Thank you for your replies and for those photos Jane.

Do any of you have a knowledge of mp3 players?

I know know they've been around a while for music. Can you put talking books on them?

Or should I buy a Kindle or something like it?
How do you download books of yor choice.

Jane

Jane Report 20 Sep 2011 21:37

David ,just caught you there. My son says in principle talking books should work on MP3 players.

Frank

Frank Report 20 Sep 2011 21:43

David, I have a SONY Ebook. I have over 1000 books on it. but have not got round to finding out if it takes talking books. Would be handy to just lie there and listen to a book, rather than to keep having to press the turn the page button !!!! LAZY SOD aren't I :-D :-D :-D

David

David Report 21 Sep 2011 08:17

Just been ringing my daughter and another grandson whose birthdays are today..

Morning Everyone
Oh Pat the luxury of lying in bed with a book and a cuppa. It's great isn't it.
Chris has a kindle.I like a 'proper' book still.Mind you they must be brilliant for taking on holiday as they don't really take up any room and don't weigh your case down
David I have no idea how to get books on these things I'm afraid :-S :-S

I am going to try and clear the rest of the ironing today It just looks a mess here in the lounge.
James has gone to sign in the Job Centre, and Jess is still asleep. She hasn't packed her case yet!! I think her coach leaves Northampton about 2.30,so she had better get a move on.

It is sunny here today and evreything looks much brighter at the moment.

Washing in and well under way........lets hope it stays dry.

I have to go out this afternoon to sort some things out, wish me luck please?

Frank Report 21 Sep 2011 10:45

We have another appoimtment with the pain clinic at 4.30 today. They rang Ros yesterday. Hope they have all the info now.

Better morning here also, but very overcast.

Old cat still can't make up his mind what to do. He came in twice last night soaking wet. I had to towel him down, but he is si agile, running around like a two year old.

Ros is outside, planting up some Winter pansies, that we bought on Monday. That reminds me I have three bags of compost in the boot of the car.I must get those out,

Trust you all have a nice day, don't over do it GIRLS.

Jane Report 21 Sep 2011 11:11

Good Luck Mel with whatever it is you have to do this afternoon.

I hope Williams OH is recovering from her operation.Did he say it was to be yesterday?

Frank I love winter pansies.I must make sure we have some.As long as Puss is happy and in his own little world lol

Right I must away and get things done.I am seeing Fitz at 2.He is off to Devon in the morning for his old friends memorial and ashes. He will be gone for a couple of nights.I may need some instructions as to his Mother and cat.

David so good that you have one ear that is a bit more comfortable now. Perhaps after the blood test they will be able to treat the other.

I cut most of the leaves off my tom plants this year and it does make for easier watering being able to see where the water is going. Also if you get white fly on the plants it makes the toms black with mould but I have'nt had any of that this year so far. I think the hard winter killed a lot of garden bugs and beasties this year.

I have now cut 4 pumkins off my one plant this year and they are ripening nicely sitting on old flannels on the dirt of one of the beds.

My two outdoor wigwams in bags got blown about in that awful wind we had at the weekend and are listing to starboard. Oh told me to tie them to the hook on the bungalow wall but I can't reach it!!!!!!!!!! :-(

Jane I must get in touch with you by pm but not till later if thats ok.

Jane you are such a good friend to Fitz. True friends are very precious :-)

Liz hope the crazies are leaving you alone today. Not long now.

David I hope your ears improve, very uncomfortable. I listen to music on my MP3 player at night. Helps to put me to sleep, but I don't know about listening to books on them.

Mel good luck with your "things", hope it works out for you.

Frank so pleased to read that Ros is out in the garden doing some planting. Yes you won't want to leave the manure in the boot for too long, pong. My cat is getting on and does silly things. Why they sit in the rain and the stinking heat is beyond me. You recognise the senile yowl, they all do it eventually. He sounds pretty good to me, maybe he was trying to wash out the flea treatment.

Mandy, threw out a heap of cooking apples this afternoon. They went off very quickly; didn't have them near other fruit and they were huge too. I think a lot of our fruit is coming in from Asia, so we really have to read the labels. Our government is not very good to our farmers.

Pat pleased that you are relaxing AT LAST. It must feel wonderful now with all that behind you.

Has anyone heard from Shirl?? I usually get a frequent email, but not lately. Maybe she is helping her son move. Did he find his apartment yet?? And Sheila too or maybe I have just missed a few posts.

Hello to Maureen, Ann, Fiona and everyone else. Have a good day. 11.25 pm EST

Sorry not finished, what is your weather doing over there?? Started to get cool yet?? Jane looked cold where you were with the heavy coat on. That was up north more though. Keith has been doing the washing, something I never allow, but I sorted and he did the manual labour, lol. I am a real fuss pot when it comes to the clothes and my machine. Yippidda, Yippidda that's all folks :-D

Just popped in quickly for some lunch and to let the shredder cool down. Then I'd better get back out to the garden again.

What a good idea Frank, I never thought to buy bulbs on e.bay, did you pay much in postage.

Thanks for the photos Kim, looks like everyone was having a great time and thanks for sending on Anne's e.mail Frank, sounds like she's having a great time too.

Yes I was wondering where Shirl. was, Sheila is in the States, isn't she?

Better get back to the shredding, at least the sun's out.

Frank

Frank Report 21 Sep 2011 15:27

Maureen. The guy I bought my bulbs from charges £2.95 for the first pack in postage, then £1.00 pack for all others. but when you can get the bulbs for under a £1.00 a pack. It makes them cheap compared with the Garden Centre. I will PM you with his site.

Kim, It's not manure as you think. POO. it's potting compost in sealed bags. It's now out of the boot and on the patio, ready for use.

It looks like another COCK up at the Pain Clinic. They rang 1/2 hour ago to say they still haven't got the MRI results from Woodlands Hospital. I am wondering if I did the right thing getting Ros an appointment there. But it was through the NHS, so shouldn't have been a problem. Haven't heard back and we should be there within the hour. All dressed up with nowhere to go !!!!
Still can't get the scanner to work, so can't send you my photo's from childhood. but will find out how to soon. Be prepared for a shock :-D :-D :-D :-D :-

Am using Ian's computer upstairs as am a bit worried that NFH is hacking into my laptop! this happened about a year ago when all this rubbish started and we had to change the hub which did the trick, but certain bits of info seem to have got into their possession which we simply haven't told ANYONE, so makes you wonder! better to be safe than sorry! Nothing to report today YET, so are carrying on with packing and clearing up. Everytime the phone rings we both jump expecting bad news, boy, shall I be glad when this is all over!! The pain clinic sounds a bit inefficient Frank, kick up the jacksy maybe! Must away and walk Millie!

Jane

Jane Report 21 Sep 2011 17:56

Boo! Hoo! I haven't got Kim's pics.Would someone like to pass them on please.

Glad to hear Anne is having a great time .Thanks Frank.

I hope the NFH haven't hacked into your computer Liz.I have no idea how these things happen, they might be your 'criminal' NFH !!

Kim ,that's nice of you to say.Fitz and his family and us have been friends for over 20 years now.I don't really have to do much while he is away and his OH is at work.Really just be here if something happens. His Brother is due in this country today (he lives in Thailand). He is a very strange man and can cause upset.Touch wood he won't arrive here to see his Mum until after Fitz gets back .His mum is getting on for 90 and it is a bit of a worry that a furore may occur in Fitz absence .Fingers crossed I don't get a call for help!!!!!!

The picture of me in the wind..it was actually quite a warm day and my jacket was just a thin cagoule .I had to hang on to the bottom of the sleeves and bottom of the jacket as the wind kept getting in and it was a bit like a parachute lol.

Frank,I hope Ros got her appointment.I remember once my Xrays hadn't arrived from the Woodlands which delayed things for me.

Maureen ,I bet your garden seems bigger without that huge tree !!.
I think the squirrels may be active in the garden .there are little holes in the lawn and it's not the rabbits.
Tomorrow I am looking after Meg my neighbours Border Collie. She is lovely but often refuses to go in the garden to do a wee.The only way I can get her out sometimes is to take Chester with me and then they both rush out together.I may bring her here for part of the day.Last time she was here she decided to sleep in Chesters bed.His face was a picture lol
