Afternoon everyone,

Been a lovely sunny day ,but really cold ,we went to the car boot today and i bought four more little cottages for £6 !! that really was a bargain , i would have paid £6 just for one of them .

Frank, that poor lad !! wasn't he lucky that he had no broken bones ,some one was certainly watching down over him that day .
AHHHHH......... Who's given you the cold then Frank ? what you need is a nice hot toddy !!

I've got a bloo*y fly here it keeps buzzing round and do you think i can get it !!!! i've had the spray out ,and that's useless ,i've tried a rolled up paper to try and swot it !! Poor old Toby runs a mile when he see's the rolled up paper , i don't know why because i've never hit him !! he just doesn't like it at all!! and even the word fly gets him in a tizzy !!

Really black here now over Wills mothers :-S

Sausages tonight with mash and beans ,nice and easy .

Frank Report 19 Oct 2011 16:14

Still in dressing gown and sneezing and coughing. Been sucking on throat sweets all afternoon, not really helping with the throat.

Mandy, that bought back memories, rolled up newspaper "FLY SWOTTING" did it all the time as a kid. A boy down the road always had fly's, so we would see how many we could get :-\ :-\ :-\

I prepared a roast chicken this morning, with roast pots, parsnips, cabbage carrots and runner beans.

Just put the heating on, We have had rain, and it's turned very cold. There is talk of a frost tonight.

Jane Report 19 Oct 2011 16:31

I have turned my heating right down Frank.I wonder how long it will be before one of the men notice. It's only because I got too hot doing the dreaded housework :-S.I will not be doing anymore today.

Mandy ,I often have a rogue fly.Chester will eat them if he catches them :-S :-S :-S

Fiona are you saying you have SUNSHINE lol.I thought it looked like you were in for rain today.

Didn't make the tip this pm, rained heavily and we seemed to get bogged down making room for Merlin's winter hay which is arriving on Friday!! Rang our Sol as we are still waiting for our purchase paperwork and don't want a 'Jobsworth' at the door demanding why we haven't sorted out the Council Tax etc!! It will be coming just as soon as Land Registry send back the deeds! There is a small piece of 'land' between us and our field that our seller has looked after for the past 25 years, but no-one actually knows who owns it!!!; our seller has written an affidavit to the effect that they cared for it all these years and it seems that we shall be able to make a legal claim!! that would be quite good as it would suit Merlin well as a 'winter turnout'. We shall see! Had a chat about NFH at the same time, and decided that it would be more trouble than it's worth to pursue it, so effectively they've got away with it, but there you go, at least we're where we want to be and, thank God, away from THEM! We did decide though that they really must be VERY dreadful people to lie and harass us for all those months the way they did and that their hatred of us bordered on paranoia! Still, time to move on!

Send Chester round then Jane , because this fly is doing my head in :-S

It was in the bedroom last night buzzing round ,i swear its following me round the house !!

Raining here now .

Hubby's just walked in with a hoover !! seems were he's been working the woman didn't want it as she said its to big for the cottage , she's only had it a few months !!
Another bargain !! and free too :-D

Jane

Jane Report 19 Oct 2011 17:47

Liz ,that would be great if you could use that bit of land for Merlin wouldn't it.I think now you have decided not to persue trying to get that money back you can now put that awful business behind you and not have even more worry.
Yes they have got away with it but it could carry on for many more months or longer, and I think you have had enough anguish.

Mandy, you have been a lucky girl today :-D :-D.As for your fly,it is deliberately annoying you,and probably having great fun too lol.

Chris is not required AGAIN tomorrow at court !.I just hope he doesn't get something now on Friday which might carry on into next week.
He is popping into work tomorrow morning I think just to do some paperwork.
I said to him that he has actually had a bit of a holiday these past couple of weeks.Which will have been good for him. :-D

I bought a little woolly hat, some woolly mitts and some little baby shoe things (that look like a reindeer) for Ethan as he doesn't have anything like that in Dubai.I think Rachel is worried about how cold it will be for him here. But he will be fine.
I was put out in all weathers in my pram (to get my daily fresh air ) .My Mum just followed instructions in a little book as to how to look after me :-S :-S.I think I turned out alright ;-) ;-)

Oh dear! I'm just watching the 'eviction' process of Dale Farm.I 'm not sure how I feel about all this.I know some are there illegally, but it must be dreadful and scary for all concerned ,especially Children and the elderly.

OH gone off ringing so no cooking for me tonight. He is having his usual cheese and onion quiche, toms and colslaw.

Mandy lucky girl getting a hoover buck shee!

Poor Frank I think I may have been the one to give you that cough and runny nosy as I have been a bit like that for a week now. Keep sneezing for no apparant reason.

We have'nt had the heating on yet but I have just turned the oil filled radiator on under my desk and my legs are warming up nicely now. Just in time to go and shut the chickens in and get cold again.

We have had sunshine and showers today and a very cold wind.

Mandy were the cottages ones that you had'nt got?

I was put out in the garden in my pram , mum said she always put the pram under the big willow tree so i watched the wind blow the branches about .
Then when older that was were dad made my swing , a big rope hung over the branch of the willow tree with a wooden seat !!

Well today we found out what Chelsea meant when she said she had had Army Bread at nursery .....it was Naany Bread ....Naan Bread !!

No Mel, i didn't have any of the cottages i got today .
I've still got the round numbers at the top of the page.

I'm still dying, :-D :-D :-D Been in my dressing gown all day, just changed from winter one into silk one, getting too hot.

Just had my tablets and a Lemsi#, still trying to get rid of my headache, I can't take paracetamo# or Anadi#.

My daughter was born in Jan. and was put out everyday in her pram. all wrapped up, in her shawl and blankets. Fresh air they say did them good.

I see a girl has been trampled to death trying to get out of a night club at 2.30am. when the fire alarm went off. As a student, I must ask, what were they doing out at that time of night on a Tuesday/Wednesday When they have studying to do.???? How can the be alert, at 9.00am for lessons.

Annx Report 19 Oct 2011 20:33

Evening All,

We were put outside in our prams too, well wrapped up if it was cold and with the pram canopy on if it was sunny. I remember my sister and brother would be fast asleep or looking up at the clouds. I think that's when mum would get the hoovering done.

Mandy, what a bargain! I absolutely love the 'Chippy' with the couple on the seat outside! lol Getting a free hoover too.......must be your lucky day! Poor Toby, he must wonder why you suddenly turn into a mad woman swiping away with the rolled up newspaper. I hate it when flies won't leave you alone.........even more when you go in another room to settle down and do something and suddenly it's there with you again buzzing around your ears!! :-S :-S

Jane, those little Reindeer for Ethan's feet sound so cute.....he will be trying to pull them off. I bet he will have grown quite a bit since you last saw him. How long is Chris on jury service for? It has been a break for him as you say.

Frank, I have my MASK on!! lol Hope you soon feel better.......early night for you I think and no trying to do too much. I like Ribe*a to sip at night when I have a tickly throat, seems to help.

That chap was so lucky he wasn't killed. I hope hope they ban the driver, there are too many driving under the influence of drink or drugs these days.

We quite enjoyed the film this morning, but we had a noisy couple next to us and OH was giving them the 'evil eye'!! Luckily they shut up shortly after the film started.

Annx Report 19 Oct 2011 21:18

Square numbers here too,but yesterday I had a funny line down the screen on the right, like a crease would look.....it's gone now though.

I agree Frank and how do they afford it as well...... obviously not bothered about their student loans! The last few years I worked we started to have problems with youngsters who were clubbing in the week till the early hours and then throwing sickies and not coming in to work the next day. Angry workmates who were getting their work to do as well as their own soon let the boss know what was happening! lol

The eviction is awful Jane, but I think allowing 'retrospective planning permission' hasn't helped things with travellers and made it harder to say no to them. One thing seems clear after watching what is happening and that is that they should not allow such huge sites in future. I remember in the old days, before human rights etc, after a visit from a Govt Inspector they would vanish the next day! lol :-D

Anne Report 19 Oct 2011 21:41

It has been a lovely day here today with lots of sunshine but very cold. It must be warmer now as heating has gone off.Went to visit some friends this afternoon who live in a nearby village. They were very concerned that their winter heating allowance has been cut this year ( they are in their 80's ) and were talking of erecting extra curtaining in the sitting room. They live in a lovely old cottage but it can be draughty. They were so worried as the long rage weather forcast is not good and they can get cut off for days at a time when it snows. I do not think they have gas in the village and heating is done with oil. I left feeling very concerned as I have never known them worry before and it has made me wonder just how many other people are afraid of the coming weather and the cost of their heating bills,
Frank I hope your cold soon goes. Just think you may not get another now for the whole of the winter, good to get it over with.
Yes I was put out in my pram as a child and my son also spent many hours out in his pram in the garden with the dog on guard. The house we lived in at the time did not have any heating other than coal fires and I can remember condensation running down the walls in the hall during the winter. I remember being quite cross when we moved as the next occupants had central heating and double glazing installed by the Police ( it was the village Police house) but even so it was a lovely place to live.
Hubby has been watching the football which has now just finished so will go and see whats happening :-) :-)

Jane Report 19 Oct 2011 22:20

Goodness Anne. How has heating allowance been reduced when the price of heating is going up and up?????Things are just getting worse for the elderly.
Before I get on my high horse about all sorts,I better say Night Night lol.If I don't go now I will be on a roll and my head will be spinning with all the things that have got my goat tonight (eg the child beggars).I think i will go and lose myself in a book.
See you all in the morning xx
