Mandy and Shirl ,I would send a little reminder to GR and let them know that everyone else seems to have their credits but not you :-S :-S.If you don't ask you don't get.(I think that is the right saying)

Blimey Shirl.Has the temp suddenly dropped?.Hope you are wearing your Mink Knickers as we used to say.I think we are about 15 deg here today.Tomorrow could even be a little warmer.

Chris had to work this morning ,and is now home wrapped up in his Norweigan THICK) cardi, sat in the summerhouse with a book and a massive box of tissues for his streaming nose.I think I might just lock him in there. :-D :-D

Fiona have they really got all the Xmas displays up? I don't like it when they do it so early.

I'm not sure if my neighbours (the ones with the Chickens ) have got a new dog. There is a rather large German Shepard in the garden.I hope they are looking after it for someone ,but I have a feeling it could be a new addition :-S.Not that I don't like German S.but you know how I feel about the way they look after their animals :-| :-|

He can bl**** stay in the summerhouse now Mandy. He came in to make himself some cheese on toast and I was busy at the cooker .(he had a little 2 year old tantrum).I said I could do it a minute for him ,and he stomped off.I made it , took it out and dumped it on the table.I bet he is going to be petulant now and just leave it on the plate lolol..............MEN when they are poorly!!!!
Shall I turn the key and leave him to stew???????

David I'm sure you are not an old Git.Especially on your Birthday.
Are you doing anything to celebrate?.Poor Ellen.Nothing worse than not having the kitchen sorted especially after so long.
I think I will have a peek out the window at my old Git and see if I can spot whether he has eaten his Cheese on Toast.

David

David Report 29 Oct 2011 15:28

You bet I'm not an old git flower.

The friend of a friend was no friend of mine.He was the son of a womanan Ellen used to work with.
He walked off the job weeks ago with a key to our house.Since then the door locks have been changed. No key or doors returned.

The brother of this young un changed the gutters.Half the length of the gutter at the back of our house is hanging on frsh air.NOT secured to the wall. This man and his brother were recrecruted by Ellen put forward by their Mother who used to be Ellen's night shift colleague.

The present joiner was recruited via a neighbour who was using his services.

He hasn't shifted the clutter and rubbish that used to be the previous kitchen. There's a new gas cooker installed not working. The previous cooker is in the living room on top of a brand new carpet etc etc

No,not pleased but stuck with it.

Hope you have had a nice day.

Shame they didn't get the kitchen finished before now. I would be fed up if I were Ellen too.

Brrrrr!! Shirl!! :-S :-S I hope you are keeping warm. Shame you and Mandy didn't get credits. Holding my breath to see if Mandy gets some now!

Jane, whenever I get up and go in the kitchen to sort food out, OH is right behind me! Then at the sink he's in front of me, same with the fridge and worktops! It's like doing a line dance at times!! lol Then...... flippin' cheek......I get told I'm in HIS way!! I bet Chris polished off his cheese on toast.

I do a boil wash every now and then too. OH is apt to use teatowels for 'other things' too Mel, even though I have now put him a special towel for drying 'other things'.

Darlington is about a 3 hour trip from here Jane so quite a long way. The pal he took today likes to keep up with the football latest on the radio too, so I would have had to listen to that for 3 hours on the way back too!! lol :-S

I took some tops back to Ma*alan this morning and then had a ride out to Swithland which is quite up market around here. It used to be known for it's slate for roofing and lots of the houses and front walls are built out of the slate. I noticed there are one or two new very big houses being built, one had slate turrets! It isn't that out of keeping though as a few of the buildings in the area have turrets. lol I took a few nice autumny pics at te edge of one of the old quarries which is next to the road. I'm amazed so many of the quarries don't have higher walls or fencing when they are next to the road.

I nice surprise arrived in the post today...... copies of the Conservative Club Magazine with my photo they asked to use..........blimey, and on the front page too with my name!!

It was Bob that got me watching the ISS.

Jimmy Savile has died aged 84! Apparently he had been in hospital last month with pneumonia. He was in the 'Belt Up' adverts wasn't he and did a lot of work for Stoke Mandeville Hospital. He waved back to me many years ago when he passed me doing one of his many charity runs.

LOL Ann he did polish of that Cheese on toast.I went out ,and picked his plate up and asked if he would like me to get him a Yoghurt or some fruit..His answer.......".I don't expect to be waited on ,it;s not a Hotel.I am quite capable"
So I walked away with a fixed grin and have hoovered the heck out of my bedroom carpet and ensuite lol.I'm chilled now :-D.I think he might have realised that he was quite 'rude' and is now a little more pleasant.I have to say though ,he doesn't look well. But that is no excuse for being ars*y.
James said I'm getting out of here lol He has gone off to have a game of footie with his pals.

Crikey David.Sounds like you have had a load of Cowboy workers.Did you have anything in writing for the work they are supposed to do?What are you doing for cooking if there is no working cooker and sockets hanging ?
I'm sure it is not an unlucky house even though Ellen might think it at the moment.
Ann can you take a pic of your pick in the magazine and let us have a squizz ?
What is ISS ?

Jane Report 29 Oct 2011 16:14

I am not typing that lot again :-D thats twice I typed it and it did'nt come out the first time.

It is really horrid here today it started with fine drizzle at lunch time just as we sat down. Had to rush out and rescue my washing which wa nearly dry this morning. So dark too and not even 5.30 yet. Look how it is going to be tomorrow :-|

Frank Report 29 Oct 2011 17:28

You are a mouning lot of old Bugge#s, leave use men alone.!!! We don't do any harm. If we feel a bit low with a cold we need some TLC not old biddy's getting on to us :-D :-D :-D I'm pleased to say I am over the cold "MAN FLU" apart from a chesty cough. I think it was to do with my Flu injection.

Great match at lunchtime Arsenal 5 Chelsea 3. Lewis won't be a happy bunnie.

I haven't had any credits either, is it only for you girls ???

Winter draws on SHIRL,

Chinese for us also Mandy, unless I can get her to have an Indian for a change.

Ros is busy knitting scarves with a yarn that looks like a net curtain. She is doing one every two hours. I am getting feed up with buying all the wool on Ebay. They are making about £7.00 profit from each one. and are selling like hot cakes. If anyone wants one, I am taking orders :-D :-D Help suppliment my pension.

One woman who buys her wool from a shop in town, works in london, and knits one a day, and seels them to her work friends, and makes £12.00 a day profit. Can't be bad.

Tunned cooler this afternoon, the heating has come on by it's self and it's set at 19 degrees. All nice and cosy for the evening.

Poor old JY I remember hearing him on the radio when I was in the RAF "what's the reciepe today JIM" on housewifes choice.. Don't suppose any of you remember that. 9.am every morning.
Is Chris still in the SUMMER HOUSE ?????

Jane

Jane Report 29 Oct 2011 17:40

Frank ,we are entitled to have a moan at you lot especially when you all behave badly lol.He has come out of the summerhouse (with my permission) as long as he behaves.I am the Headmistress now and BOSS.He has mellowed a little .I think he has had 2 glasses of red wine ;-).But he really looks (not well).
Frank you say JY .Are you talking Jimmy Young not `Jimmy Saville?'tis Jimmy Saville who has died.

Ann ,just going to check my emails lolol

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Oct 2011 18:07

I used to listen to Jimmie Young with recipes on the radio Frank when I was first married. He had a recipe for cup cakes with lemon curd in them and they were lovely :-D Trouble is I lost the recipe :-(

It is windy here too now and just not at all nice outside. I was supposed to do churhc flowers today but shall have to do them in the morning. There is no service this week so it should be alright. the only thnigs I have in the garden are some nice big hydrangers in pink so they will have to do with some berry branches off the cotoniaster outside the wall and some ivy flowers for a bit of greenery.

Poor chris, he really does sound bad Jane. I suppose with seeing all the people he sees during the week he is bound to pick up and cold now and then. Still lets hope it is just the first bad one of the season.

Ann, front page girl ;-)

Annx Report 29 Oct 2011 18:17

Forgot to say Jane.....ISS.....International Space Station. Bob's thread told you how to find out what time it passed overhead. I remember us standing outside in our dressing gowns. lol

Frank, what do you mean moaning......it's for your own good! lol ;-) Glad you are feeling better anyway. Those scarves sound like a nice little earner.....Ros certainly keeps busy with all the things she makes and must help earn quite a bit for the scouts. Perhaps she could get you started with some BIG PINS.

I hope we get a good downpour here soon. The noise has started for a party in the usual garden on the main road. I can hear it through the double glazing now and they are only warming up. It could go on till 4.00am......drunken shouting by then......the only people round here who think it is reasonable to keep the neighbourhood awake till that time. Their house is up for sale......wish they could get a buyer and GO.

Jane

Jane Report 29 Oct 2011 18:46

I remember that now Ann.I didn't realise it was BOB .I still stand out there on a clear night to look at the stars.Make myself dizzy sometimes by tipping my head back too far lol.(to try and see all the stars at the same time) :-S :-S :-S
Ann where is that pic.??? have seen your name lol

David Report 29 Oct 2011 18:50

Thanks all

Ellen's very depressed on the kitchen and gutter etc subjects.

She hired them. She feels if I chastise the joiner that he will walk off the job too but still want paying;over a barrel

A professional would have fitted her kitchen to a high standard in a week.
