Maureen, Yes mix it all together, and I would like a saucy apron. If I come down to help.

:-D :-D :-D

Mel, As I said Ros makes her own, I know she uses white cabbage, carrot and onion, celery. but not sultana's and pumpkin seeds. Will have to try adding those.

Coleslaw with a little curry powder , or Coleslaw with a little mustard both tasty .
Roasted vegetable Couscous
Or
Macaroni Salad
2 cups cooked macaroni, drained, rinsed, cooled
2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3 to 1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
pepper, to taste

Preparation:
Combine all macaroni salad recipe ingredients, using about 1/3 cup of mayonnaise and stir well. Add a little more mayonnaise, if necessary. Taste and adjust seasonings. Cover and chill for several hours before serving.

You might need to double up depending on how many people your catering for .

Morning All.

Monday I overdone it getting everything straight here before I went back to school Tuesday...Also had to be up early for a painter to look at retouching hall up in places...

Tuesday at school wasent to bad Only 2 years of girls for dinner
But yesterday the whole school...My freind who is also my work coleege sp had to go for a medical so wasent in school..

The first day of the school holidays she was involved in a car accident where a car came from a side turning and plowed into their car..The car was written off. She and her husband ended up with whiplash her husband with a few more problems.

So she had to turn up for another medical to sort some compensation out...On the way back to the car she must have walked across some grass and fell down a rabbit hole..
When I got in from work her husband rang me he was in abit of a state so I went to see them. Her ankle bone was the size of an orange..
She wouldnt go to hosp at first just made a doctors appoinment instead.

Her husband couldnt take her as he himself was waiting for the nurse to see him at home..He has quite a few problems...Her son came out of work early and we tried to persuade her to go to the hosp..in the end I said I would go with her to calm her down..I dont drive.. so I spent time with her there then her son took over..I was there 3 hours...It took 2and a half hours before she had an xray. then we had to go back to the waiting room for the results..by that time i had to go home..They were there until 9,30 we got there at 4...
It turns out she has broken it,,Has to go back this morning for a full plaster..will be in it for 6 to 8 weeks...
So now they will have to try and get another person in to do her work,,,which isint easy to find... Tuesday we were already asked to do extra hours because of the amount of girls comming into dinner...
Yesterday started off well because we got a cheque from the assessors for some of the hassle we have had to put up with ......this will go towards some of our extras that we had to have done.lol
this afternoon we are having the flooring laid in the bathroom which isint cheap...so i hope to see her from straigh from work and see what shopping she needs..We will have to go tonight to do our weekly lot...
tomorrow at 8 am I have painter in to retouch the hall up.....then we can sign the builders off and wait for the bill for all the extra work..
we have 21 days to pay this off...we are waiting to see what they charge (were given a price )as everything we had done as extra they had to come back again for.

must get ready for work..Trying to get rid of this headache,,self inflicted od course 2 glasses of red wine last night

;-)

Hello all, just tried to go through your posts, but not taking things in too well.

Fiona glad your tests didn't show anything too nasty. Had my gall bladder out 8 years ago. They let it go until the stones blocked the bile duct and I got very ill, some of the tummy symptons really settled down then. Happy birthday to your little Sophia, I hope she has lots of fun today.

Sheila I was thinking of you in Paris with visions of the can can and kicking legs. Sounds like you had a smashing time. Has Donnie turned up yet??? You will surely miss your family if they go to America - that means holidays over there for you and hubby.

Jane thanks for your photos and the email. We have lots of magpies at the moment and they are giving the poor kurrawongs a terrible time. They are nesting now and swooping everyone.

Can't watch 9/11 programmes any more, just too sad, but I will never forget it. Saw a programme the other night where all the emergency staff and heroes of the time are dying from cancer. Some want the government to pay for their cancer treatments and over 1,000 have already died. The cocktail of substances that covered everyone that day was so toxic. It is a long process, will have far-reaching affects for decades to come.

Anne have a great holiday in the US and a safe trip.

Frank sorry you have fallen on your arm - what are neddles??? Excuse my ignorance.

Tried to do some family tree work today, but I have trouble with Ancestry too and can't seem to find things. Maybe I just don't use it correctly!!!

I'm off to rest now, thank you to everyone who has mentioned me in the posts. I think of you all when I can't be on here. Pat hope the hangover improves, I can't drink red wine no matter how much I LIKE IT. Gives me sinus. Good luck with the final work, will be good to have your house to yourself once more.

Mel hope the foot is less painful today. Just thought of something you might be able to help me with. I have photos of myself in castle ruins somewhere in Dorset or Dorchester. Never wrote anything on the back - do you know which castle it might be. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that. I have tried to find it on the internet without much luck.

Cheers for now. 8.45 pm

Pat, Whats your middle name "LUCKY" you seem to have had your fair share of problems. Hope your friend comes out of this OK.

Happy birthday SOFIA xxx.. Same name as my niece.

Feel very achey this morning. Last night in bed, my arm and leg keept twitching and shaking. Pulled all the sheets off the bed. Had to remake completely this morning, Feel like a wet week.Ros wasn't too pleased with me., I can tell you :-D :-D :-D

Very overcast this morning and a chill in the air, is this the sign of things to come !!!

How's our David this morning, CAN YOU HEAR ME> Trust the ear is a little bit better.

Who did the CHESTER run this morning Jane. When you go down to Orton Road do you go through the field above the church??? or down through Grosvenor Road. ??? Does my old house still look the same, or have they extended over the garage. I had plans passed for that when I lived there. Glad I haven't all that garden to look after these days.

Trust Liz and Ian ar progressing with their SORT OUT. !!

Where's our Kim. ???

I'm just all over the place this morning.Walk, the dog, take car in the garage for a pre holiday check. While I was there Chris rang to say Life line had rung to say Fitz's Mum's Lifeline thing didn't seem to be working and they couldn't get hold of Fitz.So James took me down and it is just a power cut. Phew!Fitz was there but of course he couldn't be reached.I now have an hour before I get the car back and then head off to the Hairdressers.

Thanks Mel and Mandy for your suggestions will give both a try. Son-i-law makes such an effort when we go there, makes everything himself so I thought I would have a go rather than open packets and tubs.

Your friend hasn't had much luck Pat, I guess she will be on crutches now and won't be able to do very much, she's lucky to have a friend like you to help.

This series of WDYTYA is turning out to be really good, I like Emilia Fox, so pretty, all of them so far have had good stories.

Sorry I missed you Kim, you were a minute in front of me.

Been out looking at electric wheelchairs this morning. Very compact, and seem small enough for Ros to handle on her own when she wants to go shopping. It will give her a lot more freedom, we are going to see another model, when it comes in. in a few days.

Jane

Jane Report 8 Sep 2011 16:45

Frank,I think like you say it will give Ros much more freedom.Good luck ,I ope you find the right one.

I don't know where today has gone and I have so much to do.I was chuffed when I picked the car up from the garage. They didn't charge a penny for checking things over.I would think that is unheard of.
I then dashed off to the Hairdressers ,and some poor lady had had a fall in M&S car park.I helped her up with another lady, but I have a feeling she may have broken her arm/elbow.

When I was out with the dog this morning I was chatting to a lady who was telling me she has just bought a 'Miss Marple' bike.I said I have one that ~I'm thinking of selling as I never use it.(It's so heavy). She said the man who is putting in a wet room for her is going to try and buy one for his wife this weekend.Anyway ,just after I got home she knocked on the door(I didn't know she knew where I lived),and said this chap would like to come and have a look at my bike.It is the real deal .Hand made and with all original fittings etc.I think I will ask £200,as it was over £400 new and has only been used a few times.I think that is a bargain.I will never use it again and it is just sitting there .

I bet Anne is up in the air now on her way to America.Hope she has elastic stockings on and does her leg excercises :-D :-D

Has Sofia opened her pressies yet I wonder??

Casserole in the oven now.It is so long since we have had that.I'm looking forward to it with nice mash.

Fiona

Fiona Report 8 Sep 2011 17:05

Hi All

Yes Jane . Sofia's been and gone. She didn't realise it was her birthday, and was more interested at the banners I had up in the living room, than opening her cards and presents. anyway we finely got her interested and she opened her presents with a little help from daughter no 2, told Sofia's mum to sit on her hands and not to move lol, Once Sofia could tear the paper there was no stopping her.
I have some photo's will e-mail them soon.

She loved the dolly in the bath with accesories from her mum & dad also a dolls carry cot so she can put the doll to bed after it's bath.

Daughter no 2 bought her playdough or soft stuff as it's called now.
she took a while to touch it, then was happy to roll it out into shapes, I think that will be a good game to play here with gran, when mums gone to work.

The last present she opened was from OH & I a duplo table with lots of bricks we had fun building the bricks into towers, it's a great table , you can store the bricks in the table then fold up and carry it about, good for storing away when not in use.

The family left about 3pm Sofia had not had a nap and was getting tired it has been a busy day, what with going to playgroup in the morning and birthday fun in the afternoon, we will have a birthday cake on Sunday as all the family will be here for dinner,
I think she will have a cake with candles at home with her mum & dad tonight aswell.
