Well, we had the chicken casserole I made yesterday.......OH ate the lot and every drop of the gravy! Tomorrow we are eating out at lunch as OH is picking up a car full to go to a match at Leek later. I might use up some of the softer tomatoes to do a sauce with basil to have with pasta on Wednesday.

That's good to know Chester's lumps are not harmful. I like greyhounds and whippets.......seem such very quiet gentle souls. Is Chris beginning to find it more interesting now Jane, or is it all a bit tedious? I suppose the kind of case makes all the difference.

Sheila, how nasty for Jasper to have a problem with his 'downstairs furniture'!! It is a good job he has the collar on to stop him aggravating it. How does April feel about going to America? My parents moved a few times when I was a child and I hated going to new schools. Unlike April I was very shy though!!

Mum and dad only seemed to have dair*lea triangles as far as I can remember. I don't mind parmesan now but still won't sniff it!! I like quite a few cheeses now but not the smelly cheeses and those with veins in that OH loves. lol.

Jane

Jane Report 17 Oct 2011 19:03

Pat .I'm sure you have said where you are going on hols ,but I can't remember :-S
Mandy ,the lump on Chester's side has been there for a couple of years and hasn't caused any bother ,but the Vet says he will remove it anyway as it will get bigger. It is the size of a middle size Gobstopper lol(that's the only thing I can think of).Vet doesn't seem worried about anything being Malignant (Phew).
I think I had better get the pan of water on for the Pasta now as I have 2 hungry men asking when dinner is.

Annx

Annx Report 17 Oct 2011 19:06

I'd forgotten about those mixed triangles Mandy.......the tomato one was quite orangey coloured wasn't it! I can't remember any other flavours either.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 17 Oct 2011 19:22

Jane , that lump that Toby had near his back passage was small, but when it started to bleed it took ages to stop and the vet said it would get worse , so that's why it was taken off.
And touch wood he's been fine since .

Ann, i think i remember there was an Onion one and wasn't there a Pickle one too.
I think the tomato one was the one that was always left !! and your right it was Orangey !!

Jane

Jane Report 17 Oct 2011 20:11

Now you have got the memory going again!!.Yes those different flavoured triangles.YUK! I just liked the normal one.
Just spoke to my sister .She has been told she will need a knee replacement :-S.She is only 52.That is young!.I think for now it is tablets and physio.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Oct 2011 20:17

Did'nt like cheese when I was young. Only really started eating it when I got together with oh. I like cambanzola, brie and camenbere? Do have a bit of cheddar now and then but if oh has toasted cheese sarnies I usually have toast as I did at lunch time. Guess what Ihad on one slice......Dairyl** and two more slices with strawberry jam.

Sheila Report 17 Oct 2011 20:21

hI Jane and Amanda sorry Toby and Chester have a problem with lumps do hope it will be ok for them. Jane was that little dog ill long with that complaint Jasper was shaking tonight had to sit him by the fire.
I wont go again .

Annx you made me laugh Jasper with a problem with his downstairs funiture wish I had been so diplomatic. I was trying to be .

Mel thank you for your Nice words. Tracy Shirl are you ok. I know I am a pain with all my adventures and woes. Woe is me. Wish I could change my name to Petunia or Poppy or something Or maybe Elvira Cassandra and Petunia . my brother asked Beryls sisters there name and when they told him he said was your mum drunk when she gave them names. Cassandra said I was nearly called Yackolph after her foreign friend .But she got run over and my mum said it would bring back bad memories
when she called it me . I think she was lucky.

April is looking forward to being in America but is funny I asked her what she would miss about England and she said walking to school.
They will go in a couple of months all being well.

I love cheese with pickle onion in but could murder some blue cheese
gorgonzola is nice like my spelling Frank. My dad called blue cheese smelly socks and once Les had a cheese that was so stinky a Camenbert type cheese that we thought something was rotting in our kitchen and spent a week looking for it before it dawned it was the cheese

Beryl phoned teatime she made me shed a tear she said I put a plate out for Donnie hoping he would come back will leave it on the table. I am going to look areas up now Mohsens got to know every area mentioned on his paper for taxi work.

Wasnt the abbey thingy sad Down something my minds gone. Those two poor war victims. i had a e mail off someone who claimed to have served with my uncle Albert who died at Flanders in the Kings Royal rifel brigade
but it turned out to be a false alarm. Wrong year not 1915

What happened to William was his wife ok. NITE NITE

Mel, hubby thinks they were Red Cow , i know you can get the Laughing cow cheese now ,but i carn't remember Red Cow !!

That's young for a knee replacement , is it arthritis that she has ?
Hubby was only 50 when he had his first hip replaced .

Frank

Frank Report 17 Oct 2011 20:41

Mandy, I've never heard of RED COW. I know you got the Kraf# cream triangles. My kids loved them.

Have I missed something about knees ??? That is young for a hip replacement Mandy. A friend in the villiags had both knees replaced but he is in his 70s. Now walks unaded and runs his allotment.

I have just got the circle around the page Nos. Is that why it's been playing up.???

Ros, went out for a while this afternoon, with her friend Caroline, bought a few xmas presents, including a Chess Set for Lewis. Hope you know it's only NINE WEEKS till Christmas. Just to cheer you all up. :-D :-D :-D :-D

MillymollyAmanda Report 17 Oct 2011 20:56

Frank, he was 57 when he had the other hip done , NHS for the first one , private for the second ,the second hip went better than the first , less pain.

The wind is so strong this evening ,poor old Toby keeps putting is head up as he hears the gusts !!

Jane

Jane Report 17 Oct 2011 21:11

How dare you mention Christmas Frank :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S.We have barely finished summer ;-) ;-).I see they are selling the big tins of Choc's half price now.You know the ones. They do it every year. I do think it is a good bargain .But if I were to buy a tin now ,they wouldn't last until Christmas ,because someone would find them.(not me),before you say anything Frank
:-P :-P

Mandy ,I am assuming it is arthritis that Janice has.I know she has been complaining about this knee for yonks. She did read me out the results of her Xrays over the phone. But some of it I didn't quite get.I have been out of nursing for so long now.I think hers is all wear and tear.
My right knee cracks everytime I move lol.It is very loud!!

I wonder if Red Cow is the same as Laughing Cow.You know how they change the names of things (like Marathon ....to Snickers)......Ulay ....to Olay...etc.

Jane

Jane Report 17 Oct 2011 21:17

Sheila I think it took a week or so for the skin to calm down and the hair grow back again on my friends dog.It is horrible to see a pet distressed .I hope you can have a good nights sleep and that Jasper settles.

Amanda,my younger brother had a replacement hip on the NHS after a long wait.He was in hospital 2 months istead of one week.He got MRSA and an infection from a cathetar.

Not long after his discharge he was diagnosed with bowel cancer.
He has had 3 operations and is still unwell.

Hello everyone,

Back in the land of the living. Tests all ok, everything went well. Still no explanation for these episodes of pain, but all areas checked have been clear so far. The blood work is a worry still, something I expect that will have to be checked on a regular basis. Staff at the hospital were wonderful and the food afterwards was very welcome (I was starving) and fresh.

Sorry to read some of the little ones have croup. I remember sitting in the steamed bathroom with the hot shower going with my two. Miranda got it worse than Joel - she used to wriggle around and wouldn't sit still to get the benefit of the steam. It was a horrible cough. Hope they are better very soon. I got whooping cough when I was 40 at the school, reading with the children. The boy was fully vaccinated, but he was sent to school so ill. He also gave it to his mother, who had a small baby at the time. I think that really sent me into a nose dive healthwise.

Fiona good you found some clothes that fit. I am Size 8 at the moment and have a wardrobe full of nice clothes I can't wear used to be 10/12. I am taller than you, but I still have a skinny, boney look about me, makes me feel self-conscious. People say "don't you eat or what?" They can be so rude. Looking forward to getting some new tops for the warmer weather, I can't see myself ever putting that weight back on.

Mel I used to love the Noddy books as a child, then I used to watch the videos with my son when he was little.

Liz sounds as if you have settled in nicely. Good that you are not stressed any more and enjoying the new location.

Frank thanks for the photos - your neighbour was busy with that tree. No don't get up any ladders!!! Sorry to hear that Ros is off colour and off her food. Hope she comes good again soon. Can't cope with the mention of Christmas yet, can't believe it is nearly with us again

And the canines are not well either. Jane good luck with Chester's surgery, it sounds like they are benign, but they do bleed terribly when knocked. Zoe had a few on her during her life and we had some taken off. Poor little Jasper too. Hope you can get the cream on his unmentionables Sheila so he is more comfortable (and not get bitten at the same time). Your neighbour was so rude about that parcel , silly old moo - I would be telling her where to go in future.

Hello to Pat, Ann, Anne - where is Maureen? and anyone else I have forgotten. Thanks for your well wishes, they mean a lot to me.

Off to watch the news, what have the pollies been up to today

:-0 6.00 pm EST have a good day all.

Blue vein cheese - I love it, but not when I was little. Used to call it "stinking feet" cheese then :-D

Morning Kim and all,

Well it was a bit wild last night with rain lashing with the wind. Today there is blue sky with white and grey clouds.

Kim good that your tests went quite well and yes we all think of you and wish you well.

Silly old me saying Red Cow but I do think that may have been what the cheeses were called a while ago. Laughing Cow was the ones I meant. If I remember rightly they were about half the size of the Dairyl** triangles but a bit deeper.

I don't suppose any of you remember the Effal Tower Lemonade Crystals that came in a long glass bottle. This bottle was also in a box. It made a pint or so of lemonade which you then diluted for a drink. It was sort of see through and not cloudy like bottled lemonade.

Hoping all the dogs are comfortable this morning. If it not one of us being ill it's our faithfull friends.

I had a bird on my bird table the other day that I bet none of you have had on yours. If the pic comes out I will let you have it along with the other little visitor to my old bird table. Cheeky chap.......
