Jane Report 4 Sep 2011 16:01

Many moons ago I worked for a Vet as a driver, sometimes when I was at his house I would pop up and see Mrs B who ran the cattery. She was totally bonkers, but in a nice way.She was never without a fag hanging out of her mouth and a glass of gin in one hand.I think she liked a bit of wacky backy too.She would have been about 60.Two of her own cats were called Widdle and Puke !.The reason was that when she first got them and took them home in her car One had widdled and the other one had puked. :-D :-D
I had a cat who had to stay over Christmas in the cattery(she sneaked him in without the vet knowing)otherwise I would have been charged :-SMy cat was a beautiful big ginger Tom .He just walked in one day off the street all skin and bones.I called him Jerry.Anyway on Xmas morning I decided to nip out there to make sure Jerry was ok ,and as I pulled up I spotted Mrs.B tottering up to the cats with a massive plate of Turkey, and her glass of gin and fag lol.She was an absolute hoot.
Kim that bird sounded a scream lol I'm not surprised it had to be shut out when the Vicar was there. My Uncle Jan had a Budgie called Sid and he used to sit on his shoulder chattering away.

I just had a call from my neighbour whose party it was last night. She asked if I would like any food!!!!!.There was so much left.I think she could have really done with just half the amount that she catered for.So my fridge is now stacked with all sorts and I have also taken a load down the lane to Fitz and Georgette. It is a real shame but a lot is going to have to be thrown away.
I am desperate for a cuppa. It feels really muggy now the rain has stopped.

Maureen have a lovely meal out with the family.

Anne my Sisters dogs Charlie and Bruno would eat anything if they could steal it.Bruno cleared a whole pan of Bolognese one when Janice nipped to pick her son up from school. One of them ate a whole Christmas cake, and a half pound pack of butter.I think he was a bit poorly after the butter :-S.I could go on with all the things they stole. Both dogs are gone now and are in pots in a cupboard !!! I think her dog Molly is also with them.Janice just wants to find the right place to scatter their ashes.

Thanks Jane, I'm really hungry now. Son said between 4 and 5 so didn't think it was worth having lunch, bet they don't turn up till 5.

That's the trouble when you have a party, you always get too much food in, remember me with my legs of lamb :-D. that's nice for you though Jane, save you cooking later.

Good to see you back on Kim, hope you are feeling okay.

I do have to cook a bit of pork Maureen that I took out of the freezer, but there are lots of nice things from my neighbour that will go with it.I even have lovely Cheesecake and Lemon Cake ,chocolate cake, cheese and more lol

The sun is shining now ,but has rained most of the day here,so no washing out on the line.I'm trying to get things done ready for our hols now.I need to get Chesters bedding done too before he goes on Friday.I think he might have sussed something is up as the suitcases are down from the loft.He will have a face like a long weekend now :-S

I hope Frank has had a good day at Lewis's Footie Tournament, and that they haven't got too wet.It will have been a long day
I wonder what the weather is like in Paris for Sheila?I bet she is having a great break.

Anne,I must have missed that post of yours.
I didn't know your Mother was a friend of Sadie.

Consett's a small town.(Haven't been there for ages)

An unusual commodity to steal bra and knickers.
They will all have her brand name on them.

Hi all,

What a cock up sort of day. We didn't go to bed till after 1.00am this morning, watching a film. Got up about 9.30am. Showered shaved packed the chairs and umbrellas. Ros made coffee and tea and the bits she got from Tesc# yesterday. We left about 10.45am with all the road works on the M 1 the journey was slower than expected. We were just going along the road to where they were playing, when Harvey rang to say Lewis's team had been knocked out of the tournament, and to meet them at home. So we turned round and went back to Toddington. The rain poured down, so sat in the car till they arrived home. We didn't even see him kick a ball. It rain for a least the next three hours.

Harvey had put the joint in the oven on a timer, so only had to cook the veg. We had dinner about 4.00pm. and left about 6.00pm The sun shone all the way home, and Ros had a job to see, with the sun so bright.

If I get started on pets etc. I will be on here all evening, so will leave it for another time.

Glad you are all well, and have enjoyed your weekend.

I was of course kidding Jane.
You used to like petal,or was it flower?

Ive just had a bath and given both ears and else where a good clean.
Difficult to get the water out which is a bit ticklish.

I will put a couple of puffs of that stuff in and some almond oil.

Oh poor Frank and you were looking forward to that match!

Still as Jane said you had a good dinner that you did'nt have to cook.

I have had indigestion all afternoon after the fryup at lunchtime :-(

I have two nice rib steaks for dinner but don't fancy them at the moment.

Jane what a nice gesture of your neighbour to give you some of the food left over. It all sounds lovely.

Just waiting for the chickens to toddle off to bed so I can shut them in then I shall cook the steak. Might just have the steak and runners beans and see if OH wants chips too.

I have been looking into Wiliam's tree and trying to find a very elusive person before she married. So you think I can find her.............bit of a c**k up with the marriage anyway and it was put right years later in 1925 by the parties concerned. They had crossed out her surname!

Teresa With Irish Blood in Me Veins Report 4 Sep 2011 21:00

Just had a good giggle reading about all of your pets :-D Great stuff.

Swearing budgies.....that reminded me of my Irish Gran's budgie, Bonny.

The first thing that struck me funny was the fact that he had an Irish accent......seemed odd to me as a child as I imagined they all spoke with a West Country accent like mine!

Bonny was never in his cage and happily flew around Gran's flat in London. He loved people and would always come and sit on visitor's shoulders and start chatting away.

Dad was not impressed when Bonny started to chat to him....in his Irish accent of course....."Whose a pretty boy then Bonny? Aaahh who's a little bleeder? Yah little barsteward" Needless to say, as an11 year old, I was in stitches!

Don't quite know if he behaved himself when the Priest visited though!!
