Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Nov 2011 17:02

We have an emergancy here today. Our porch is leaking and oh has been up the roof over the porch and the gully has dropped and the water is leaking through and has made the wall by the front door damp and the carpet!! :-( :-S

Not covered by the insurance so he will have to get a big roofing sheet till he can sort it out!! Shock horror!! More Expense!! Still at least oh can do it so it won't be as expensive as having someone in to do it.

Hope Fiona is ok after her op. can't wait to hear from her to know thats she's ok.

Afternoon everyone,

Hope Fiona is now recovering after her op ,been thinking of her today , i don't remember if she said she was in over night or not !!

Been really sunny here all day , we went out and had a nice lunch, i had turkey and all the trimmings and hubby had a slice of gammon and a slice of pork with all the trimmings ,two roasts for £11 !!

We called in at Asd* on the way home , spent £70 ,mostly on Christmas presents for the little ones , got the two girls a lovely little checked skirt with minnie mouse tops and Jake some skinny jeans and a top .

Well Jane , looks like Chester is making the most of having an op , he 's lording it up on the bed !! bet he thought ,after putting me through all this i'am having the quilt !! :-D :-D :-D

So Ros has cleaned the supplier out of the wool then Frank lol , nice of her to let you have it a bit cheaper, every little helps !!

Well better get Toby his tea ,don't think we'll want any thing to eat for a while ,we're still full .

Evening All,

Lovely pics Maureen. Little Harry looks scrumptious in his pumpkin outfit......love the message on the front! Doesn't your daughter have lovely flawless skin.

Yes I wonder how Fiona is now.....glad and relieved it is all over I should think.

Mel I bet you were surprised when your OH produced a little bird!! It'll be rabbits out of a hat next. What a nuisance the porch leaking, but better now for your OH to repair in this nice weather before any bitterly cold wind or snow arrives. Reminds me, we must put the lagging on our outside tap.

Fancy them saying that about the ash this late on Jane. I suppose cats might be most susceptible as they lick their fur a lot. Chester looked well settled on your improvised bed. I bet he will be expecting it tonight as well!

We got our 4th delivery of replacement slabs today!! They keep arriving damaged and needing to be replaced. We thought these last 2 slabs would be the end of it but no.....both damaged!! This time we refused to take them and I have asked for a refund. OH is sick of breaking pallets up and taking them to the tip. lol

Apart from nipping to B*Q for some mirror clips and a mooch around we have had a nice quiet day.

I like your new pics Pat and Shirl.

Sounds like a lovely lunch Mandy. Are you a bit better today? I bet the children will love their outfits.

Ros must be a fast knitter mustn't she. How many scarves has she made up to now Frank? Good of the seller to give you a discount like that.......I bet she is getting a bigger order in than usual now!! lol I bet Ros's jaw will be a bit sore after that deep drilling.

Jane Report 2 Nov 2011 17:46

No Maureen ,we had our separate beds last night ,but he snuck in this morning :-D for a cuddle and a lick of my toes :-| :-|

I bet Fiona is desperate to get home now.But I think she has to stay the night.

Frank we seem to have had a few murders here lately. What is happening to this place :-S :-S :-S

Mel is it the amount of rain you have had that is causing your problem or is it one of those leaks that has been happening for a while without you knowing?
Like you say good job your OH can deal with it and save some £££.

Have we heard from Mandy today? I hope that nasty cold hasn't got worse as they are supposed to be eating out tonight.

Just given Chester his antibiotic tab. They are Massive :-S

Jane Report 2 Nov 2011 17:51

Oh Look ,there's Mandy lol.Glad you enjoyed your meal.(I thought it was tonight)
And Ann to.Hi Ann.

I have a nice butter and herb Chicken roasting ,and my mouth is watering. It smells so good.Problem is Chester thinks it smells good too,and he is being a pest.He hasn't stopped eating today. He now is doing the attention seeking thing.Standing in the middle of the room with his ball making noises at me as he wants me to put food in it so he can roll it around and pick up the grub as it falls out of the hole.it is his favourite pastime lol

MillymollyAmanda Report 2 Nov 2011 18:12

Yes i'am here , i do feel better today thanks ,but i'am still all stuffed up with my cold .
Chester must be feeling ok if he wants to play with his power chew ,its funny how quickly they recover from op's they don't seem to be bothered that they have been cut about yet they must be sore .

I wondered if Ros is knitting with that Can Can wool Ann, it knits up really quickly .
What a palaver with the slabs ,i should think they should send you some free of charge !!
i'll take a photo of the little one skirts and tops ,they are really cute .

MillymollyAmanda Report 2 Nov 2011 18:18

Jane

Jane Report 2 Nov 2011 18:50

I wish we still had all out knitted cardies from school. They all look the same style lol
Ann, that is so bad with all your damaged slabs.Good on you for refusing to accept them. It's not good enough is it.
I will be in my own bed tonight, even though I quite enjoyed sleeping down here last night.I need to be at the Vets again in the morning for !0 for the post op check.I don't think Chester will be too impressed :-S

I wonder about this announcement from Defra. It makes me think have they found something that's not good??.The poor horses across the road have been right in smoke again today.I walked down to the post box earlier and it was really smeechy.(sp).I had to cover my nose and mouth again. We are now into the 4th week with this second fire. :-| :-|

I haven't even begun to think about Xmas yet Mandy. But I did buy a load of things for Ethan as early pressies.I thought it was best I did it now as the post in Dubai is so unreliable I didn't want to risk posting parcels.
I nearly bought some Xmas cards today ,but changed my mind .

Have uploaded a piccy (at last) of me and Millie taken last winter on the bridge over the 'Barle' in Withypool (our old village). The snow lasted for about 2 weeks, cleared, and then came back again thicker than ever! Like you Jane I haven't given Xmas a lot of thought! I guess it will soon be upon us, but I tend to leave it till the 1st week in December, and then give it my FULL attention!!! Went out yesterday evening to a 'Drinks Party'. and guess what, Christine and Neil Hamillton were there!! I'm afraid I'm not that keen on them, so gave them a wide berth!!!! Do hope Fiona is OK, she should feel a lot better, and be completely fit for Xmas which will be lovely for her.

UPDATE ON FIONA
Just spoke to her OH.The op went fine .She went down a bit later than they expected .Her OH is just about to go and see her with her daughter and Sofia.
All being well she should leave hospital about lunch time tomorrow.
I asked him to pass on all out love and said we have been thinking of her today.
I even had a little chat with Sofia. Not that I understood what she was saying lol
I think some of it was in Italian ! Bless.

Thanks Jane for letting us know about Fiona ,good to hear that the op went well ,hope she has a comfortable night ,and comes home tomorrow ,she will be glad now that its all over so she can get back to normal.

Annx

Annx Report 2 Nov 2011 20:22

Thanks for passing that on Jane. Good that they expect she will be going home tomorrow, I had thought she may be in about 3 days!!! I bet she can't believe it is all done at last and will feel so much better without that reflux making her feel ill all the time. I hope she has a really restful night tonight.

Yes Mandy.....another knitted cardi and I think the button holes had gone BIG!! Remember how the buttons would flip undone when that happened. :-S :-S

Jane

Jane Report 2 Nov 2011 22:09

Ann I still have trouble with buttons popping open, just around the chest area :-S.I suddenly realise it is gaping ( in the wrong place)
Hopefully Fiona will have a good night sleep tonight and be ready to get back home tomorrow.
My Dinner was a bit of a disaster .Dry chicken and over cooked veg......I blame my sister for it as I was too long on the phone with her.Chris said he wasn't too keen on the cremated veg and said it was the worst meal he has had in a long time :-0 :-0 :-0.I thought it was edible (just) ,James wasn't impressed either. So all in all a meal to forget.
Have just given Chester his pain killer ,so hopefully he will settle down now .I will let James let him out later for a last wee.
I am looking forward to collapsing into my bed soon.
My house is smelling of smoke tonight :-S :-S.I've just about had enough of it now.
So goodnight from the bad cook and cheesed off me .It will be wonderful to eventually smell fresh air ,once this fire is out. It's been too long now.
Night Night everyone xx

Morning All,

Jane thanks for letting us know Fiona was ok after her op.I wonder how long it will be before we get her back online to tell us all about it and how she feels now. Love to you Fiona <3 <3
Get well soon.

OH has to go up the church this morning to see about the boiler. They have been having a bit of trouble with it and have to have a pipe on it welded up.

You all say about not haveing any rain well I wish you could have someof ours. It is wet again today and just not nice out there.

Mandy think of me when you are eating those walnut whips. I really enjoyed them with oh last year

:-D

I had an enquiry about my tree this week. Between the two of us we can't get past James Brown 1816 born Messing Essex. I know Essex is mean with it's records and there is nothing on IGI about this person. He is just the wrong age to find him with his parents. He is too far away from me for me to buy his marriage cert but I may suggest it to the fellow who was enquiring. Also he has a grandchild with him on the 1881 census called Alice born 1877. Do you think we can find her parents.............no so probably a love begot child of his dau Sarah. The birth should be registered as it was after 1875 when they brought out a penelty if you did'nt register.

Hello everyone,

Jane good to hear the operation went well for Fiona. Thanks for keeping us up to speed.

My poor baby (Kiara) had to be rushed to the emergency vet tonight. She was totally listless and crying with pain. I could feel a lump under the skin on her upper side and she felt very hot. I thought she was going to die on the bed, no movement at all. She did have a temp. as I suspected and he gave her a shot of something, but she has to go back tomorrow for urine and blood tests and other investigations. This is the ragdoll cat and she is coming up to 13, but we all love her so much. The other cat was fussing around and crying too which is out of character for her.

Hope Chester had a better night and you too Jane.

Love to all, off to have dinner. 8.04 pm EST
