David, I would get onto the water company, and ask them to deliver you a supply of bottled water. You can't go without fresh water. !!

Liz, you have been busy little bees haven't you. With all these visitors, and walkies. So pleased you are settled at last.

I just looked back up the page and found a few postings, they weren't there a minute ago. HOW STRANGE.

Ann, I didn't feel any different when I became MANDY :-D :-D :-D :-D

That wind was very warm this afternoon, good job too, with all the walking we had to do.

Jane that little Ethen, certainly looks a happy little soul, I trust you didn't scare him :-0 :-0 :-0. I have been on the computer again, since X factor came on. As Chris. said how can you watch that cr#p. Only another 1/2 hour.

Mel, Can you make Bread pudding.??? An old lady friend of Martine still makes it, and I get to have one every now and again. It's so yummy, I just eat it as it is. I also like it hot with custard. What are your spicey cakes called ???

I have decided we won't be going slow picking in the morning. My legs feel like ton weights, and getting cramp down my bad one. Will find something to keep Lewis occupied while the girls are out shopping. He is so easy to please, either he will be on the computer, or we can watch a DVD.

As we didn't get to see the football today, I will take him tomorrow night to see WEST HAM. they are on Sk# at 7.45pm any excuse I hear you say.
;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Where's our Maureen, She's not on holiday as well is she.????

I have been dreaming, looking through the paper at all the cruise offers. Oh wouldn't it be nice to just pop of to the SUN for a couple of weeks, without wondering where the money would come from. :-) :-) :-)

I don't think I have missed anyone, Oh yes I have. KIM are the devil are you my love, looking forward to your summer, I think I will come over and visit you, save a fortune on heating bills for the winter months.!!!

Morning All, from a VERY VERY CHOKEY SMOKEY Rd.I have had to wrap a scarf around my nose and mouth just now.Everything is sealed up here including the fireplace again.I am getting really cheesed off with this now .I went into the garage where my clean laundry is and it is stinking of the smoke which seeps in around the door,so I will have to wash it all again :-S :-S :-S :-S

I have rung the council and they said they would send someone out to take the poor dead tabby away.....Cheerful this morning aren't I :-D :-D :-D :-D

David I hope your water is back on now.We don't realise how much we use ,until we don't have any.

Ann,how is your back today? I do hope it is a bit less painful.
Frank enjoy your day with young Lewis. What's the weather like over your way?
Hello everyone else hope it is a Happy Monday for you all.I have lots to get on with this morning starting with the washing :-| :-| :-|

Frank Report 24 Oct 2011 11:21

Morning all, If you can see this. When I turned on it said"SERVICE UNAVAILABLE" I kept trying and I got on.

Poor old Jane, bad enough to do the washing and drying, without having to do it all again. How long do they think this is going on for ????

Weather here is quite calm, and high clouds. I think the sun will get through later.

Lewis had his bacon sarnie, then two shreaded wheat with hot milk and sugar. and a milky coffee. He calls me "GEEVES" now, and just clickes his fingers. when he wants anything. Little Bugg##

Lewis's Mum has just arrived, so the girls are off shopping, leaving us to get on with our day. Sure we will be fine.

Morning All
Frank I had problems getting on line myself this morning,
but I'm here now :-D

OH left this morning at 10 to get to Edinburgh for his flight to Germany, Not sure where abouts in Germany he is ?

I received a lettter from the hospital to say I have to go to the Pre op clinic this friday, but this was unexpected news to me , so I phoned up and told them my hubby was away this week and I was unable to get there, could they change my appointment to next Monday , I was seeing the Dr at the hospital that day anyway,
the recepionest said they will ring back today and let me know, When I told OH he managed to book an extra flight so incase the hospital can't change the date he will be home intime, but we are hoping they can change to Monday so OH can stay in Germany and go to his planned Meeting and then come home on his origanal flight, whatever happens OH will be here Thankgoodness :-D

Thanks for the pics of Ethan and his mum Jane, He looks lovely and coasy for this cold weather.

Going for a shower,

Think I may have got in at last!!!

Had so much trouble this morning in more ways than one.

I had to login to get to the message box and it has come up on page 1 and the last message is 27th May 2010 from Annx at 20.30???????????????

I tried so many ways to get in this morning I gave up in the end. Also had a query about my tree and thats not working either. I have no people on it according to when I get it up just my name Mel Fairygodmother Saltiel. There should be nearly three thousand people on it!! When I go into Full Tree I have names in boxes but the line between dos'nt go anywhere! then I have to go back to Immediate Family and then soemtimes it works or I just get an error page come up.

Blood test did'nt go well. Nurse said I was dehydrated. I had'nt had a glass of water before I went or when I got up!! Tried the left arm first, got the needle in but nothing was coming out!!!!! Tried the right arm same blimmin thing!! She said you will have to come back next week and try again, sorry. I looked down at my hand and the veins were sticking right out!!!!!! Can you take it from there I said? Yes we can have a go but it may hurt a bit. It did'nt and she used a butterfly which is a smaller needle with a pipe on it like when you have an injection when you go to sleep. Anyway that worked and she said we should use that kind of one from now on and I have a lovely blue bump on the back of my left hand.

Oh it worked and I also have the Add Reply box at the bottom of the page at the moment.

It is raining here today and they forecast flood warnings for a lot of the west country.

All the big chickens won't come out of their house today. they look really miserable. The bantams are under the box hedge.

Hi Mel
Thats what often happens to me Mel when I have blood tests, the blood does not want to leave me, I asked the nurse if there was anything I could do and she said no it's just pot luck on the day, unfortunatlysometimes when I have blood taken it can be at a fasting time and I have been unable to eat or drink for many hours before my appointment .

Hospital have rung and YES they changed my pre- op appointment to the same day as I am seeing the consultant anyway. good ,means it will save an extra trip to the hospital and I will only have to go twice now

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Oct 2011 14:53

Oh good news Fiona. I do hope everything goes ok for you.

Mine was a fasting blood test today too.

Frank I have emailed the cert to you. Only just got it done as scanner having a fit and giving me all these things to do. OH sorted it for me.

Just popped in for a quick hello, had a lovely restful weekend, the most strenuous thing I did was empty the dishwasher, who knows what's in store for me this week. Shall have to await instructions from the boss.

I'm off to sort out car insurance now, runs out the end of this week, it's such a drag trying to get the best deal. At least it's only once a year

Wrote a whole screed earlier on, when whoosh, the whole lot disappeared!! then I couldn't get onto Genes at all!! so gave up and went to Swindon instead! Have just got back having been to look a caravans!! We are looking to buy a cheap(?!) one to live in while our Chalet Bungalow is being put up, which should be sometime in January! not the month we would have chosen; It was supposed to be in August, but with all the problems and delays of the house sale, we are where we are. To put it off till the Spring will increase the cost of the build, which owing to our charming neighbour we are now not able to afford, so will have to manage as best we can. At least it's only the two of us, and we already have a buyer for our rather ancient Parks Home!! We shall be caravanning for about 3 months, then that too will be sold!! well! thats the plan!! Very windy here, but dry. Tomorrow's forcast is for a wet day! :-|

Afternoon from a fed up me :-\ :-\.Just haven't been able to get out around here all day.I did nip to Tes** and the air was lovely there :-D
Today had been just the worst day so far for the smoke.I think it is going to go on for a while yet.I just hope that we get some of this rain and it will help with the smoke.James has just taken Chester out in the car so he can have a walk away from here.
The Puss has gone now Mandy.I assume the council peeps came, and hope it hasn't just been dumped in the ditch .

Fiona ,that is good you don't have 3 appointments now.Two is plenty enough :-D :-D.Not too long now.

Mel sounds like you have had a right do today.

Liz,I hope the winter isn't like last year if you are going to have to be in a caravan for some time :-S

Chester is booked in to have his lumps done on the 1st Nov

Frank Report 24 Oct 2011 17:29

Afternoon all,

Good news then Fiona, OH won't have to break his appointments to get home. Good luck for Monday.

Thanks Mel, I could read the certificate allright, so original will be fine. All this with Genes is getting a bit much, i've had a job getting on here this afternoon.

Has been a nice day here also, the forcast is rain comming from the west, so look out Mandy you will get it !!!

Poor old Jane, I think by now I would be loosing it with the local fire brigade. Why can't they cover it with FOAM, and starve it of air ???
Our old cat has started to get lumps on his back, ones about the size of a golf ball. It would be a waste of time trying to get him in a basket to take him to the vets, He's never been in one since we had him, even though we have tried. I think the shock of a operation would kill him.The only time I would take him, is if he's on his last legs. !!

Going to put the veg on for dinner, a little boy is saying "I'M HUNGRY"

Frank I think the fire Brigade are doing the best they can .It is just such a difficult job,and a huge one.I just took a step outside the back door and the stench is just so bad.It looks like we have a thick sea mist around us right now.
I 'm sorry if I seem to be going on and on about it .Just tell me to stop and I will zip it.It's just soooo frustrating and stinky lol

Jane, that smoke is bad !! it looks like fog , i didn't realise that it was so low and all around you like that !! , i thought you meant it was more over head !!
Terrible for any one with breathing problems , and you say Fitz is nearer the smoke ? what must it be like for him and mum.!!

It must make your clothes smell when you go out , have you had any funny looks when you go shopping ?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 24 Oct 2011 19:00

Liz, get over to Dale Farm , bound to be caravans going cheap LOL :-D

So you'll be in the van for the winter , you just have to cuddle up together to keep warm :-D :-D :-D
I bet the vans are nice and warm and cosy ,and three months is not to long to have to wait , will be worth it to have a nice new home !!

LilyL

LilyL Report 24 Oct 2011 19:01

Don't worry about 'going on' Jane, it must be just awful having all that smoke hanging around, and for so long now! I really feel sorry for you, lets hope that it gets sorted out soon. As you say, let's hope that this winter is kinder than the last one!! mind you the caravan we are looking at is well insulated and fitted out for living in! What a night!! the wind is HOWLING, and the rain has finally arrived with a vengence!!! Do hope everyone is OK.
