Afternoon All,

The fire has got a good grip by the look of your pics Jane. I see the police are saying it is a haystack and nothing to suggest arson at the moment. Sometimes hay will set on fire on its own.....expensive though as I think hay can cost about £6 even for a small bale now. There were shortages last winter too. Amelia looks a real sweetie. I love her shoes and pushchair too......looks as if she could steer the pushchair. It sounds as if Janice is well happy with her new house and planning a new garden already.

I went to bed early but had to keep visiting the 'white friend' all night with the trots. Tummy still quite crampy this morning so I just had leek, potato and cheese soup for lunch!! Hope I am back in full working order by Tuesday for the train trip. lol

I like your new pic Kim, how old are you on this one? Hope you soon get some improvement on the pain front, it sounds quite bad for you at the moment. Hope the test results come through quickly and your visit to the consultant. I'm not surprised you were glad when Joel got home with the bush fires and torrential rain you are having.

You were lucky to come through it all David. As you say, it isn't always just the physical injuries and it must have been hard for both of you at times as you got better.

Mel, did you ache this morning? It was lucky you got to the church on time. I bet those instruments sounded lovely being played in the church.

That sounds sensible Fiona. It won't be helping things and you won't be able to enjoy going to church if it makes you feel worse at the moment.

Frank, you are a busy bee tree trimming and mowing and Ros too planting up for Spring. I am always way behind you!! Happy Birthday to Lewis......growing up fast isn't he.

Evening all, The dreaded X Factor is on again till 9 pm. then Downton, so will sit and watch that.

I know where you are now Jane in relation to the fire. Nothing mentioned on Anglia news at 6pm

Mandy, Ros bought one of those cleaning things a few months ago. B####y useless The spike bit gets stuck between the slabs, and the wire scrubber doesn't seem to clean the slabs. I find a weed spray gets the weeds, and a good hose down with a stiff broom keeps the patio clean. If it gets to marked I usae the pressure washer. But that sprays all over the conservatory and windows. I will get a photo of pansies when they settle in a bit. I got 150 viola plug plants for about £4.00 on Ebay. All transplanted into small pots. Ros said they will be too small this year, and we should keep them for next.

Annx, Hope you are feeling a little better today, and your "WHITE FRIEND" dosen't need company tonight. :-D :-D.

Don't think I mentioned on Friday evening after dark, I took some tomato's to the surgery nurse down the road, their cars weren't on the drive, so I hung them on the door handle. When she bought the perscriptions I asked if she got the toms, and she said "NO" I had put them on her next door neighbours door. She was going to ask for them back :-D :-D :-D :-D But not say where they came from.

Went up to my old fishing lake last night. They have three wallnut trees. Still quite young, but I normally manage to get enough for Ros (SHE LOVES WET WALLNUTS) I only managed to get 8 I think others had got there before me. Will have to try the market in Northampton. Not many green grocers around now, who use to keep them.

Going to dash off, I have three lots of tulip bulbs finishing soon on Ebay.

SEE YA

Well it looks as if its going to be a really warm week ,you can get your shorts out again Frank ;-)

Oh Harvest Festival ,remember when at school we had to take in some sort of veg or flowers and put on the table for Harvest Festival !!
I seem to remember taking in Michaelmas Daisy's and some thing from dads veg garden.

Off to get a shower in and get settled ready for Downton.

Night Night xx

Shirl I will wait until I see the news or paper tomorrow to let you know exactly what the fire was .It seems like massive bales of straw plus some load of recycling materials. At the moment there are lots of stories as to what it was .But it was pretty big.
No way I will be awake for Downton Abbey tonight :-S :-S.I have had one too many lol. It's been quite a day.
See you when I wake tomorrow :-D :-D

Another 70 tulip bulbs bought tonight. Total 180. Must stop now. Thinking of getting some large planters to put each side of the front door to display them.

Night night sleep tight

What are you like JANE brams and list at this time in the evening

Annx Report 25 Sep 2011 21:13

I'll certainly consider that for Tuesday David. No fun on a train in this state. Things are looking up as they say, only 2 'visits' today!! I have been disinfecting everywhere and using hand gel........don't want OH getting it for Tuesday if it is a bug either!!

Frank, we don't watch the X Factor either! Will join you for Downton Abbey. lol We record it and start watching it halfway through. That way we can whizz through the adverts so I don't 'lose the plot'. :-D :-D That is fantastic value on the Violas. I bet they grow on fast if we get this heatwave they are talking about. You should have a good display of tulips with all those bulbs.

Off to get a cuppa and get settled in front of the tv.

Morning All.
Raining here at the moment..Glad I done my washing before bed and hung it on airer...at least it would have ahead start if it clears up.

I have been moaning to my hubby to clear the shed out at least tidy it..I was having a job to get lawn mower out,,He thew away enough just to straighten it.At least I can get in there now...He will do the rest another time....Which will mean a trip to the tip...I thought I was bad enough keeping things just in case but I have been ruthless since the kitchen and bathroom had to be done...

Yesterday made arrangments to go to Paris to see my eldest son..He said come November or dec Had acouple of options...You have to work around the time of the trains as well as the prices..We have about 45 min journey to get to London to add on etc.. Before booking we double checked with him and he has to go to Brussels one week and the other week Japan..

He had just moved to Paris in August and already is travelling with his job there.. Half term we cant go as we are off to Majorca for a week.

Finally settled on a date and some of the seats are full lol for the times we wanted.. Now going the 12 Nov...
Alan has 2 days hols left to book and we wanted to use them..I will have to take time of off work..

Morning all,
Hows that head this morning Jane ????

Surprised to see we had rain in the night. Very warm and humid outside at present. I think the sun with be through later.

I only have two big branches to take out og the centre bush. It will still keep the "EYES" from seeing into the lounge, but will open it up for the sunshine. Then I will start on the "BIG" Tree. I have taken some lower branches off, now I will need steps to get a bit higher :-D :-D :-D :-D I promise I will hold on and be careful.

Pat, I also have to sort out my garage, When I was selling a lot of stuff on Ebay Ros started collecting small/medium boxs for packing, she went OTT I have more box's than TESC# :-) :-) :-)

Going to get another cup of tea. see you later.

David....My husband had a bad motot bike accident just before I met him
Had to have a pin and plate in his leg for about 2 years..He was thrown across the road..He was lucky he wasent hit but was told he was thrown so high he would of gone over the top of anything..

Frank all those tablets at once..At least you dont have the bother of collecting them

You still worry about them now..

Frank ,my head is fine thankyou very much lol.I think just an extra glass made me so tired.I did have a good sleep though :-D :-D
Pat Tewkesbury was badly flooded and my Niece ,her OH ,Baby Finn and Dog had to be rescued from their upper floor .They lost absolutely everything ,including the work van with all tools.I think it was just over a year before they got back in.

There is still some smoke billowing from yesterdays fire.We have had a bit of rain so I'm sure that was welcome !

I bet you can't wait to go to Paris now Pat.

I have lots to get done this morning after my lazy day yesterday so i better press on.

Afternoon All,

Lovely and sunny here now......Frank did I see the 'ladder' word!!!!! :-0 :-0 do take care won't you!!

Still had to 'trot' today but improving a lot. I got some I*modium just in case for tomorrow, but it says you shouldn't take them if there is any blood and there was today. Can make things worse if it is a bacterial infection. :-S :-S (Sorry, too much information!) I really don't know what to do about tomorrow's trip now......just wait and see how the rest of today is I expect. Fancy getting something like this when you are going on a train trip!!!

Looks like it was an early beach trip on your pic Pat, sunhat and bucket and spade......you weren't very old then were you. Shame about your ghost carp. Maybe this one was already sick, but just hung on a bit longer.

Mel, I can't be doing with Thomas either. I just love Maggie Smith and her character's cutting comments!!!! lol We thought there was a lot of gloom this week.

Must get the washing on now.........BBL

Just got back from the tip with the last of the tree. Have saved all the walnuts, there must be about 40/50, some of the outer casings were opening up so I got quite a few walnuts out, didn't realise how much they stain, the tips of my fingers look like I've been chain smoking for 60 odd years. Don't know if they will ever ripen enough to eat, tried one, it was okay but a bit hard. With the promise of lots of sunshine for the next few days I will leave them out on the table to see if they ripen.

Only managed to read some of the posts, hope you are feeling better Ann. Thanks for the photos, thought your drawing was very good, did you use charcoal or pencil.

What caused that fire Jane, there was a lot of black smoke billowing out.

Love the new photo Kim.

Pat, you certainly get about a bit, Paris, Mallorca and somewhere else you went this summer too. It does feel good to go down a dress size or two. I was really chuffed on Saturday, went to the boot sale and was looking at some clothes on a rail, the woman said no they're no good for you they are all size 14 and over.

So you are cutting down trees as well are you Frank, please, be careful up that ladder, we all know your track record. My garden does look a bit bare now but the walnut was just too big for this garden, will probably put some tall shrubs in, Buddleja (sp) are easy to take cuttings might do that. My son was in a creative mood and made a seat from the trunk of the tree, it looks silly, but we didn't like to tell him, will send you a photo.
