Kim, the cooking apples we have keep quite well, i remember mum and dad use to wrap all their apples in newspaper and box them up to keep them through the winter .
The days are still warm here at the moment ,but once the sun goes down it turns chilly ,but we haven't had the heating on yet !!

Don't think Sheila has gone to America yet , i think she said she was going to see an elderly aunt or it might have been a cousin !!
Everyone looked happy at the party Kim glad they all enjoyed it .

They are just talking about Spiders on the news ,saying there should be lots more about this year, we had a huge one on the curtain the other night ,as you know i hate them !!!

Jane, will see if i can send Kim's photo's .

Spiders!!! Lots of big B*****s here Mandy.I'm off to collect some conkers tomorrow to put in the corners of the rooms again (like last year).I thought they might have actually worked keeping spiders at bay

Thanks for sending Kim's Pics
Wow Kim that looked a great party.

Hello Jane,
Scared of spiders...LOL.
What next.

Jane

Jane Report 21 Sep 2011 18:59

Hi Foggy.Long time no see .
I'm not really 'scared ' of the blighters.Small ones I can deal with fine, but the BIG ones !!!!!!!!.They are often at a height that I just can't reach (being a little shorty). It's the ones that crawl across the bedroom ceiling and decide to stop just above my head are the ones I worry about lol.
I had a really close friend(who has sadly passed away) and she used to pay her son to get rid of them.I think he made a fair bit of pocket money. He would come home from school and there would be spiders trapped under glasses just waiting for him :-D

Foggy

Foggy Report 21 Sep 2011 19:03

LOL Jane,

Think they might try and get you in the night when your asleep...LOL

Jane

Jane Report 21 Sep 2011 19:18

It's happened before Foggy! Which is why I get the wobbles lol.I don't mind so much if they crawl a bit further across the ceiling and stop over OH's head ;-)
Earwigs I absolutely detest.Have seen some of those today. But I love Chuggy Pigs(woodlice).
Trouble is I hate killing anything, and always try to catch any little critters and put them outside. If I squish one by mistake I always have to say sorry to it lol

Just popping in quickly before bed as I am up early for my next 'class' tomorrow........matchstick men!! lol I have a sore throat so I hope it doesn't get worse for tomorrow.

Patricia, thanks for reminding me, I forgot what you said about standing over the basin at the hairdressers. Luckily this time I seemed more upright, so it wasn't so bad. Hope your daughter and grandson enjoyed their birthdays.

Kim, I was reading today about a supermarket selling imported apples
in Kent where they grow loads of apples.......doesn't make sense.

Frank you do find some good bargains on Ebay. I never think to look on there either. The pain clinic sounds like many organisations these days....left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

We were in the Wo*ks earlier today........OH loves their 'bargain' books. He is very interested in Space and I found him a great book which was full of pictures of the universe taken by the Hubble Telescope with lots of info too. Reduced from £40 to £9.99.....not bad. I shall read it too. I saw one bit that said the furthest away the telescope had reached was 20,000 light years!!!! Does my head in trying to imagine that.

I hope you got those things sorted out ok Mel.

Jane, one of OH's pals left a copy of the Kettering ET in his car last night after their trip to Boston. The murder was front page news wasn't it and I see the chap who was killed had children. I wonder if Meg will be allowed to borrow Chester's goose!! lol It will be a sad occasion for Fitz at the funeral of his old friend tomorrow.

Oh Liz, whatever next with your NFH!! Such a constant worry for you.......it will be such a relief to get away!!

Could someone send me Kim's pics too please??

Night, night......xx

Jane

Jane Report 21 Sep 2011 22:23

Well, as usual I fell asleep watching WDYTYA !!!! I never get to see the end of a programme lol
Ann I hope your throat is not too sore for you to go to your class tomorrow.
I could just about draw a Matchstick man lol

I'm sure Fitz will be upset at the service for his friend. He was asked to do the Eulogy ,but he felt he would not be able to do it without breaking down.

I am away to bed now.I was reading my book at 4am this morning!!!!.(2nd night running).
Night Night everyone xx

Fiona Report 22 Sep 2011 08:43

Morning everyone.
I'm up early today as I have an appointment at the local hospital to see the Hematoligist, about my low white blood cells, I have been off the pills that the doctor gave me for acid reflux now for 4 months, the one's she thinks are the cause of the low blood count problem.
I am hoping they think the reason is because of all this stomach problem and not the pills because they were great pills for my indigestion and they help the situation, (as I thought).

Daughter no 2 is keeping me company this morning, while her dad is away, Don't like going to hospital appointments on my own, knowing her if we are out by lunch time ,I might have to buy her lunch, it's not the first time & won't be the last lol :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Sep 2011 11:01

Morning All,

Frank you can come and plant some in my garden if you wish.

Dry this morning with sunshine on and off.

Hi Kim nice to see you posting. Can't remember if I thanked you for the photos or not!! They were great and a lovely thing to keep of a special day in all your lives.

Also forgot to tell you this. Had sosmething in my eye the other day and looking in the mirror above the handbasin I lifted my glasses and something fell into the sink went round the hand basin and down the plug hole. I looked at my glasses and you've guessed it!! The little cusion pad had come off the nose piece and gone down the plug hole yet again!!!!! I have only just had new ones put on the glasses.

Well went out and told OH and he came in and took the u bend off the basin as I had'nt had the water running. He could only get one bit off so I poked around with a pair of tweezers but could'nt get it. Told him I would put something under the outside pipe and run the water and get it that way. He went off to get on with the garage fitting and I took the drain cover off to find the deep drain was blocked with leaves and muck. Two spades later and I had the muck out but the pipe from the handbasin was resting on the grating and only by moving it sideways could I get an old flannet under it. Came back in and ran the tap a bit. Went outside and looked, nothing, came back in and did it again but for longer this time. Went outside and pulled the cloth away and the pipe and found it lying on the flannel. Mission complete, hooray!! All this time it was raining cats and dogs and I was kneeling on gravel and an iron drain cover with a hydranger bush dripping wet down my neck. I had soaking wet knees and muck all over my hands and up the sleeves of my coat. Came in and put the little pad on the bathroom window sill, plug in the sink just incase it rolled off and back in the sink. Went and stripped off and had a good wash of my hands and changed my trousers for a dry pair. Went back to the bathroom to clean the little pad up and on doing so I realized it had broken!!!!!!!!!!! The bit that slides into the wire on the glasses had completely gone. I was so annoyed, all that fcor nothing. I was flabberghasted...............

Yes ok Jane been helping with a tree. A family tree not a wooden tree!

I think Maureen was silly cutting down a walnut tree. That is something I have always wanted. I had one in the corner of the garden in suffolk but it was only about four foot high when I moved in and never had any nuts on it. I also have one in this garden out the front which is now about 10 foot high and been in a few years now but still no nuts. I love them when they first fall and know as wet walnuts. So crisp and creamy.....mmmmm lovely.

Fiona Report 22 Sep 2011 14:40

hi Everyone.
Back from the hospital and a bit of shopping

well the white blood cells are low but not that low to cause any problems, I am making the right amount of cells that I need to fight infection but my body is using them up quicker than it should.
unfortunatly I have been advised not to take the medication I was taking for acid reflux anymore, I had more blood tests done this morning and have to go back in 6-8 weeks to see the hematoligist for another chat, the results will be sent to my own doctor and the consultant at the private hospital.
The specialist said this morning with my stomach problems he really doesn't want me to start any other treatments, things may improve even better when I return to a normal diet. so its good news.

Well that all sounds pretty good Fiona, which must be a relief for you.

I have just taken Meg back home. She and Chester have been fine together.Chester and his nose out of joint a few times when he realised I was making a fuss of Meg.He muscled in and put his paws up on the settee so he was nearer me lol

Afternoon all my lovlies.

Did 4 runs to the allotment tip today, started to see light through the middle bush/tree.Loads more to do, but a little and often they say is better than a mad rush.!!

Jane, we got a phone call at 3.45pm to say they had got all of Ros's info. and to keep the 4.30 appointment. Got there by 4.15. Didn't get to see anyone till 5.15. They want to continue the injections she was having at Kettering, which she said NO to. They are now suggesting another type of pain killer, together with the patches. We have to see how it goes and make another appointment in 6 weeks. Don't suppose we will get very far with this. We will have to live with it.

How strange Fiona, Can they give you anything to slow the body down from useing up your white cells ???

Mel, I bet you felt like spitting nails, after all the fuss trying to find the little blighter, then to find it's broken, I would have said a few choice words.

I daren't go Sloe picking, once the gin is ready I can't leave it alone. We did six bottles the other year, and I drank the lot. hic hic

Liz, I would have thought is NFH has hacked your computer, He could/would be in trouble with the LAW. Might be worth having it checked out, to see if he has. That would really seal his fate. How many more days ???
