A very late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ROS. I hope she like your presents Frank.

Thank you Maureen.......we decided to celebrate with a Settle to Carlisle train trip next tuesday. We are hoping for a few autumn tints on the trees! We are driving to Leeds and catching the train from there, just an ordinary train. Years ago we went on one of the steam ones......nice to hear the chuff, chuff, but a mistake!!! I think OH called them Gricers.......enthusiasts who time every section of the line and rush up and down the train with notepads and pens and were a right nuisance!! lol

I went to a Mosaics class taster session at the college up the road tonight. It was quite good and we all made butterflies covered in paper mosaic bits. We were all squirming though and I don't think many of us will sign up. It is a new college, but the seats we sat on were quite high stools with flat wooden tops, not even a 'bottom' shape in them.......so uncomfortable. How the children cope I don't know.

Just popping in to say hello.

Couldn't possibly keep up with all your posts. Bed all day yesterday with the most terrible pain, but determined not to go back to hospital. Had some not nice test results today, but I will need to speak to the doctor first. First part of the ultra-sound will be done on Friday and second part - which is 4 hour fasting on Monday.

Good to have you back Jane, loved your photos and yours too Frank. Poor puss, I think a bit of dementia going on and they definitely get off colour when you use flea treatment. Both of mine lie around for days and don't eat when I treat them and then come good again. Happy birthday to Ros, belatedly. Sounds like she had a lovely day.

Party went off well, lots of food and they all stayed reasonably sensible. Think the idea of lots of food kept them away from the alcohol a bit. I stayed inside away from the noise, really didn't cope too well, but lasted the distance. Last lot left at 1.30 am. It was a glam rock party, some amazing costumes and imagination. I was very impressed. Even Keith got dressed up, will have to send a photo when he loads them onto the computer for me.

Mandy hope Toby has picked up a bit. I seem to take in the news on the animals. Off for a rest, love to all. 4.31 pm EST

So nice to hear from you and sending you my love and wishes for you to feel better. Sounds like the party went with a swing then Kim. Good that they all enjoyed it.

Still very dull and wet here but it is supposed to brighten later this week.

Don't feel 100% myself this morning. Hearts beating like crazy but I forgot to take my pills yesterday!! Slap wrists :-S

Liz another day nearer to moving from the NFH.

Wonder if Beryl has got Donnie back yet? Expect we shall hear from Sheila all the antics she has been up to.

Hear, hear Fiona!!! Couldn't agree more - these bland diets are so boring and all these tests. I hope I have enough blood left, haha. Hope little Sofia gets over her virus.

Can't slap you on the wrist Mel, as I have been missing my pills too. Ones I really need to take, but getting back into the routine now.

Jane caught up with my brother at Joel's party. First time I had seen them since Christmas, the time is flying by again this year.

Liz were these neighbours always so horrid and crazy??? Had it developed over the years or was there a trigger? Unbelievable behaviour on their part :-(

Will get on to sending these party photos. 8.07 pm EST

Morning eveyone!

Got the decorator in to do the front room so had to be up bright an early this morning.

It will take him until Thursday to finish, then we can go an choose some new carpet and underlay as the carpet and underlay we inherited has seen better days. It wil be so nice to not have a draught comming up through the floor boards this winter. LOL

Replacement conservatory is looking super duper especially now that its been drylined and plastered....more decorating and expense, but well worth it!

Gone are the days when OH and I used to do all decorating!!

We've had a marvelous crop of runner beans from just 6 plants. Never had the space to grow our own veg in the old place so looking forward to growing some more veg next year.

OH promised to make some raised beds for next year too as so much of the back garden is down to gravel and the ruddy weeds still come through that even though there is a liner underneath, so think that has had it's day....and I worry about the poor worms. Do you think there are any left under all that gravel??
.

Morning, from an overcast and chilly Northampton. You can almost feel the damp in the air. Won't be doing much today no "LUMBER JACKING"

I bought back a scanner from Conrad's at the weekend. As yet I haven'y been able to get it to work on my computer. Will keep trying, if it won't will get the young neighbour in, or wait for Conrad to visit again.

Kim, So sorry you are not well again, please rest as much as you can, we will understand if you can't keep in touch. <3 <3 <3

Mel, Join the club, I am always forgetting mine, after all these years. Ros says every morning "HAVE YOU HAD YOUR TABLETS" but somedays I still forget. It certainly makes you feel a bit odd without them :-0 :-0 :-0 If it gets passed 2 pm I just don't take them, as I have my evening ones at about 7.00 and don't like to mix them.

Annx, one of Ros's friends is TRAIN mad. They went off the weekend before last for a trip on a steam engine. He has build an extention on his house to house the train lay out.
Another friend of our has the large working model of steam trains. Worth upto £20,000.00 each. He takes them to shows, and they can pull about 20/30 people along on the seats behind. He has about 6 of them. All in an air conditioned, secure garage. This is the guy who has homes in Miami,Tenereffe. Hastings, and still go on holidays to other places. "HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVE"

No Kim, We weren't always at war with our neighbours, I've never been that keen on them (attitude to other people not quite my COT) but OK. The problem started when we cut down a couple of very overgrown Firtrees in our garden! NFH is a 'tree hugger', and, even though we had told them of our Plan they went balistic! We'd compromised their privacy, we'd only done it for spite etc etc! All of which was rubbish! the trees in question were WELL inside our own property and none of their business! Next thing we knew, 'SHE' was trying to put a conservation order on a big Beech Tree on our Northern Boundary, also within our property as she was sure that we were going to cut this down too!!!! that led to them saying that our northern boundary was in the wrong position and the Beech was theirs!!!! we had a survey which proved that the boundary was where it had always been, and it's been going on there for the last TWO years,(it goes quiet and then blows up again) threats of court action for trespass, and loss of amenity (!) in fact a complete nightmare, and, of course a boundary issue! buyer completely aware of the problem but, amazingly, unfazed! Sorry to hear you've been ill Kim, like Jane, I expect that you'll be glad to get those test results in. Ian's blood test came back yesterday and the PSA count is still as low which is a relief.. Weather her horrid, wet and gloomy, should be better tomorrow!

I would'nt worry about it as your agents and buyer knows all about this.

Just let it all go through and be away as soon as you can.

Maureen Report 20 Sep 2011 16:01

Hang in there Liz, can't be much longer before you move.

For our 'bit of a do' Sunday Jane I found some recipes on line, one was called Rotollos which was smoked salmon and cream cheese rolled in wraps, salmon and egg tarts, chicken and cranberry sauce tarts, and everyone brought something with them, potato salad, aubergine and tomato bake, chicken thighs, spanish omelette so you can imagine, I shall be eating well for at least a week.

Didn't you say you were doing a drawing class Ann, have you started yet?

Just spent 5 hours plus ironing, I was going in the garden when I'd finished but can't muster up the energy to chop and shred branches but it's such an eyesore out there, you can't see to the bottom of the garden the branches are stacked so high. Son was like a big kid climbing up the tree and sawing off branches.

Hope you are in less pain today Kim, the party probably took it out of you, we are all thinking of you.

Maureen , all that food sounds really good , have you the recipe for the Chicken and Cranberry sauce tarts ?

Maureen

Maureen Report 20 Sep 2011 16:26

Here you go Mandy. They are very simple to make, or I wouldn't have done them, and everyone said they were great.

Chicken & Cranberry Bites

375g pack ready rolled flaky pastry (I bought puff by mistake but it tasted just as good
150 gr Philadelphia Light
100gr cranberry sauce
250g cooked chicken or turkey, cut into pieces.

Cut the flaky pastry into 24 squares and place on non-stick baking trays.
Spoon the Philly onto the pastry squares and top with the cranberry sauce and chicken pieces.
Cook for 10-15 minutes in a pre-heated oven, 220C, 425F, gas mark 7 or until the pastry is golden brown. Leave to cool slightly and serve warm.

You probably wouldn't need reminding but it was a good job my daughter was watching what I was doing as I hadn't spaced them out and left like that they would have ended up one great big tart. They need a fair bit of space between the squares. You can tell I don't do much cooking .....lol
