Evening all,
Trust you haven't had any broken trees down around your area. The wind seems to have droped here.
Yes girls, I am sure you are right about the storms. I know that year I went to visit my brother in Chichester. As we drove down the A 3, I couldn't believe the number of trees that had been uprooted, where the main storm had passed through.
Maureen, Been there, done that with eggs, also over the weekend I collected a load of tomato's, put them on the worktop, and some rolled off onto a mat in front of the cooker. I walked in and trod on them. Seeds and mush everywhere. Had to take up the mat and scrub it. !!!
The dinner turned out well tonight, except the corguettes were a bit sour.
Mandy, I have been signed up for the Police notifications for a few years now, and this is the first time have have heard of this. Will get more news on local radio when I go to bed. Will report back tomorrow.
Goodnight all.

That gale of 87 blew mum's 7 foot high wall down in her back garden. She was so gladf it didn't fall her neighbour's side.
We thought the actor who played Fred was brilliant too.......his eyes were so scary!! Yes, I agree Maureen, she shouldn't have got that case with so little experience. She really should have known better than to go visiting him after she was taken off the case though.........asking for trouble. I was thinking after how the people felt who had had him in their homes to do building work.
Eggs are awful to clean up aren't they.........I suppose a dog would do a swift job of it!!! lol.
We enjoyed Jane Eyre, but I was a bit disappointed with Mr Rochester......this one wasn't as 'dashing' as I'd hoped!!!!! lol :-S Judi Dench was very good as usual and the actress who played the postman's wife in Larkrise was in it too.
OH will have to be up just after 5.00am tomorrow to get ready and drive over to his mum's to take her to hospital. They will do the biopsy in the morning and with having a general anaesthetic she will be there a few hours I think. We had a job to convince her that needing an overnight bag didn't mean she was staying overnight!!
That salt mine was amazing Frank....thanks for sending it.

Mel, I hope you can do something about that wind turbine. Councils seem to be being encouraged to accept all sorts lately to satisfy targets for renewable energy and housing. We we shocked to hear the builder who wants to build in the field next to our close and had his application turned down has appealed. When the council gave their reasons for turning it down they said they didn't think he would bother to appeal . Wrong!! We are off to another council meeting about it in a fortnight.
Is anyone else having trouble getting on the site and moving from page to page? I know GR have made some changes, but it is ridiculously slow now.

Hello everyone,
Sorry you are having such severe weather over there. Lots of damage and trees down - we have had lots of that in recent times. Beautiful blue skies here and warmer temps. forecast. Stay safe!!!
Mel wonderful photos, it is a spectacular place - where abouts is it? Thanks Pat for the before photos. What a mess you had to contend with!!!!
Busy week heading towards the 21st. Not much I can do to help, apart from worrying and hoping it will all fall into place. Hope the young ones don't do too much damage to themselves or my house :-S Have to visit my doctor on Thursday and pick up more decorations and bits for the party. Will be glad when it is over.
Maureen I'm looking forward to seeing the new Jane Eyre. Who plays Mr. Rochester this time???
Liz what disgraceful behaviour by your neighbours. Can't understand them at all!!! Must have let them out of the asylum too early. They are doing their best to make your move as difficult as possible. The poor fellow who is moving in - hope he has an easier time of it. I will be thinking of the day when you can get away from there.
Has anyone got any recipes for egg fillings?? Thinking of hardboiling eggs, scooping out yolk to mix with other ingredients and decorate with sprigs of parsley. What could I mix the yolks with for a tasty filling? Would appreciate any ideas. Just another healthy type of finger food to get these kids to eat before they get drunk, Maureen I would rather be repacking your kitchen and pantry, lol.
Hope everyone is well and have a good day with less gusty weather. 4.20 pm EST

Just realised it is Ann who saw Jane Eyre. Is there a movie or tv show about the Wests. I have seen programmes on this couple and of course all the news at the time the bodies were being found. I remember the Moors murderers, what a vile pair they were too. We have had our fair share out here, probably Ivan Milat being our most notorious and the Hunter Valley woman who used to skin and cook people, plus the Snowtown murders.

Good morning
Good afternoon Kim.
Have I missed some posts regarding the 21 st..
My daughters birthday is the 21 and also one of my grandsons.(her nephew )..So I must get some cards and things in the post.
Yesterday morning was busy for me..We have been finding dead fish in our pond..They were a breed called ghost. carp..They were about 18 months old... Thought it was somthing that was just attacking them until yesterday when another kind floated to the top..Husband asked me to take a water sample to the fish place to get it tested..Had to wait 20 mins for two to be done...so then went to do some shopping and got caught in a heavy shower...
Spent £18 plus on 2 bottles to try and put the water right...Then to top it all my head boss at work said could I and my work colleege make sure we are there to start work in the kitchen at 12 and not just be signing in at that time..Yesterday I had to battle against winds..takes me 20 mins to walk to work....Wouldnt mind but we are short staffed and starting work at 12 is overtime and not contracted hours...Had to bite my tongue. :-P
Yesterday hubby came home earlier so he could half empty the pond and refill then add some of the contents from these 2 bottles..I am just hoping the other fish are strong enough not to go down as well...
Nice and sunny here at the moment wind has dropped.

Kim, you could mash the egg yolk with, a little curry powder and mayo, or diced ham and cream cheese , another is Sardines with a little cream or salmon if sardines are to strong for you , a little chutney mixed with mayo or cream ,just a few for you .

Morning All,
It was'nt that windy here yesterday. Been raining a bit this morning but has stopped at the moment.
Pat I sent you an email for you to send me the pics of your kitchen, did you get it???????
Well the meeting was a real sham as there was'nt anyone there with badges on to say they were the people doing this thing. We don't know a lot of the people who were there so did'nt know who was who. They only had big bill boards up with things written on them that were on the paper they sent round to houses. They only maps that were on show were so small you could'nt really see where this turbine was supposed to be if youhad'nt your glasses with you. There was just a small blue dot on the map and should have been a great X marking the spot. From what I could gather it is not going to be as near to us as we thought. You had a form to fill in to say if you were for, against or don't know!!!!!!!!!! or you could vote online which oh said he would do to make sure he had his vote counted.
I thought it was going to be a sit down thing and a talk with questions asked but there was none of that. OH also found out that they are having 5 of these monsters within a square mile round here... Shebbear College being one of the proposed sights too. Just think of all the children there are at the college and how these things are suppose to affect people. Not only the noise but you also get a flicker effect from the turning blades if you are on the north side of one and it is only a small amount that don't get it in the circle around this thing. Not even a quarter!!!! I think they would be much better to spread the cost of a wind turbine to give houses about solar panels for their rooves, at least they are not so unsightly as a great turbine and would probably generate more eleltric that way than this thing that is supposed to serve only 220 homes.
OH wired the new build yesterday and is now suffering with his back :-(
I spent most of yesterday in the tunnel picking toms and clearing up a bit and watering. Cutting courgettes and cues and tying up tom plants and picking beans then forgot the beans and left them up there!!

Poor Maureen with her eggs on the floor. I hope you have a hard floor in the kitchen. We have carpet in ours and I have often dropped an egg and it is the devil to get out. I usually scoop as much as I can up with the dustpan and a spatula and then wash the flotex carpet.
Has anyone ever spilled a load of peanuts on the floor?? They are also hard to sweep up!!i remember having the pet shop way back and someone knocking over a 50 k sack on the concrete floor. It took me ages and ages to clear the little beasts up, once again with the trusty dustpan as you just cannot sweep peanuts.

Oh what a wasted morning.Phone rang at 8.30. The pain clinic."We have a cancellation" do you want it. 9.40. We dashed around and set off. Road works on the way into Northampton, so delayed. When we got there, no parking places for "blue badge" So Ros parked the car where the Ambulances park, and left me with the car. When a parking space became available "I MOVED THE CAR AND PARKED IT" first time behind the wheel in 7 years.Found the Pain clinic and went in. She was called in within moments, and was out almost a quick. THEY haven't got any of her records, from the other hospital, or our Doctor. We now have to wait till they get all the info. before we can go again. And there's me thinking, how great. within 24 hours of making the appointment, she is seeing someone. Now at least the ball is rolling.
We stopped off at Tesc# on the way back, and was in doors before 11.00. All dressed up with no where to go.
Conrad is at the hospital today about his diverlictalitis (CAN'T SPELL) they think he might have to have an operation to remove part of his bowel. Will hear from him when he gets back.

Hi everyone I saw Jane Eyre yesterday with Beryl and I loved it but agree Mr Rochester was not my cup of tea. I have three versions of the film one with Orsen Wells and the lovely Margeret O Brian who plays Adele and its so magical I love it but it was nice seing a more detailed romantic film. Beryl groaned all the way through it I want Don. I made no comment at all . I had to laugh my ho was all over Beryl. Poor you and you deserved better and he really got my goat. I said why dont you go and live with her .You could stick a knitting needle up your nose and do a Donnie. I think that idea did not go down very well. He threatened to stick one up well less said the better.
I also have a three video set of Jane Eyre the tv version and Timothy Dalton played Mr Rochester and a couple more tv versions Maggie Smiths son was in one and that was nice. I just love it that and little women.
i am going to America next March to visit Ryans mum and dad and to see where my daughter may be living I booked this morning myself and my ho have gone into debt to pay for it. But it will be lovely to get him away and spend some time relaxing together. Mat smum is very upset his dad and mum are seperated so do not know what he thinks .I heard he was not pleased. Me my Jess suffered for years with her illness and Kim will know whats its like and if she can be happy I am pleased. Ryans a love and a good friend to me and my ho. I did not see Matty much but he was a lovely looking bloke and full of life .Ryans more reserved nice looking but does not have the charm that Mat had he kind of irritates you a bit because he does things then tells you and even with Jessica. But shes lucky to have him and a nice man so soon after loosing Matt. April said today on the phone I have to go on a diet nan I have an asteroid up my bum just like that no finesse .I said you mean a hemoroid dont you the others in space and come very large April if you had one of those up your bottom you would know about it. She said well Megan her schoolfriends dad had one of those things nannie he had to have an operation . I changed the subject. Shes all peanut butter and jelly now and brought loads back and I suspect her diets not very good . Jess said she gets up in the night and makes sandwiches of the stuff with Ryan.
i expect Jane is having a great time and Ann. The 911 programmes were very sad but I only watched the one of the British people killed .Michelles bank had a office on the 6th floor in the first tower hit. Michelle was talking to a guy she spoke to every single day called Ross to do with her job and she said suddenly all the screeens went dead and they lost contact. He and his staff got out ok but Ross lost a mate on the 94th floor. So I wached that . Prince Charles was there and Dame judy Dench read that lovely poem do not cry when I am gone I forget what its called but it makes me cry. 48 people died altogether. I think it was nice those people had a memorial garden and somewhere to go and respect and grieve for there love ones. The lady who organised it lost her daughter.
The sun is shining now and I went out to walk my dogs and it was raining now its bright and cheery. I am going to make cards for Christmas so many to do some for the Birmingham dogs home.
Liz I think you should ignore those horrid neighbours why they are bothering you they are leaving somebody else alone. We have one on the other side to us who will stick about six ladders up against his fence which look a mess from our garden. I asked them to move them and now they are running us down to everybody who knows us . I have had people coming in the shop telling me. I just ignore it. But in your case its dragged on a long while. I get fed up of Birmingham the city when we went to the pictures some youths threw pop cans at us in the foyer and the man on the door did nothing to stop them. just because we asked them to let us get up to get our ticket. i sometimes book on line but did not bother this time. There was a cordoned off part and they were sat on the floor right buy the ticket booth. Last time I was insulted by that yob who ruined a cushion and you know what I have felt great having told that guard who got him for knicking the mobile phone cover in spite of what my ho said.
i felt a bit like David my ears have been hurting but my doctor would not do anything she said they are ok but they pop and hurt since my sinus cold. Which nearly killed me. My heart is ok Mel no heart trouble now but I wont be taking any chances. I got the all clear when I went for a test and had to run on a machine. I only did five minutes and was flagging but was ok. No sugar problem either. Still taking metamorfin though. I was sure my sweet I had in Paris would have caused problems.
Maureen you have not had a holiday either.well lets hope you get one next year. Did you go to see the proms .My mate in London went and it took her four hours to get home she was in the park not the Albert hall. I watched that on the telly and thought it a bit over done this year so many people go now not like when I went once with my striped hat and my union jack and bobbing up and down like that was much more exciting .I thought the women Brittania was a hoot though. My ho hated her. Well its now while on here gone black and the perspect roof on our skylight in the kitchen is blowing up and down with a bang lots of trees with broken branches in the park today the dogs had a great time using them for wetting places. have a lovely day all. Kim hello

Afternoon All,
It was sunny here earlier, but showery now and a bit breezy still.
Mel, make sure you vote on line too.......2 votes then with you and your OH! We were told to do that for the application to build 4,500 houses the other side of the village. We had forms to fill in at the meeting about that........the meeting was like you describe yours, plans put up on the wall but no discussion. The forms were a cheek too.......assumed you wanted the development and asked what sort of things you would like to see included on it!! Most people were putting that we didn't want or need it instead and that it would cause gridlock with the traffic. It must have been a shock to find out they are planning 5 turbines too. The ones they put up at Gilmorton this spring, a few miles from here haven't even started turning yet. Like you I think the solar panels are less problem. I don't mind the look of the turbines when you travel around, but would not want one 'in my face' all the time where I live either. I have walked up close to them and they do hum.
Frank, what a waste of time and effort for you both!! Admin seems hopeless these days. Why didn't they check they had the papers before ringing......not rocket science is it.
MIL is fine and is home now and they have said her kidneys are ok and that doing the biopsy didn't show anything they would be concerned about but it would be 2 weeks before the results would be back to her doctor. She is convinced that there will be treatment and a cure next, but the doctor thought it was nerve pain before and was trying pain management. Will have to see what her doc says when he gets the results through. OH was glad to get home. It was 'oooh look the lights are changing' and 'mind the humps and this and that' all the way there and back from both of them, he said. He was glad to be able to drop them off at the doors before he parked the car or they would have been all around the car 'helping' and getting in the way and nearly getting run over!!
I was over at Grantham earlier and saw a steam locomotive and it's tender being transported on the road on 2 lorries. It must have been an enormous weight as the tender was full of coal too. When I overtook it it smelt so strong.....just like the old railway stations! lol
This evening we are off to see the Pitmen Painters at Coventry. Anne saw it and enjoyed it and it has had some good write ups so we are looking forward to it.
I have just been trying to book my car in for the 4 year anti perforation warranty check. The local Peugeot agent says they have no bodyshop at any of their 3 city garages and their nearest place is now Sheffield!!! I have decided to go to the Rugby Peugeot garage. I know the garage there as I got the car from them and then they moved to Rugby!!! Not having much luck am I?
Mr Rochester in the film yesterday was played by Michael Fassbender.

I've never been to the proms in the park Sheila, silly really, it's always the way when you live close to something and yet people travel miles to be there.
Kim, it was a two part drama about the Wests, well it was more about the appropriate adult, seen through her eyes. It was done really well, no gory, horror scenes of the victims, I still can't believe the police didn't find the bodies of 20 + children.
I've given up on fish ponds Pat, I was feeding the fish for ages before I realised there weren't any in there, the wretched heron had the lot. We had a ghost carp too, it grew massive, bet the heron had a good old breakfast that morning.
How thankful I've been over the years Mel that I have very little carpet, just up the stairs and along the landing, everywhere else is laminate flooring, so once I'd scooped up all the goo it was easy enough to wash the floor. The living room has seen its fair share of accidents too, from babies to cats, think I would have had to replace the carpet a few times by now.
So Donnie still isn't back with Beryl, bet she's feeling that age old saying .... you don't realise what you've got till it's gone.....does anyone know where he is Sheila.
