I wouldn't worry about it Liz, once you're gone forget about them, I always say.....what goes around comes around ...... they'll get theirs.

Never been to Wiltshire, isn't that Thomas Hardy country.

I've given up on the cleaning,, it can wait till tomorrow. I'm tempted to sit down with a glass of wine, better not, I've got into the habit of just drinking on social occasions now so I don't want to slip back into my bad old ways ... ;-)

I'm off to get my dinner and watch some tele. I'm taping something on BBC2 Digging for Britain, I like all those archeological programmes, there's another one on Channel 4, Back from the Dead, you'd probably find that more interesting than X Factor Frank.

Annx Report 11 Sep 2011 19:11

Oh no Liz!!! They seem as if they don't want you there, but want to stop you moving as well.......control freaks!!! When you sent them your survey ages ago was something added to the effect that if you didn't hear from them within a certain amount of time you would take it they had accepted it? They can't keep dragging this up indefinitely. Poor Ian doesn't need all this either......hope his tests are good tomorrow.

Maureen, it grieves me how much I have to chuck away when I start looking at the dates on stuff in my cupboards!! Like you say, once you find one thing, it makes you start looking at the rest!! Every time I vow to use things up in future....... :-S :-S OH lived next to a chap who owned a chinese restaurant once and he used to chuck his fag ends on OH's garden too. He also drove home late a bit worse for wear at times and his tyres would miss his drive and flatten everything in the flower border as well!! :-0 :-0

That was good service from Cur*y's Fiona........hope the replacement works ok. I bet Sofia loved her cake......mmm I could just fancy a piece too!! lol

Thanks for the pics Mel.......I love the strange plants.

Hope Ros's tum is feeling a bit better now Frank.

Evening all,

BLOO## X factor on tv. I could go in the conservatory to watch something else, but can't be bothered. Will watch the WEST'S later, but i'm not the biggest TV fan with all these thumping music things going on (if you can call it music) give me a good play or doctumentary any day. Misserable old sod aren't I :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Glad you had a good holiday Ann.

I keep looking at the dates on the spices and will get round to throwing them out one day, but don't use a lot of them anyway. They should sell them in little packets, the jars are to big, and last for ever.

When clearing the flower beds, I still find fag ends, from when Conrad smoked. He would go down the garden to smoke, and thats where the "Dog end" finished up. My clumsey neighbour smokes like a chimney, his patio is covered in fag ends, and often when you go out in the garden the air is full of the smell of FAGS :-( :-( :-(

Had been a nice day here, even the wind seemed warm. Have transplanted a load of leeks, picked more beans, tomatoes, raddish. More apples fallen off the tree, also pears. Will soon have to pick the rest.

Liz, I was posted to CARNE in Whiltshire when in the RAF. Next door to the camp entrance was Harris's pork factory. We always had a regular supple of sausages and pork pies Wasn't so good seening the pigs being unloaded into the factory, and all the squeeling

Ros has been a lot better today. She has been sitting out on the patio. empting the baskets, and potting them up whith plants she has already bought. Guess who had to water them tonight..

Im all showered and in my dressing gown. While out watering this evening the sprinkler thing came off the hose and I got soaked all down my trousers.
Will have to p;ut it back on tomorrow.

Thanks again Mel for all the photo's they are great.

Morning All

Yesterday I just had a relaxing day..

Grandchildren were here for evening dinner on sat..Why do they empty all the jigsaws out ..Took me ages to sort out and rebox .They went straight to the toy cupboard before I could stop them....

Im still waking up early but at least I can take a cup of tea back to bed and not have someone ringing on my door..

Having the back boiler serviced Frid but Alan will be here as I will still be at work..

I am just juggling some pictures around on the wall..found some in the cupboard that will go nicely..More nail holes

:-0 :-0

Mauren I find I have to go though my food cupboards from time to time..You buy things just in case lol and never use them as well..

I watched Fred West last night as well...but recorded George Gently to watch another time...
I have been going though my craft drawers and found some x stitch pictures that I have never framed...I cant see the holes so good these days..but managed to make a book mark yesterday out of a kit..had to unpick it 3 times :-S

I havent got a book on the go at the moment if I had I would be engrossed in that with my cup of tea in bed...

Well Im off to put some washing in...I dont know if it will stay on line because it is very windy here.
catch you later

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 12 Sep 2011 10:54

Morning All,

Very windy here too and grey skies. Don't think my washing would stay on the line today either but it does smell so much nicer when it's been out in a breeze in cold weather.

I watched that Digging For Britian the other night and love progies like that. I also watch Time Team although I want them to have more than 3 days at a dig! What did you say the other one was called please and I shall look out for that.

We have new Doc Martin tonight and we both like that program, and the best of all is that Downton Abbey starts on 18th Sept.

We have the meeting up in the village hall today about the proposed wind turbine they want to put at the crossroads on the farmers land. We would be able to see it from where we live and this is supposed to be an area of natural beauty!!!! Think I mentioned once before that when I had a plant nursary here at home I could only have a sign up of a certain size because of this and it was only about 3 foot by 2 and a half and that was the biggest you could have. Now people want to put up an unsightly thing about 300 ft tall :-( :-( :-( :-(

Frank

Frank Report 12 Sep 2011 11:15

Typical Mel, One rule for you one for them. Have you all got a petition up, to try to stop it.

What a right pair those West's were. Still looking for another 20 bodies. But the police have closed the file. They will turn up somewhere/sometime.

What a morning out there. The wind is blowing a gale, trees are al bent over, apples everywhere. Neighbour put up a new greeenhouse last weekend, that is rattling like mad. Hope he secured it to the base O.K. or I can see it flying throught the air, like Wendy's house :-D :-D :-D :-D

Ros has changed the bed this morning and got a load of whites in the machine. If we put it out it will have to be double peged. Or we will be knocking on doors asking if we can have our washing back. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Trust you are all well, and keep the hatches battened down

Hi Everyone.

Frank , we have the same weather as you rain and the wind is wild , we have huge tree's at the back of us and they are going mad,I hope my OH has sercured our new shed, otherwise it will take off and look like Aunt Em's house in the Wizard of Oz :-D lol

Thanks Pat for your kitchen photo's , It must have been hard work with all the kitchen being upside down

Afternoon everyone,

Very windy here too !! Big Gusts, i noticed that next doors Gazebo is down , have been watching the tree's ,i wouldn't be surprised to see some go down at this rate , its not cold ,have got the back door open the only thing is the blessed leaves keep blowing in ,i've hoovered once this morning ,now it needs doing again , hubby will think i've been sitting on my back side all day lol
The electric went off and on this morning too.

Pat, my grandchildren tip the jigsaws out too , i only let them have one out at a time now ,they were mixing them all up ,took ages to sort out , i like doing x stitch , i've got lots that i've done and haven't framed yet .

Mel, we like Doc Martin , i see that his aunt Joan has died in a car crash and there's another aunt coming in ,Aunt Ruth, played by Dame Eileen Atkins from Up Stairs Downstairs !!
Yes and Downtons back, i hope they give us a flash back on were the last series ended , i tend to forget when its been off air for a while .

Frank, those Salt Mine pictures were brilliant , what work went into building under ground !! that would be some thing worth seeing ,although i don't know if i could go so far under ground.

Whoops two pots gone over now ,better sort them out

Our beanpoles are listing badly in this wind!! A few pots have gone over too as well as nextdoors trellis panel laying on our new shrubs now.

Yes, those Wests were awful and it did leave you wondering about others. I thought the Appropriate adult was very stupid though!! If you read about the childhoods of them both you realise that a lot of awful things were 'normal' in their lives.

We are off to see Jane Eyre at the cinema this afternoon.....it's had mixed reviews so we'll see what we make of it!!

Maureen

Maureen Report 12 Sep 2011 15:49

I shall watch Digging for Britain tonight, the other one Mel was on Channel 4 yesterday at 8pm Crusaders: Back from the Dead, it says 2 of 3... I missed it, don't know whether it carries on or is a different excavation.

It is windy here but not strong enough to blow anything over, yet.

Still cleaning this bloomin kitchen, have almost finished, had a slight disaster with half a dozen eggs. Isn't it difficult trying to scoop it all up off the floor .....

Better get back to it, just needs tidying up and washing the floor, but that's only the kitchen side, think I'll leave the dining area for another day, or month, or year.

Will be interested to know what you thought of Jane Eyre Ann, from the trailer it looked good.

Have just had a notice from the police. about disruption around the County, with fallen trees and branches. They are appealing for anyone who can handle cutting gear (CHAINSAWS) to come forward to help clear the roads. Must be pretty bad in places. Kettering area is one of them. Hope Janes house is safe from falling trees. I know there are a lot along by her. What must it be like up north, I think they have it worse than we have.

I couldn't believe my eyes with the salt mine pictures. Mel, If you would like to see them I will forward ???

My shed is staying upright at the moment. I remember the gales of 89/90. We lost tiles of the roof of the house and the shed roof. Fortunatly I had a friend in the village who was a roofer and he came and repaired it the same day it happened. I am nor sure if I am right with the date. But i'm sure you will remember it !!!! There was so much damage all over the Country.

I am useing the cold beef from yesterday, in a hot pot. type meal for tonight. With peppers, onions carrots, mushrooms and fur apple potatoes. (Hope they don't break up) Cauli, and buttered courgettes..

Doc Martin tonight. something to look forward too. Will make a nice change from that RED OR BLACK. It didn't get a very good write up in the Mail yesterday.

Pots upright again , don't know for how long though .

I didn't watch the Wests , i've just noticed that there's a programe about the queens Palaces on tonight ,Buckingham Palace ,the evolutionof their architecture and its links to london's sewers!!!
Same time as Doc Martin though !!! will have to record one .

That doesn't sound to good Frank if they want people with Chain Saws , must be lots of tree's down and roads blocked ,hope no ones been hurt ,any one with wood burners will have a field day !!!

Bettter news on the house front! Went to see agent this am, and apparently NFH were in there on Saturday wanting to know ALL about our sale!! what a cheek!! not ony that, but they were BOTH slanging us off like you wouldn't believe, how they hated us and couldn't wait for us to go! all in the E.A. in front of a load of clients! I think they are a bit mad! Anyway EA
told them that if they disliked us so much to leave us alone and let us go!! Buyer is quite aware of the problems and is planning to go round to NFH when he moves in to sort out the problem with them amicably!! sooner him than me!!! IF they do send another survey we are to take it to the EA and they will inform buyer, but he's planning to sort it with them anyway, so, on with the packing - I tell you all, I'm counting the hours till we get out of here!!!! Wind much calmer now, it blew like b####yearlier!!

Think those gales were around 1988 Frank, remember taking the girls to school with son in a pushchair, he was only about 2, the schools were closed and we had to battle our way home again.

Top marks to the actor who played Fred West, he made me cringe. Surely that amount of children missing would have been reported to the police, why weren't they looking for them. I felt sorry for the appropriate adult, fancy putting her on such a serious case when she was still learning. Fred West in my opinion was mad, Rosemary on the other hand was just evil.

That was the great storm of 87 Frank, where the weather man said there was no hurricane coming !!!! and it did .

Liz , those people, well you carn't call them people !! they have the cheek of the devil ,fancy going in asking about your sale !!!
At least its put your mind at rest knowing that your buyer is aware and is going to sort it out with them, get that packing done , not long to go now and you'll soon be away from them :-)
