,
Been a better day today.
I have a new woman in my house. ;-) ;-) ;-) With her hair trimmed and the blond put in. She looks a lot different.
Jane that stoat was quite a good picture. Very difficult to take, they are so quick. I caught one running along a road gutter when I was a boy, picked it up and it sank it's teeth in my hand. Had to shake it to get it off. Had holes in my hand for ages. :-0 :-0 :-0
Fiona, Glad you are looking forward to tasting your favorite foods again. Our trouble is, we can eat what we like and take it for granted.
Shirl, I know you are older than me. And it shows :-D :-D :-D :-D You poor old thing. <3 <3 I know you will get your own back somehow. !!
Any progress on the roof Mel.?? Like me you enjoy your Bacon sarnies. I have one most mornings, with an egg in it as well. !!!

Ann, it does look nice and cosy now , i gave it a light hoover as there are loads of fluffy bits.
When i was ironing this afternoon i thought of that song Dashing Away With the Smoothing Iron,Dashing Away With Smoothing Iron , she stool my heart way !! , buts that's the only bit i could remember , how does it start ?
