Morning All,

It's dry here at the mo, but doesn't look as it it will last. I think I will do a few errands first and then some house jobs I haven't managed to do with OH in the way!! lol

The teacher tells us what we are making each week Mel, eg the twisted or plaited necklace last week, tells us what we need and shows us some examples so we can see the different effects we can get. Then we use our own beads and create our own effects!! She provides things that are not worth buying to get just one of and we buy those from her. She takes photos of everything at the end of each class to show to other classes to give them an idea of the variety of effects too.

Happy first birthday to your grandson tomorrow Pat. I hope you have a nice time at your sons and with all your grandchildren there I bet they will be pleased to see you too.

I bet Jane has pooter withdrawal symptoms by now!!! :-S

I hope your cough soon goes Mandy and didn't keep you awake last night. I hope Fiona is feeling a bit better now too.

Toodle pip for now.

Morning all,

Raining here , not good weather for any firework displays that have been planned , still quite mild though and now brightening up .

Haven't seen the news today ,but did read on here that several people had died in the terrible crash in somerset .

Been shopping this morning only really needed some milk but still managed to spend £30 plus !!

Mel, did you say it was internet trouble Jane was having ? hope she can get on today .

Hubby is working this morning ,then this afternoon i think he is going to put my shelf and mirror up in the hall, the carpet should be going down on Wednesday and then it will all be finished .

Have a good weekend away Pat, enjoy the fireworks.

Still no Sheila or William for a while now !!

Love to Fiona <3 hope she's not in any pain now and back with us soon .

Here I am ,but just briefly.Had to have a new Modem but some connection doesn't fit so we need an adapter or something.James managed to get this modem working again (for now).Chris has just gone to get whatever it is .

Ann,yet another masterpiece.You clever girl.

Frank ,I think that looks lovely wool.Very different.

I hope the weather stays dry for Pat tonight. It is very murky here, and misty but dry.

What a dreadful tragedy on the M5.All those poor people killed and injured ,and for those who witnessed it ,they will have nightmares for years to come.My heart goes out to them all.

Just my second call of the day from (the Indian) :-S.I thought they had given up as I haven't had one of those calls for a while. The first one this morning was at 8 30 !.

Fiona I hope you are more comfortable now and not too sore.Hopefully we will hear from you soon.

Right I must go and put my shopping away, before Chester starts investigating the bags.
He was put on the naughty step yesterday afternoon as he stole some food off the table. He has never done that before :-| :-| :-|..Just once when he was still a pup he pinched one of my Mums sandwiches off her plate which was on the coffee table.

Fingers crossed I will be back later.

Another piece of lovely jewellery Ann, I can see why you are enjoying it, instant results, you go in with all the beads and materials and come out with a lovely necklace or bracelette. Go for the tiarra, you could wear it next time we meet up .....lol

Chester is pushing his luck now Jane, I don't mind too much where the cats go but won't allow them on the table or working tops. Years ago my son came home from one of his late nights out and took a photo of Oscar sitting on the table, .......there ..... he said ...... you thought they did as they were told didn't you.

Happy birthday to your grandson Pat, hope you have a great time with the family, fingers crossed the rain keeps off for the fireworks.

I'm having a sort out day, not throwing anything out just moving it around .....lol

Just had a chuckle reading the local paper.
Who was talking about the Hamiltons the other day?......Well they are both in the Panto here for Xmas.Neil ,will play Baron Hardup (lol) and Christine the Fairy Godmother.
Also in the paper ,the stable owner across the way has had to have 2 horses seen by the vet for breathing problems due to the smoke. :-S

The washing machine is whizzing away.I now have Fitz's son's washing in.One more load to do.He is off to LA in the week .So needs clean undies and tops .Typical lad .Everything rolled up in balls .I don't think he realised I would be unraveling his boxers lol.

It is so dark here I have the lights on.Chester is being a whinge .He seems to be limping a lot .I think it is maybe where they struggled to get the needle in the vein .So I have given him a pain killer.Hopefully he will go to sleep in a minute ;-) I need a bit of peace.

It was me Jane who was talking aout the Hamiltons! I saw them at that Drinks Party we went to. I think Pantomine extremely suitable for them!!! Better day today, Apparently North Wiltshire and Kent (as far as I can see from their websites) are the two authorities who have decided to charge for pre-planning advice from April this year! N.W are quite blatently saying that they are doing it to raise money, and hope to raise LOTS of it in the next 12 months ! Other authorities are set to follow suit!! Mind you, at least we don't have to pay to use the local 'Tip'. In Dulverton, our old local one, they had started to charge £2 a visit!! one sack or several, it made no difference. Result was that lots of peoples backs went up and the incidents of 'Fly Tipping' went up overnight! Have made a few contingency plans on the house front, so will have to see how it all 'pans out'! at least forewarned etc! Hunt up here today, so Merlin was in most of the day as they were hareing up and down, but compared to the 'Stag Hounds' in Somerset, were MUCH better behaved and courteous. The Staghounds were SO arrogant, if you didn't like stag hunting (me) then they regarded you as S--on---a---S---!! As for the re-cycling, I shall put it out on Tuesday, and if they don't come, I shall complain, and if they still don't come, it'll have to go into Landfill, and thats that!!

Stripped the bad and washed it and put it on the line. The sun has just gone here so I better get it in and iron the pillow slips before they dry right out.

Jane good to see you back with us again.

No Frank today?????????????

Hi to everyone else.

No sun here at all today. :-( OH phoned from Workington to say it was a lovely sunny day there.

That was a horrendous accident wasn't it.......Kim knew about it before I did!! How's things on the home front now Kim and how are you?

Jane, when you first mentioned about that smoke I wondered about the animals. When we were on our hols where the heavy horses were, one horse had been retired from working on the London streets as the fumes had affected his lungs. Naughty Chester thought he'd have a 'taster' session then!! lol :-D He must have liked the smell. It is probably best that Fitz's son doesn't know you've been unravelling his boxers. lol Doesn't Fitz's machine have a way to release the door? I must admit I dread the washing machine going wrong.

Liz, the tip here is free too (at the moment!) but if you take a van, you have to pay. As you say charging encourages fly tipping.

Well the whizz bangs have started here!!!

Jane

Jane Report 5 Nov 2011 18:17

Liz,I hate any form of hunting :-S :-S.We do get the odd Hunt around here. The horses are beautiful, but that's the only nice thing as far as I'm concerned

I think the Hamiltons will good in Panto lol. They are a strange couple ,but there is something about them.

Not Roast Gammon then Mel :-D :-D :-D
Not quite sure about my dinner.I think it is going to be scrambled eggs, sausages, mushrooms, pancetta and asparagus.Bit of a mish mash but should be tasty.I hope Chris isn't expecting meat and veg.He will have to wait until tomorrow for that as I'm doing roast beef.

A few pops and bangs oudoors now.I will turn the sound up on the TV soon as the big Firework Display at Wicksteed soon.Chester is tucked up in his bed at the moment.I'm hoping he will stay there ;-)

Yes where is our Frank today? Maybe Sheila is visiting April .

I see the number of fatalities is expected to rise from the M5 disaster. Some vehicles had completely melted :-( :-(.When I think of the number of times I have driven on that bit of motorway from here to Plymouth and back ,it gives me the shivers.

Watching the Impressionists .Some of the characters are brilliant.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Nov 2011 18:28

Ann,I wouldn't be at all surprised it there are some long term health affects on some animals and wildlife from the smoke.I don't like to think about it.The other thing is picking fresh garden produce. No -one has mentioned that. :-S.
Luckily for us there are no overground veg.Just leeks and carrots.

Tom(Fitz's son) came to collect his washing and brought me a very pretty White Orchid. How nice is that.I didn't mention his undies lol.

Although he could be busy shaking his sparklers.....with it being firework night.

Here I am at last.
The Web has been down since I got up this morning. I unpluged everything, and pushed all the buttons/keys, and it finally came on five minutes ago.

What would I have done, as my favourite is on TV.!!!

That crash in Taunton (M5) is the worst for 20 years. Jan has gone down to Torquay today.I bet she was diverted. We haven't heard from her this evening. So trust everything is OK.

We had a Chinese tonight, as usual, no cooking.

While Ros was out this morning, I hoovered through. The carpet looked a bit grubby in front on my chair, so got the steamer out and cleaned it. Got a big toiwel down at the moment, so as not to mark the clean area.

Hope the horses are OK Jane, nobody seems to think of them, but they do breath the same air. Shows Chester is starting to feel better, pinching food of the table.
It reminds me of my old cat (Stamp) at the Post office. We got a chicken out of the freezer, put it on the worktop to thaw out. When we came up from the shop it was on the kitchen floor, with claw marks all over the skin :-D :-D :-D

Going on Ebay now. Hope to see you tomorrow.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Nov 2011 21:44

Remember writing your name in the air with sparklers???
Just going to watch Rolf Harris now with Piers Morgan. He is a real old softy is Rolf .I bet he has a few tears.

Annx Report 5 Nov 2011 21:45

I've often wondered if those steamers are any good. Does anyone use one in the bathroom? Our white tiles in the shower are satin smooth and not glossy and need a bit of scrubbing at times and I thought a steamer may be good for those.

That was nice of Tom and a nice surprise Jane! :-) I hadn't thought about veg with the smoke either.......poor horses, their grass would be covered in the fallout.

Well sister and BIL have now gone home they brought the Chinese meal with them ,and they had left out the Chicken balls that sister wanted so BIL had to go back for them !! last week we were missing some thing and BIL had to go back ,don't think they will be getting our trade if they keep doing this !!

We've still got fireworks going off here !!

Frank , i also wondered what those steam cleaners were like , the little ones are always spilling things on my carpet and i wondered about getting one of them , do they leave the carpet very wet ?

Well that's me done for tonight .Night Night .

Hello everyone,

Two hot days, but it's clouded over now and looking stormy.

Jane I did ask you, but forgotten what it is that is burning or what do they make? I hope all the locals and animals will be ok. So awful to be waking to that smoke every day. Well done on getting Chester to sit on the naughty step, I used to carry my daughter kicking and screaming to her room for time-out, lol. Chester is a clever boy. Your orchid sounds lovely, you must have been chuffed to receive it.

Thank you to everyone who asked about my cat. Joel took her back on Friday and I had managed to get a wee sample. He gave her fluids and said she was dehydrated, plus sent off blood tests and gave her anti-biotics. That's fun trying to get them down her throat with a pill popper. She gave Keith quite a scratch last night. We got the tests back and they indicated that she had been fighting some sort of infection, but no signs of a tummy bug. Whatever it was, if flattened her. He also thinks she has a neurological thing going on as her head wobbles and her eyes are strange, but she has been that way for years.

Hope Fiona is feeling fit and well enough to be back soon and better than ever.

Mandy hope your cold is passing too.

We have to pay to take anything to the tip by the boot load or trailer, always have. They get us for anything over here and now they want to rezone parkland and playing fields for more housing. What are the sports teams and young kids supposed to do now??? It's a world gone crazy :-S They banned Cracker Night, as we used to call it, back in the late 60's. Used to wait all year for it to come around and really had some fun with my brothers, but that's all gone now too :-( Liz that 60 pound fee is scandalous for every visit!!!!!

OH is out buying some new furniture. We looked at it before I got really ill a couple of months ago. Now it is half price - a dining suite, tv stand much smaller than the one we have now (blo*dy great thing it is) and a lamp table for the corner. Now we have to work out what to do with the old stuff. Thought about e-Bay, but no one is really looking for this colonial type furniture these days.

Frank did sell a set of 15 books on e-Bay for $80. Had previously listed them with no luck and then somebody followed us up with an email. They will be posted off to South Australia next week.

Hope Pat is enjoying her weekend with the family. Must be great to get away so often, especially when you are flat out at work all week.

I might go and have an icy pole and fold some washing. It has got so humid now.

Hi to Shirl, Sheila, Ann, Anne, Maureen and everyone else. Have a good day.
