Kim I do hope they can find out what is wrong with your cat. It is so worrying when they are ill and old too. Poor might. Hope the vet can do something for her and she is a bit better tomorrow. <3 <3

Morning everyone,

Mel, we have rain today !! but not a lot ,its coming down in spits and spots at the moment ,its one of those days when you don't know if you should hang washing out or not .

Kim, your poor little cat ,i do hope the vet can do some thing for her, we do love our pets and carn't bear to see them in pain can we, do let us know how she get on .

Well i think hubby will have forty fits when i tell him how much i've spent today on the little ones for Christmas , i used my double up tokens at Tes*o's and got them some more toys .
Got Jake a Woody talking figure, Chelsea a Barb*e doll in a car and little Katie a wooden dolls house with figures and furniture.

No cooking for me today we're off to sons for tea tonight , Spaghetti Bolognaise i think .
Still all bunged up with this cold ,i really wish i could clear my nose .

Love to Fiona, <3 hope she had a good night .

Morning Just 11.54 start.

We had rain in the night, this morning it's very mild. but also very cloudy.

Ros's jaw aches this morning, and her bottom lip feels twice it's size. NO I didn't belt her in the night. .

Nothing to do today, for either of us. I feel a bit short of puff this morning, with odd jabbing pains in my chest. So will take it easy.

Glad Fiona is on the road to recovery, with a bit of luck she might be home today.

Mandy, Have you tried putting your head over a basin of boiling water with Vic# in it. Will make your nose run, but certainly helps clear your head.

Kim, Any news on your cat.??? Our old boy, still lays on the arm of my chair on an old towel, gets up when he needs food/water, or going out to do his business. He's not in pain, but seems to get thinner every day, even though he eats like a horse. If he goes to the Vets, I know he won't come back. While he's not showing pain, I will leave him where he is. Can't think of my life without him after all these years.

Jane is the smoke still hanging over you, with this damp weather, I don't suppose it can get away.

Hows our Liz after her encounter with the Hamiltons, They seem to get everywhere these days. The Hamilltons not liz and Ian.

Jane Report 3 Nov 2011 12:14

I think we will have rain any minute !.It is getting blacker and blacker.,and again really quite warm.It seems crazy to still be in summer tops.

Kim ,I will keep everything crossed for Kiara.Maybe it is an infection that can soon be sorted and nothing really nasty.

Chester seems to be full of beans and is wanting me to keep kicking a ball around in the garden.I don't want him tearing about too much in case he busts his stitches :-S

Mel did OH manage to sort out your leaky porch?
Mandy I reckon your OH will take away your purse soon :-D :-D.Those double up vouchers are good though aren't they.

There was a Staffie at the vets and the noises it was making was hilarious .I said to the owner the dog should be on Youtube. He said she is lol.I will see if I can find it.
Must nip out now so BBL

Looking forward to seeing Fiona back on here soon, hope she's allowed home today.

Ooooh thanks Mel, winner of the pumpkin competition, my one did look good enough to eat .....lol. Lucky OH is handy, usually most of the cost for repairs is the labour charges.

I was going to say that about the Hamiltons, especially when there's freebees going.

Hope Kiara is better today Kim, they are like babies, they can't tell you what's wrong, I've shed many a tear over Alfie. though, touch wood, we've been vet free for quite a while.

Enjoyed seeing the new photo Ann, I think we must all have had those cardigans, some two toned, where mum was using up spare balls of wool.

Kirstie's Handmade Britain was on last night, definitely warming to her. If anyone is interested The Slap is on BBC4 tonight at 10 pm saw the first episode last week and it looks quite good, I've got the book but haven't read it yet.

Anne Report 3 Nov 2011 16:35

It's as black as night here and pouring with rain, it came from nowhere about an hour ago. Glad we are only going to our neighbours tonight as its not a night to be out and about.
Have been to the end os session lunch for TIC today. We had a lovely pub lunch in one of the local villages and the portions were hugh. Hey we now have thunder and lightening Ugh. I hope the power does not go off as I need to cook for hubby. We are prone to power cuts when the weather is bad as we still have lots of overhead cables around.
I do hope Fiona is feeling better and I have been thinking about her all week. I am pleased to know that the operation was a success.
Kim I hope your cat is feeling better now, give her a hug from me. More thunder and lightening so will send message whilst bI can :-0 :-0

Maureen

Maureen Report 3 Nov 2011 16:45

It's really dark and wet here too Anne, although no thunder or lightening. Glad it's raining, I don't trust son to water the grass seed. It will be the last thing on his mind. Our pub meals aren't up to much, I reckon they get it all out of packets but will be going to a Greek Restaurant next week, their portions are enormous too, love the Mousaka but it's just too much to finish.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Nov 2011 16:53

Liz thanks for the pics they are lovely. I like the one with Ian doing the highland fling!! and Millie's bosoms :-D No honestly that one of Millie is great.

Who is it in the trap with Ian please? Is it your daughter??

Merlin looks really good all dolled up to go in the trap.

Spent the afternoon hanging on to rope as OH was trying to get the sheet on the roof. Of course I did it all wrong as usual :-(
The bungalow now has a big green scarf on it's head :-0

Of course once we tried putting the sheet on the wind came up and blew it right up in the air. OH said I may end up over the Manor if I am not careful. One of the rings pulled out straight away so he has had to tie it all to the sheet in a big bunch incase it happens again.

I put my towels out and they were blowing in the wind and we did have some spits and spots while I was hanging on to the sheet but I could'nt let go!!

Once it was up there I brought them in and they are not too bad considering we have'nt had any sun today but the wind must have helped and they smell lovely :-)

Once we came in and I made a coffee the wind dropped completely.......sods law!!

David Report 3 Nov 2011 17:16

We have employed a roofer for 2 days to replace and secure broken slates and to do the pointing of the ridge tiles.

Back tomorrow to replace rear guttering then it ought to be finished.

Kitchen floor to be paved flagged whatever the correct term is.
All happening.

No Mel, the lady in the trap was someone at this Exmoor Pony open day we went to last summer. She wanted a ride in the trap, and rather kept 'on' about it till Ian said OK, but at her OWN risk! Merlin behaved well and didn't tip her out!!!! We've had a couple of 'cloud bursts' today! water everywhere, Merlin stayed firmly in his Field Shelter, whereas Millie gazed gloomily through the back door and hopped out for a quick wee and shot back again!! This afternoon was better, still damp but WARM!! Mel, I DO hang washing out! like you I love the smell of outside dried washing, and hang out when I can! Gosh, Frank, the Hamiltons!! As you say, they get EVERYWHERE, and do seem extremely pleased with themselves!!! not my favorite couple!

Anne

Anne Report 3 Nov 2011 17:33

The storm has gone but it is so dark outside.Just fed hubby his Fish pie and chips and now going to catch up with some tele.
Maureen Wish we had a Greek restaurant nearby. I love greek food, shame about their problems with the euro :-)

Jane

Jane Report 3 Nov 2011 17:39

Liz thanks for showing us your pics.At last you are in your new home and all looking jolly happy.I reckon you are going to very happy there.

Anne ,I hope you manage to cook OH's dinner and you don't lose the electrics.
The rain I thought was coming earlier never materialsed, but it could be not far away now.
Mel make sure the scarf is tied down well.If it gets too windy you might all take off ;-)

After last night's disastrous dinner I decided to make a special effort today.I have Normandy Pork Casserole in the oven.Diced pork, lardons, shallots ,onion, celery .Cider, and my home made chicken stock.I just need to add Creme Fraiche,Dijon Mustard and cornflour at the end,new potatoes, runner beans and baby carrots.
I hope I can eat it as I have just had a big tummy upset. :-S.I have had white sliced bread today, and I'm sure it just doesn't agree with me.It has happened so many times before.I never learn :-| :-|

Chris had a long walk at Foxton Locks early this morning, and said there were plenty of narrow boats. He is now at a meeting until 6.30

I imagine Fiona will be back home now resting up and being waited on by her lovely OH.I'm sure she will take a little while to get over her op,but will be pleased it is over and done with now.

Maureen, that is good that you haven't had to visit the Vet recently with little Alfi.Long may it continue :-D

Frank that email from Berlin was absolutely amazing!!!!.How clever.I have passed it on to a few more people who I think will love it.

I better go and check the casserole ;-)

Just had a call from FIONA.She is home ,sounding nice and chirpy, but in some discomfort and tired. She said to say HI to everyone ,and as soon as she can sit at the computer she will be back, and thanks for thinking of her.

Evening All,

Well we've had a few heavy showers here!! It's been very warm though, all the shops are boiling hot. I think they must have the heating on!! :-S

Sorry your puss cat isn't well Kim. I hope she is ok and soon gets better.

Thanks for all the lovely pics Liz..........looks like there is lots of storage space where you are now and lots of potential. I see you are getting to grips with some pruning and that is a lovely shelter for Merlin. Millie has such soulful eyes doesn't she. The colour of the girl's hair in the trap is just a shade darker than my sister's.

I watched Kirstie last night and to be honest I did not think hers looked the best cushion........still the judges weren't marking just on looks were they.

We also watched Frozen Planet again...........amazing, a caterpillar that takes 14 years to become a moth. Each winter it goes under a rock where it freezes, even it's heart stops beating. It defrosts each spring, crawls out and munches away until the next winter.

Mel, it's a good job you didn't have an umbrella with you........Mary Poppins!!!

We had a nice carvery again today, just veg, turkey and a spoonful of gravy for me, but I have to have crackling so I can give it to OH!! lol

I wonder if Fiona is home yet.......I hope so, there is nothing like your own bed.

Annx Report 3 Nov 2011 18:42

Ooops, I took ages to submit my post and didn't see yours Jane!! Good that Fiona is home.....she will get more rest there.

Jane I think a dinner not up to scratch sometimes is a good thing!!! lol Makes them appreciate the other times when it is!! :-D

Every meal should be your best meal :-D :-D :-D made with loving care for you husbands and children. Like what I do. !!!

Ros did one ot her curry's tonight, very nice it was too.

I haven't sent a photo of the scarves yet, as she has given them all to the organiser ready for the next sale. As soon as she makes some more I will get photo and send it on In the meantime I will try to find some on Ebay and forward those.

Glad Fiona is home, that the best place to recover.

Been so warm here today, I am sitting here in a pair of shorts, with no heating on

David are you having your kitchen floor tiled, or having the old fashioned flag stones put down.

Going for a shower now, and watch a bit of tele.

See you in the morning.

Jane

Jane Report 3 Nov 2011 21:23

Every meal I make is with loving care Frank ;-) ;-) ;-).I do my utmost lol.
Have to say tonight's dinner has been a HUGE success :-D :-D.Sometimes though it is pants :-S.I do get fed up though trying to find different meals to do.
I remember my Mum saying exactly the same thing.Back then I didn't understand what she was complaining about.NOW I totally understand :-D

The smoke seems to be creeping near :-|.I am getting a funny feeling in my nose. Not a good sign :-S I think I better shut the bedroom and ensuite windows.

I know what you mean Jane about finding different meals on DAILY basis! Last night we were planning fish, but it had been in the freezer for too long and neither of us liked the 'look' of it, so we ended up with boiled eggs and feeling cross!!! Nothing to watch on TV either, so watched an old video!!!! Tonight, Shepherds Pie is the order of the day, should be pretty fooll proof! Hope Fiona is feeling better this am, and will be back with us. Not sure of the weather today, looks a bit threatening, it certainly chucked it down in the night!
