Kim how are you doing .I did see your thread saying you were thinking of me in Paris you are so kind.I needed that break. Thank you how are you
doing ok I hope and the family.

Is their anyone who is not going on holiday with the lovely Jane gone away
and Anne in the States I feel envious.

Poor Annie who did get drunk on our break apologised all week and she said those yanks annoyed me going on about our Queen she is a devout
royalist. I still did not find out why she was mentioning Hitler though during the night.

The meal was really nice I will have to find the menue. I did not like the free
starter of escargo but did eat them just tasted of garlic but closed my eyes
to eat them. I missed one and nearly shoved it up my nostril.
I have no idea what I had for a main it was veal but cannot remember the name without consulting my menue. Will find it.The sweet was some flat pastry with icing sugar all over it and smothered with pink yellow and lilac
marshmellows tiny ones chocolate balls with orange inside and toffee
crackling chips and pear it was scrummy I felt bad me being type 2 diabetic.

I love Emila Fox she is pretty her dad talks very posh and I once had a crush on him until I realised he is not very tall .

I hope Northants is having less problems with trouble makers Frank
think it was you who mentioned that but my computor was having some problems and my threads were disapearing and shooting lower down the
numbers. It also stuck a lot.
Liz I am so glad you have settled in after all your problems thank you like Frank for your concern over the rioters in Brum. I saw a stupid idiot yesterday in the city .I went to buy a gift for a friend and went into a lovely
shop that sells cushion s,material ,and other gift type things and some lad came in and he was eating an ice lolly and he picked up a cushion and wiped his sticky fingers all over it. I was horrified and cannot keep my big mouth shut at something like that and said hey you somebody may want to buy that cushion. He said well are you buying it granmar if not shut your f......ing cake hole you old dragon. I could have rushed off and complained but knew it would go to deaf ears. I walked off and he went to walk out the shop with a mobile phone cover and the alarm went off and the security guard who was a tough looking cookie chased after him shoved him to the ground and marched him back into the shop by his neck. I was walking out the door when he came in with him. So I said Oh dear you dont look so smug being dragged in by your neck and said to the guard you may like to look at the cushions you will find his sticky finger marks on a very nice silk pink one in the £6 range. I then walked out feeling very elated if pleased with myself. What a dope getting himself caught over a mobile phone cover. I got out of town quickly though.

I told my ho and he hit the roof why do you do these things he said.
Why do I. Often wonder. I was brought up proper which Beryl would say
Donnie is not back and Beryl gone into some coma like state.I cannot say that I blame Donnie she was treating him very badly and he may have looked strange with his look and spikes but he was funny and nice to me.

William I love to read your threads and so many things remind me of my childhood some of which I have mentioned and it is nice to have somebody on here who remembers the old times .I loved the old movies
and thats why I chose to be an usherette in the cinema .I hated having to ask to be taken into the cinema by a total stranger. My mum would have had a fit had she known. I watched an evening with Doris day what a sad life she had .Perry Como was on I loved him when younger. Rock Hudson also and many doggies she had.

I once went to a castle in Romania and got lost looking for my son who was then twelve. Ashley disapeared up some very broken looking stairs
and did not come down. I went trotting up the stairs and when I got to the top found a long dark corridor with some light peeping in through slit like windows and sunlight pouring in making some funny weird shapes in like dusty patterns. I saw this statue with his head missing and was getting upset where had my son gone .Got to the end of the corridor and there was about forty narrow steps going down it was very dark and I was terrified when I got to the bottom my son jumped out from behind the wall and said boo I screamed . He ran off and I turned round and there behind me was a man he walked passed me but where did he come from there
was nobody behind me or along the corridor.I asked my son and he said
there was nobody behind you mummie. I felt really on hedge for days where did that man come from. I could not see anybody when I had recovered from the shock.

Mel you make your garden sound so lovely dew hanging on the cobwebs
and fairy hammocks hanging on the box hedge. So magical. I have just bought a craft disk of lovely bad fairies and dragons I am facinated by that kind of mystical theme. The kids at the school have just decided to do a play about my noval the Witches Brew and I have been asked to go and
advise ha ha can you see me telling a bunch of children what to do .April
took did not listen to me.

April went skating in Time Square and she went to see a puppet show of
Snow White all puppets and loved it.
In New England witches are reknowned and she said grannie I saw witches everywhere in all the little shops. The small quays and shellfish
went down well with Jessica forget where they went some little seaport.
Ryans mum is glad they are going to live there but Matts mum is furious
shes loosing her gran kids also.In New York State.
Must go want to watch the dancing and the talent show. Have a nice
week end Kim and all

Evening All,

Well, I'M BACK from my hols! We came back last night in the end as yesterday was thick sea mist so not very good for sightseeing. Also OH wanted to miss the traffic jams on Saturday as we had quite a hold up on the A30 coming down. He thinks it is mad having a dual carriageway and then leaving a stretch of single carriageway to cause a bottleneck. We still got stuck for quite a while though and saw 8 cars that had broken down and an accident as well.

The lodge we stayed in was new and very comfortable and well equipped....even a cream tea left for us!! We did manage to get out and see a couple of gardens and a farm with heavy horses and the banked walls everywhere were very pretty with all the heather and orange Montbretia. OH's car is too wide for those narrow lanes.....scraping against the ferns that just cover the rocks on the banks....my knuckles were white I tell you. Too much traffic to stop and take many pics so another time we would go early in the year when it is less busy. It was lovely to have a change of scene and a nice rest though and some seaside fish and chips!! Since we got home it seems so humid and muggy in comparison. Will sort out a few pics to send.

This morning a neighbour came to tell me her husband had died while we were away. He has been bedridden with Parkinsons for 6 years and was 82. She is a lovely, independant lady, aged 81 herself. She drives her little car about and grows stuff in her greenhouse and garden. She has family, but no children, but, like us, others in the close have told her to just come and knock the door if she needs anything or any help. It will be a big change for her though after all the care her husband has needed over the years.

David what an awful thing to have happened to that chap. They don't do flu jabs around here till late September onwards.

Pat, how nice your kitchen looks now after it being such a mess. I like the colours, similar to mine so I'll see if I can send you a pic too.

Fiona, that was a fantastic find about your ancestor. I think it is incredible they undertook such hazardous journeys to emigrate in those times too. I'm glad your results weren't anything too worrying. I have an underactive thyroid too......makes you feel tired and lacking in energy. Easy to treat though.

Mandy, can I see your butterfly please?

Thanks for the emails everyone, they always make me chuckle and little Harry has a gorgeous smile Maureen. How many grandchildren do you have now?

Ann, good to have you back. Wonderful photos, loved all the animals. Such amazing places you have over there and within fairly easy distance. I liked your accommodation too. I have a a bad habit of tightening myself into a ball when we get close to edges or other traffic, no wonder I haven't driven in years. Keith laughs at me and tells me the traffic is 5 fortnights in front of us. I am terrible in the car, especially on the F3 to Sydney. Your poor neighbour losing her husband. I'm sure everyone will rally around if she needs a shoulder or just a chat. Good that she drives and is independent and has lots of interests. It will be a big adjustment for her.

Rambling on here, just want to get my post done whilst I can. Frank hope Ros is feeling a bit easier today. Those patches have horrible side effects - how often do they have to be changed? Have not been on e-Bay for a while, plenty to sell. Will try again in a few weeks.

Googled the place where Jane is staying. Wonderful, historical town with lots to do and see.

Off for a cuppa now. Have a good day everyone. 2.30 pm EST

Shirl good luck with the tests on Monday. You are pretty good with your diet, you are always making nice meals. I told you to come and cook for us. I'll pay your airfare, lol.

Mel Epson salt foot bath is really good, will take the pain away and ease the ache. I used to soak in them before I got really ill, used to take away the pain of my fibromyalgia. You can buy it by the bag full.

Maureen I know how your Charlotte feels. I hate having my photo taken and avoid it as much as possible. My mum was the same - always used to put the newspaper in front of her face.

Sheila not good that Donnie hasn't come back. Has he got family that he would go to? Has he left Beryl before? That nasty young punk with a foul mouth and he got caught for his troubles too. What a brave move to speak up like that - it could have turned very nasty. You must have felt really good after that seeing a little justice for a change. Your poor friend Annie, must have been one huge hangover. Would love to have been privy to the conversation with the Americans - so funny just reading about it and snails up the nostril. Have never tried them, only frog's legs. They weren't too bad. You have lead a very interesting life with so much happening. You should have written several best sellers by now, lol. When is the family planning on the US move? I can understand how Matt's mum must feel, but you will be missing them too when they go.

I don't know what has happened to my post - paragraphs have moved everything is all over the place. The time is meant to be here at the bottom and the typing has been jumping up and down. Sorry that it is all jumbled. Put something in Sheila's paragraph that ended up with Frank, don't know what's going on.

Bye for now folks.

Morning All,

Had a really good sleep last night and it is cooler and quite windy here now. Not as much rain as you Fiona, but I did hear it for a short while in the night.

I'm the same about having my photo taken too.....OH only managed to get one of me last week! lol

The lady got an MBE years ago for the charity work she did Kim and has a lot of friends from her church. When some neighbours took her into the city last week to the hospital to get the paperwork she needed, she wouldn't let them waste time hanging around waiting for her. She said she would go for a browse around the shops and a coffee after and then caught the bus home!

We are out for lunch then visiting MIL after. OH needs to make the arrangements for taking MIL for her biopsy on Tuesday. I bet her biggest concern will be not being able to eat beforehand. We daren't tell her it might be afternoon before she has it done!!

Will get back later, I can smell the meat.

Maureen Report 11 Sep 2011 15:29

Thank goodness the contracts are all signed Liz, and you can finally get away from those awful neighbours, it's only when you hear other peoples troubles that you realise your own neighbours aren't so bad. On one side to me is an Asian family, the son, now in his 30's repeatedly throws his cigarettes ends (well it's actually skunk or cannabis) out of his window onto my decking, I've spoken to them several times about it but he still does it, so I just throw them back onto their patio now, but in comparison to your neighbours Liz it's nothing.

Sheila you are the sort of person you want around when something kicks off, I'm ashamed to say I would be too scared to get involved. If daughter and family do move to the US you will be able to go out for holidays. I haven't been away this year, but never mind, maybe next year.

I used to love having my photo taken, I was probably in every single one of holiday snaps, so vain ...lol...... I'm not so keen now, the photo paints a different picture to the one that's in my head.

Hope Ros is feeling better Frank, I guess the patches have the same side effects as pain killers with the sickness.

Glad you are feeling a bit better Kim, one day at a time is all you can do.

Planning ahead I was looking through some cookery books for the family do next week, had to blow the dust off first ...... went in the kitchen to check I had vanilla essence, yes I had but it was dated 2009, so that started me off, checking all the other stuff, it's turned into a major autumn clean and I'm only a quarter way round the kitchen. WHY DO I START THESE THINGS ........can't leave the kitchen as it is so I'd better get back to it....BBL hopefully
