9/11.I can't believe it is 10 years.Fitz's neighbour will be thinking of her Brother in Law who died in one of the towers that day.Her sister was expecting their first baby ,a little boy,who sadly never got to see his Daddy. I remember my Mum was staying with me that day and I was ironing(what's new) when we saw the planes fly into the towers on the TV.Mum bless her had Dementia, and kept asking me if we were at war.

Back home safe and sound but very very tired. Had fish and chips with SIL etc and they left just before dark. We had a lovely day even though it rained most of the time. Feet hurt like anything :-(

Oh Sheila, sounds as if you had a good weekend , getting chatted up by Americans and getting tiddly lol
David we watched 9/11 last night ,i remember watching it on the television when the first plane had hit and then the second . I was reading in the paper in the week about all the bits and pieces that they have found , watches , identity cards ,and even a call button from one of the planes !! so sad.
Toby got a clean bill of health and had his injection , you'll never believe it but we thought he was 11 this year .....he's 11 next year!!! He's only 10 we've made him a year older LOL Must be our age as we both thought he was 11 !!
Off to bed now , hope this wind dies down a bit , it's knocked one of my pots over it was so strong . Hope Mel has enjoyed her day out .... oh i see you did !!!
Night Night .

My brother phoned me that morning as Ellen and I watched it on TV as did most of the world.
He said that's the biggest assault on America since Pearl Harbour.

Morning all,
Dry and cloudy here. . Ros off to one of the Scout fund raising mettings, not sure when she's back.
Have cleaned out the wheelie bin. Bottom covered in MAGGOTS EH. All gone down the street drain. Sprayed bin with JE#'s fluid, so nice and clead again.Don't know how the bluebottles get in there, everything is sealed in bags.
Have hoovered through and have cleaned an area of carpet that gets a lot of walking marks. Got to hoover that later.
I thought you would be "BUSY LIZZIE" excuse the pun. :-D :-D :-D I daren't even think of clearing out if if had to move. The loft is full, the garage is full, and two sheds are full. plus all the tools in the greenhouse. That will be a job for the boy's when the time comes. !!!
We are off later to look at these electric wheelchairs. I can't see her wanting to use it locally, but it will help if she wants to go shopping in town. We will see. ;-) ;-)
Must get on, got all the lawn to clear, shower, shave, and finish of carpet. A man's work is never done, What am I going to do for dinner tonight. ???? The winds getting up, and the sun is out.

Morning All from a very achey Mel,
My feet still hurt so i AM NOT GOING SHOPPING TODAY. Sorry hit the cap lock but can't be bothered to do it again!!
Well banties shut in all day yesterday only produced one egg, very disappointing, thought I would have at least had two or three.
Sheila sounds a though you had agreat adventure in Paris with Annie and all. Pleased you are feeling better.
OH is doing surgery on the red tree by the pond. He is going to take the top out so not so many leaves to fall in the pond. At least I am not loosing all of it. Earlier in the year he talked about taking it right out!! I said NO.
Mandy fancy making poor Toby a year older than he is. Poor chap. I hope he has many more happy years with you. Any more cottages to report?? :-)
Liz thoughts are with you in your sorting of your rubbish for the move. Not long now........
No Pat yesterday??
David hope that ear gets a little easier soon as that is just as bad as toothache.
Frank will Ros accept an eletric wheelchair if they provide one??
Should go up the tunnel today and see how things are doing but not sure I could walk up and down it much at the moment. Must pick some beans though.
Hope Kim is ok and thinking of her.
Wonder what Ann has been up to on her hols. I am sure she will have a nice lot of pics to show us when they get back.
I was disappointed in Eden yesterday in the hot house as all the lovely palms and big trees had a lot of dead leaves on them and also a lot of sooty mould making the leaves appear black. They must be able to clean them somehow. We wnt up the new tower and looked across the whole of the garden. It was'nt there last time we went. Then walked across a high bridge to get the bus back up to the carpark. We had left the car in the park called Plum but did'nt realize there were three bays to plum and wlaked all the way along one bay and the car was in the next.

I bet you feel like you are walking nails Mel.I think it will definitely be a lazy day for you today. Morning everyone else(I should say afternoon though now).
Sofia 2 tomorrow! Remember when we were all waiting for her birth? She will be so excited with all her presents.
Liz I bet you will find all sorts as you gradually clear and pack up the house :-S Has Merlin packed his Tack (Is that what you call horses belongings?)I think it is lol
I have picked another load of tomatoes and have skinned and sieved them.I will still need to add a tin of Passata to them though as they are just not the right type for sauce.I have my Oregano and Basil in the pots to pick and fresh garlic from the garden,So I can at least say that (almost all ingredients our ours ),with just a little help ;-)
You are a busy bee Frank doing your housework.I had to wash the front door and garage door this morning ,because those Starlings yesterday had left a heck of a mess :-S :-S :-S

Down but not out.
Yes you guessed it, went ar#e over tip trying to vacum the neddles of the lawn, managed to grab a branch on the bush to haul myself up. The neddles are stuck in the grass, will have to used the rotary mower to remove them. Was going to get it out, when it started to rain. Only a shower, but water and electric don't mix. !!
Carpet has come up well, will get the VAX out one day and do the whole lounge.
Have prepared a cassarole of beef, carrot and onion, for tonight. Put it on an hour ago, on low heat. Should be nice and tender by 6pm. Mashed pots, swede and runners.
Ros is out again, gone to Tesc# and post a couple of items I sold on Ebay.
Mel, I won't know if she will take to the electric chair. until she tries it. Do I plug it into the mains, while she's in it :-D :-D :-D :
Have got my right arm in a sling at the moment, as it aches like buggery. I think from the fall.

Just a quick message to say cheerio for now as off on hols tomorrow. We will be in the States on Sunday and will be able to aware of the anniversary of 9/11 first hand. I remember we were on holiday in France when it happened and had been out walking with friends for the day. We had just got back to the car and were changing our shoes when a man rushed out to tell us what had happened. We watched the events on French tele but it did not seem real until we returned home a few days later. I can tell you that there were some very nervous people on the plane. Its pouring with rain outside now but all the washing is done and ironed so can relax. Must now decide what to cook for dinner which could be interesting as nothing in. Back at the end of the month :-D :-D

Have a great holiday Anne.
I think everyone can remember what they were doing on 9/11 and when Diana died. Ten years, where has it gone.
Yes please Frank, I could do with some tomatoes ....lol How did you manage to fall over ......
So busy with ironing yesterday, everyone's back from their holidays, didn't finish till nearly 5 just enough time to have a soak in the bath before taking it all back.
Good news from the hospital Fiona, although sometimes you want them to find something, not serious, so the problem can be treated. Little Sofia two already. Is she a little chatterbox. I said that to my grandaughter when she was very young, she got really offended and said, I'm not !! She's 14 now and you can barely get a word out of her.

ANNE ,have a wonderful time in America .Look after those legs!!.Look forward to having you back.Three weeks is a long time .Bye Bye.
FRANK.It didn't take long before you disgraced yourself again did it lol.How did you manage yo get your arm in a sling one handed??? I hope you haven't done too much damage.
Maureen I have had enough of ironing these days.Even though I quite enjoy doing it.I think a week away with none to do will be smashing.Mind you saying that the way I pack i normally have to iron something when it comes out of the suitcase :-(
I need to nip out as I want some Lardons to go in my pasta sauce, but have been waiting for schools to come out so I don't get caught in the traffic.I think it just about right to go now.

Having another family 'do' soon and would appreciate some help from everyone. Not doing a roast this time, will do a buffet, anyone got any ideas on dishes a bit more tasty than a potato salad.

Maureen, We always find that rice, sweetcorn, peas and small pieces of peppers make a good side dish, colslaw, Ros makes her own, but Tesc# and Morriso#s do a fine selection of various salads, Liver Pate, chicken thights/drumsticks. Smoked and ordinary salmon. Selection of cold meats, various cheeses, baby new potatos. Lettace tomatos, cucumber, spring onions. I could go on and on. I think the best thing is for me to come down and do it for you. :-D :-D :-D :-D
I got caught up in the cable of the garden vac and couldn't get my foot out, as I tried I went down, as for neddles up my ar#s, that would have been painful.
My arm is in a strap type thing that fastens with velcrow, so I just slip my arm in. No damage, just a lot of disscomfort, thats why I am resting it.
Have a nice Holiday Anne, my grand daughter goes out there on the 9th. for a few days then on to las vegas..
